I like how weird paul doesn’t cringe watching himself as a kid, unlike many other RUclipsrs
As someone who has made a ton of goofy videos, though not in my youth, my family didn't own a video camera when I was a kid... And put it on public access television and RUclips... I have become desensitized or shameless (or both) about the cringe factor. Weird Paul has made so many videos that he is likely over any embarrassment others would have over videos of them acting silly in their youth. :-) I'm grateful, since if he were embarrassed, he'd have never shared them with us.

I have no idea what keeps me coming back to this video, but something does! Paul comes across like such a cheerful guy, who's probably more in-touch with his inner child than anyone else I've ever seen. The dude was willing to recreate a daft video he made as a kid on a Camera, and slapped onto a VHS.

We still have English Muffins (though we just call them "muffins here :D) in some McDonalds in the UK for breakfast, but some get really boring and just give you a slice of toast.
Absolutely no where at all sells biscuits in the UK though, you can't even get them in supermarkets or pre-made ingredients. you have to make them from scratch.

That sucks about biscuits. Well, if you like them anyways. I don't go to McDonald's often, but when I do, I always get the biscuit breakfast sandwiches. Too good to say no to for me. lol

Those 80s cameras had surprisingly good mics, usually a shotgun condenser. Even into the 90s when I had a 4-track recorder and mixer to mic things we still just used an old camera just like that to record band practice and shows, just for its ability to get everything in pretty evenly and clearly. Wish it were mine, I would kill to have footage of growing up like Weird Paul has! I did record a lot of bad comedy audio tapes, though. Lol

The 80s were my "fond days" here in VA though our "big breakfasts come w/ everything you get but we have 2 buttermilk pancakes as well... We moved when I was seven, but I still keep in contact with the old neighborhood. You went to school with "Tony Joe" .. he lived across the street from me and I still keep in touch with him to this day. I saw he had a cameo with the microphone in one of your garage concert videos.
And now that breakfast is $5.89 where I live. 😬 Price changed more in 8 years than in 30.

Helderhugo Thanks for checking out my channel! I did do these videos for fun. I also took them into my high school a couple times to show my class. I had seen other people's home movies on TV in 1983, on a network special, so I guess I thought maybe they could be on TV sometime. And now, 30 years later, they ARE going to be on TV! At least here in the Pittsburgh areas!
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL I wish I had a video camera in 1984 or before. I have always loved these things to capture sound and image. And only in 1990 managed to gather enough money to buy a video camera and managed to gather friends to do several sketches and video clips, etc. Until 1990 I only had audio recordings since I was 5 years old. Yet looking back, I regret not having shot more, apart from people, including sites that are now completely modified and revise old footage give an incredible sense of nostalgia and sometimes disbelief. The clothes and hairstyles of the people and the cars already seem so old so quickly. We see it in movies, on TV, etc. But when we see our footage we were even more amazed. As your glasses in 1984. These glasses are still the same as used in 1984? Also always used glasses since kid. In 1984 I was older than you I was 16 years old. I see that you're still shooting in analog VHS. It is purposeful? or films in digital and then switches to analog and then back to digital to put on youtube?
Those are the very same glasses, yes. I still have glasses, but I usually wear contacts. I do not have a digital camera, that is the main reason that I shoot on analog VHS. After doing it for 3 years now, I have gotten used to it. I also have audio recordings since I was 5 years old. And also like you, I wish I had filmed more than just the 130 hours that I did film.
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL This is a curious thing continue filming on VHS. I never had a video camera VHS but had to Video 8 which is basically almost the same analog system. Despite my camera Analog longer be in great shape, I left the idea to shoot in low resolution and in older formats. And even though I had my first digital camera in Digital 8 format and not being in HD. I preferred to find a way to shoot in Full HD. But looking at your videos on classic analog VHS format even makes sense. As mixing the past with the present, everything fits in the same format. Looking old and modern at the same time. Creating an artistic retro look. And because in the future will be no more analog low resolution video available to record new stuff. Many times I used the low resolution analog video to create "video art".
I am filming with a Video 8 camera, but I don't film onto the Video 8 tape. I take the output of the camera into a VCR and film onto VHS, then digitize it. It does make some kind of sense. I have stockpiled blank tapes so I can continue to do this for a long time. Video art!

Hi. New subscriber here. I really enjoy your videos. I live in the Pittsburgh area also, and went to McDonald's almost every Sunday for breakfast as a kid in the 80s. It was the Belle Vernon PA one to be exact. The big breakfast or hotcakes and sausage were my favorites. I looked forward to tearing open that environmentally unfriendly styrofoam container and digging in. People don't believe me when I say the flavor and quality of everything has changed, but this video proves it really has. I hardly ever go to McD's anymore. Thanks for posting these great memories.

Yeah, a lot of that room has not changed in 30 years.
The big breakfast comes with a biscuit now. When I order the big breakfast, I always tell them to substitute the biscuit for a english muffin, which every mcdonalds I ever been to will do this no extra charge. I then order a sausage mcmuffin, no egg or cheese so then I have a extra sausage patty and extra english muffin to eat with my big breakfast since they are identical.

the best thing McDonald's had in the 80s for breakfast was the Danish they used to have. I loved when they put the Danish I the hearing contraption they used. they would put the Danish in this square thingy then pull down a handle and it would cover it and make a cool sound. do remember that Paul?

I haven't had a McD's breakfast in a while, and they serve breakfast all day now! The last time I had a McD's breakfast, it was pretty much like the one in this video, but it also had hotcakes. I think it's called the Deluxe Breakfast. There's also their sausage & egg breakfast burritos, and with some hot sauce, they're quite tasty!

2 days before the anniv, I found a Joey doll like yours, but sadly left it at Goodwill. Buttermilk = American muffin? I liked the old milkshakes they had. Somewhere I have 70's pics of me eating at MCD's.
