This applies to the 2020-2022 models of Corolla. I went a little slower on this one (by request), also demonstrating a few features in the meantime.
***I did not cover the telescoping steering wheel or seat adjustments
I am working with the 2022 Corolla LE (the top selling grade)
I hope this video helps my new Corolla owners! Cheers!

Thanks for doing this vid, it's really helpful and provided more information than I got from the salesman of my new le. I just bought a 2022 on Tuesday and am really liking, but there is a lot of features that I didn't know about and is why this vid is so helpful. It is silver with the same interior as that one, which is two tone in moonstone and is basically gray with white accidents and is my favorite out of all the interior combinations. Thanks again, I subbed your channel and will be looking for more content in the future 👍🏼
You’re welcome! I am so glad I was able to help. That’s my goal! And thank you so much for subbing! I hope you enjoy future content even if it’s not about Corollas always. I also agree that moonstone is the best interior, and that’s coming from someone who prefers black. Congrats on the car!!! I’m always here to help you.
How much does it costed you brother.
How much did you get for it? I'm really considering 2022 as well due to use car market ridiculous rn
Great video...thank you! It was more helpful than my sales guy for sure! Thanks again!
@@brianruperti I'm hearing rumors that the 2023 corollas across all their trims will have 2.0 litre instead of 1.8 litre engine.
I’ve had mine for about a month and half now on the blueprint color and I’m in love. Looks nice outside and the interior is very luxury feeling. Drives so good too. I also have the platinum warranty. I’m Toyota for life now it’s perfect.
Welcome to the family thanks for sharing
Its just not fair about dealers price gauging $4000 on top of MSRP. I am going through a difficult time getting the best deal during hard times right now. I paid $18,000 for a 2021 Corolla LE 9 months ago and currently it's:$80000 more!!!!

Is blueprint difficult to maintain and needs regular washing?

This is one of the best corolla videos I've seen! The level of details is so helpful!
Thank you!
Thanks for the review! I just purchased a 2022 Toyota Corolla and previously had a 2000 Buick Lesabre. Transferring to such a new car after driving a free (and very old) car while I paid off my student loans is a wild ride. There’s so many features I have yet to toy around with. Thanks again! This has helped me figure out so much. 😂
Hey Briana thanks for the kind words and for watching! Congrats on the new Corolla! What color did you get?
I am so glad my video helped. Stay tuned for more useful Toyota tips!
Real men will prefer a Lesabre over a Corolla… what a downgrade.
I just got this exact car and have driven it for 10,000 miles. I want to just say that this car has been nothing but good so far. I lease it and it’s surprisingly cheap for how much car you can get. The only thing is that before you buy this car, it is extremely weak but luckily I live in a small town and the fastest we go in 35 MPH. Overall such a great small car for a college student like me.
Looks really nice in the base model. I always buy base models. Best value buy .
I agree!
Thank you very much for this video. The pace was perfect. I'm sure I will be referring back to it once my new car arrives! Very informative; calm, clear voice with excellent descriptions. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks so much for uploading! Someone hit my car and a few others in my neighborhood in the middle of the night, while it was parked legally in front of my house. My car became totaled, and now looking for a simple economy car for a working full time student (me) 😭

@@brianruperti the 2023s infotainment system yes is an upgrade but losing physical buttons on both sides of that infotainment seems like a downgrade especially for people who live in colder climates where the screen may freeze sometimes due to cold weather. What do you think Brian Ruperti?
You have a good point but I think it will be reliable even in cold weather and you’ll still have full climate control separately which is a must.
Thank you so much!! I’m planning on purchasing one soon ☺️

What I don’t like about this model is the display screen it’s a vision blocker that’s the only one bothers me. Thanks for the info it really help me.
If you raise your seat up so your eyes are in the center horizontal line of the windshield, the screen will blend in more. Hope that helps.

