That editing at the end of the drag race was SOOO cool. I had to rewind it just to see it again. We get drag races all the time across a variety of channels but seeing something totally different is so refreshing

Seriously was hoping for that! Seeing the manual compared was cool, but the perfect cherry would have been an absolute nail-biting 40-roll, rather than the unorthodox shootout against a more-than-decade-old-albeit-iconic GT.
Not gonna matter 5.0 will take it everytime especially top end and boost vs boost built vs built no matter what the 5.0 will be the better option. 5.0s come with forged internals from factory and capable of handling 1000hp stock and has already ran 8s 1/4 with a sealed motor. Cause let’s be honest a who really be talking about and racing stock cars best bang for ur buck anyday is the 5.0
@@dylangobel2923 Not to mention all 5.0 Mustangs from 2018+ come with port and direct injection from the factory. That means you can drop a procharger in the Mach for $7k with zero supporting upgrades and push 740+ HP. I mean its usually apples to oranges comparing modded cars, but that level of over-engineering is what old Supra owners loved so much about it.

Videography was top notch. I’d like to see a rerun with the Z on better tires. It sounds like the Z cut power shifting into 2nd because of traction control at 2:44. Same thing happens on my Q50 Redsport. Also, Nissan probably has a “stability control” button you have to disengage in addition to the traction control in order to do a burnout in the auto.
What the video shows is not fastest run. It shows the cars finishing in the order their fastest run indicates. All three cars can run faster times with a better tire.

@@M4rt_FX Now that the "more powerful" Mustang has been tested, it's not impressive. Much less *for the money* My 2020 Mustang GT got dynamometer results in line with most of the stock GTs at the time: 419hp at the wheels versus what seemed to be an average around 410-415. Now that the new S650 chassis is out, the S550s tested against them are showing power figures in the 380s. No one is talking about where 30hp just went, but the S650 GT at 408hp looks good by comparison. I look at my dyno graph and wonder how the new "more powerful" Mustang is turning out dyno results 10hp less than my GT when it's supposed to have a 20hp advantage. And no one is impressed with the acceleration times just yet. Not even for the Shady Pony.

They're all awesome. This Mustang is the first one I've ever thought was sexy... but one thing the Mustang has been best at is making an incredible sound. The older ones may have handled like garbage and had the sophistication of a Duplo car, but they always sounded phenomenal.

@M S I believe you, it clocks times like a passenger sports car from a decade after the Syclone/Typhoon were new...both were faster then the '03 F-150 SVT Lightning, '04 Silverado SS or '08 RAM SRT-10 with half the motor size.

@@superlight1999 most sports cars in General are between 3300-4000lbs. Cars that are lighter than 3300lbs are usually super cars like the McLaren 720S and ect. The Shelby GT500 is what you can all a heavy car being 4,056lbs for the carbon fiber track package.

Love how you stop and say "you don't have to skip ahead" That's exactly what i normally do... i like this format. Although I'm impressed by the stock supra... and that mach 1 spun a good amount but i guess you should expect that with more hp.
Yeah I thought the Z looked great but then the aston just looks spectacular next to it. It looked so out of place compared to the other three just because it was so much prettier
Idk about everyone else but I kinda like the rear tail light treatment on the new Z car that pays homage to the original twin turbo 300ZX car from the early 90's.
literally super wide pilot sport 4Ss and some wider wheels, along with some coilovers and some weight reduction would have you zoomin. at this point, AMS's stuff would be largely optional, imo.
I gotta say... that finish-line bullet-time, with you being in real-time was absolutely extraordinary. That right there made me hungry to get back into Videography. Well done! Inspiring the un-inspirable.
Nice effects in the video. I would love to see The Z do a rolling start. That might help equalize the tyres. The traction control also seems it could use some fine tunning looking at the slomo. But i dont know how that looks if you see a 911 turbo that is one of the best launching cars ever. Maybe the wheel slip looks similar there?
@@TerrannotOP I thought the Z was lighter by about 100lbs? I think I read somewhere that the Z has a flat torque curve from 1600-5500 rpm as well where the Supra peaks at 2600 and drops off. Maybe Nissan just sent a hot tuned car for the testing. I guess we'll have to wait for production vehicles to get into people's hands.
Drag races don't mean much to me. To me, it's how it feels driving these cars. The attitude and the character. And with these attributes in mind, I chose the Z. Nissan has always amazed me.

Would love if this happened. As a past Z owner myself, it’s influence on car production is sometimes overlooked. When you think 2 door coupe, RWD, NA, 6spd, and quick….the Z car is truly the embodiment of that description!

@@SL9SH It will cost around the same amount of money to make 4 digits on both cars. Really you don't even need a turbo to do that on the mustang. A simple bolt on supercharger and headers will take it there with e85.

