I have trades of a dark and/or a "super" and/or Heyoka that even can extend to narcistic trades when wronged in a severe and unjust way.. I hate the narcistic ways, but it can be provoked. (Ex: to break away permanently) The natural state is kinda like "super" (Don't like that term) But on a bad day and/or bad environment it can turn to dark. It kinda flows where the mood is and surroundings can have a impact. Mostly when i have a low vibe or are surrounded by bad vibes... When i was young, i did not recognized it. Now i can, and that helps avoiding and/or preventing it. I think it flows and is dynamic even in it's core... The biggest bad person can also be the most loving parent... The biggest saint can have the darkest of secrets and/or sin... So we have the natural state combined with the external state The surrounding and other PPL can provoke specific personality trades... Example when "boys will be boys" is often different then when at home with the family. This is the same with work, or at shopping or anything... It will always be linked and/or close to the natural state but it can diverse immensely. Any form of potential treats, potential trauma and/or real trauma can activate a "switch" But like a magnet, it usually comes back to the natural state.. It is like a spinning ying yang, where the center is grey and a outburst to black and/or white can occur. White when you feel intense love or black when you feel intense hate or anger. But mostly everything will come back to the center of self. There for it can fluid and dynamic.. Especially over a lifetime (IMO) Thanks for the vids, i never knew these terms existed.
I’m a cognitive empath with strong dark traits, which has been confusing since i think of myself as a good person. I don’t go around trying to hurt people, but i enjoy hurting those who hurt others and while im sadistic, i know it’s not right to inflict pain in others for my own enjoyment. By definition, I fit the dark empath personality.. but the way everyone is describing it isn’t right, more research is needed.

Eventually, they manage to grow into decent and self-assured individuals, assuming they live in regular circumstances. Those who live with an ax to grind, however, tend to just be hyper-sentimental people who misinterpret this as a virtue and become rageful when their self-image as an "empath" is not validated.
Dark Empaths know exactly what to say to someone and at what time . They are not even passive aggressive . They may be manipulating you in such a charming tone and their body language would be so flawless that you will feel at ease . But what separates them from Psychopaths is that - " They always weigh whether what they want is more important than playing with someone's life " . They understand it too well because they don't want to be treated that same way . They unlike psychopaths never do it for thrill or fun . Most importantly they do sometimes cry when alone for manipulating a person whom they perceived as Kind/Nice even after they have got what they want but they lie to themselves that they did it for greater good and you must do that to live in this world . They may not be exactly crying for the person but they may view it to be unfair if someone ever did it to them so the image never leaves their head . They can completely blend in when with people without forcing/faking . Unlike Psychopaths and HF Sociopaths they are very passionate people esp. about " dark art " , " Classical music ", and various forms of Art that may speak to soul of a person or represent complexities of life. Finally for Dark Empaths people are not "Objects" and they may get very very sad if they saw something "unfair" and will be ready to help. They are super charming and even attractive ( most likely ) . They unlike Psychopaths are likely to believe in Spirituality too .
Wow.. I questioned whether I'm a dark empath, but you definitely described me to a T. Thank you. I've seen nothing but videos saying the Dark Empath is just evil. Not true at all. I hate manipulating people and I do cry alone when i manipulated a kind/nice person, but usually it is for "the greater good." I make sure everyone around me is happy. I do favors without expecting anything in return. But god damn, I do take pleasure in persecuting someone that did something "wrong." I hate seeing something unfair happen. I believe in karma. I don't know. I have a very strong moral compass, but that could be my narcissistic-Machiavellianism. I try daily though to take the high-road. But yeah, I 'learn' people, I have an exceptional closing rate in sales(70% closing rate 4 years in a row), I know what to say, I know what emotion to reflect, and I'm hyper-aware of my actions. I can put myself in the best light to everyone.. even when extremely intoxicated.
As a dark empath, i can say its dangerous when the dark empath is highly intelligent. Intelligence plays a big part in masking it. Also, they have triggers, but a highly intelligent empath is very patient.

Yep me too, i grew up in a normal family environment (even if a few things where kinda strange) what made me like i am today is being treated like bullshit by classmates since elementary school. And i finally know why i had dreams where i would loose myself following a shadowy figure.. what i find strangely enough the places i did these were educational structures basically every school i've been to exept the last one i graduated. And these places where either contemporary or were predicting in some way the next place, the last one being my second HS. It creeped me out a lot. But i found more about myself this way and understood that i had to hurt someone on my way where i am now.

