Imagine listening to this nonstop. Now imagine that you knew there was actually a creature whispering those things to you. Add in a little magic, and it becomes very easy to imagine how a person becomes a servant of the Old Gods.
some of those y'shaarj quotes kept getting played to me in game, during the last bit of pandaria. took me about 4 months of thinking I was crazy before I realized that corrupted axe that drops from garrosh causes you to hear the whispers randomly...
epicrifftor2 mop was a great xpac to raid in. I did enjoy Siege and Throne of Thunder was great too. Those were the two I did the most of, with my first heroic/mythic kills coming from then. I wish the hunter bow did things like that. I ended up wearing that thing until I maxed out.
Can you imagine if these voices randomly came up more often in Azeroth? Especially in the zones they live or in the starting zones. Randomly as you're wandering through Silithas, "your heart will explode."
“What a nice, lovely Gnomish city! Oh, look, Boralus! Stormwind! Ah, what an enjoyable ride to Northrend, a lovely, desolate pla-“ “BOW DOWN BEFORE THE GOD OF *DEATH!!!”* “Okay, so, I actually need to be crying myself to sleep”
That would make a perfect 'Countdown to Oblivion' scenario, if devs would ever go for one imo. Like raise the frequency of these random voices with each large expansion until Old Gods come to wreck your crap. It would fit the lore perfectly imo.
The sun has settled this mortal world. Make peace with your end , for the hour of twilight falls! Just as all live ends in death, all order must end in chaos! Live is weak! Mortal, fleeting, fragile!
I like how each old god seems to express there own unique personalities through their actions and dialogue. C'Thun's tried to amass an army and take over Azeroth by force and is the least emotional of all the gods, making him seem like a military general of some sort. Yogg'Saron is a sadist who delights in tormenting people and works alongside creatures that mirror his sadistic desires, much like a leader of a criminal gang. N'Zoth is a cunning and intelligent speaker who doesn't control his allies but simply convinces them, so he seems like a dictator or a diplomat. Y'Shaarj is celebrated by the Mantid for his deeds and uses them as a means to an end, acting like a cynical and narcissistic celebrity. All of these old gods seem to represent a kind of corrupt influential figure that seeks to use innocents as a means to an end for their own purposes.
C'Thun -> The only one who killed a titan, probably the second strongest and most grounded, the most military of the old gods, was the only god who created the Qiraj while the others took advantage of the Faceless. Yogg Saron> Little information about him, unless he was deceitful and the third stronger. Yogg Saron was the one who suffered most with the imprisonment, the Titans saw him as the most potentially dangerous after Y'Shaarj death. N'Zoth -> The weakest and most violent, attacked the forces of C'Thun and Yogg Saron, trapped in the bottom of the ocean must have commanded Neptulon. Y'Shaarj -> The strongest and most dangerous, because of this the only one who died. He had more dominion over territories than others.
Old Gods are known for the corruption they spread through their whispers of evil that are focused upon a victim until they are driven mad. Here are a few lines where Y'Shaarj is directly whispering to YOU, the player, in an attempt to weaken you from the inside out; forcing you to commit your own demise from your side of the keyboard in the final encounter of Garrosh: - 4:14 "All that you have accomplished, all that you have won... **laugh** yet still you lick the boots of kings." ((How often do you watch recount and your stats and compare them to everyone else's because of the worry (no matter the size) that your fellow raiders may consider you a hindrance to the effort? Or that you're just a scrub nub? All the time, I know.)) - 6:07 "You do not have the strength to defeat him. You are too weak to carry on." ((Looks like you wiped again for the 10th time today and are gettin' pretty tired of this shit. Garrosh is lookin' fuckin' OP. Wanna try again? Hahahaha!)) - 5:31 "You have already lost." ((Oh look someone wasted a CD too early or a couple people died standing in fire. Why even bother with the rest of this? "GG, wipe, reset plz".))