What do you think of the mach 1s dysfunctional grill vent circle things? Was looking at one the other day, and it was just so frustrating to see that a $60,000 mustang had fake vents everywhere.
Tires were an issue for the Z, a rolling race would have been really good in this case. Thanks for the video and no filler stuff! Also wonder how fast the Q60RS would be if it had the new 9spd auto that’s in the Z.
True about Bridgestones. Nissan should've gone for Dunlops like they already did with their GTRs (after an independent tuning company MCR). I've used to have Bridgestone Potenza RE002 Adrenalin but now I'm on Michelin Pilot Sport 3 which is a lot better.
@@ultimatesin5Everyone knows that it is a very good car but most are just disappointed that Toyota's new supra has more BMW than actual Toyota in it. In my opinion Nissan did it better with the Z it's still a Nissan and it's even cheaper than the new supra.

And Jaguars , Bentley, Dodge Charger , Dodge Challenger, ETC using the ZF8 Speed Automatic Transmission from BMW. Plus no one cared about the A80 Supra MK4 in the 1990s which in the 90s was a POOR seller when it was new in Dealerships.
You get Toyota reliability & German drivability. I love it, especially with the tons of aftermarket parts, only a matter of time before we start seeing insane builds like the Nissan GT-R's are doing.
That scene when Supra and Mustang crossed the line is epic. Modern automatics might be faster than manuals, but I still prefer the manual stick shift for my weekend whip.
Absolutely did not expect performance of the Supra, especially after hearing people bash it for being slower than "everything", yet is strikes higher than raw peak power would suggest it can.
Having a Supra in my garage, i can say, its not slow and it gets way too much hate! Those who hate it, are ones who have never had one OR hate they can never get one! Toyota may have partnered with BMW but it goes beyond more than just using the B58 engine!
@@NFSINSANE you have done no research on the Supra have you? Yes, B58 is BMW, however, watch how picky and how much Toyota forced BMW to change what Toyota considered inferior parts. Its not copy and paste like people think it is. Why do you think the Supra beats the Z4? Because Toyota modified the B58 which in turn pissed off BMW and in the end, they left on not so great terms! Toyota wanted an established, solid foundation, then, they built up from there and, the Supra was born!
The Supra really is an over-achiever and I wouldn't trade mine in for anything else in it's class, but that being said it was pretty cool to see the new Z stick so close to it. I'm excited to start seeing them out in the wild!

Agreed, it's much better looking and sounding than any of the cars there save for the Aston. That being said, most people won't benefit much with a Mach 1 over a GT PP. Get the GT, keep the extra $15k+ in your savings.

Agreed, as cool as thr Mustang is, turbo cars have a huge advantage of simple tuning. Just a quick ECU flash and a nicer set if tires will have that Z side by side with the 500hp cars.

i think what they did was overlapped jason over the existing footage of the cars crossing the line, pinpointed when the cars were gonna cross and then positioned the cars there and drove reeeeaallly slowly/slowed down footage to make it look like they were still kinda moving. then they let the wizards do the work in post
@Copen yeahh like all the new GR cars. Also toyota still manages to make reliable daily drivers (something nissan fails to do) The Z needs a Mercedes trans to be even slightly decent and still gets railed by everything. 🥱
Wow, I'm impressed with the new Z. A little disappointed with the crappy tires, however, that's an easy fix. When you look at what it was up against, it did fairly well.
@@TheEnd-eg6wq gen 3 coyote is just amazing. Yeah it's not boosted, but man those platforms gain good amount of power with mods... it's not ordinary NA engine. These gen 3 coyotes are dual port injection, so e85 and fbo are up to 520whp. And that's just catback, long tube headers, intakes, and e85 tune. They also run 11 second flat on quarter mile with those mods. Honestly all 3 cars right here are great. I couldn't go wrong with any of them. People really shouldn't be hating. These cars are really great.
@@TheEnd-eg6wq one of the cars we ordered is the 22 GT with performance package. We've been waiting almost 6 month for it to be built, but now it should be done end of this month. Can't wait for it to arrive. Second car we'll get is the 2023 Z. Hoping the availability won't be as difficult as it looks like.

Not gonna matter 5.0 will take it everytime especially top end and boost vs boost built vs built no matter what the 5.0 will be the better option. 5.0s come with forged internals from factory and capable of handling 1000hp stock and has already ran 8s 1/4 with a sealed motor. Cause let’s be honest a who really be talking about and racing stock cars best bang for ur buck anyday is the 5.0

That means you can drop a procharger in the Mach for $7k with zero supporting upgrades and push 740+ HP. I mean its usually apples to oranges comparing modded cars, but that level of over-engineering is what old Supra owners loved so much about it.

Videography was top notch. I’d like to see a rerun with the Z on better tires. It sounds like the Z cut power shifting into 2nd because of traction control at 2:44. Same thing happens on my Q50 Redsport.
Also, Nissan probably has a “stability control” button you have to disengage in addition to the traction control in order to do a burnout in the auto.
They've been doing this for years. Even in the manuals a standing burnout is impossible unless you disconnect the yaw sensor.
Yeah, prepared track, better tires the auto would probably be in the 11’s.
Aftermarket diff and tires usually is the only fix for that on the modern nissans
What the video shows is not fastest run. It shows the cars finishing in the order their fastest run indicates. All three cars can run faster times with a better tire.

