      Giving melee healers some extra reach would be huge, would love to see that. Planning on maining MW and rDruid in TWW

      I would add more damage through healing abilities rather than healing through damage, which would make balancing healers a lot easier and normalize dps potential between healers.

      separate fist and mistweaver completely and give ranged mistweaver some damage too. Also make incoming damage less burstier and the health harder to top.

    I completely agree with you about the range limitation of the Evoker. They need to increase the range for spells like Dispel, Living Flame, and Echo. On the other hand, I love playing Evoker so much that I will continue to play it, but it would be a real bonus if they adjusted the range.

      Am i silly or is there just a very simple fix for the range issue, by just adding a choice node to the tree for throughput/range, like 3%overall/5yards, so you can switch if needed.

      @@nilohermes6447 That depends on how much throughput they have. The 2nd half of season 1 and season 2, they were the next to the lowest healer in throughput while giving 0 absorbs. How can you justify bringing them down an additional 5% to still not have as much range as other healers. You can just play a different healer

      ​@@nilohermes6447 Increasing throughput most often does not decrease the burden of the range limitations. External defensives, dispels, and an excessive amount of planned movement are the largest burden for Prevoker.

    I'm with you and AJ with lowering the defensive in the game. I've been healing since Wrath, and I miss the days when I could take a drink without someone getting one shot. If they lower the number of defensives and/or their power, they could have a steadier damage profile that can still feel challenging without the constant fear of "oh that person isn't at 100%, if something goes out they'll die!". Lowering the damage profile would also mean that their "we want healers to think about mana" thing from Dragonflight, would be less punishing because we'd have the TIME to think about it instead of spamming our most inefficient heal in hopes that no one will drop dead from a one shot. It would also cut down on the amount of overhealing we feel we need to do.
    This would mean the encounter designers wouldn't have to put in so many one shot mechanics, which would be nice.
    Just because some classes have all these defensives/utility available to them, doesn't mean they all USE them. I lost track of how many times this xpac I went into a key and none of my dps had interupts/CC/dispels and the affixes were all on me. (I also hate the current "new" talent trees...)

    30y range is probably going to be the factor that makes me reroll to MW, instead of sticking with Pres. I don't want to do it anymore, not being able to reach half the raid on some bosses sucks ass.

    You and Jak have the same thoughts on defensives and both of you talked about cata. To me, all defensives for dps should go which means that healing in content can be less bursty because people cant use defensives to mitigate content. Would love to see a discussion video between the two of you, maybe growl as well

    Hpal spenders and Holy shocks are doing basically the same numbers relatively to our Health Pool in TWW compared to DF S4.
    If Hpal goes live like this it will once again be the only C tier healer for a third season straight. Not even mentioning the disaster of the the spec tree and button bloat the spec currently has

      I found it funny that I had way more fun healing on my Cata Holy Pally than my Dragonflight HPal. HPal peaked in the BFA (Corruption) final patch, was the most fun its ever been and I feel like they just decided to gut it since then

      @@Crobian I feel ya since hpal in Cata is simple yet effective. Hpal in DF and beta TWW has button bloat and spells that do almost no healing. Need like 3-4 buttons just to top a player. Shit design. I wish they will bring back legion holy pala... it was so much fun.

      I still miss Legion as the best hpal interaction. Glimmer and holy power aren't adding to the spec for a while. I'll just play shaman while this playstyle lasts, got done with it by s3 df

      Hpally is fine in raids, in fact healer balance in raids has been at its best in a long time, which is sad because it's overshadowed by the fact it's a fated season. They just need to help hpally in keys for the most part, just like with rsham.

    My main gripe with pres is that we have nothing going for us to offset the negatives of range limitations or cone heals, they also are trying to make dreamflight better in the war within for dungeon content which is just another heal that requires you to have everyone position perfectly for you to get most benefit. You don't have crazy amounts of tankiness compared to other healers, we don't have throughput better than every healer, we don't spot heal better, We don't do better damage then most healers, you're basically only playing pres cause you enjoy the healer and not cause it's decent at all.
    In season 3 i quit the last monthish of it but i got to rank 14 pres world and the whole reason i quit was first off getting invited to groups as a pres when resto druid exist is almost impossible at the 3.7k range, but you have to play every dungeon perfectly and even then you don't do anywhere close to half the other healers that were good last season.
    I know it's why blizzard won't do anything about it cause people are still upset that pres was so strong half a season at the start of the expac, *mainly crybaby resto druid* but the only way for pres to be meta is to make them excel at something for their range limitations, but that just won't happen, and i highly doubt blizzard will do much about it.

    so devs want you to shape shift into druid cat form to do dps but doesny let you shapeshit into boomkin form even though the other hero talent tree is meant for spell damage another weird decission

    I totally agree with HPally range, especially looking at their mastery, where you will be doing more healing to close people and be running around between melee and range dps while doing damage yourself.

