E46 best output was 262hp on crank. E36 outputs between 300 and 327 at crank. Both cars are measured, e36 having dozens of pulls. It is more than real, my tunes for close to stock euro m54b30 outputs ~230whp.
@@northernmaten7676 the map is maded by me, and is not the only change. Map alone, with free flow exhaust , gives @ 260 crank hp on m54b30. ~35hp gains over stock....,but this is with a serviced engine that still gives hp figures close to claimed. An abused b30 engine can barely offer 200hp when measured (with my tools), and on this engine the gains are not that high.
Salut. Am de gand in cursul anului acesta sa fac swap-ul la m54 pe un touring 316i dar imi cam prind urechile in partea electrica. Am de gand sa cumpar un e46 donator. Crezi ca m-ai putea ajuta cu partea electrica contra cost? Si daca da cam care ar fi suma pentru tot ce inseamna partea electica a swap-ului?
Salut. Să stii ca timpul meu e foarte limitat, nu ma pot ocupa de ale mele decat in timpul vacanțelor scolare. Nu prea fac servicii decat celor mai apropiati, in functie de disponibilitate, plus ca eu locuiesc la țară si daca ar fi sa am nevoie de bani si in principiu sa vreau sa-ti fac instalatia, ar trebui sa o aduci la mine si s-o lasi o perioada. Nu te pot incurca pe toanele si timpul meu, iar din moment ce nu ma ocup de asa ceva in mod regulat, nu am pastrat diagramele prin care am facut conexiunile la mufa rotunda a e36-lui, trebuiesc facute din nou :( Motorul in sine, are instalatia cu ecu “plug & play” , doar pinii mufei rotunde trebuiesc identificati si imperecheati pe firele e46-lui. Eu iti recomand sa iei un jaf de e36 cu swapul deja facut si sa iei motorul cu instalatia deja facuta + piese de schimb ce le poti lua de pe caroserie. Un e46 330i e mai scump decat un e36 cu swap folosit la drift spre ex.

You need to fabric your harness by matching m54 engine sensors/accessories with M52 engine sensors/accessories. There are around ~20 wires inside engine compartment round socket that need to be swapped/matched , i did it by tracing individual component wires, no tutorial at that time (~6 years ago) and is different by engines. Electrical skill + wiring diagrams for both m52 and m54 is what you need, or you could buy one electrical harness built for e36 chasis.

As someone says in the coments need 17" wheels also better LSD 2.93 to get a best drag performance ;) LSD 3.45 making low start up 80% of tryings!!!
Those power figures are very optimistic based on tune list - no way stock m54b30 with flash ecu and exhaust etc. could hit more than 260ps.

E36 needs 17 inch and 235/40/17
Adriaan VB i have them, but not installed at that moment. E36 pulls harder, but quickly loose momentum cause of staying too little on power band