Makes me think C'thun was quite introverted as an Old God. Quiet, meticulous, calculating. Yogg'Saron sounds sultry, suggestive, charismatic, and armed with a foul temper when angered. Y'Shaarj sounds like he is decrepit, self-important and excessively cruel(even by Old God standards). N'Zoth(?), finally, sounds proud of the Old Gods as a collective, their works and plans, and whereas some of the others may be moody, selfish or too focused on the far future to be proactive, N'Zoth sounds almost like a team leader.
if there is one things old gods cant have is diplomacy, they basically cant even make peace with each other(thats why they defeated) they were fighting each other for ages even before Pantheon arrived. So they arent team... not at all
According to Xal'atath (Knifu), N'zoth is the weakest of the Old Gods. Still, he has caused most damage. He created the Naga, created the Emerald Nightmare (with the help of Yogg'saron) and corrupted Neltharion, making him the mastermind behind the Cataclysm. He will most likely be the main villain of the next expansion.
"It is ironic that the weakest of us may be the ultimate victor. C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, Y'Shaarj, and... well. Only one would remain to consume the world, that was always meant to be." - Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire. N'zoth has played us all for fools. While the Alliance and the Horde squabble with each other, the Black Empire slowly rises from the depths.
Water Nebula Agreed. Even though N'Zoth is the weakest of the Azeroth Old Gods, he seems like the most dangerous. He's practically the master of the long con and manipulation, even by Old God standards.

Stanley Lim It's during the in-game encounter. A vrykul woman (Sara) is seen floating above the pool where Yogg-Saron resides. As you pass the first phase, the above quotes play out in the transition, as Yogg finally makes its appearance.
Piksa I agree, although I don't know if you can call them villains. They're more like forces of nature, doing what's in their nature, which is to breed chaos and destruction. Truly a terrifying bunch.
0:04 my first time wandering into Ahn'Qiraj, i had no idea C'thun would whisper to you. i was running around with friends, headphones on, and the voice was right in my ear. for a bewildered second i wasn't sure if someone had invaded our teamspeak, or maybe my fucking house. it was genuinely terrifying.
Yogg 100% creeps me the most. The little whisper in the back of your mind, and it seems like he has emotion. He seems like the corrupt person trying to "help" you. He seems like he is trying to give you advice and make it better for you, and thats why I think its so effective. Im referring to the whispers, not his full on voicelines in the fight. Also the "Monster in your nightmares" transition from Sara to yoggs voice is amazing
C'thun's voice lines are the most well written by far. He really shows the general idea that the old gods strive for chaos rather than trying to kill everything. This is kinda shown throughout WoW where the true threats arent the ones screaming about how there sooooo powerful and will kill you. Yogg doesnt bring that feeling of psychotic desire for chaos well at all when she just screams that shes gonna kill everyone. Just feels like any other enemy on a power trip rather than an ancient evil corrupting the minds of men. I mean the real "fear" of the old gods comes from them having no real goal other than just driving people mad and causing chaos. You cant predict what they will do or who they have corrupted because they are causing so much messed up shit just for the hell of it.
haha jokes on you I got no friends... end my suffering but on a serious note i really find C'thun voice creepy as fk because he sounds so cold and calm like damn pls stop
are you sure that he will be missed? you know that he ain't dead right? we'll just come back from kicking legion ass and see the old gods running wild and rampaging.
I couldn’t help but laugh at “your heart will explode” it feels like he just started reaching for scary things to say. “Your arm is gonna get infected” “you’re gonna get a splinter”
Wow. I love how unique each of the Old God's voices are. C'thun is creepy and bonechilling, Yogg'saron sounds like the essence of madness and insanity, Y'shaarj's voice is smooth like wind, yet foreboding and terrifying, and N'zoth's voice is bolstering and loud. If he whispered to you it would rattle your mind because of how booming his voice is. I sure hope that this is what he sounds like when he finally reveals himself in game. N'zoth is so shrouded in mystery. There is so much build up towards him and there are rumors that he will finally be revealing himself either by the end of Battle for Azeroth or the very next expansion.