    I just installed tww beta to try out holy priest. Got repulsed to the point of regretting i preordered it. Im a healer main but also an altoholic. I want to play them all or atleast give them a try. But because I dont have that much time anymore to play the button bloat and DF talents make me instantly demotivated. I feel like in order to learn a new healer from scratch or come back to a spec I havent played in a long time requires too much time and effort (maybe even leveling from the start to learn stuff). The complexity of legion class design was almost perfect for me and I havent played since cata until legion. Bfa was fine too (i played all healer except holy pala and learned how to play them quickly, it was intuitive) DF is atrocious in this regard and it seems like its just gonna get worse with Hero talents in TWW. I played resto shaman and druid in DF. Lets say in TWW I feel like playing MW monk which i last played in Bfa. Where do I start ffs the entire spec is so different and alien. Ofc great guides exists but cmon it seems like I have to study for uni exam to somewhat understand how a spec is played. Now Im not adcovating for dumbing things down too much, it will make the classes boring, but this is too much. Guess Il stick to my 2 restos and just forget about MW or disc. Not sure if its too late now for blizz to change stuff, but hope your feedback is heard. Great video !

    I have a question about healers. Can you kill healer 1v1 (lets say in duel), because its made to be impossible in DF, and which class can kill which healer?

    I guess I'm going to keep playing my fistweaver for The War Within. I had a lot of fun playing it in S4, turning chi burst and zen pulse into passives was the right move I rarely press those buttons but I agree they need some sort of range increase for their abilities.

    Button Bloat is not necessarily an issue, it's down to how many buttons you have to press in any given timeframe. I don't want to play a game with only 5 buttons total, then we're playing an arpg, but I don't want to press 15 different buttons every 30s. Even if you had more keybinds it's not a big deal to press some buttons in less comfortable places if they're pressed infrequently, or have specific use cases. The issue arises when they're never used, or when they're used too often.
    In saying that, I'm all for making spells more dynamic, I like the direction they're going with that, and that's exactly what I've wanted for years.
    The issue with defensives is exactly one of imbalance. If you over do it with defensives for some classes, then those without defensives are sometimes unusable on some encounters, or fall off even in pvp pretty hard. I'm not entirely against having a few defensives, I like options, but I hate full immunities that still allow you to deal maximum damage. I like defensives to be something that requires thought, something that requires you to make a good decision about using.

    For dragon range maybe give them 40yds but make healing drop off after 30yds incrementally to 40 yds. Or add a longer charge to hit 40yds and maybe adds a little more to the CD

    Evoker range limitations are annoying but its something I have learned to dealt with and really enjoy the spec. I wish they would increase the range to 40 yds OR allow you to cast empower spells when hover is active. That I feel would solve a lot of issues

    Heroic Dathea in Vault made me quit raiding. Constantly being out of range as a preservation Evoker, I just noped out. It was an experiment, it failed. They need to accept that and iterate.

    From a healers perspective (Resto Druid), I shouldn’t have to shift forms and pop defensive cooldowns to survive aoe damage on trash pulls, while simultaneously trying to keep everyone else alive….. which can’t happen while shifted into defensive form….. the only people who should have defensive abilities are tanks.

    I started an evoker at the start of dragon flight but stopped playing because I mainly heal on my paladin and evoker had the range issue and preservation evoker is more thought process then my H paladin.

    Preservation evoker here, been playing as a main all through this xpac. Absolutely agree. All base single target abilities should be 40 yards. I can play around the range issue, but I hate that I have to ask folks to play around my limitations on certain bosses. Since we aren't dishing out numbers like we were in season 1, give us what everyone else has. And you really have to look at this from a pizza standpoint, because it's not intuitive that a 30 yard range vs a 40 yard range is a significant difference in area: 30 yards is 2827, 40 is 5026, and 45 is 6361. So it doesn't sound big with radius numbers, but our area of effective healing is less than half of a resto druid. That is a significant limitation that we can do nothing about.
    And if they keep designing bosses like Nymue where everyone is spread out and you are penalized for moving around? No way anyone is going to be playing this spec.

    I want Pres to be my main in TWW, but the range is the #1 reason I don't think I can. It just brings extra frustration to PUGs I don't have for any other healer.

