I love the idea of Hannibal Burress just like sitting at home on the couch and listening to a Less Than Jake CD.
i’ve come tooo my senses that i’ve become senseless
I really want to see Hannibal skank now.
3 songs in, i picture him leaning back and just go "shit's wack"
@@cameronvanberkum7353 k
😂😂😂
Wonder how he's going to feel about Less Than Jake when he finally puts it on...
i’m sure he’ll like it, very hard not to like some less than jake, especially Anthem
@@communionshaped I just think this is all a cautionary tale of the dangers of buying albums while high
The random and blind Less Than Jake pick is killing me
Im so used to see Hannibal without hair (mostly thanks to The Eric Andre Show), that i couldnt recognize him in the thumbnail at first
I'm not used to see him ALIVE.
Hannibal picked up so much cool shit just off of instinct and intrigue. Honestly kind of inspiring in a weird way, makes me wanna go out to the record store and discover cool new shit too.
I now got introduced to Stereolab. This is exactly why I watch this series. Thanks Hannibal and Amoeba!
One of the best bands ever. Enjoy your plunge into their discography!
“mars audiac quintet’ is a great driving album … one of the best
One of those bands where if you set out to list all their best songs you're going to be busy for a long time--lots of amazing stuff.
this song cybele reverie is one of the best songs ive ever heard in my life! rare when that happens later in life
It's not something I'd have listened to on my own, but my work mate would play it during his turn at the player. Grew on me for sure
Hannibal is such a sweet, hilarious dude. I loved his approach to finding picks.
What a breath of fresh air, such a real and down to earth dude. Instead of carrying on about how much he knows, he is keen to find stuff that is knew and he isn't familiar with. I love that because that's REALLY the point of going to the record store..... to find new shit! I have never really understood why people buy stuff that they already have!
These are my favourite episodes.
Totally! But I also get why people on this show buy stuff they already have... they want to give credit to their influences, so the viewer can know what helped create their sound.
@@figglebop best episodes: I’m going to see what interesting stuff I can find in one of the last great record stores. Good episodes: here are my influences. Worst episodes: here’s all the stuff I guested on and BUY MY NEW ALBUM!
*new
@@jeffdixon847 "LAST GREAT RECORD STORES" BAHAHAHAHAHAHAA almost had a spit take to that one.
I can relate to him buying something just because the cover looked cool. I used to blindly buy stuff just because of the art. Now I inevitably have to look up reviews or listen/watch/read a sample first. I think I’m missing out on a lot of good stuff!
Just dig though the depths of thr streaming services, you can find some cool new/low listen stuff on there
Blind buys are dangerous but I love em!
It is a fun way to potentially broaden your horizons in a way you never expected. It's so easy to tailor everything to your tastes these days you can easily end up in a rut.
My supervisor at Best Buy when they still had a media department used to buy CDs just cuz they had cool looking covers 😂
😂 everyone did and will always do that!
Best one in ages - dude ain’t afraid to be brave and out there with his selections. Love his honesty too - saying ain’t heard of a few of his selections, but just liked the artwork. So much better than hipsters with obvious choices. And mad respect for the Doom Bot appearance 👏🏻👏🏻
DOOM, but yea I agree
Love the variety of music and media in this video.
I saw Stereolab twice in 1994 on the same day. Saw them at Lollapalooza then at a club later that night. They're great!
Probably the greatest band of the 90s.
Dots and Loops. All I have to say
RIP Mary Hansen
I feel like this actually gives a really good insight into who he is as a person outside of “comedy mode.” He has an intellectual curiosity that I think must drive his observational humor. Great job on the video editing too.
Hannibal was awesome, I love his style and way of choosing media. Thanks for bringing back the couch. I dig it.
Stereolab is fire. Great picks all around.
Less Than Jake hahaha I’m so dead. Love Hannibal
Holy frokin ell Stereolab is one of the best things Ive ever heard in my life!!!
One of the best if not THE best, amazing selections, brilliant stories and what an honest guy.
He knows so much about so many things, and has never heard of Less Than Jake. So good.
I had no idea Hannibal started a music career. Remembered hearing him talk about drill, and excited to see what influenced him. Am not disappointed, always the most interesting interviewees who pick the widest variety of media.
The editing for these videos have gotten sooo much better! This rules!!
Hannibal seems like a real down to earth guy. Great picks, too.
He is not
Bill Cosby said he's a prick
I loved his approach to picks. 👌🏽
Yea, he's gonna use that Less than Jake album as a beer coaster.
Huge shout out to Hannibal for grabbing that Less Than Jake album! LOOOOVE that band!
I’m pleased to see so many comments about LTJ; probably my second favorite ska punk band. Was literally thinking about buying tickets to their upcoming tour right before watching this video!
Best, most fun, band I've ever seen live. (saw them several times in the 90's) *well, definitely the most fun. I was able to watch the Ramones play a few times.
Finally, someone is actually picking out items they don't already seem to have!
I’m a big fan of his work - especially Snail Down
Less Than Jake definitely caught me by surprise lol; was just talking about their upcoming tour right before watching this.