3 years ago, you may look back at this. N'zoth had to be the weakest part of the story and seemed to be rushed. I wish he had more of a expansion rather then a patch. He had so much foreshadowing, the final old god! Yet we never got to see Nyoltha and barely anything from N'zoth himself. The dagger from legion never really when far. I can only hope that we get a expansion on when all the old gods come back and fuse together to be this massive being that is making azroth sick (like leaching on her or she gets sick before she becomes a old god titian.), she would have to be awaken by this point but the heros had to disable the old gods like we do in their prisons or streathen azroth. We then fight back the old gods and azroth is able to go do whatever. But it could also be a stupid idea, idk
Wow, creepy. And those close-up images of them actually just made me realize something: the (known) Old Gods all seem to represent some kind of organ or body part that's present in most organic life forms. C'thun represents the eyes. Yogg-Sauron represents the mouth. Y'Shaarj with its protrusions and multiple arms possibly represents claws, or fingernails. N'Zoth, with its muzzle-like head and sharp protrusions coming from all ends, including sharp spines on his tentacles, seem to draw allusions to teeth, beaks and scale spines. Very, very fitting, coming from the creatures who brought upon the Curse of the Flesh in Azeroth.
@@imadeyoureadthis1 something crazy would have to happen as even during the black empire they warred and it was the cause of their downfall and imprisonment
I know what you mean. Even though I know them well, each time I face Yogg-Saron, I can't help but feel afraid and trembling. I don't dare look at him a lot. He is so terrifying.
1:00 There is no escape, not in this life, not in the next. The void has already shown us that they are capable of invading even the shadowlands, could old gods exist in the shadowlands?
Completely doubtful they can be planted there But they probably can very much get summoned into the Shadowlands if enough servants can make it into there with enough time to do so
Truly nothing is more terrifying in Warcraft then the old gods. Can you imagine one day in the next expansion your just sailing from island to island and then suddenly N'zoth drags you down and in the deepest darkest corners of the ocean. All light fades, blocked out by tentacles who also drag you down further to reveal the massive red glowing eyes of N'zoth not staring at the character but staring at you the player. As you can hear your character struggle for air and release, or hear bones snap from the grip of the old god and the pressure of the deep. He whispers many things into your ear letting you know of his coming return. And rather then die, tentacles wrap around the edges of your screen and poof, brought back to your ship at night realising it was only a dream......or was it? Old Gods are fucking scary.
@@veritasabsoluta4285 Thus you confirm that you do NOT have reading comprehension. The voice that appeared in Blackfathom Deeps is not the voice used for N'Zoth when N'Zoth actually spoke for the entirety of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. Including the quests involving the dagger, and the quests and storyline in the Crucible of Storms raid, let alone the raid of Ny'alotha. Nor is it the same voice from the ending cutscene of the Azshara fight in the Eternal Palace of Nazjatar. Three strikes, and you're out. You are a buffoonish liar and an ignoramus of the highest order.
The Old Gods What's more terrifying is their masters are so much more powerful than anything in the Warcraft Universe. Fortunately, they only exist within the void but should they make it to the Universe, they'll destroy everything.
This is the reason why the Old Gods are so much more scary than the Burning Legion. While the Legion are all like “Harr harr we’re big bad fiery demons that are going to kill you and invade your planet” the Old Gods are much more subtle. They influence you on a much more personal level, whispering, manipulating, warping and altering your mind and personality. They’re calm, deceptive, and calculating, waiting for their enemies to weaken themselves from the inside, to present the opportunity for them to rise and bring chaos upon the world. That, in my opinion, is what makes them scary. Eerie, deceptive subtlety.
@@jorgebersabe293 They have, the Old Gods were made by the Void Lords for the sole goal of corrupting future Titans (When they're still World Souls), so the Void Lords have an extremely powerful being in their crusade against light

C'Thun, Yogg-Saron and Y'Shaarj are all dead, we already knew about Y'Shaarj being killed by titans, it was revealed in the new World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 1 that N'Zoth is the only living Old God on Azeroth.
for now its Tomb of sargeras raid incoming with kil'jaden as final boss. The next content as I heard is about argus home of dranei (we will fight with army of light? againt the legion?) MIGHT BE SPOILERS As i saw leak about next content its going to be about azshara and old gods (N'zoth maybe :> ?) Also if you are curious something might happening with jaina proudmore, read about heart of corruption whispers and connection to her :> She might hear whispers of them already
The voidlords where jeaolous of the titans power, and they couldn't manifest outside of the void for a long period of time. They decided to control de pantheon, but fully grown titans where too strong, so they sent the old gods to corrupt a world soul and create a void titan (which is described as the most powerful and terrifying being that could exist. Sargeras was scared of the void titan and the horrors of the void itself, so he decided cleanse all life on the universe because he thought that a universe with no life is better than one controled by the void. He also believed that if life once took roots, it could happen again, and thus he justified his Burning Crusade and the creation of the Legion.