    Honestly im ok with button bloat i know it makes things harder to learn but currently for example because of trimming druids have been ruined they have gone from a utility knife to a one bladed pocket knife needing to change there talents for every single fight every single dungeon endlessly so many abilitys are locked into the talent trees in ways they will never get used or cant fit, they need to change how ability's get used and stored not just block them or delete them for example with the spellbook have ability match the form such as wrath is shred when your in cat form and maul when in bear so now its 1 ability instead of 3 in the spellbook. And add more upgrade ability systems for classes when they work for example with restro druid when using a upgrade ability regrowth becomes wild growth and so forth. This way we can reduce the amount on the bars dramatically without trimming the class to 4 buttons.

    Dream of cenarius looks really bad, why not allow damage through rip/rake and sunfire/moonfire ? Feels more doty and hoty playstill than the fillers that wrath and shred are .... Right now you go to cat form to apply 3-4 rake then dump CP into a rip which is already half the duration of the 10 sec buff and you did not use any of the ability from the buff ...

    I been asked to main healer in the next xpac and been trying to find a fun spec to play because lets face it for hc raiding and up too 15 keys all can do it. so fun is the main priority for me. and you hit the nail on the head with button bloat... its not fun having so many key binds for what feels like no real reason. I have legit used passive trinks because of it. only real healer i do not want to play is monk but thats just because i mained monk all of dragon flight and would like a change.

    I like defensive but I don't like certain ones like shadowpriest having to stack fade, power word shield and a flash heal pre hit to survive. It's not fun. Maybe just hitting a fade should be good enough

    I can tell you one thing they need to work on and that is the amount of DPS healers are doing they should just make it to where healers are having more healing chicks less free time to DPS. That’s not to say that they should just take DPS away from healing but the amount of DPS buttons I’m hitting during adungeon is almost more than my healing buttons

    Another huge problem with Evoker is the lack of healer mobility. That may sound weird because class moves fast and has a lot of mobility in theory BUT in practice hover doesn't allow you to cast empowered spells while moving and these are the most important.
    Basically any boss who has abilities that combine lots of aoes you need to dodge combined with damage you need to heal you have to do really overcomplicated things while other healers either don't care or just do very simple stuff to overcome such mechanics (like shaman has a REAL cast on the move button).
    At the very least Blizz should add a talent that makes spiritbloom a simple spell (instead of empowered) so that you can cast it after hovering or smth like that.
    I'm straight up skipping season 4 to restore my mentality coz some of the bosses in DF were so frustrating to the point of being traumatizing xD Im a gamer all my life with a history of tryharding in very toxic games (like League of Legends for example) and some of the bosses from Dawn of the Infinite were the first time I was hitting the table with my head and screaming to the monitor. The amount of shit I had to make up with echoes, cooldown rotation etc. for the bosses some other healers were straight up healing pressing like 2 buttons made me have the longest break from WoW I've ever taken.
    I'm still going to main evoker since it's extremely fun 90% of the time. But other 10% are so infuriatingly frustrating that I REALLY hope blizz will do something about it. Or at the very least stop overlapping 'dodge a lot of aoe' and also 'heal everybody like crazy' mechanics.

    Id say the risk reward of being a melee healer under the current circumstances is what makes you excell as a melee healer. Remove the danger aspect, and it becomes dull.
    Dont remove scenarios or mechanics thats forcing players to evolve. If its Nummerical impossible to heal this boss because the downtime is X. then sure its a problem.
    But do not remove the possibility to excell and outmanouver other players and evolve beyond your own skill level over time.
    thats what put us in the place where Main healers since start of M+ lost the core mentality of that role, TO be able to heal.....

    Regarding defensives, I've always thought that Tanks should be able to block or mitigate damage, but not heal themselves (which I appreciate would destroy DK's and DH). Tank should have a super ability like "player sacrifice" for example where they can pick up the closest raider and use them as a shield for an ultimate hit making that player unressable for the fight or something fun like that. Dps shouldn't be able to heal, but instead should be able to use an ability that spreads the damage into a dot, and actually give healers something to do. In a M+ setting, healers have to do everything - dps, heal, interupt, purge, cc, manage mana, heal the stupid dps continuing to hit the add as they run away from the tank -_-. However in a raid setting, its more pure healing, interrupts and then dps once the raid as settled into each raid tier difficulty. It would nice to see them going back to basics with tanks tanking, dps dpsing, and healers actually healing. They seem to have introduced hero talents which look fun, but I think they could introduce some raid specific talents or raid specific affixes maybe to spice it all up. I'm not totally blizz bashing, as they do try new things each expansion and although they don't always get it right, having played for 20 years, I appreciate the fact that they do try new things. Agree or disagree I have 64 max level healers and a warrior we don't talk about :). Love the videos, watched you since the beginning, keep doing what you're doing. Paxsir-Kazzak

