not to be "that guy" but this can expand into a lot of songs even outside of EDM on most tracks, it's really the orchestra that should be appreciated here but IK where you're coming from
@@Keatoil do see where ur coming from but, I’m meaning, I’d like to hear one of marshmallow tracks to sound this fuckin great in symphony form. You could almost pass this into a Han Zimmer score piece!!
Imagine being Joel and hearing your music that you made on a computer in a loft 15 years ago being played by a full symphony orchestra and being cheered on by a concert hall full of your fans.
EDM fans : Strobe is the best track ever made. Masterpiece. It changed my life. It is an emotional journey. It is musical experience like no other. Joel: It sounded ok, my team said we should put in on the album.
It's very well known that what Deadmau5 did when he created this track is produce what is possibly one of the greatest Electronic tracks of all time, and quite possibly the greatest. It really is a masterpiece.
He sent an email to all of us who had tickets prior saying that he would be dressing up, and it would be nice if we did too... I had already flown into town and didn't have anything nice, so I ran over to Nordstrom (in BEVERLY HILLS) to get stuff to wear. Was the one time in my life that I ever splurged on clothes.
Could you imagine how fucking intense it would be playing as a member in the orchestra just knowing the epic build of violins and shit that’s coming...holy man so good...
But EDM is not real music, remember? Its just pushing buttons on a computer. Musical elitists should be forced to watch this then made to take a long walk on a short pier.
I'm pretty sure, Joel messed up his thing @3:49. Think he was one bar early, which I believe to be proven by the angry glance of the cellist to his right :D
First time I heard Rob Dougan’s Instrumental track on furious Angels I had no idea it was techno orchestra. Similar to the album version of strobe -ov it’s so clean and wonderful. Hearing it with a real orchestra is just amazing.
honestly. This touches me. I get goosebumps from this orchestral version since this music was my childhood. Especially the 4x4=12 EP. Thank you Joel you have made my childhood so much more memorable!
huge huge respect for Deadmau5... he is the master in his class..... this shows you how much goes into his tracks..... the orchestra is all of him playing the original track......
Imagine playing in an orchestra and one morning at practice your conductor says "Ok band, I'd like try something new. Take a copy and pass the rest down." and it's sheet music for Strobe. Amazing.
Joel's music was always bittersweet. There was soul to it. While he does make bangers. He's made some pretty tender songs. Strobe is an anthem that resonates within my generation, back when the edm revolution blew up 2007-2014(around that imo). It was a song that left you with good memories. Those times were beautiful, genres broke the norm, pushed the envelope. Sadly all good things end some time, at least for now. It's died down a bit, at least from what I can see. But anyway, this performance encapsulates why Joel Zimmerman is a legend, a great guy, and a true artist. Not bad for a guy who started out in a crappy apartment in Toronto. It's amazing how far he's come.
This song no matter the rendition will bring tears to my eyes. But this one hits different. Thank you Joel for making life so beautiful with your music.
when it starts, I just can't help but sing NIN's Ringfinger: "Well you got me working so hard lately, working my hands until they bleed, if I was twice the man I could be, I'd still be half of what you need. Still you lead me and I follow, anything you ask you know I'll do, this one act of consecration, is what I ask of you".
Goes to show, that not only can a Canadian EDm Record Artist/Producer not only kill at at EDM Concerts, he can also work his magic and using his genius creativity with movie music as well.( hats off to POLAR..you can listen on his movie music debut). The guy's a creative genius. (Drop's mic). Also, this orchestra and conductor, Congradulations. This sounded so beautiful. See what really happens when a colab happens... =D
When your track, from a genre oft-derided by "real musicians", can be arranged for an orchestra like that I think Joel occasionally having an ego the size of a planet is absolutely and rightfully deserved. I've often wondered what Strobe would sound like played by an orchestra and, f__k me, that did not disappoint. Beautiful and spectacular!
So. To the people who are saying that the crowd is bad... No they are not bad. I think they are Joel or Deadmau5 fans who wanted to listen his music in different form. So they applauding and cheering is not bad i think. Why it have to be so stiff and oldfashioned, where you can't jsut show your likeness or express yourself at somepoints? alltough this show was not so oldfashioned in anyway, mixing edm to orchestra. Just let it go.
This is mesmerizing! I just now hear this beautiful master piece! So happy that he connected the dots to create a symphony version. I love this song so much-. Joel.is sure a Genious !
when you put a EDM crowd into an orchestral concert
ikr xD
When you stick a pedestal up your own bum.
Bro I peaked so hard during the adagio
That is called Aural Psynapse
Priceless🤩😍
The fact the crowd instantly knew from the first note; that's a good sign of a timeless classic
For an electronic record to sound amazing in symphony form. Joel is a mastermind of modern electronic music. Fair play to him
If you liked this, I would highly recommend Above & Beyond's Acoustic Album. Its something that I wish would catch on for more artists.
joel????? have you been googling pictures of monkeys again

