Great review! I like how you separated your video into different categories. I'm glad this 2021 Corolla LE has light steering and a soft plush comfortable ride. That's what most of us want and need, an easy comfortable driving experience. As for performance, considering that we all have to follow speed limits, fast cars can be frustrating because you always to keep yourself in check. I prefer slower cars because I can drive it aggressively without getting in trouble.
Finally a breath of fresh air from somebody whose palms were not greased by lets call it "the competition". The ugly hard plastic will still be ugly hard plastic in 10 years from now, without any wear or tear on it. The car will be rattle free. Have a good look and listen how the closing of the drivers door sounds. It is truly, and keep in mind what it costs, the best car on earth for what you pay, period! The older models drove like a Safeway cart with four loose wheels, even that you get used to. The new platform this one sits on, perfect. Thank you sir for doing an excellent job. Greetings from YVR.
Awesome review! Love how you broke down each aspect of the car and how you explained the ideal consumer demographic for it. This review format's great.
I'm currently looking for a car rn before I start uni, this video was really helpful :D too many other videos I've watched while trying to find a suitable car came off as patronizing and definitely only accounted for the perspective of a car enthusiast (something that's not really useful for me, someone who doesn't really know much about them). Thank you for the great breakdown ! This was really easy to understand
It's one great car... can't go wrong in these days of high gas prices...I'm picking mine up tomorrow..no turbo to worry about.. lot's of technology from a well know manufacturer
Corolla SE/XSE has a soft leather surface on the arm-rest and the center console instead of that scratchy cloth. It's also noticeably faster and more fun to drive, as you mentioned with the 2 liter engine and CVT with a first gear.
it's the 2.0 liter DCVT that has the 1st gear (launch gear), which only starts on the SE trim and above. the 1.8 liter "L" series of trims are the basic CVT
Hondas are quicker, but Toyota Quality and Customer Service are Stellar, by todays standards anyway. Hard times to buy a car right now, low inventories and high prices.
@@nj7541 I was looking at new Corollas Dec.2019/Jan.2020, OTD 20K. Bought car Jun 2021 the best I could get 22K OTD... I bought a new 2016, 18K OTD. In 2009 I got one for 14K.
I picked the LE over the SE due to the much more simple 1.8L vs the dual injection direct injection of the 2.0 which is more complicated and expensive to repair. The extra power didn't matter to me. I also prefer the softer ride of the LE. Oh and my LE is a J vin which may be better built.
@@hjer731 Dual injection is also quite a few more, expensive, parts that could potentially break down.I'm about to purchase an LE for ease of maintenance. The new 2.0 Toyota engine is probably very reliable, but is too new to have proven itself.
I have the LE with the Premium package (Sun roof, push button start, nicer wheels and body protection). It is the 2nd Corolla I've owned and I absolutely love it. The CVT transmission takes some getting used to. All Toyota CVT's have a 1st gear, or launch gear as they like to call it. And if you you really step on the gas, it has a simulated gear shift feel.
When is Toyota going to make an all electric vehicle like the Toyota Corolla model that's what I'm waiting for now. I'm from Montreal Quebec Canada first time watching you .
Toyota's coming out with their mainstream EV, the bZ4X SUV in 2022, so I'm sure more EVs will follow in the next decade. Lots of changes happening for sure
No electric car for me. Our power grid won’t hold up when so many many are having to charge the batteries. Also those battery replacement are really super expensive. I never want an electric car

I haven’t actually driven the Corolla Cross, but I think it’s a great option for someone who wants the dependability of a corolla with more practicality. If they’re the same price, I’d recommend the cross. Thanks for watching!
It is. It is the top selling car worldwide when total numbers sold are concerned. More corollas have been sold than any other vehicle. F series pickup and Volkswagen beetle round out the top three.
I agree, I bought mine 4 weeks ago and some things about it get on my nerves. The CVT transmission can bump or jerk slightly when letting off the gas and slowing down, then accelerating again. Tire noise on some pavements can be excessive and the filler tube can flex down when refueling.
I have an LE COROLLA 2021. I must say that the horrible safety sense sensor are the worst. Dangerous to say the least. I nearly go hit from behind on an autoroute. I disconnect all sensors that uses my brakes or steering. Its a dangerous marketing ploy. I can predict that one day Toyota will get sued. Unfortunately
I have a Corolla. It does 0-60 eventually, but what’s really important is that it does 0-60 every single time.

Corolla SE/XSE has a soft leather surface on the arm-rest and the center console instead of that scratchy cloth. It's also noticeably faster and more fun to drive, as you mentioned with the 2 liter engine and CVT with a first gear.
True! Would love to drive an XSE and compare against this LE
All Toyota CVT's have a 1st gear (Launch gear) Not just the higher end models.
I need soft cloth, suede, or leather. I have a scratchy cloth phobia. I’m aiming for a new black Corolla. Hopefully I’ll be able to afford a 2021.
it's the 2.0 liter DCVT that has the 1st gear (launch gear), which only starts on the SE trim and above. the 1.8 liter "L" series of trims are the basic CVT
@@401sttfw9 You're mistaken. The Corolla L, LE, and XLE has no first gear. Likewise, the C-HR's CVT has no first gear on any trim.
I own a 2000 Corolla. I also had an 1987 FX-16 Corolla and LOVED IT!!! I plan on getting a Corolla Cross SOON!!!
Nice! I feel like the Corolla Cross is gonna be super successful.

Your LE doesn't have a launch gear. Corolla L trims and all C-HR trims have the old-school CVT with no launch gear.
