My bicycle broke down in front of Joel’s house. He stopped to check if I was okay. Beyond decent. Thank you sir
❤️
This has to be the first time where Boards of Canada and Motley Crue are in the same episode.
the fact that hes even talking about BoC is so satisfying
I know, right? He was doing just fine until that.
Selected Ambients Work. yeah they sure do
🤣🤣🤣
Joel out here cutting short and sweet interviews so he stays out of trouble. Good selection. Definitely what I'd suspect him to pick up.
I love deadmaofive
That's how I originally thought it was pronounced.
dead mow cinco
goat lord*
Chairman maus
A Canadian in a Buc-ee's shirt listening to Motley Crue is a sign of the apocalypse!
Geogaddi is an amazing album
I'd never heard of Boards of Canada, but I like what I heard, so I'm going to check it out.
Your not gonna regret it. So damn good
There is a whole RUclips channel dedicated to artists like them... They're that influential
Just listen to them and you'll get to know how Joel Got his music taste specially like melody and chords wise
Love Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, especially those albums. And NIN PHM is classic.
I knew he would be choosing Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin. Classics!
Fantastic picks, but all very obvious/mainstream stuff for anyone who is into electronic music. I remember him mentioning a while back that he loved Jon Hopkins' work, for example, which was the slightly more obscure stuff I was hoping he'd share.
Didn't know he's into JH. That's cool
Wow, Pretty Hate Machine and Selected Ambient Works on the same episode! 2 of my most favourite albums of all time ♥
That was a quick one. Boards of canada and aphex ❤
He wanted to get back & stick the Aphex Twin album on, it's a LOOOONG album but absolutely awesome ❤
It’s so on brand that it is this short. But still a lovely insight into what he listens to outside of his own stuff. Every pick is cool.
love me some selected ambient. one of my favorite electronic albums too
Pretty Hate Machine is a gem.
exactly what i would’ve pictured a deadmau5 what’s in my bag to look like 😂
had my own shopping spree when i went to grab Random Album Title a while back. so much stuff!
Geogaddi and autobahn 🔥🔥
Rocking the Buc-ees Tshirt!
Love these albums.
Short and sweet 🍻
this makes perfect sense.
Nice albums selection from Joel, Neat. 💯
Listening to Math is Math, his track Snowcone makes a lot of sense 😮
I'm about thirty years too old to be a fan of any EDM, but Joel seems like a good guy, and he's a great interview.
Thanx for Boards Of Canada!
I love that he is a BoC fan and Aphex Twin and Kraftwerk fan. I dont really listen to Deadmau5 but listen his tutorials and his opinions a lot. Seems like a stand up guy.
I used to be a mad zep fan too
Ahhh i love him!! 😩😍😍😍
Pretty hate machine is a classic
legend
Ohhh sick
Joel eligiendo discos de Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk y Nine Inch Nails me hace feliz :)
out on the tiles is an extremely underrated song. my favourite from them.
Bro nailed it!
Love to see a BOC shoutout.
The first time ive seen when the footage of them grabbing the album off the shelf is actually one of the albums they show.
Legend
geogaddi
Kind of wish he had elaborated on Nine Inch Nails. I'll go back to watch Gary Numan gushing over them instead
Not much into electronic music, but band Trans AM is pretty cool
I knew he liked stuff like aphex twin and boards of Canada and always wished he leaned into that more.
He has a lot of songs in the style of those 2 artists, you just have to dig a little deeper in his discography
listen to his "while(1
@@kevynoliveirayup, that's my favorite of his. I know that he does do stuff in this genre, I just wish he did more.
@@punker-gamer-trucker-guy ooh gotcha!
Great pickings of this DJ ...i think many followers of this channel , we love to Aphex twin and true electronic beats like Boards of Canada. Electro greetings to Amoeba managers and audience. Viva Amoeba !!!
P.d. Invite to Maynard James Keenan or Billy Howerdel or Billy Corgan or Paz Lechantin or Frank Black
Buc-ees slays.
Friend recommended some ambient deadmau5 the other day and I liked it. What are his essential albums?
Hell yeah you guys got deadmau5!

Kraftwerk is fantastic. I've actually dusted off my keyboard that's been sitting around my apartment and started practicing on it. Man shall not live on guitars alone.
❤🔥
Omg, this is the first time I'm going to have every album!!!.... Oh, Mötley Crüe... never mind.
Exactly the same, classic choices and then Motley Crue at the end. Pure dross music.
He should have gotten “Too Fast For Love” or “Shout at the Devil”. Those are the best Motley Crüe albums.
@@andrewmachado6988 Everything after honestly wasn't near as good. Girls, Girls, Girls is also good, but not as good as those two. It's a definite third.
@@LinKueiDragon
Have you heard the self titled album they released in 1994 with John Corabi on vocals? That is a good album as well.
Yeah. My redneck detector when off.
Perfect list sans the Crue album (love their older stuff though.) Shout out to Boards Of Canada who don't receive the props they deserve.
Yo how is he so unfathomably BASED
Thrash Theory has a great video about Aphex Twin.
he played safe
Pretty Hate Machine AND Dr. Feelgood both came out the same year in 1989….never put that together til this video….
This may be the quickest WIMB ep. Great picks!
Those are all good basic picks. If you’re new to electronic music you could start with some of those.