the real lore of the encounters is very iffy, but it seems like the things you fight when fighting them are just the very fingertips of the gods' true power, just a measly chunk of what they could do to a mortal being... or so i believe

May I ask who is the one who actually said these and which part of the lore? Is it a spirit or manifestation created by Yogg-Saron?
Stanley Lim It's during the in-game encounter. A vrykul woman (Sara) is seen floating above the pool where Yogg-Saron resides. As you pass the first phase, the above quotes play out in the transition, as Yogg finally makes its appearance.
these are the most badass vilains in wow imo
Piksa I agree, although I don't know if you can call them villains. They're more like forces of nature, doing what's in their nature, which is to breed chaos and destruction. Truly a terrifying bunch.
“I am the Lucid Dream... the monster in you’re nightmares... the fiend of a thousand faces.”
C'thun's voice sounds like young Palpatine
Zoltán Halmay and why big eye talk so bold? Hit someone him.
That's because he wants you to dew it
C'thun is the most terrifying. It feels so real.
He can be Yogg-Saron most terrifying for me lol something of a mind breaker that one is.
TREMBLE BEFORE MY TRUE FORM!
Casts Polymorph centred on self
All shall bow before Sheep'Saron in the end! His maddening baa's echo through out the ages.
But they do have a real goal though, they were created and sent by the Void for purpose of corrupting World Souls.
I feel the same way about Yogg's voice, tbh..
if thats n'zoths actual voice, he's now my favorite old god
Christopher Hernandez Ashzara? Warbringers short reveals his voice
You realize he posted that a year ago, right?

haha jokes on you I got no friends...
end my suffering
but on a serious note i really find C'thun voice creepy as fk because he sounds so cold and calm like damn pls stop
His voice has no emotion at all
Rip
Yogg saron spooks me as if he wants me to kill my allies.
Reminds me of System Shock 2 The Many voice
Brotherhood his voice is great I wish I had it
Cthun is kind of scary...so emotionless and cold
I like how this video is categorized as "Music"
Huh, I didn't know it was under Music, I'm sure I had put it under Gaming. Thanks for pointing that out.
Many: *goes crazy from the voices*
You: "Love you too sweetie, nuhnight."
Old gods: "wha..?"
Fuck the nerfs Frog'Saron will be missed ;c
lolimancer Nuko ;(
lolimancer Nuko lmao frog'saron im done
lolimancer Nuko rolf Frog-Saron well yeh I agree he rly seems to be xD
are you sure that he will be missed? you know that he ain't dead right? we'll just come back from kicking legion ass and see the old gods running wild and rampaging.
SuccItNigga its unlikely, old gods are massive entities it takes really really long time before they gather some of their power.
"Your will is no longer yours" Sounded like Lich King in the DK starting quests. "Your will is not your own"
Wasn`t Yogg-Saron`s whispers responsible for Arthas going crazy?
ASDRION TM Yeah... and the entirety of higher levelled northrend, with all of the Saronite going around.
Ah yes i member.
I couldn’t help but laugh at “your heart will explode” it feels like he just started reaching for scary things to say. “Your arm is gonna get infected” “you’re gonna get a splinter”
Pretty sure C'thun's next threat was going to be "You will be turned away from a Wal-mart for not wearing a mask...."
5:02 Most epic and frightening line. I would definitely lose my mind if I were to hear that xD
Do you do tho. Its in one of the transition phases during Mythic Garrosh in SoO
Ok. I didn't play during MoP. I wish I had though
@@Nexerist and now we got Shadowlands Sadge
YOGG-SARON IS FUCKING TERRIFYING well before he starts yelling
4:06 is so badass. The way Y’Shaarj says “Make them!” gives me chills
Out of all of these, 1:13 is the most painful because it’s not inherently threatening or scary, it just hits deep.