Everyone is a bit different. Someone can go from normal empath to more of a dark empath on the scale to protect ourselves, or by simply learn detachment from other people's emotion to function better in society. People can learn and our mind can evolve. We're not stuck on one label forever.
I love and enjoy being a dark empath personally... I can feel pity & sadness for others to an extent, but have learned to detach and move on. Because who has time to wallow in pity for an extended period of time? This actually has nothing to do with the dark empath personality so don’t worry! :) Getting revenge, being hateful or angry are completely normal human traits. So is not feeling remorse for someone who has hurt you in an extreme way or taken away someone you loved. If it was, then every soldier or person commit crime in revenge would be possible to be placed into dark personalities such as narssicists or dark empaths. This is not the case. Everyone can try to manipulate in some form, everyone does this from time to time. The differences comes when someone naturally thinks like this all the time and constantly thinks like this as a “standard”. This is especially what psychopaths and sociopaths do. Dark empaths do the same, but while trying to show empathy because they understand how their people want them to feel. They can’t actually understand the feelings or “the mood” Of the people around them. So instead the manipulate them so based on how they hope others might perceive them.
I had a coworker that was my competition on the sales floor. He talked soo much smack. So I learned him. For over a year, I learned what his insecurities are, what his friends like to hear, what makes him happy, and what makes him sad. I did this subconsciously without even knowing it. I befriended all his friends, I smashed his sales records, and I slowly made him out to appear emotionally imbalanced to everyone. I'd calmly gaslight him to throw a fit in the office and make a scene. He was young and selfish. He quit sales, went to therapy, and got into a decent relationship. He's single now, happy, and has a job he enjoys. I feel like I got my revenge and helped him at the same time. But yeah..
From my own internal understanding, a dark empath is someone you would find relating themselves strongly to this hybrid personality type. 1) because they're emotionally intelligent enough to know they're not normal, hence they are here looking for answers (empath), and 2) they like the sexy name and virtuous attributes associated with the dark aspect, it strokes their ego's insatiable need for validation and assurance (dark)
You become a victim of a dark empath when you don't want to see the "dark" behavior and only want to see the empathic behavior. For instance: he stands up for you, but is not nice to a friend of yours. Don't excuse that behavior. It is difficult to understand that a person can have both sides but in the end you will see that the dark side gets the upper hand. For instance: he looks innocent, but in reality he is full of hate and envy.

They just seem more agreeable because they can convert you to their way of thinking without you realizing it and find value in the information gained anytime they have to concede and thus don't resent it as much as they otherwise would. This also leads to them seeming less aggressive because they are able to get their way without giving themselves away with aggression

In my understanding what is called 'dark empath' in this video is a person with high levels of empathy, emotional inteligence, self-awareness and higher levels of selfishness. While they feel genuine empathy and are willing to help others, they may occasionally go to more morally grey areas to acheive their goals. For example slightly abuse their empathethic powers to get what they want through manipulation, deceit, persuasion and so on. However, the main difference between that person and the narcissist or sociopath is that there will always be clear boundaries and high degree of consideration for the impact any action will have on any other person or group. And if there would be any negative impact it would be fairly negligible. Something more in the scope of inconvenience rather than something destructive. In other words they would definitely care for others, but often times care more about themselves. (unlike regular empaths) And last but not least, if certain underhanded tactics are used on people who are close to the individual, they'll usually keep a mental tab and make effort to make up for it in unexpected ways. I don't know to what degree a person of high empathy can become 'evil', but the comment is made under the assumption the 'dark empath' is good natured.

You're downplaying the capability of harm they're able to naturally inflict on others, and these people usually rewrite the narrative which paints them in a better light so they can sleep at night. -They have narcisstic traits of manipulation & gaslighting -They can compulsively lie although their primary reason for lying is to paint themselves as the protagonist & paint others as antagonistic -they have superiority complex - because they grew up as societal outcasts, they feel they have the right to center themselves as heroes and can mimic ethical behaviour when it suits them. This is highly dangerous to their unsuspecting victim(s) - When it comes to the crunch they'll even throw their own baby under the bus but later when shame kicks in they may want to say sorry -even when trying to apologise they don't follow the social norms of an actual apology. They hope showing that they feel bad is enough to get them in people's good book again but they're too threatened, intimidated & or arrogant to right the wrong they've done. -basically, they feel the world owes them big time because they grew up as outcasts and anyone that reminds them they can't get it their way, they would go after that person like a psycho on a mission would do. Be warned guys, the dark empath is just as dangerous as the dark triad, if not,I would argue more so because of their unsuspecting disguise.

