Leslie VanGiesen, mother of Roberta Drury, gives victim impact statement

Roberta Drury, 32, was the youngest of the 10 victims of the Buffalo mass shooting on May 14, 2022. The gunman, Payton Gendron, was sentenced to life in prison without parole on February 15, 2023.

I'm confused. Is this the actual mother or just the representative of the family? Because there's another video of a heavy set black woman saying that she's the foster mother. So where does this lady come in? Is this the biological mother but she wasn't in her life? Not trying to be funny. Just trying to figure out what's going on.

This is her adoptive mother. I believe she was in foster care first before being legally adopted by this woman.