Strobe is one of the few _"EDM"_ bangers that I think even classical greats like Beethoven would've heard and went "hell yeah."
EDM fans : Strobe is the best track ever made. Masterpiece. It changed my life. It is an emotional journey. It is musical experience like no other.
Joel: It sounded ok, my team said we should put in on the album.
This performance honestly just showcases what a true masterpiece Strobe has always been.
TWIS!
Absolutely correct. It's a truly beautiful piece of music.
It's very well known that what Deadmau5 did when he created this track is produce what is possibly one of the greatest Electronic tracks of all time, and quite possibly the greatest. It really is a masterpiece.
I appreciate that he wears a jacket and tie just like the rest of the orchestra that's respect and class. Bravo
shirt and tie too. And very dapper he looks with it.
靴は赤と黒のコンバースです。

he used to DJ in a suit and tie with the mau5head. very professional for sure
Extremely annoying public. Beautiful music.
probably the first time they went to an event like this, shame that there was no etiquette to respect this magnificent music
And this is why the monophobia music video was made -_-
Strobe is meant to feel like meditation, tranquility and solitude. Hard to get that effect with a bunch of hooting and hollering.
Host: "So how much does this moment mean to you?"
Joel: "it sounded good. Thanks for having me. It's done, now can I go back to my hotel room now?"
Joel: it was ok, i guess 🤷♂️
Could you imagine how fucking intense it would be playing as a member in the orchestra just knowing the epic build of violins and shit that’s coming...holy man so good...
This is exactly what this song deserves. All his others as well. He is a great composer, one of the greatest of our time
But EDM is not real music, remember? Its just pushing buttons on a computer. Musical elitists should be forced to watch this then made to take a long walk on a short pier.
@@DJShadesUK I'm glad to hear someone else use that phrase. It's one of my favorites and it's highly appropriate here
True but idk why he was into black magic as well !!
@@DJShadesUK and composition is not instrumental musicianship, remember? it's just writing notes on a stave.
@@DJShadesUKang on a minute I just smelt the sarcasm, sorry pal. I thought you were one of the elitists

This rendition is up there with any of Hans Zimmer's scores, IMO. Absolutely incredible.
YES !
I'm pretty sure, Joel messed up his thing @3:49. Think he was one bar early, which I believe to be proven by the angry glance of the cellist to his right :D
Well spotted, lol!
I thought he was a bit early but hadn't spotted the cellist... gave Joel such a filthy look! Great catch! 🤣🤣
Crazy mistake cause i think it made it sound cool in the spot it was. Sounds more unique
Needs more cowbell.

The OV’s are easily my favorite deadmau5 albums, I hate that October never gets shown any love, stellar track.
check out "get in the october cart, pig"

Strobe is my favorite out of all of his albums.
I wanna play Strobe, when I travel in space vibe.
honestly. This touches me. I get goosebumps from this orchestral version since this music was my childhood. Especially the 4x4=12 EP. Thank you Joel you have made my childhood so much more memorable!

@@liamcarmody4217 but you get the point

2:30 The brass at this part, max level goosebumps.
😍
Beautifully ominous
I love watching Joel have the time of his life with that stick
Song made me cry half way my god this song will always remain one the best songs in EDM history.
if you could watch the universe be born and die in fast forward this would be the backing track.
That's it.
Nailed it. Totally.
i am so happy for joel
Strobe still hype in 2021.. 😭 i love you Joel like this orchestra version is 🤯🤒
I'm trusting you have already heard Evan Duffys piano rendition.

I can't imagine a scenario in which the conductor of an orchestra would say "Ok band".
7:19 let us all not forget that Joel is a coke inspirator
I thought that Strobe couldn’t get any more beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
More than Strobe, this is Then I Stood Still (ov).

He should use this performance as a bonus edition if he ever puts out another album or anniversary edition.
He made a whole album of classical renditions (including this) with this orchestra it's titled "where's the drop?"
Bellísima canción...que altera los sentimientos del que la escucha.
he is beatiful... Music , mask , real face
here is turkeyyyy :3
This song no matter the rendition will bring tears to my eyes. But this one hits different. Thank you Joel for making life so beautiful with your music.
Truly amazing I went to deadmau5 Hollywood bowl show a month ago and when he started strobe this came on for a bit what a great intro
when it starts, I just can't help but sing NIN's Ringfinger: "Well you got me working so hard lately, working my hands until they bleed, if I was twice the man I could be, I'd still be half of what you need. He is a NIN fan if I am not mistaken? The melody is sort of similar. Good catch.