The Warriors ... a timeless classic
That graphic design book is sick, kinda want it
Oh Gruff Rhys! Thanks for reminding me about him! I used to listen to him in college.
Chill guy. Had no idea he was serious into the rap game. Love him on the Eric Andre Show
He forgot to say Questlove is NOT in da house.
Great picks. Seem like a genuine, good dude.
Hannibal is just such an interesting person. Definitely going to check out Putumayo Presents New Orleans Mambo, that little clip hooked me.
Great selection. What a dude
When Hannibal was talking about reappropriating pieces of old graphic design, I immediately thought of Stereolab. Then he pulled out Emperor Tomato Ketchup
I thought he was going to say he picked it for the sleeve design but didn't know the music but no, he digs Stereolab, cool!
I respect his follow up on curiosity. This is cool.
A real one for sure. I'd love to collaborate with Hannibal one day.
Thank you for the recommendations Hannibal!
Great picks!
Glad I stumbled across this
Hannibal got a Less Than Jake cd without knowing at all who they are!!! hahaha
Love him
Incredible he picked Less Than Jake omg
Less then Jake… represent Gainesville, Florida!
Great morning when Hannibal chooses jajouka 😂 holy fuck
Great picks. I need to see Kinshasa Symphony
S'the way we used to roam around book and record stories. All smiles.
Stereolab. Awesome.
Stereolab and Parliament! Hell yeah.
Cool! Hannibal has been one of my favorite dudes for years. And Jajouka is trippy.
There's an album Brian Jones did with them, and yeah it's trippy, haha. And cool. It'll take you places. :-p
Great finds 🤘👽
The Warriors is one the greatest movies EVER.
That shit DOES hit when you’re just walking around, truth Hannibal
I like this WIMB a lot. Less Than Jake- nice! That Freeze Tag track is so damn good!
I recently went to a record fair at my former university and Clones of Dr. Funkenstein was one of the vinyl I picked up. I am also similar to Hannibal in the sense that I will look at something and if I find it visually striking or has an interesting name l will most likely give it a shot and pick it up. Respect Hannibal!
Let's give a quick shout out to Christina Applegate!
Gruff Rhys is the mastermind behind Welsh super-psychedelic-electronic-pop-meisters Super Furry Animals.
Kinda like the Beach Boys meets Massive Attack, with loud guitars.
Rings Around the World is a modern masterpiece of an album.
A total vibe, from front to back.
Cool Cymru!
Saw The Residents this past year. They did God in Three Persons. It was incredible.
He got Less Than Jake! haha I definitely didn't expect that. I wonder if he liked it.
lowkey surprised to have so many likes in common with him! 🥰🤩
Stereolab is amazing!
insane picks tbh
great choices H
love that he got less than jake
Jajouka looked like an episode of the Eric Andre show
hannibal is a one in a million
Fresh!
feel like this is how I would shop if I had money. just grab what looks interesting trying to find something new lol
Such a cool dude
The Warriors video game is amazing! Can't believe he played the game before watching the film! ha!
Gratitude
loved his pick of "Top 15 postpunk songs to evict tenants to"! Not enough epic parasite landlord suggestions!
Based
Hannibal Buress is about to go on a journey with that LTJ Album
dinner party is a nice pick up!
Yes, yes, yes, @Amoeba, many thanks for continuing to omit the interviewer's off-camera voice, which keeps the video flowing smoothly with no detracting off-camera interruptions or interjections.
(As an aside, that History of Graphic Design book looks tasty delicious.)
eeeww please stop
My Men!!🔥
Yeah I knew this was going to be a good one
That Less than Jake has to be the most random thing I've seen in Soo long
Hannibal is hilarious
I had no clue about the whole Doombot thing, thats soooo fucking cool.
Also I fw Hannibal burress musical journey …. Not too many comedians can become recognized for it or balance the two except for Jamie fox and Donald glover (a couple more ppl but I don’t got that much time to be listing off ppl I don’t know)
yes, we hoardin this juice 🧃
🐐
You need to watch the Warriors
Seams like a cool guy to hang with
nice
A man of culture
YOOOOO
Lookin’ good and healthy, my man
That one strand of loc is just getting to me .
he's funny , im starting to like him more
Love some EveryThingIsTerrible lol
Some good shit
stereolab fuck yes
Stereolab is a very based pick.
Sad he didn't get a Cosby Show DVD box set.
love to see some Atlanta reference there. get them Nepalese Space Cake and hit them with Stereolab shit.
Hannibal could sell seashells by the seashorepheus.
One of the best Eric Andre bits
I was really hoping he'd pull out an Iron & Wine record.
Something hilarious about him going with Less Than Jake
Damn, Hannibal. “I was in New Orleans from 2013 to 2017; I had to set up my cousin’s bachelor party.”
4 years to set up a party? “I was waiting for him to meet a girl, vibe, date, propose. I was ready and waiting.”
Someone please share the track playing on the background at 6:07 =P
When did Hannibal get Hair?