    I main heal since wrath, now mostly only m+. I feel healing feels less and less rewarding to the point, where i think, for what i am good for? To dispell tanks, to save dps from bursting when they like to get 7 to 8 stacks and to play the affixes.
    There is no feel like, wow i saved the key or such. If i die to a own failiure or mechanic one shot, the tank just happily finishes the boss without me.
    NO 3rd boss, they don't even bother to rezz me, they don't need a healer. Vexamus 3 bombs bearer die to mechanic overlap, the tank finishes it off (on tyrannical).
    So what is the healer really good for? Dispells, mediocre damage and playing annoying affixes?
    The new "shuffle" of talent tree points for some healers and uninspired hero talents make me regret to have preordered tww.

    Do tanks need help tanking? No.
    Do dps need help dpsing? No.
    So healers should not need help healing.
    It’s not popular but defensives should be purged from all classes and boss abilities rebalanced accordingly. It will simply dungeon design and it will make gameplay interesting for all roles.

      The problem is sustain while questing and solo play. Blizzard wanna give all the dps some way to stay alive . So how do they accomplish that while removing it all? Disabled in dungeons only? Maybe if that’s something blizzard can do. And what if they are based on talent points etc? I can’t see blizzard reworking the entire system.

    Resto Druid: should not have lost moonkin form, fluid form should be on the left of the general tree, skull bash should be higher up in the general tree.

    Yeah button bloat has been really bad for healer. Part of the problem that people forget is that you need to have all your buttons for your dps rotation as well as your healing keybinds. It is kinda a catch 22 because of the classes that have more interesting dps rotations for the healer it makes the button bloat even worse. If I was only using 3 abilities to dps it probably wouldn't be nearly as bad but then downtime dps would feel worse that said I rather be healing more often than having more interesting engaging dps rotations on a healer.
    The evoker range limitation actually caused me to quit playing it. The evoker is probably my favorite healer but I just couldn't deal with the limited range, I pug way too often and it just sucked the fun out of healing. When I was in raids or with guildies it isn't an issue because you have voice communication but outside of that it feels terrible. If they increased the range it would be my main healer in a heartbeat but right now I am having a hard time choosing it.
    As far as defensives I see it as an issue but really I don't really know a good fix. Removing all the defensives and rebalacing every tree because of the changed points would be a huge undertaking. Like to the point where they would have time to not add anything new. Could you imagine an expansion where the only class updates were we took everyone's defensives away because that is what would happen with how much effort it would be to do. Pretty much they have resorted to implementing oneshot mechanics to counter the defensives but that just feels terrible. I think that having defensives as an I fucked up or a way to squeeze a bit more damage for good dps players to use is a good tool. I think really they just need to make more often smaller damage with higher health pools and remove the oneshots. Yeah it will cause issues in really high keys but I don't think balancing around a +20 key when 99% of the playerbase are never going to do more than a 10 is stupid. Find other ways to scale and balance things for those players.

    I don't think any of the melee healers should have a 5yd range. Monk and Pally should both have 8 yard. Sure for the DPS it makes sense. When you back off a target you just lose dmg usually. Rarely is that an issue. When you need to back off a target as a melee healer, someone dies. Neither you or the dead person are happy.

    Ofc there are way too many defensives on other classes. But Blizzard wants healers to do lots of DPS and no heal. That's why we have so many 20 keys being timed without healer. Propper comp with good defensives kills the need for healers to exist. In the future there wont be healers but more Aug like classes

    I think the problem with defensives is they are not created equal. Having access to bear form all the time, and a short cd on barkskin is not the same as say, survival instincts or astral shift. It's either give all defensives the same cd and get rid of immunities and cheat deaths-- or get rid of them all together. I'm not sure which is the right answer tbh. Even if no one has a defensive, Aug evoker still exists so.. I really don't know.