I'm a dark empath too, and I deeply understand where your coming from. I was raised with a similar experience as you, however, I have a lot of different experiences. But, to me, my dark empathic traits help me get by. It helps me socialize, get around and get my way, and overall help me.
I used to be a full blown empath but before I knew it I got entangled with one too many Narcs (realizing my dad is one too) and now know I can easily take them down. I don't go hunting for them, but if they need to be put in their place, I can get dark!

So I've been researching the concept of the Dark Empath quite a bit recently - I am 100% certain I fall within this category. That's not to say I go around using my knowledge of people's emotions to hurt them for kicks (although, childhood me used to do this... a lot). I don't really think it's necessarily a bad thing, though it certainly has the capacity to become one if the Dark Empath doesn't understand there's a time and a place for those abilities.

If someone lacks cognitive empathy it’s gonna be a problem. I’m high cognitive almost no emotional and moderate compassionate empathy. I’d rather have cognitive than emotional but a combo’s probably better. People who are too emotional annoy the shit out of me. Like hey there’s a situation that doesn’t exist and I’m gonna have to offer soothing facial expressions to talk about something that A. Already happened B. Has not happened To avoid C. C. Someone being upset someone didn’t act sensitive enough NOT about their thing (I.e. bad day) but about a potential thing (I.e. showing indifference to hypothetical bad day). ..if that’s annoying to read, for those who don’t quite grasp cognitive empathy, understand it can be exhausting to deal with. Think of an autistic person. A number of people on the autistic spectrum are report feeling average (aka not low) levels of emotional empathy BUT they have trouble understanding and therefor have to rely on cues and cognitive empathy. Aka holy fuck does that sound drowning and shout out to you guys. If someone had no other traits yet had to use that processing they would likely be drained by others, so.. Also, someone’s who highly emotionally expressive average more nurturing responses to situations like hearing about somebody’s break up, but that doesn’t mean high emotional low cognitive would = not inadvertently having a negative impact on others, although they might feel more hurt reading that and there’s no need to be sad about A. ^ a situation that already exists Yet we can express care over B. Specific situations as they exist, 👍
All right, I just figured out that I'm a dark empath, and it is a tool. this personality is not inherently evil, it just means that if we were these traits would make us very successful in it. It only matters how we use it
I am quite emotionally empathetic, but I know I can also be incredibly narcissistic and my first reaction to people or things I despise is wishing them dead or destroy their lives. I think I also got much better at manipulating others. I think dark empath fits me smack in the face.

I've had a long history of being abused by those with dark triad traits. After the end of a LTR I got clean and sober. Through AA I developed a strong sense of self and gained an absurd amount of clarity. Alas, I am still attracted to women with the dark traits. The most recent being the darkest yet. I escaped relatively unscathed but uncovered some seriously treacherous behavior. She has ruined the lives of several men and revels in the power of having done so. She is unaware that I know. I could potentially restore sanity to these poor bastards and stop her destructive scorched earth campaign but the fallout would be wide spread and potentially hurt innocent victims of hers. I don't know what to do.

Yup, they seem nice or what I call "nice bullies". I haveca neighnot who I used to beam about being so wonderful for overvalued year before she turned on me and started gossiping or bullying me, using her powers from being on the association board to attempt to make my life miserable and convince other neighbor's to turn on me for feeding wild birds (even though other neighbor's feed birds, we have done it for years, and even they themselves fed the birds for a brief amount of time).

Welp I fell head over heals in love with one and she knew it and it wasn’t reciprocated and I spent years beeing her best friend and when I finally managed to break free of the friendship and leave she managed to make herself look like a victim and turned every other friend I had against me and ever since, non of them have reached out to me I’m really scared she’ll have hacked into my youtube or something and see this comment and get mad and try to ruin my reputation more or whatever she’s doing like it sounds paranoid but that’s exactly the type of stuff she does

Do these guidelines define the person? I noticed you mentioned that empathy doesn't mean someone is inherently good. I didn't hear a mention if this makes a dark empath inherently evil.
I'm pretty confused that I'm such a dark person and mostly fit all this stuff but don't manipulate others, which seems to be a key trait of all dark personalities. I'd have no moral problem doing it, but hate human contact and won't voluntarily engage in it unless I need to for baseline survival. It's too much work.

The surrounding and other PPL can provoke specific personality trades...
Example when "boys will be boys" is often different then when at home with the family.
This is the same with work, or at shopping or anything...
It will always be linked and/or close to the natural state but it can diverse immensely.
Any form of potential treats, potential trauma and/or real trauma can activate a "switch"
But like a magnet, it usually comes back to the natural state..
It is like a spinning ying yang, where the center is grey and a outburst to black and/or white can occur.
White when you feel intense love or black when you feel intense hate or anger.
But mostly everything will come back to the center of self.
There for it can fluid and dynamic.. Especially over a lifetime (IMO)

I’m a cognitive empath with strong dark traits, which has been confusing since i think of myself as a good person. I don’t go around trying to hurt people, but i enjoy hurting those who hurt others and while im sadistic, i know it’s not right to inflict pain in others for my own enjoyment. By definition, I fit the dark empath personality.. but the way everyone is describing it isn’t right, more research is needed.