Guys I’m thinking of getting one this week same model ‘22 Corolla LE very exciting but can any one let me know what are those 4k packages that Toyota offers while purchasing the vehicle? Is that warranty? Would you recommend getting it or not
Does the 2022 SE show tire pressure anywhere on the dash? Or give you a warning when a tire is low? I can only find my tire pressure within the app
It will simply give you a warning when one of the tires is low

awesome review I had bought a toyota corolla the other day and needed some guidance! the only question i have about the interior is what's the tiny little slot on the right side of the shift? is it just a part of the car or is it used for something?
Thanks! Congrats on the car! What color did you get? And the little slot is for the technicians to access the shifter if it gets stuck or needs work.
@@brianruperti ah okay thanks for the info it had me really curious lol. i ended up buying the 2022 toyota corolla le in celestite and i love it!

This video has been the MOST helpful for me!!!! I GOT MY 2022 TOYOTA COROLLA LE!!!! 😃
Now, can you explain to me how I should use the different lights (ex: high beams, low beams, automatic, etc?)
Also, are their fog lights in this car, if not, what lights should I use in foggy weather?
Lastly, I got my car in BLACK SAND PEARL 🙂 Any suggestions on what to use/buy to clean the car at home? Thanks!
Hey congrats!!!! So glad it helped.
If you set it in auto it will do all of those for you. Nice right? If not, use DRL during day, and full headlights at night.
You likely do not have fog lights on your car, so use the LOW BEAMS during fog. Not the high beams as they cause a lot of light bounce back.
Black sand Pearl is a really nice color! I suggest checking out my video on washing your vehicle:
ruclips.net/video/ZBjImUoYTfg/видео.html
It’s very in depth and I don’t ALWAYS do it this way. But generally the “two bucket” method is your best bet. After you watch this, if it’s too much, just search “two bucket wash” and see whose routine fits your needs best!
Enjoy the new car!!!
@@brianruperti hey!!! THANKS A LOT!!! I love the car. It’s my FIRST ever car. It suits me well; we’re a perfect fit! I am still learning about all those buttons and controls...lol!!! But like I said before, your video has helped me out tremendously. I will watch your video on how to wash the car. I’ve heard that black cars require much more TLC when washing them so I want to keep her as impeccably clean as possible on my own. Ofc, I get free car washes at my Toyota place too, but I want to learn how to manage the car independently as well.
THANKS!!!

The only thing I dont like is that the radio its too high it blocks the window
Gotta raise your seat height so your eye level is center of windshield and it will be fine
Where in the hek is the gas door release and is thair a trunk release in the car near the drivers seat if the kefob isn't working

