The Comp Q is basically an Identical to the Q series square model, the box specs are the same, same motor, just different shape cone. I’ve been using and installing the Kicker Solobaric square subs since they were first released around 20 years ago. I started building slot port boxes for them right in the beginning and we did have a really high percentage of customers who bought the cheaper L5 version rather than the L7, and quite a bit more than the average number of them were blowing the subs up in the vented boxes, most likely from not using a subsonic filter which was super important with them, and they also really needed a good break in period before going hard. I’ve owned and used over 50 different subs going back to 1992, and the only time I’ve ever blown one up not on purpose was when I had a sponsor deal with Kicker in 2008 or so, and had built a big custom system in my 2003 Mustang Cobra, where I had done a sealed box for 3 of the L5 10’s, each running off its own Kicker 750.1 amp and within the first few days I had one sub sieze up. I called my guy at Kicker to see if he wanted me to send it in and 3 days later before I got a call back there were 3 L7 10’s at my door. Obviously never had another issue… the new q series are really nice and loud, they just need a big box if you want ported with good lows for bass heavy music.

Yea the p1 p2 even the p3 is reasonable but once u get in to the power series the price jumps dramatically and from there you have too sell your first born to afford and are not quite up to par with sundown and dc
@@casey360360 depends what you’re after, I have a set of P2s and they could be louder, but they’re very clean sounding which was a compromise I made when I chose them over the Kicker CVRs
I have a p3 12 I dont think its worth 280 even when it was 250 I dont think it was it looks really good but there not a ton special about it ive tried it free air ill try it in a box when I get one but I dont have more hopes for it then something else
This series was great as I've only experienced the solobaric subwoofers by Kicker! Would love to see another series like this but with a different brand!

I had a Kicker Comp 10 laying around and decided to build a box for it. Turns out its seriously no freaking joke. In the box I designed and built, I got a reading of 126.7 Dcb on my windshield in an SUV, the certified microphone I was using dropped off in between 40-50 hz so I did the test at 50hz, box is tuned to 35.5hz. I'm beyond impressed with it. Once I get my box for 4 15's built my wifes getting the box with a Kick Comp VX 10.
The kicker q subwoofer would be something nice to own. It is an upgrade to my 6.5" LG subwoofer. If i won it I would give it a custom 20 Hz box in a room setup along with 880 watts rms of power. The dsp would be present to prevent overexcursion. Im a 13 year old who started bass recently and have been learning since!

I got back into the slam almost two yrs ago. Stepped straight into kicker. Went from comp 10s to comp c12, to comp c 12 with solo classic 12 in comp c box. Classic does fine vented.. cvx or cvr gonna replace comp c soon for a slam box!

I always ran kickers back in the day. Still had a 12inch comp in a box that was in the back of my son's closet. Had been in there so long couldnt remember how it was wired up. Took the screws out to pull the sub out and when I reinstalled the screws my drill slipped and poked a hole in the baffle. Bought a Comp R to replace it and developed a rattle. Honestly sounds like a piece of plastic kicking around under the cone.
I appreciate all the work you do reviewing and testing subs. You helped me out alot deciding on what subs to get. Thank you. Could definitely put that kicker to use.

Had a couple cvr 12s on a DD 1K back in the day. Shit banged for what it was. Moved up to sundown shortly after they died. If I were to grab a daily system I wouldn't hesitate to grab another set.