There are real people who could be called "empaths" (though they'd know better than to call themselves that), who simply need to work on boundaries. Eventually, they manage to grow into decent and self-assured individuals, assuming they live in regular circumstances. Those who live with an ax to grind, however, tend to just be hyper-sentimental people who misinterpret this as a virtue and become rageful when their self-image as an "empath" is not validated.
Dark Empaths know exactly what to say to someone and at what time . They are not even passive aggressive . They may be manipulating you in such a charming tone and their body language would be so flawless that you will feel at ease . But what separates them from Psychopaths is that - " They always weigh whether what they want is more important than playing with someone's life " . They understand it too well because they don't want to be treated that same way . They unlike psychopaths never do it for thrill or fun . Most importantly they do sometimes cry when alone for manipulating a person whom they perceived as Kind/Nice even after they have got what they want but they lie to themselves that they did it for greater good and you must do that to live in this world . They may not be exactly crying for the person but they may view it to be unfair if someone ever did it to them so the image never leaves their head . They can completely blend in when with people without forcing/faking . Unlike Psychopaths and HF Sociopaths they are very passionate people esp. about " dark art " , " Classical music ", and various forms of Art that may speak to soul of a person or represent complexities of life.
Finally for Dark Empaths people are not "Objects" and they may get very very sad if they saw something "unfair" and will be ready to help. They are super charming and even attractive ( most likely ) . They unlike Psychopaths are likely to believe in Spirituality too .

Wow.. I questioned whether I'm a dark empath, but you definitely described me to a T. Thank you. I've seen nothing but videos saying the Dark Empath is just evil. Not true at all. I hate manipulating people and I do cry alone when i manipulated a kind/nice person, but usually it is for "the greater good." I make sure everyone around me is happy. I do favors without expecting anything in return. But god damn, I do take pleasure in persecuting someone that did something "wrong." I hate seeing something unfair happen. I believe in karma. I don't know. I have a very strong moral compass, but that could be my narcissistic-Machiavellianism. I try daily though to take the high-road. But yeah, I 'learn' people, I have an exceptional closing rate in sales(70% closing rate 4 years in a row), I know what to say, I know what emotion to reflect, and I'm hyper-aware of my actions. I can put myself in the best light to everyone.. even when extremely intoxicated.

Yep me too, i grew up in a normal family environment (even if a few things where kinda strange) what made me like i am today is being treated like bullshit by classmates since elementary school. And i finally know why i had dreams where i would loose myself following a shadowy figure.. what i find strangely enough the places i did these were educational structures basically every school i've been to exept the last one i graduated. And these places where either contemporary or were predicting in some way the next place, the last one being my second HS. It creeped me out a lot. But i found more about myself this way and understood that i had to hurt someone on my way where i am now.

Well, to me a dark empath is a covert narcissist who has polished their way for manipulation. It would be like a covert narcissist doctorated cum laudem.
Everyone is a bit different. Someone can go from normal empath to more of a dark empath on the scale to protect ourselves, or by simply learn detachment from other people's emotion to function better in society. People can learn and our mind can evolve. We're not stuck on one label forever.

Getting revenge, being hateful or angry are completely normal human traits. So is not feeling remorse for someone who has hurt you in an extreme way or taken away someone you loved. If it was, then every soldier or person commit crime in revenge would be possible to be placed into dark personalities such as narssicists or dark empaths. This is not the case.
Everyone can try to manipulate in some form, everyone does this from time to time. The differences comes when someone naturally thinks like this all the time and constantly thinks like this as a “standard”. This is especially what psychopaths and sociopaths do.

I had a coworker that was my competition on the sales floor. He talked soo much smack. So I learned him. For over a year, I learned what his insecurities are, what his friends like to hear, what makes him happy, and what makes him sad. I did this subconsciously without even knowing it. I befriended all his friends, I smashed his sales records, and I slowly made him out to appear emotionally imbalanced to everyone. I'd calmly gaslight him to throw a fit in the office and make a scene. He was young and selfish. He quit sales, went to therapy, and got into a decent relationship. He's single now, happy, and has a job he enjoys. I feel like I got my revenge and helped him at the same time. But yeah..