Y'Shaarj has to be the most convincing of them all
Hence why he was the first one to die.
Some nice old god ASMR to chill to
Man I wish we got to see Y'Shaarj in his full former glory.
Josh Larry leave it to blizzard they will canon him back into the game some how in his full glory
Only if we go back to the past. Which wouldn't be surprising with the Infinite dragonflight! :)
"All eyes will be open" - N'Zoth
That scream scared the FUCK out of me. I didn’t expect it, so the first time I was watching this video it completely caught me off guard. Jesus.
WHSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
D Snow bless you
AS YOU COMMAND, MY DARK LORD!
Videogamefangirl I think y'shaarj looks more like a ribcage and other bones
C'thun: Your friends will betray you...
C'thun: You will betray your friends...
Me: WhatIsTheTruth.gif
Great motivational words spoken right there ;)
"your friends will betray you...."
*someone ninja loots gear*
"... well i warned you"
C'thun has a nice sounding voice, it get's my asmr going to hear him.
I think the N'Zoth is supposed to be all of them talking togeter :)
like the lich king? imagine them all merging at some point
kiriakos reggis Basically the Prime Evil, as if the Old Gods aren't similar enough to the Old Gods.
@@imadeyoureadthis1 something crazy would have to happen as even during the black empire they warred and it was the cause of their downfall and imprisonment
1:23
R.I.P. headphone users.....
Yeah, pretty much. PS, sorry headphone users!
I have schizophrenia and C'thun is litteraly what I hear
not much else scares me in games, but jesus fuck the old gods scare me
I know what you mean. Even though I know them well, each time I face Yogg-Saron, I can't help but feel afraid and trembling. I don't dare look at him a lot. He is so terrifying.
Millhouse Manastorm Mhhahahaha
But you are mighty Millhouse Manastorm! is common knowledge than your 30 second spell cast can easily fuck and old god.
1:24 is when the scream happens, for those anxiously waiting for it. Scares the crap out of me every time.
Ah yes the best way to sleep a cup of tea and the maddening voices of the old gods
Damn straight it's a cuppa!
Imagin of the people on earth who are like mentaly ill and hear voices acturly hear the old gods deep within earth trying to get free
1:00 There is no escape, not in this life, not in the next. The void has already shown us that they are capable of invading even the shadowlands, could old gods exist in the shadowlands?
Completely doubtful they can be planted there But they probably can very much get summoned into the Shadowlands if enough servants can make it into there with enough time to do so
"your heart will explode" wtf who comes up with this kind of shit ? i love it
FOR RNGESUS YOGG-SARON! TAKE MY SOUL FOR THE TURN 10 LETHAL!

BWAHAHA WILD LETHAL! FACE THE POWER OF: Iron Hide Iron Hide Iron Hide Iron Hide

Um...
Embrace the shadow!
Hmm...
TREE OF LIFE.
Lord of Argus honestly yeah I came up with that myself.......I listen to a lot of creepypastas. :I
Y'Shaarji is so damn creepy but I can't get enough of him! It's like my mind is being forced to listen
*Oh fuck*
Mortal. Now that you heard out whispers... it is only a matter of time... untill you belong to us.
"You will learn no King rules forever" :D
He will learn*
Yogg-saron prophesying Arthas' death.
C'thun definitely coolest Old God imo!
0:04 "OMAE WA MOU SHINDEIRU" -C'thun
N'zoth needs more spotlight.
No wonder Neltharion turned into Deathwing. If I had no escape from listening to these voices for aeons on end, I'd go insane as well.
I certainly hope that is N'zoth's voice, because MAN that is beautifully horrific!!
Nope... that wasn't N'Zoth. The actual voice of N'Zoth can be heard in the defeat cinematic for Queen Azshara.
@@laertesindeed It actually is, it is his voice from Black Fathom Deeps
@@veritasabsoluta4285 Do you lack reading comprehension....?
@@laertesindeed Nope, you do though, because you clearly said it wasn't his voice you idiot
The Old Gods
What's more terrifying is their masters are so much more powerful than anything in the Warcraft Universe.