    I think classes can keep their identity while at least having roughly the same amount and quality of defensives.
    With melee range, I honestly would hope they just give all melee the extra 3 yards. It seems they lost the intent of the range increases, at least to me the intent was to increase the quality of life. I don't think it's that offensive to give melee more wiggle room to be in range, the range increase felt so much more forgiving and less "frustrating" to play around. Idk if it's too much to ask but if swirlies around mobs/bosses are too easy for melee then would it not make sense to make the offending ones maybe like 3 yards bigger and 0.x seconds longer before they go off? But I agree with you that at the very least healers should get range.

    the decreased range is bs for everyone, its like they want to make the game feel like shit, they should have increased the base range of all melee specs by 2 yards. that little bit of increased range on the specs that have it make the game play so much better.

    I mained Holy Pally for years, all the way back to launch of WotLK, and honestly? Button bloat is totally a thing. Like, did we really NEED the Ardenweald Cov ability when we ALL wanted Ashen Hallow + Divine Toll? Also, could we have LotM back? I mean, as a melee healer? Those talents would have had WAY more synergy. Just saying.

    I would remove majority of healing spells from DPS specs (which would make healers more important) and then nerf all healing needed to the ground in pve. Healers also, shouldnt havy damage. Every class have DPS spec if you want to level or kill stuff.

      Strongly recommend mouse-macros and not keybindings (on the keyboard in the traditional sense). After a while, it just becomes pure muscle memory. I play all 6 healers and have all the mouse macros set up for both healing and dps (via Vuhdo).

    Remove range limitations for all healers. Remove most defensive for DPS. Remove bursty one-shot mechanics. If that happens, we will live happily every after.

      never made sense to me how every DPS has a version of "shield wall". It's bonkers, only tanks should have that real defensive. DPS should have a small low cd defensive, such as anti-magic shell, but nothing big

    Personally, I think dps should only have one DR or one reactive heal, maybe both, but no more. Healers shouldn't have to many personals and mainly be the ones shifting health bars or reducing incoming damage for a group. Tanks should keep being mostly self-reliance. Lol, I'm a tank main

    Hpal has as many buttons as my pres evoker and is the worst example of button bloat. Shamans, mistweavers, and rdruids have twice the buttons.

    Remove or heavily nerf most personal defensive and hp sustain from all specs except for tanks and put back healers in charge of group's survivability otherwise just remove the role because right now is infuriatingly frustrating in PUGs when people don't use their CDs properly, healers can't do shit about this and dung mechanics will kill them in 2s, wipe occurs and the key gets fucked.
    Second thing, turn the fucking ability bloat down ffs! I swear I'm driven mad when I need to have 30 binds and 5 custom auras over the regular aura packs that yell at me so I can have somewhat decent situational awareness and control - this shit is unsustainable!

    Button bloat has been the biggest win for healers going into war within. I stopped playing hpal because of how many buttons you have to bind these days compared to the other healers. Disappointed to see that blizzard gave other classes some love and hpal once again is going to the back burner

      Facts. I’ve been healing since EverQuest. If I wanna dps I get on my warlock or hunter. I wanna spam priest heals cause that’s what I enjoy. Being forced to fake dps does nothing. The problem is they have some healer types that are served to dps and that forces all healers to dps . The only fix I see would be if every healer essentially was potato dps even if they tried. That way it would be clear their time is better spent topping up and awareness. Often as a coordinated healer , im calling out stuff and assisting with dung and raid awareness.

The only way this is not part of the equation is if healers just don’t bring any dps. And if they do it’s literally like 1/10th of the worst dps. Then people will just prefer the healer focus on keeping people alive . If not, the healers that like to heal just won’t be able to play the game. And if your a healer that likes to dps….how bout just roll a dps alt. Easy.

      @@choocharoo but I don’t want to play dps lol. Why is it so monochromatic? If my minimum goal is the team stays alive (within my power) then any time extra makes sense to do damage. Am I supposed to just sit there or overheal? If you increase the healing so much that you have to only heal then you limit your choice of healer and in my experience the healers that only want to heal can’t meet the checks.

    Taking away my adaptive swarm and making photosynthesis compete with flourish is horrible design. Buttons that feel good to press are important for any rpg - wonder who these game devs at blizzard are listening to when they prune classes to boredom levels.

    Sadly till now Holy priest got almost no changes and current problems weren't solved/ considered... hopefully they will in the remaining weeks ... since it seems that blizz won't fixx healing / remove or thinns out devensives, they just increase health pools which doesn't solve the problem (we still will get the same problem like in DF when stats increase).

    I want dungeons like they used to be. We were happy to just complete. Speed runs were not even a thought. DPS had to regulate threat. Healers had to focus on heals. Tanks had to focus interupts and attention of mobs away from group.
    Now days it's just group up and burn as fast as possible leading to limiting damage abilities to no more then 5. 😢
