Rally cars and drift cars have one major thing in common AND that’s that they both use a hydraulic e-brake to initiate skids! Being able to easily slide around has many perks and it def gains you major points in the cool department BUT is it really worth it? Well it’s something we’ve been wanting for the e36 since its inception so guess we’re gonna find out.
We have a new(ish) channel!
/ @donutpodcasts
Money Pit is where you get to learn about cars as we work on them. Each ep we’ll breakdown how each component works and then we’ll upgrade it. Join us in our journey to build cool cars, learn about them, and drive the crap out of them!

Reminds me of old wheeler dealers over here in the uk. the mechanic Ed China was awesome at explaining exactly what he was doing.
Hes not smart, master cylinder on a master cylinder and the front end will lock up under braking

Random fact: I think why the brake cylinders are labeled H and V is because in German Hinten is rear and Vorne is front
Sounds reasonable
Ja, das ist in der Tat korrekt!
And Recht is right, Links is left. These are represented by the letters L and R. But, that only applies on German cars...

The older I get and the more I know I find myself enjoying videos like this from a different perspective. Younger me was fascinated by learning about things that I had no clue about and I would have found this video so interesting. But now older me that knows a lot about hydraulic and brake fittings finds this interesting because I know what is being talked about, it is no longer a mystery it is a video where if I was there I could have a conversation and provide input into conversations. Great job guys, I love this show.

Install a intake that can protect the engine in a high dust environment like the Morgan Plus FourCX-T has.
they install itb's with no filters
My vote is for a snorkel
@@ben501st Snorkel all the way, yes!
Snorkel makes no sense, rally cars pull intake air from inside the cabin for a reason, as it has the least dust and has all the merits of a snorkel. Not gonna have clogged up filters 24/7 too
I think a truck intake that has an inner and outer filter would have enough airflow to not be any restriction and remove more dust than anything else. The cons are space and weight.

Idk if it's just Zack in the end but whoever is directing this is really interesting this show has my favorite sense of direction and editing out of all the donut ones.
I think it’s because it takes a more casual, “Your buddy helping you out” kind of vibe rather than some over editing montages or monologues.
This was my favorite money pit yet. Making a scary break job seem approachable, Jobe's the man! (helping a buddy install a modern break kit on his 1975 MG B next week) This vid helped shake away the jitters.
This has been one of the most Professional episodes I've seen. I've seen the growth from 2 years. Very proud for you. Keep it up.
I love how I’m the beginning, jobe says he wants his car more reliable than a stock car going off road but he bought a bmw
Old Bmws were actually reliable. They were just built better. Especially with a few mods they can become bulletproof track beasts.
@@andrewbreadsticks7284 Yup, still got a 2001 318i that's going strong. We inherited it with a few problems that we've fixed as cash permitted, but the big surprise is that nothing new has broken in five years. Once we fixed the central locking, expansion tank and a couple of sensors, she's been like brand new again.
That era of BMW was when people bought rather than leased cars, so they made them to last. Now after three years of being leased they'll be sold cheap and make their way to the scrapper a few years later when things fail that really aren't economical to fix. Old beamers are expensive for parts compared to a VW group car, but it's my opinion you got your money's worth with that era of BMW. Later ones have too much electronic gubbins to go wrong, and they're more difficult to work on at home. This BMW is relatively simple to modify by comparison.
Older bmw's are reliable. Any bmw past 2010, not so much
I have a 323is 251k miles runs strong as hell. Anything is reliable if you care enough to keep it up. Main problem these cars have is the cooling system which he’s already replaced
Dude for real. I had a 2002 325i and it overheated constantly. It already had the head gasket, thermostat, fan clutch, even the radiator cap replaced and still overheated. But I gotta say if they are kept serviced and treated right they have a hell of a strong engine.
these episodes every week continue to impress me with how versatile Jobe is, dude can literally do everything lol
this series is just perfect, its really fun to watch and you still learn something
Zach and James are perfect for explaining things they know so much and even if they don’t they teach themselves as they teach us and makes it 1000x better

Zach I learned so much from you man thanks and thank you donut media for these videos
Money Pit! Always stoked for these. Hi-Low, Money Pit and B2B are my faves (sorry Nolan, wheelhouse is also good)
Actually Zac, if you were using an Oxy-Fuel Set-up, you'd be cutting metal with fire and a jet of oxygen to blow the molten steel away. With a plasma cutter, you're cutting with an electric arc and jet of super heated air, aka plasma.
Like 90% sure a properly set up oxy-fuel torch has little to no oxygen left after the flame, and thus no jet of oxygen blowing out the molten metal.
@@reaganharder1480 Even with the flames properly set (heating and cutting both set to a neutral flame) you still have excess oxygen in an Oxy-Fuel set-up when you press the cutting trigger, as you're actually using the oxygen to turn the molten steel to slag which is also taken away by the same oxygen jet from the cutting head.
Without the cutting oxygen, you're able to actually weld with a cutting torch as the neutral flame only gives off CO2, which acts as a shielding gas for the molten metal puddle, preventing it from mixxing with atmospheric gases.

I think it would have been easier to dual calliper the rear wheels so u have separate callipers of e brake and normal brakes
running the lines probably would have been simpler, but a second set of rear calipers is gonna require an aftermarket knuckle and considerable disassembly of the rear suspension

funny how americans call imperial "standard" even tho it's the one system that deviates from the true standard (metric)
Same thing I was thinking! I guess technically, it is "standard" in USA.
@@0riginal835 someone's almost got it figured out.
ok, cool, we've known this for a hundred years
Because it's standard here, with metric being our secondary system of measurement (in most cases, though it's truly a weird mix.) Examples of the weird mix being that one in the US can buy a bottle of soda measured in liters and a jug of milk measured in gallons, in the same day, at the same store. There's probably hundreds if not thousands of more examples like that here.
I don't think either is necessarily better, but I prefer imperial for woodworking. That and I've always despised metric tire sizes, they seem overly complicated for no reason compared to imperial. (For example, if one had 33 inch tires on 17 inch wheels, going to 20 inch wheels would be as simple as going from 33x10.50r17 to 33x10.50r20. Dead simple and easy to understand.)
I would think people in primarily metric countries call metric something similar?