I'm already 48 years old with twins and I'm back in car audio 2 1/2 to 3 years ago when I got on RUclips and got off of Facebook when I encountered a bunch of car audio channels including YOURS and it got me back in and I love it as a hobby and it relieves a lot of stress in my life I would definitely build a nice custom box for that subwoofer in my Ford F-150 I actually have a picture of it on my screen on my Pioneer for a wallpaper that would be so sick man. It's funny car audio , you start to mess around with it and you think you're satisfied and done with what you've got and then nope it's like an addiction once you start it's hard to get off again plus watching all your channels and everybody's it gets you amped up all excited, stoked, pumped up you can name. It just very interesting stuff to learn especially watching all these car audio channels it it gets You motivated and then you start thinking about stuff to do to your own car thanks alot Parker..is all your fault 😂😂😂 LOL hahaha .. but I've always loved and dreamed of a comp Q it's too damn expensive and with my twins now.. I've been a huge Kicker fan since mid 90s. Still have Comp C12a and just sold Comp 18s. The base Comp from few yrs ago w yellow K actually badass for $80. L7 are special kind of subs
I'll use it in my house. So I can watch RUclips and have good bass with my entertainment system. Or I may put it in my truck or boat. Great video on all of Kicker's round subwoofers.
Good stuff Parker full kicker line up minus a few. I would still just put it in my work civic and enjoy my 30 minute traffic filled drive both to and from work lol my favorite part is making people uncomfortable in traffic with the bass.. See them trying to roll up there windows and give dirty looks lol basshead life.

Fs on my CompR is 26hz. I had 1 hooked up to a orion xtr1000 at 1 ohm and it held, got a little stinky on some brutal songs once or twice but I held no punches and beat on it everyday for about 4 months before getting a bdc4 12 but it never blew.
As always, great video. Since I'm introducing my oldest daughter to the basshead life, I would love to make that Kicker Q her first sub in her first car!

Awesome video bro. I wanna say I’ve had most of those kicker subs except for the cvx. I have the Comp q and it is amazing. It gets the job all the way done. I appreciate the Comp r & Comp c as well they led me up to the Comp q and I am on my 3rd month rocking it with my 1k watt pioneer amp & 6 way prv audio speakers 🔊 on my temporary crunch 1500w amp. Sounds amazing I’ll soon post videos

The comp q series sound amazing. Don’t sleep on them. Very few subs can perform and sound at that price.

Had a couple cvr 12s on a DD 1K back in the day. Shit banged for what it was. Moved up to sundown shortly after they died. If I were to grab a daily system I wouldn't hesitate to grab another set.

Yeeeeeeeeeeew... bro I always wanted a comp Q all my life that would be so sick. I'm already 48 years old with twins and I'm back in car audio 2 1/2 to 3 years ago when I got on RUclips and got off of Facebook when I encountered a bunch of car audio channels including YOURS and it got me back in and I love it as a hobby and it relieves a lot of stress in my life I would definitely build a nice custom box for that subwoofer in my Ford F-150 I actually have a picture of it on my screen on my Pioneer for a wallpaper that would be so sick man. It's funny car audio , you start to mess around with it and you think you're satisfied and done with what you've got and then nope it's like an addiction once you start it's hard to get off again plus watching all your channels and everybody's it gets you amped up all excited, stoked, pumped up you can name. It just very interesting stuff to learn especially watching all these car audio channels it it gets You motivated and then you start thinking about stuff to do to your own car thanks alot Parker..is all your fault 😂😂😂 LOL hahaha .. but I've always loved and dreamed of a comp Q it's too damn expensive and with my twins now.. I've been a huge Kicker fan since mid 90s. Still have Comp C12a and just sold Comp 18s. The base Comp from few yrs ago w yellow K actually badass for $80. L7 are special kind of subs

Good stuff Parker full kicker line up minus a few. I would still just put it in my work civic and enjoy my 30 minute traffic filled drive both to and from work lol my favorite part is making people uncomfortable in traffic with the bass.. See them trying to roll up there windows and give dirty looks lol basshead life.

Fs on my CompR is 26hz. I had 1 hooked up to a orion xtr1000 at 1 ohm and it held, got a little stinky on some brutal songs once or twice but I held no punches and beat on it everyday for about 4 months before getting a bdc4 12 but it never blew.
As always, great video. Since I'm introducing my oldest daughter to the basshead life, I would love to make that Kicker Q her first sub in her first car!

Awesome video bro. I wanna say I’ve had most of those kicker subs except for the cvx. I have the Comp q and it is amazing. It gets the job all the way done. I appreciate the Comp r & Comp c as well they led me up to the Comp q and I am on my 3rd month rocking it with my 1k watt pioneer amp & 6 way prv audio speakers 🔊 on my temporary crunch 1500w amp. Sounds amazing I’ll soon post videos
