This video really celebrates the rich history of the Orioles. The history of teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Dodgers are more popular than the Orioles. But how many other teams developed 4 20 game winners in a season, players like Cal Ripken, Brooks Robinson, Eddie Murray, and others? The history of the O's is often overlooked but no Orioles fan should forget it. DON'T FORGET THE ORIOLES MAGIC!!!!
Those four 20-game winners (1971) include Dave McNally, Jim Palmer, Pat Dobson, and Mike Cuellar. Boy, WHAT A ROTATION! By comparison, the 1975 Reds (my favorite team) did not boast one 20-game winner, though they likely would have had two if not for injuries to Don Gullett and Gary Nolan (both won 15 games). The Orioles had a stellar team back then, and a terrific managers in Hank Bauer and Earl Weaver (I don't remember who managed them in 1983). Even though they beat my Reds in 1970, I appreciate their greatness. Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Boog Powell, to name just a few. WHAT A TEAM!
TALKIN' BASEBALL ...... (Orioles Version) . Those early years were lots of fun, and though they lost more than they won, baseball had returned to Baltimore. Put 2 Robbys in the mix, and by 1966, the Orioles had put the Dodgers down in 4. I'm talkin' baseball, Gentile and John Orsino, Oriole baseball, Hoyt and Aparicio, the kiddie corps of Triandos and Billy Loes, Where was Jackie Brandt ??? Nobody Knows. I'm talkin' baseball ...... baseball and the O's. Earl came upon the scene, each year they had a winning team, play it smart, the breaks will come your way. 1970 champs, Grich, Davis, May, and Graham, whenever you saw Baltimore, they came to play. I'm talkin' baseball, Belanger, Ellie, Paul. Oriole baseball, Belle and Buford, Hall, Cuellar and McNally poised to throw, Boog Powell strikes another mighty blow, I'm talkin' baseball ...... baseball and the O's. When you're talkin' Baltimore baseball, the Babe, and John McGraw, Twenty games by 4 was done, Brooksie robs another one !!! Frank's Triple Crown the year they won it all, now Robby's in the Hall. The Orioles have tradition, and with Ken and Eddie switchin', they're aiming for the Series in the fall. New names join the old, another team unfolds, I'm a believer in Palmer and Weaver, so let's play ball !!! I'm talkin' baseball, Rick Dempsey and Richie Dauer, Oriole baseball, Roenicke, Ayala, Bumbry, Scottie, Mike, and Tippy, Stone. The wings will tell how far the Birds would go. I'm talkin' baseball ...... baseball and the O's. I'm talkin' baseball ...... baseball and the O's (the Birds !!!, the Birds !!!, the Birds !!!) I'm talkin' baseball, (the Birds !!!, the Birds !!!, the Birds !!!) Murray's the man, ball's in the stands, yeah. (the Birds !!!, the Birds !!!, the Birds !!!) I'm talkin' baseball, [very faintly ... @trainsrushrox Orioles and my Mets...kindred spirits... Great histories, All-Stars, pennants, HOFers, some of baseball's best moments... And now stuck in the cellar in both the AL and NL East thanks to owners... :/
@tthomaselli2 I believe a 7" was issued for each team and there was also a National League and an American League LP that featured all the teams in the league (at that time).
Earl Weaver was firecracker..a kick ass mgr.& a great one!! If you like baseball tunes check out "PLAYIN' BASEBALL"-CD(12-songs) by Ace Diamond.."It'll fire you up just Like Earl"!
I wonder what a modern version of this song would be. You would have to include Adam Jones, the Ripken family, Brady Anderson and 2012-16 Orioles. What else would you include in that version of this song?
We're talking softball From Maine to San Diego We're talking softball Mattingly and Canseco Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw Steve Sax and his run-in with the law We're talking Homer, Ozzie and the Straw
We're coming back in 2023. We're good

I am glad. I am a baseball fan. It is sad to watch teams with proud histories like the Orioles, Pirates and Royals struggle.
Still true to this day. Sad
It always swings around 😁

Opening day 2015 WOOooooooo

can we get an updated version of this song for the 2023-2024 AL East championship young Orioles team?
Back when the Orioles were good
they were good last year and going to be even better now!
Its cool to hear each team's verson of this song.
Dont ask me why but i find that its the closest version that we actually hearing in the Simpson's credits!
@tthomaselli2 I believe a 7" was issued for each team and there was also a National League and an American League LP that featured all the teams in the league (at that time).
Can you upload the other versions too? and this video has great quality btw
@olliegrind
What's the name of the one the Expos' version came off of, though?; Also, what year did it come out?
Talkin' softball
Earl Weaver was firecracker..a kick ass mgr.& a great one!! If you like baseball tunes check out "PLAYIN' BASEBALL"-CD(12-songs) by Ace Diamond.."It'll fire you up just Like Earl"!

@chazcov08
Transfer the record to an MP3.: :)
@MTMproductions630 Sorry - this is the only version I have.
Does anyone have these lyrics?
LORD PALMERSTIEN
Go O's and Mets
There needs to be an A's version of this song. :)
I believe Cashman made a version for every team at the time (even the Expos).
Why? They have their own tune.
And a Washington version of song.
rockvilleraven Fuck no, get out of here
olliegrind
I found the A's version. Not as impressed by it as the Orioles version. It doesn't seem as heartfelt and nostalgic. Oh, well. Go A's.
Dunno offhand - try google.
I love the Simpsons version more than this ;)
THE TIGERS WAS THE BEST!
The song is weird
It sucks the Orioles have been horrible since 2000.
have heart! wait till you find out about 2023-2024!
