  • Welcome (Bienvenidos) to Neil’s Spanish Fly Box, where we take a look at some of the flies used in Spain and elsewhere.
¿Hola, que tal? En principio, este es un video diseñado para pescadores que entienden inglés, pero por supuesto, ¡cualquiera puede verlos! Si eres un pescador de habla hispana y te gustaría comentar en español, te responderé en español. ¡No seas tímido!
Learn about some new (some, not so new) and interesting fly patterns, that can be found in every Spanish fly fisherman’s armoury, including some ‘must haves’! Real flies for real fly fishers.
I have fly fished in Spanish competitions for over a decade, on rivers and still water, learning a great deal about the Spanish way of fishing and the flies that are used.

Just finished off a black/gold rib buzzer with chartreuse flex floss cheek, and came to your channel to see perdigón styles. Great minds think alike!🤣

☺️Hello there! Thank you for your comment, but I’m pleased to say that we don’t just use perdigons in Spain! You are right of course, flexi floss is another, and more regularly used, name for this style of elastic silicone. I hope that your buzzer is a successful pattern and I’m flattered that you think I have a great mind!!😂🎣

Hello Bob, thank you for your comment on the tying. Sorry to hear that you are still suffering with snow. On the bright side, if you are not fishing, more time for that shoulder to heal!☺️Stay safe.👍

Took me a couple of tries but mine is now an approximation of yours. Thanks much let’s see how the trout like it.

Hello there, I hope that you are well. I understand therefore, that you also like still water fishing? I always enjoy fishing buzzers, in whatever incarnation they are. Sometimes it can be very exciting, as attacks can be quite ferocious and there is no warning. With some flies you may get a tap or a nibble before the take, but with a buzzer it’s all or nothing! Nothing can mean that you have lost your fly!😂On it’s day, trout love this fly, so I hope that your tying is a success.😉