My wife just ordered the 2022 Corolla and one thing we didn't know is that there is no side heated mirrors. UGH. Everyday no use of mirrors all the way to work in the mornings! Almost a deal breaker. I had the lowest trim Kia prior that came with heated mirrors standard!
First off, congratulations. Secondly, please consider the following: I understand your frustration with the lack of heated side mirrors that you would normally use every day. When you compare the Kia to the Toyota side by side in safety, reliability, and overall manufacturing culture, you will see how a Toyota is built solely to save your life and never leave you stranded. Kia benefit is a cheap car with lots of features. Manufactured cheaply. Cheap to buy. It’s great! Look into their recall history. I hope that eases the pain. You bought into an amazing brand that works very hard to do right by you.
P.S. if it helps: a squirt of de-icer on the mirrors each cold morning does wonders! ❄️
It’s weird that this doesn’t have heated mirrors! Our 2020 LE has them!
Just got mine used from a third party dealership and I’m nervous about two things:
1. My key fob does not work; we changed the battery twice and the buttons still don’t remotely lock/unlock the doors, open the trunk, or sound the alarm. Tried loads of “ reprogramming” tricks and hacks found online but to no avail.
2. The little LED light to the right of the display screen and on the front passengers side showing something with about airbags? There is no warning on the drivers dash just that little light as seen in this video, what does it mean? Pls help
Congrats!!
1.) you may have the wrong fob
2.) the warning light for passenger side airbag should only be lit up if there is no passenger on the seat
Hey Brian amazing video very helpful I just have 1 questioning, at 2:12 right under the steering wheel directly under the voice commands button, in the same row as the automatic high beam switch is a rectangular indent. Do you know what that is? Can't seem to find it in the manual either.
Thanks! That’s where buttons would be in higher trims.
Thanks Bro.
I got you
Great video! Just got my Corolla LE this week and i LOVE it!…. But does anyone know how to turn off the backseat seatbelt buckle alarm? Even when no one is in the backseat the sound goes off so i always keep them buckled.
Thank you!
Has anyone had problems with this car yet and have been driving it for awhile? I'm thinking of getting this car soon
Wait till you read reviews on how this is one of the most reliable cars in the world! 👍🏼👍🏼
Kyrios no problems at all. I got the 2020 one. You don't need a heavy foot when driving them, and it's really smooth thanks to the efficiency of the CVT.
guys why my 2021 toyota corolla le says on full tank 260 miles?
Question: I just traded my 2020 Carolla for a 2022.
No sport button! Can the "Sport" feature be simulated?
Thank you!
Is your 2022 an LE?
@@brianruperti SE, I spent WAY to much time at the dealer...
@@lesrw1 oh ok so since it’s the SE it doesn’t need the sport button because it drives sportier and the entire car is the sport mode 😎
@@brianruperti thank you! Sorry for my late reply. Thanks again
Nice
I was told by my salesman that the way this LE is built there’s really no need for the Blindspot Monitor. He said that if you set your side mirrors just right there is no blind spot. Is this true, in your opinion?
It depends on your seating position, but yes, proper adjustment to the motors can really minimize the blind spot.
It’s up to you to decide if you want to wait for a car that has it, or if you’re ok getting a car without.
Blind spot monitor has helped me before, but it can become a dangerous crutch for people if they only look for the orange light and not actively look for speeding traffic coming in hot from behind.
@@brianruperti most drivers should be able to operate vehicles without blind spot monitoring but I know it's a nice feature to have and even then it's always good to check with your own eyes before switching lanes.
AMAZING.....THANK YOU Do you do home tutoring? :)
You’re welcome! Not at this time
Thank you so much for this video ! Very helpful. What I’m having a lot of trouble finding out is if the Corolla LE 2022 has remote start available .. do you know if it does ?
In our region it does not. You want to add an aftermarket one.
Sweet thank you so much for clearing that up! I already purchased mine yesterday in wind chill pearl and I love it so much 😭❤️ this video helped me understand my vehicle a lot better. Thank you!
@@michellegarcia2778 You’re welcome!
I prefer the hatchback model with 6 spd. Manual in that pearl white windchill color. Is it possible to get red interior with red leather seats?
I watched your whole video and it's great and very informative👍.
I would like to know in watching your whole video on this Corolla XE Base sedan model with CVT TRANS. what are any differences between the sedan in video and Corolla hatchback 6 spd. Manual trans. I would prefer? Is this video applicable in operation of Corolla 6 spd. Manual hatchback USA SPEC?🤔
On USA SPEC. COROLLA DOES COROLLA come with blindspot warning system?
Can you replace all interior lights with LED lights (plug n play) to get more light?
Yes you can customize for red leather. I drive the Pearl XSE hatchback in 6 speed manual a few days per week. It’s nice and it has blind spot monitor.
@@brianruperti That's where I get confused with the letter designations XE, SE and XSE. How do I know which model is for me?🤔🥺
How does one avoid that start and stop feature I head about that will wear out your starter motor?
One dealership told me they can put leather in but my first thought was that they would send it out to a shop-aftermarket. I was wondering if you have that choice coming from Japan factory? I did go on-line to Toyota website but it's confusing and even Toyota dealership told me it is a confusing website.
I think but am not sure that I would have to go with at least SE model to get the blind spot warning system on Corolla hatchback with 6 spd. manual.
I don't know what extras the XSE gets you in options but I know I don't want a sunroof. I don't need those fancy wheels that attract a thief, I don't need low profile tires with less rubber with soft sticky rubber that wears out faster and less cushion against road imperfections, bumps, potholes = deteriorating bumpy ride. Plus the cost is more to replace those kinds of tires and wheels/damage from curb rash. All of those options or wheel packages just add more $$$ and mark-up to vehicle price i.e Honda Civic with sunroof along with those tire and wheel packages.
The other important thing to me besides having a comfortable riding car of not having a bumpy stiff ride, road noise, engine noise is to have the top Toyota stereo system and speakers from the factory.
@@microminiskirt Your points are very valid. The manual transmission doesn’t have start stop. Even if you did, I don’t think it will destroy your engine. Hybrid Toyotas use this feature all the time and they last a very long time.
For available features and colors please refer to this: www.toyota.com/content/dam/toyota/brochures/pdf/2022/corolla_ebrochure.pdf

