Zermatt is beautiful isn't it. But you're right it is very expensive. Worth it though. You guys are so lucky. The weather was on your side. We saw lots of clouds. But got a glimpse of Matterhorn on our last day. Thanks for sharing your experience with us 😊 😀. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 😊
SO beautiful! We were very lucky with the weather, that’s for sure. Don’t you love going all way to see a mountain to see just a pile of clouds? We’ve had plenty of hikes end that way! Thank you for watching! We want to get out to Australia some day - we’ll have to connect with y’all ☺️
@@yazminmojica4458 Thank you for watching! We went in August, and if I am remembering correctly we visited on a weekday. It was definitely in our favor 😂
If you want to save some money on the ride to the Gornergrat (or Klein Matterhorn, Rothorn, etc.) and are there in the winter, buy a ski pass for the day. Usually much cheaper. 😊
We visited in August! I would imagine April would be warming up, but I would recommend checking online for average annual temperature ranges in different months. That usually helps us decide!
The constant focus on money in many of these videos seems a bit sad. 🤔Switzerland is a premium travel destination with the corresponding prices. Tourists should focus more on travelling to destinations they can afford. The rest can watch YT videos. Compared to some prices of travel destinations in the US, Switzerland is cheap. I don't see many people complaining about spending $ 275 per PERSON per DAY for a family of 4 at Disneyland, only to spend the whole day standing in lines for 2 hours per ride for 4 rides. At Gornergrat, you could hike down to Zermatt in 3 hours on an unforgettable trail for free and discover the fabulous nature and create lifelong memories. Priceless! 😏😉
Sorry to hear that you feel videos like these are sad! We had a beautiful time experiencing Switzerland affordably, and we did so by making careful budgetary choices. Where you may see a focus on money, others see transparency. There are a lot of reasons someone might choose to make a video speaking to the financial details, and we choose to do it to help people conceptualize and prepare for what a trip would look like for them if they choose to pursue it themselves. What is in our budget may not be in the budget of others and vice versa, and it’s up to them to determine what that budget is. Affordability is subjective. There’s no harm in putting the information out there to let a viewer determine for themselves if they’d like to consider visiting. Some people make RUclips videos to help people live vicariously through them, and as you imply. Some videos are designed to give people information. On this channel you’d expect to see the latter. Information helps people make decisions about their own lives and plans. You will also not see us spending $275 per person per day at Disney world. That’s not how we choose to spend our money or time. For those that do, great. And I imagine there are hundreds of channels that showcase doing just that. As you say, Switzerland can be very cheap. Our videos in this series are transparent about the budget meals, campsites, and affordable experiences. Feel free to circle back to earlier videos in this series for a look ☺️
I, for one, appreciate the pricing information. As someone who is careful about budgeting, it's helpful to know how much something is gonna cost, and to know if something is potentially worth what it costs. Also, way to gatekeep, man. If someone wants to do something and doesn't want to spend a ton of money doing it, good for them! If people focused on traveling the way you prescribe to be correct, then tons of people wouldn't get to experience many of these wonderful places, and THAT is truly sad. To the Mays, keep doing the good work! There are plenty of people out here that appreciate the effort you're making to inform all of us
@@EarlSwinton776 So glad you’re finding these helpful! Videos are a more recent venture for us after several budget trips over the years. Perhaps as a budget-minded traveler yourself you might agree - the research can be so much FUN. Seeing how others navigate different locations with their own budgets as it compares to yours personally in the planning stages of a trip is so helpful and entertaining. We want to help people feel prepared for their own travel! Perhaps a $145 round trip train ticket is no matter for some, and for others it requires some careful planning and weighing of options and priorities. Thank you again for your kind comment! If there is anything specific you'd like to see us try to speak to in terms of budgeting, please let us know. The next video is in the works now, and we're likely going to have a "Switzerland on a Budget" video at the end of this series to discuss some key takeaways for those that just want the highlights.
