One detail that a lot of people fail to notice it's that donkeys are the animals who represent hard work, the animals who carry a lot of things and etc, so it's a really nice touch this animals been in every scene
Can we also appreciate her being a large, non-stereotypical young woman and they showcased her DANCING. A lot of bigger people think they can't or shouldn't dance because of their body type. I love that disney gave us a big, strong "princess" to idolize.
Seeing her face literally breaks my heart she’s my all time favorite character. They ask such insane tasks and everyone expects her to just do it no problem like RE-ROUTE THE RIVER??? Insane.

It's funny. When most people see the ship, they scoff at it, because it kind of is out of place in the show, since they aren't close to a body of water, and the kids have probably never seen a ship, since the mountains that grew up to protect them also keep them separated off from the world. I found though, that the ship really has a lot of meaning behind it. Her line, "The ship doesn't swerve as it heard how big the iceberg is" is especially telling of her life, at least in my mind. Everybody is so used to her fixing everything so effortlessly, as least in their minds, that they don't bother to plan or respond properly anymore. Just look at the lists of demands on her time before the song started. She moved a church over a number of feet. She realigned a house. Someone asked her to redirect the river. The job she was doing when Merabel caught up to her was collected donkeys that got out, while the owner seemed to be doing nothing himself. Even before, during the intro song, she moved a bridge to another part of the river. Every single one of those things was really unnecessary if people had just planned properly in the first place or had responded to what was going on around them. So, just like with the example of the ship, why didn't the captain just turn the boat to avoid the iceberg? Because why should they exert even that much effort when they can rely on her to smash the iceberg. She was so willing to do all the hard work in the town, under pressure from her Abuela, that the town just got plain lazy.
I have watched this music video multiple times and it still hits hard every time. This and We Don’t Talk About Bruno are my two favorite although the message behind What Else Can I Do is the deepest in my opinion.
One of my favorite moments from this is around 5:25 where she talks about having to carry the burdens of the whole family, punctuated by the imagery of the Madrigal House landing on her.

Luisa is how you write a Strong Female Character right. She is strong, but she is not standoffish or rude or self important, she is humble, she helps others without conplaint or condescension toward less strong individuals. She is a Likeable person. Modern Writers, take note! ^.-.^

I really don't know why but in Italy during the scene with the boat the adapter change the words of the song in "Dietro il suo aspetto perfino il Titanic perfetto aveva un difetto" that means something like "Behind its appearance even the perfect Titanic had a lack". We lose all the reference to the iceberg but in the movie is more powerful this new line. Because is immediatly clear that Abuela wants that all the Madrigal are "perfect" in her view, but that Luisa knows that perfection doesn't extist.
The songs and music in this movie always touched me deep in my heart. Hi Cat hope you are doing good in 2022 I hope this year is even better for you and everyone than 2021 was. Maybe for your next video you could watch the movie George of the jungle and the sequel movie George of the jungle 2 as a suggestion.
