- The Matterhorn in Switzerland is the most majestic place in Switzerland. In this video, we will travel from Zermatt to the top of the Matterhorn on the Gornergrat Bahn. Before we start our ascent to the world famous Matterhorn in Switzerland, I will share some tips on how to have a pleasant trip to the top of this magnificent destination. I will also share a tip how to save a few dollars on your Matterhorn excursion. We will take a quick look at some amazing food to fill your belly, so you don't start your trip to the Matterhorn on an empty stomach. Once we make it to this magical place in Switzerland I will give you some history and facts about the heavenly mountain that touches the sky in Switzerland. Random question, but what is the cost of a coke ? Great video, very informative! Looking forward to more!
Well it’s a little over 4 Swiss franks! So not cheap ! Switzerland can be really expensive so it’s good to budget!
Check the weather, then *watch Zermatt Webcams, to get an idea when you may see Matterhorn.*
I don't know about winter time, but in Summer time, it is very elusive. You may stay in Zermatt 3 days, and still can't see Matterhorn, like for next 7 days (today is 7/16/2023).
To give yourself a better chance seeing Matterhorn, you may have to make your plan flexible (of course you may pay more for hotels).
But IF you can see Matterhorn like the reflection of Matterhorn in Riffelsee lake, you will find that your trip to Switzerland is worth every penny you spend no matter what happens in the remaining stops of your trip.
I was able to see it clearly at the beginning of January. It was totally worth the money!

Hello, will be visiting Switzerland next week, and planning to see the Matterhorn. Worried about the weather though :/ Was this video taken in June ??? Will make sure to pick a sunny day to see it. Will there be this much snow in June ? Thank you !!!!
Hey, no worries that video was taken in February of last year, so it was pretty cold. Summers in Switzerland are pretty nice so I think you’ll be fine. No worries. There should be some snow seeing the altitude is high, but it won’t be like when I was there.. have a great trip. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.
One tip: sit on the right side of the Gornergrat train while going up.

I have some footage but don’t have a a video made of it. One of my shorts shows a clip from the observatory during a snow storm up there. If you haven’t visited it I highly recommend .
We are going September, can you give us any tips. So you recommend taking some chocolate up the mountain for altitude sickness? We are going up the Jungfraujoch too so you've worried me now after seeing you struggled up the Gornegrat.😯
I think you will do just fine! Most people have no trouble. You might notice a little but most people adjust just fine. I have a higher red blood cell count than most people so altitude can increase that a bit. I really wouldn’t be too concerned. Grab you some chocolate and maybe a bottle water just in case but really I’m sure you will be fine. I see plenty of people up at those places looking like they are just fine. It doesn’t effect everyone. If you do go to a place like mentioned and you have any trouble they recommend just giving yourself a little time before you go any higher. Pharmacists can even give you something if you feel really bad. All in all I’d say go enjoy yourself ! You will love the Jungfraujoch as well! Both breathtaking views! Close to 3 and a half hours. It’s a nice train ride! I recommend the Swiss Travel Pass if you plan on traveling much in Switzerland
Where could I sign up to go?
You can reach the Matterhorn by The Gornergrat train in Zermatt. You don’t really need to sign up you just purchase your tickets to go. The Gornergrat Train is about an 8 minute walk from the Zermatt Bahnhof. That just means train station .
When will you being taking a group?