btw How do I show a digital display of my speed? I only see the big analog dial.
why my LE has aluminum rims, proximity lock and electric ignition? Are there several kinds of LE?
The LE has the option of an upgrade package which gets those options.
Does the car warn you when you’re switching lanes of cars close to you? Thank you for this video btw!!
The car only warns you if you’re going out of your lane without a signal. If you’re approaching a car during radar cruise control it will sense it and slow down. Hope that helps!

Yes I believe so
Please why does my brand new 2022 Toyota Corolla SE drain gas? I bought it last week I’ve driven it for 799 miles, and I have bought gas Four times; I literally buy fuel every two days.
I’ve never heard of that! Bring it to your dealer ASAP to have it inspected.
That Corolla may be a 🍋 with a fuel leak.
thank you so much guys, I’ll take it to Toyota today, or within the week.
@@brianruperti I have another question Mr Brian, when I bought the car, it was five miles on it. However, it was not tear rubber, so I asked the dealership guys to be sure, and they said it was brand new, that if I want them to put the rubber on it, I will have to pay extra money. So, I kept quiet… after-all, I was excited for my new car. So my question is, I’m I supposed to get the rubber with the car? Because I really feel there’s something fishy going on here; perhaps, a return car that had 5 miles on it was sold to me as new?
@@beatriceokoro8440 What do you mean it was “not tear rubber”?
Hi thanks for this video
I have a question, I just purchased the same car and when I switch gear from drive to park i hear weird sound in back tires . Is that normal sound in brand new car?
Yes. That’s sound is the electronic parking break engaging or disengaging. You’ll see the little “P” button the red light (near the shifter) change in unison with that sound!
Great video. Can you go under the hood and tell me if the car needs an inside hood liner to protect from engine heat. My SE did not come with one.
Thank you! The cars are not coming with the liner which is actually from what I am told just a sound barrier.
Did I miss the blind spot assistant info??
If the car has it, it’s a little orange light on the mirror that will strobe if you signal while it is on. Hope that helps

I totalled my 2018 corolla in a deer accident, my brother said that he will be ordering a 2022 corolla silver for around 20k from japan, is he getting a better deal this way ?
20k is a good deal in this market. Hope he’s ok.
I've heard the ones that are made in Japan are better. they may look the same but the material is of better quality.
@@RJ-cq9ib You can sometimes feel that absolute refinement of the Japanese Toyotas. But They all feel great. I’ve opened and closed probably at least 10,000 Toyotas over the last 5 years and it’s barely noticeable but sometimes I wonder if it’s just placebo 😅
Did the pre collision system kick in ?
@@LivingTheDream77 so far, the pre-collision system for 2018 corolla worked well to avoid hitting the car in front of you, it saved me 4 times from a serious accident. But the " deer collision " never worked and never warns me, maybe it don't have the " pedestrian detection, aka deer, bike etc given that it's a 2018 and not 2020 or 2022.... this is why I'm buying a brand new 2022 with zero miles which has an upgraded safety system 2.0... Turn key but yes keyless entry just hit the remote and it unlocks

@@jdmdirectimport7868 cheers
Is there a way for the lock buttons to light up at night like the other ones ?
If it isn’t equipped you’d be looking at a lot of $$$ to customize that. I suggest feeling for the 2 little dots on the button at night so you can “see” it with your fingers! Toyota gives you 2 little dots on the lock button of the key as well. Just feel for the nubby dots and I hope that will help.
Hey @Brian, my budget is constrained. Is hyundai accent a good choice under 20k?? Or should I increase my budget somehow to get a Corolla? Hows your experience so far?
Thanks.
100% Corolla. You’d expect me to say that. I love Toyotas. But do your research on Hyundais recall history and safety ratings. The Corolla is a larger and much safer car. It is actually an IIHS Top Safety Pick PLUS. The Accent is not. There is no price on safety. Please check out these links.