“Good friend of mine. Don’t know what he looks like” 😂
Agree. I would choose something weirder!
I don't understand the complaint. He picked the albums that've influenced him the most (excluding the Motley Crue one he picked as a joke), I see nothing wrong with that
Dead Mow Five is my favorite dee jay
If you like Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song and are a fan of electronic/instrumental music, check out James Last's cover (yes, that James Last) of Immigrant Song. It's on his Non Stop Dancing 12 album.
Loved this guy in Goat Simulator.
Petting Zoo
DEADMAU5 WAS IN GOAT SIMULATOR??????
3:31??? THAT IT??? lol anyway great list!
"I don't know which one he is..." 😂
Deadmau5: "people ask what DJ's do i listen too ? what electronic music do i listen too? I don't really listen to anything..."
*Proceeds to show Boards Of Canada, Aphex Twins, Kraftwerk, 9 Inch Nails.*
I'll go easy on him 'cause he's friends with Canada's sweetheart Kenny Hotz !
My god, lots of pretentious elites in the comments! Anyways, I love the picks Deadmau5 chose here. Great albums.
I use music is math to test kick drums on a new sound system
Normcore but solid
Raise your weapon 🔫 🎉😮 Def love his vinyl selection! Boards of Canada always been a favorite! Apex Twin 🎊 kraftwerk always 🔥
Pongan subtitulos en español por favor 😢
Blink and you miss it
Oh wow he looks just like The Orgazoid
Feels like the shortest WIMB ever made???
He really liked immigrant song. And he thinks its funny seeing a young Tommy.
That's about all I got from this
🥱. Well, at least the video is short.
One MINUTE ago, lets roll
deadmau5 - What's In My Bag? 10.6.24. bought? He didn't et 'em free, then?
III is the best Zeppelin record and its kinda not even close
whatever opinion I had of Joel/deadmaus was eliminated with the Geogaddi pick
Why not a deadturtle?
Apex Boys or pet shop twin?
If I was a turtle, I'd call myself "Shelly."
@@thislazylife i like turtles but shelly? wonderful opium addict or aquatic sea faring thingy....? look at this!!!!! are you guys seeing this????
I like turtles
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 ruclips.net/video/7QaTMcavDOg/видео.htmlfeature=shared BULL TURTLES SITING AT THE RND OF THE BED CHATTIN' NONSENSE......
Ace Frehley's picks were less obvious than this. #boringAF
Joel…😂
no marshmello?
Buc-ee's!
Boards of canada inclusion would have been enough
Wow he even phones-in his musical taste 😵
Shortest what’s in my bag that I’ve ever seen. Whatever happened to this guy? He was everywhere and then just disappeared.
People saying this is boring or basic is pretty funny, all he did was pick what he liked, (especially the BOC he’s talked often before about how Boards Of Canada is important to his sound) and not BS for like 10 mins a piece about totally obscure stuff. It’s short and to the point basically like it’s always been with Joel.
Well normally people say BOC for Blue Öyster Cult but okay
Only rational comment in this whole section
Yeah but who still listens to Blue Oyster Cult?
Nine Inch Nails put industrial music on the map before that it was such an underground genre of music
Unless you lived outside the US.
"Pka?"
"professionally known as"
He basically ordered the pumpkin spiced latte. Classic records in there for sure, but not one bit of insight into something deeper
I like when artists pick fun albums and not ones that are so niche just to look cool
IKR liking things that are already widely popular - what a boor
I like when artists pick albums, known or not, and actually give more than a front-cover blurb and say what it really means to them rather than rely on cultural shorthands- these are great picks, don’t get me wrong, but that’s what makes this series special.
@@ancientteenager7880 thank you for summing this up well. video was a disappointment and i clicked really fast. i think he had no interest in buying vinyl or even doing the video, but he did. so he picked super basic albums, and made only periphery comments about them. if youre not into doing it, then dont do it!
@@onesixfive yeah- sure is strange! there’s a whole host of bigger artists that have like 3-8 minute videos for probably a similar reason. it’s weird to treat something potentially insightful and revealing like it’s homework but oh well
not a crate digger
Dr. Feelgood is a great record.
Even Theatre of Pain is better
I like DeadMau4 better
A usb stick.
Red flag: Motley Crue
What 5 out of 6 ain’t bad
frustrating when the artist tells you very little about his taste, or why he cares about these cool but relatively generic selections. if your playlist is part of your id, what are you telling us?
He really liked immigrant song. 😂
I’m not like other mice.
Prego mescuzi el hato machina
Man, that was kinda lame. Seemed very disinterested.
“Forced to listen to stuff like Zeppelin” Canada in the 80’s and 90’s to a T. Lmfao. That’s why EDM blew up here .. “get me the fuck away from rock musics”
1:19 holy fuck so that's the Ugly Boy - Die Antwoord sample
Had kind of hoped to to be wrong about him but pretty much confirmed what I already thought. Near zero detectable passion here. Extra sad when you see how much other artists put into it.
i don't get how one would assume he has no passion for the albums he picked out.. but ok lol
@@oneAMghost yeah, I did say “detectable passion” so it’s not an assumption - I’m just saying he doesn’t appear that interested to me. But yep, totally: whatever…
Possibly the shortest and most boring episode
On brand for this guy
