- www.dwponline.com/grease Watch Greaseman Thursday, January 10th, 1990 create a bit.1-takes the call 2-cue it up to that calls starting point 3-comes out of the song and takes the phone call by playing the tape back 4-hits the button and breaks back in LIVE to do the bit
This may not be one of his better bits but it clearly shows how effortlessly he constructed a story in such a short amount of time.
I miss the Greaseman! He was awesome!😀
howard stern has never and could never do what the greaseman does. The greaseman is briliant!!!
xyz123 it's a good thing Howard doesn't do this because this shit is horrible!
Howard best interviewer. Grease just for laughs.
Lol
im just heading out the door grease buddy!
A true master of his craft...first listened to him when he was at DC101...always made me laugh, never have i heard anybody on the radio that comes close to his ingenuity since...Thanks Grease!
I lived in Fredericksburg, VA in the late 80's, and managed to get him on the phone a few times on radio. I woke up early just to hear him, just the thing a 6th grader should do.
In his banter, he would always talk about the movie "Deliverance" and make references to "fudge-packing". Once, I got him on air and asked him, "Just how do you know so much about fudge-packing?" He immediately hung up on me and said over the radio, "Not so early in the morning young man!"
Good times.
13 years after your comment, it makes me laugh. Cheers
Broadcast radio in DC died when the Greaseman left the air. FM Radio will never be the same...
Saw him live once at DC101. Awesome talent.
Greaseman had a short stint in LA on KLOS in the mid 90s... funny as hell!
He just did this on the fly. Nice!
The BLACK CROWES appeared with ZZ TOP at the Cap Centre on Sunday and Monday, January 13th and 14th, 1990. Going by Grease's references to "Thursday", the upcoming Super Bowl, and an upcoming live BLACK CROWES studio appearance at DC101 on Monday afternoon, I'll bet this broadcast took place Thursday, January 10th, 1990.
I had moved to Alabama from Baltimore in 85, no Grease, no syndication......but I bought all of his cassettes and played them all the time.....miss this guy. In Birmingham we had Mark and Brian, they were very good, went to LA......
My dad has a tape of him from the 80's, scence I found it I haven't been able to get enough of him. Love his skits.
Grease man for president 💪🏼💪🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸
this is someone who actually cares about his fans
COMPLETELY AWESOME! I LOVE Grease!!!! UBER TALENT!
Right out of college and working in D.C. in my first real job in 1981. Tragically, the Air Florida plane crashed into the 14th St. bridge. All but 5 killed. A few days later, Howard Stern, then on DC101, calls the Air Florida ticket agent and asks "How much for a one-way ticket to the 14th Street bridge." A week later, he's out and The Grease is in!
Radio as live performance art. I went to school in DC in 1989-1991 and he was so much fun to listen to on DC101... the good old days!
Waddle doodle!
Pure freaking genius 😂👍🏻
To all those saying that The Greaseman's act isn't funny based on this clip or a combination of clips, he had a whole show with many sketches, etc. His show required a longer listen to appreciate his humor and the many skits he'd just improvise. His exit from D.C., if I remember correctly was due to some disparaging remark, the kind of which he'd make to all colors and etnicites, but dare not hint at to the black sacred cow population. He apologized profusely but they demanded the type of special overboard treatment they get. Too bad as it was the loss to all the rest. Doug wasn't and isn't a bigot or prejudiced, just an equal and mild, at that, offender. Compare his shtick to Stern's and he is way less offensive.
I dunno about all that. He came off of a Lauryn Hill song and said, "No wonder hillbillies are dragging them behind trucks" the week that happened in the south. I don't even think Stern in his hayday would've said THAT shit!
@@davey2dope Bwahahahahaha…still funny 30 years later
The best ever!! Genius!!
Stern is a shadow of his former self and should put himself down.
Please- his former self was a pathetic joke. The Greaseman was way better than that ugly parasite
+Stevetheperformer AGREEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Come on man we all get older are you the same Now like when you were 25. I recorded this stuff 35 years ago.