Legion formed to fight the old gods. Just saying.
The scariest thing? The Old Gods don't really have a reason to do what they are doing. They simply cause chaos and corruption for its own sake.
@@jorgebersabe293 They have, the Old Gods were made by the Void Lords for the sole goal of corrupting future Titans (When they're still World Souls), so the Void Lords have an extremely powerful being in their crusade against light
0:08 *OMAE WA MOU, SHINDEIRU!*
YOU ALL TURNED AGAINST ME; YOGG-SARON OPENED MY EYES
I love C'thun!
C'thun be like "omae wa mou shindeiru".
"Your heart will explode" Well no shit... since you just Eye-beamed the shit out of me
6:40 that voice fit perfect!
+linkzellda Indeed, I'm pretty sure the voice does belong to N'Zoth, he is the last living Old God on Azeroth after all.
+3DTyrant Yogg saron and C'thun are still alive but back in their prison
i hope they made any new expansion which gonna be about old gods lorewise..it is so fantastic and interesting lore..idky why they still wanna make timelapse bullshits and stuff like that:D... only dead old god should be yshaarj which happends after her hearth just fall apart after garrosh defeat. others are alive in prisons :) xD or atleast out of their "flesh" bodies
C'Thun, Yogg-Saron and Y'Shaarj are all dead, we already knew about Y'Shaarj being killed by titans, it was revealed in the new World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 1 that N'Zoth is the only living Old God on Azeroth.
+Hans Johnson that has been errata'd as well. They could probably reveal one due to the ambiguity of the lore, but for now there are (or were) 4.
I wonder how long someone could listen to this on repeat in an isolated room before they went insane.
Can't wait for my heart to explode in classic! ♥💥😃
See u soon AGAIN!! Cthun
I seriously hope N'Zoth appears in Legion. There's been so much speculation, and there are so many hints towards N'Zoth... it just HAS to happen!
He does, there is a large, large chance that he'll be the expansion's last boss.
check out the voice lines from Il'gynoth, you may find some interesting stuff there
Glich A last Boss ;'D
I don't play WoW but I find these parts of the lore interesting. Did it happen?
for now its Tomb of sargeras raid incoming with kil'jaden as final boss. The next content as I heard is about argus home of dranei (we will fight with army of light? againt the legion?) MIGHT BE SPOILERS
As i saw leak about next content its going to be about azshara and old gods (N'zoth maybe :> ?) Also if you are curious something might happening with jaina proudmore, read about heart of corruption whispers and connection to her :> She might hear whispers of them already
C'thun is so ... unsettling.
looks like demons are cute in front of old gods :p
and sargars looks cute compared to the void lords
Tntofdoom Void Titan > Sargeras > Pantheon > Void lords > Old gods > Argus (world soul) > Pantheon (Post Legion) > Aggramar (reconstructed) > Kil'Jaden >= Archimond >The player as in Legion> Deathwing > Void infused Garrosh > Ragnaros (firelands) >Lich king > Yogg Saron (as in Ulduar) > C'thun (as in Ahn'Qiraj) > Ragnaros (as in Molten Core)... > Hogger > Random 1 hp mob.
Titanium Man Voidlors are stronger than the pantheon.Thats why sargeras became who he is now.
Titanium Man Wrong Hogger is easily the most powerful on that list!
N'zoth's line: "Our sacrifices shall tear the flesh from your bones," literally gives me chills.
that helps me sleeping better
N'Zoth sounds better here that current WoW voices for him
When you fight Yogg and C'Thun... Is that just their head?
DeadliestPotato there both a octopus like creature they remind me if Ultros from final fantasy 6
They are avatars of the old gods you are fighting.
the real lore of the encounters is very iffy, but it seems like the things you fight when fighting them are just the very fingertips of the gods' true power, just a measly chunk of what they could do to a mortal being... or so i believe
They are just parts of the old gods real corpse.
No. It's the nail of their left pinkies
Cthun has been dicating my life ever since i 1st heard that cursed voice ....
I am here for the N'zoth hype
If i had to worship one of these guys it would be N'Zoth.
0:11 nice try C'Thun, I don't have friends in the first place
You might to have to update this soon hopefully! ;)