My 2020 Mustang GT got dynamometer results in line with most of the stock GTs at the time: 419hp at the wheels versus what seemed to be an average around 410-415.
Now that the new S650 chassis is out, the S550s tested against them are showing power figures in the 380s. No one is talking about where 30hp just went, but the S650 GT at 408hp looks good by comparison.
I look at my dyno graph and wonder how the new "more powerful" Mustang is turning out dyno results 10hp less than my GT when it's supposed to have a 20hp advantage. And no one is impressed with the acceleration times just yet. Not even for the Shady Pony.

They're all awesome. This Mustang is the first one I've ever thought was sexy... but one thing the Mustang has been best at is making an incredible sound. The older ones may have handled like garbage and had the sophistication of a Duplo car, but they always sounded phenomenal.

I believe you, it clocks times like a passenger sports car from a decade after the Syclone/Typhoon were new...both were faster then the '03 F-150 SVT Lightning, '04 Silverado SS or '08 RAM SRT-10 with half the motor size.

The supra HP rating is severely underated. That 382hp rating is more like at the wheel rating.
The supra is super light as well which makes a big difference.
The B58 is def underrated and its a BMW so that means more than like crank hp

Nice effects in the video. I would love to see The Z do a rolling start. That might help equalize the tyres. The traction control also seems it could use some fine tunning looking at the slomo. But i dont know how that looks if you see a 911 turbo that is one of the best launching cars ever. Maybe the wheel slip looks similar there?
It would still lose. The mustang has quite a but more power and the BMW is about the same weight but also has more power then they claim.

@@TerrannotOP I thought the Z was lighter by about 100lbs? I think I read somewhere that the Z has a flat torque curve from 1600-5500 rpm as well where the Supra peaks at 2600 and drops off. Maybe Nissan just sent a hot tuned car for the testing. I guess we'll have to wait for production vehicles to get into people's hands.

@@SL9SH It will cost around the same amount of money to make 4 digits on both cars. Really you don't even need a turbo to do that on the mustang. A simple bolt on supercharger and headers will take it there with e85.

True about Bridgestones. Nissan should've gone for Dunlops like they already did with their GTRs (after an independent tuning company MCR). I've used to have Bridgestone Potenza RE002 Adrenalin but now I'm on Michelin Pilot Sport 3 which is a lot better.

Having a Supra in my garage, i can say, its not slow and it gets way too much hate! Those who hate it, are ones who have never had one OR hate they can never get one! Toyota may have partnered with BMW but it goes beyond more than just using the B58 engine!
It's not that it's slow, it's that it's not a thoroughbred anymore. So really it's a BMW that beat the Z.

Its not copy and paste like people think it is. Why do you think the Supra beats the Z4? Because Toyota modified the B58 which in turn pissed off BMW and in the end, they left on not so great terms! Toyota wanted an established, solid foundation, then, they built up from there and, the Supra was born!

The Supra really is an over-achiever and I wouldn't trade mine in for anything else in it's class, but that being said it was pretty cool to see the new Z stick so close to it. I'm excited to start seeing them out in the wild!

Agreed, as cool as thr Mustang is, turbo cars have a huge advantage of simple tuning. Just a quick ECU flash and a nicer set if tires will have that Z side by side with the 500hp cars.

I don't know that'll make too much a difference because the the other cars can also upgrade their tires and often do.

i think what they did was overlapped jason over the existing footage of the cars crossing the line, pinpointed when the cars were gonna cross and then positioned the cars there and drove reeeeaallly slowly/slowed down footage to make it look like they were still kinda moving. then they let the wizards do the work in post

@Copen yeahh like all the new GR cars. Also toyota still manages to make reliable daily drivers (something nissan fails to do) The Z needs a Mercedes trans to be even slightly decent and still gets railed by everything. 🥱

@@mavrick15243 i have a red sport (same engine). Pilot sport 4s wasn't enough. Semi slicks solved the problem.
Wow, I'm impressed with the new Z. A little disappointed with the crappy tires, however, that's an easy fix. When you look at what it was up against, it did fairly well.
Just buy some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S - best in class and be done with it!

A roll race would have been great since the stock tires aren't that great on Z but I still love the video.
In a roll race id be shocked if any of them beat the Mach, 30-40 is bread and butter for those Coyotes!
@@TheEnd-eg6wq gen 3 coyote is just amazing. Yeah it's not boosted, but man those platforms gain good amount of power with mods... it's not ordinary NA engine. These gen 3 coyotes are dual port injection, so e85 and fbo are up to 520whp. And that's just catback, long tube headers, intakes, and e85 tune. They also run 11 second flat on quarter mile with those mods.
Honestly all 3 cars right here are great. I couldn't go wrong with any of them. People really shouldn't be hating. These cars are really great.
@@UnlimitedGamerUNG I have the 12 coyote, and those turbo cars get out on me, but I always catch them, I have a 6 speed, so hooking up is an issue.
@@TheEnd-eg6wq one of the cars we ordered is the 22 GT with performance package. We've been waiting almost 6 month for it to be built, but now it should be done end of this month. Can't wait for it to arrive. Second car we'll get is the 2023 Z. Hoping the availability won't be as difficult as it looks like.