@@rockphotoman
Wow! It's been a minute or two!
Zippity doo-dads!
It's such a trip to see this like having grown up just hearing him and never seeing his face and imagining this kinda old Hugh Hefner-like lounge lizard kinda guy on a fancy yacht finally seeing decades later what the Greaseman actually looked like and what it was like in the studio.
Starting in 2002, he returned to the air from his home studio, broadcasting on WDMV-AM 700 (previously WGOP) near Frederick, Maryland, and was soon afterwards syndicated to numerous other stations in the region.
Remember when no one would broadcast his show and he had to buy time for it on a Vietnamese station in DC?
Linger longer!
DeMatha grad......late 1990s. Guy was a legend.
hey look: hes all coked up!
The 80s
waddledodumdaddledoodledadumdoodaday!
There is a talent it's funny you have to study the voices, there is talent he is corny but the average person couldn't do this.
Grease ROCKS, he's still around, sadly on AM

Selected Greaseman bits are heard during late PM drive on WGRX-FM 104.5 in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. Future plans and outlets are unknown at this time.
Hell yea
I wonder how he kept from cracking up. so funny!
Love his coke jaw
I agree 100%
where is greaseman these days? still in DC?
i do miss him so. i used to laugh so hard while listening to him on the way to work that i almost wrecked my car a couple of times.
HOUSE OF LORDS!!!
he needs to go back to dc101
I feel like Anthony Cumia musta taken influence from this guy. Similar kinda vibe and joke style sometimes. Kinda dark, over the top, anti-radio vibe. Edgy comedy on the fly. Sharp dudes those two.
holy shit. i can picture this playing on the small bus.
Still the most talented and naturally funny man in the business!
"Greaseman is a no talent racist. Who cares where he is and what he's doing."
Grow up. It's comedy you overly sensitive career victim.
Trump and the grease 2024!
I dont get it
I think this guy used to do tons of coke before his show...
I first heard about Grease from Opie & Anthony. He is one strange bird. Never heard anything quite like it. Too strange.
Horrible
No wonder they drag them behind trucks.
Sensitive blacks had to ruin grease soo sad 😔
ewwwwwww, he needs a straight jacket not a radio show
+killed by porn You need a dictionary. Not a youtube account. STRAIGHT JACKET, stupid.
killed by porn
I like the idea of driving the car. YOU get back there. No one will miss you.
+SonnyGTA
no you see, that's the joke your boyfriend, Greaseman, made which exposed him as a racist (who isn't even a funny racist). Since you didn't know that, you may also not know that he isn't on the air anywhere anymore...so I was right in the first place; people have already figured out that he shouldn't have a radio show.
+killed by porn no stupid. I KNOW the joke. That's why I said I would rather drive and pull YOU behind that truck. Listen. Stop trying to explain shit. Get a dictionary, get a clue and get a life. You'll never be 1/16th as successful as Grease was. You're a dummy. Accept it.
At least you corrected your previous spelling mistake! Good for you! You're on the right path.
He seems to have the "sniffles"
This man is a homosexual.
What gave it away?
And....
I can't imagine worse radio.
holy god is this unfunny
Holy crap this is horribly unfunny... and I just came from another video that was fucking horrible as well... but that's just my opinion... I really just came here to look at the comments to try to figure out what people actually liked about this guy's stuff lol I especially find the comments hilarious saying that this guy was way better than Howard Stern's show because that's complete nonsense!
I've always thought the depictions of sleezy radio DJ's were an exaggeration until I saw this guy. I never thought anyone would be phony enough actually distort their voice like that. Stern doesn't need a 30 second lead time to come up with a gimmick. It's just funnier when the caller is live and can interact with the people actually writing the jokes.
This man is low class...Stern 4 life!
CheapJabroni nope.
Howard Stern is high class. LOL