You become a victim of a dark empath when you don't want to see the "dark" behavior and only want to see the empathic behavior. For instance: he stands up for you, but is not nice to a friend of yours. Don't excuse that behavior. For instance: he looks innocent, but in reality he is full of hate and envy.

In my understanding what is called 'dark empath' in this video is a person with high levels of empathy, emotional inteligence, self-awareness and higher levels of selfishness.
While they feel genuine empathy and are willing to help others, they may occasionally go to more morally grey areas to acheive their goals. For example slightly abuse their empathethic powers to get what they want through manipulation, deceit, persuasion and so on. However, the main difference between that person and the narcissist or sociopath is that there will always be clear boundaries and high degree of consideration for the impact any action will have on any other person or group. And if there would be any negative impact it would be fairly negligible. Something more in the scope of inconvenience rather than something destructive. In other words they would definitely care for others, but often times care more about themselves. (unlike regular empaths) And last but not least, if certain underhanded tactics are used on people who are close to the individual, they'll usually keep a mental tab and make effort to make up for it in unexpected ways. I don't know to what degree a person of high empathy can become 'evil', but the comment is made under the assumption the 'dark empath' is good natured.

-they have superiority complex
- because they grew up as societal outcasts, they feel they have the right to center themselves as heroes and can mimic ethical behaviour when it suits them. This is highly dangerous to their unsuspecting victim(s)
- When it comes to the crunch they'll even throw their own baby under the bus but later when shame kicks in they may want to say sorry
-even when trying to apologise they don't follow the social norms of an actual apology. They hope showing that they feel bad is enough to get them in people's good book again but they're too threatened, intimidated & or arrogant to right the wrong they've done.
-basically, they feel the world owes them big time because they grew up as outcasts and anyone that reminds them they can't get it their way, they would go after that person like a psycho on a mission would do.

I'm a dark empath too, and I deeply understand where your coming from. I was raised with a similar experience as you, however, I have a lot of different experiences. But, to me, my dark empathic traits help me get by. It helps me socialize, get around and get my way, and overall help me.
I used to be a full blown empath but before I knew it I got entangled with one too many Narcs (realizing my dad is one too) and now know I can easily take them down. I don't go hunting for them, but if they need to be put in their place, I can get dark!

So I've been researching the concept of the Dark Empath quite a bit recently - I am 100% certain I fall within this category. That's not to say I go around using my knowledge of people's emotions to hurt them for kicks (although, childhood me used to do this... a lot). I don't really think it's necessarily a bad thing, though it certainly has the capacity to become one if the Dark Empath doesn't understand there's a time and a place for those abilities.
I am a heoka impath but can turn dark when I see children and the elderly or the weak being abused in any way I call her Gertrude she is a protector and is very evil

Think of an autistic person. A number of people on the autistic spectrum are report feeling average (aka not low) levels of emotional empathy BUT they have trouble understanding and therefor have to rely on cues and cognitive empathy.
Aka holy fuck does that sound drowning and shout out to you guys. If someone had no other traits yet had to use that processing they would likely be drained by others, so..
Also, someone’s who highly emotionally expressive average more nurturing responses to situations like hearing about somebody’s break up, but that doesn’t mean high emotional low cognitive would = not inadvertently having a negative impact on others, although they might feel more hurt reading that and there’s no need to be sad about

I've had a long history of being abused by those with dark triad traits. After the end of a LTR I got clean and sober. Through AA I developed a strong sense of self and gained an absurd amount of clarity. Alas, I am still attracted to women with the dark traits. The most recent being the darkest yet. I escaped relatively unscathed but uncovered some seriously treacherous behavior. She has ruined the lives of several men and revels in the power of having done so. She is unaware that I know. I could potentially restore sanity to these poor bastards and stop her destructive scorched earth campaign but the fallout would be wide spread and potentially hurt innocent victims of hers. I don't know what to do.

I haveca neighnot who I used to beam about being so wonderful for overvalued year before she turned on me and started gossiping or bullying me, using her powers from being on the association board to attempt to make my life miserable and convince other neighbor's to turn on me for feeding wild birds (even though other neighbor's feed birds, we have done it for years, and even they themselves fed the birds for a brief amount of time).

Welp I fell head over heals in love with one and she knew it and it wasn’t reciprocated and I spent years beeing her best friend and when I finally managed to break free of the friendship and leave she managed to make herself look like a victim and turned every other friend I had against me and ever since, non of them have reached out to me

I'm pretty confused that I'm such a dark person and mostly fit all this stuff but don't manipulate others, which seems to be a key trait of all dark personalities. I'd have no moral problem doing it, but hate human contact and won't voluntarily engage in it unless I need to for baseline survival. It's too much work.
