I appreciate the consistent quality in the kicker lineup. You maxed all of em out pretty good and the only one that gave you even light problems was the one that was clicking. Impressive! Hope to see more companies allowing you to check their subs out for us!
Kip and the crew at kicker has in my opinion the best customer service as a manufacturer goes, they go beyond hands down and there podcast is a must watch for a new car audio individual or a person that like me that has a MECP and Basshead since the early 90's. Kicker for the win
You should test most efficient subs.. what gets you the most bass with the least amount of Watts... Something on the lower range like 300-500 rms range. These massive subs need to much power and upgrades for the average person.
That’s actually not true. Research it. For subwoofers the lower the sensitivity the easier it is to reproduce bass. And there are also written tests about it online. I had a JL audio. Got rid of it because even at the same amount of watts my sundown audio sounded louder and deeper. Also sounded more clean and rich.
Man I had the little JL Slash 250/1 and two 12" w1's in a work van... That sh!t killed..! People constantly accused me of having another amp hidden....lol In the late 80's I had a Kenwood (real Kenwood not cheap Best Buy Kenwood) amp that was only 75w per side and a pair of 8" Pyle truck boxes (Pyle also used to be a high quality brand) in a VW Bug and that sh!t rocked...! you're ears would be ringing when you got out...lol These huge wattage subs and amps are a marketing scheme to cater to big egos... and is unnecessary, people were absolutely killin" it with just 100"s of watts in the late 80's and 90's... But the companies know that people are Excellent Consumers...! LOL

Working with machine screws often, I would say #8-24 or #8-32 screws and insert nuts. #10-24 or #10-32 are beefier but might have to big of a head on the screws to fit the mounting holes of the subs.
I have the Q class 12's and the Comp VX 12's These subs perform excelent in the correct enclosure. If you want good correct bass go with kicker, if you are just looking to shake the hell out of your vehicle / neighborhood without reguard to sound quality, go with sundown or skar.
Just bought 2 q-class 8 L7s for my new Toyota 86. Can’t wait to build a sick box for them. They’re both heavy and should be monsters together at 2 ohms, being fed by my JL 900/5.
Right on man!! My buddy has a hard on for Kicker. I'll be sharing this video with him. I'm still kicking the shit outta my Audiopipe BDC2s. Going strong!! Keep the awesome videos coming dude.
The sq will def be better with kicker than other subs in that price range. I've had a American bass and it sounded ok but not as good as the more expensive alpine r's. No doubt they get louder but they lack the r&d that companies like kicker n alpine pit into their product. Def far from knocking any sub I'm abusing skars subs rn n they're loud n handle gobbs of power but lack the sq I had with the alpine. None the less, awesome video thanks for sharing!
Amazing job in this video, I'm greatly impressed. Your only running one box which keeps your ideal cabin freq, and your explaining how your cabin reacts to just a single sub which gives other the right idea in building. Question: Have you considered lithium batteries for your SMD meter? Keep up the great work, you'll reach 50k subs no time brotha!!
Haven't ran a system in a vehicle in a over a decade and was thinking of putting one in my car. I was debating on which sub to get and almost ended upbgetting a Sundown but then I saw a video of this sub and I couldn't resist. Not a lot of content on youtube about it but ended up picking up the 2ohm version, a kicker amp and built a custom box. I always ran dual subs like Kicker Comps and never imagined the bass I could get from just 1 sub with a custom built box. I am beyond happy with my set up and highly recommend this sub if your a looking for some hard hitting bass. My setup is 1 kicker 12inch dvc 2ohm wired to 1 ohm. Kicker 46CXA8001 amp with a ported 2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 35. I do wish I would have picked up the 1200 watt amp but pretty impressed with what I got.
This is the best sub ive ever seen for SQL at this price point. Had it for years with 700 watts going to it. And it hits incredibly accurate and clean and can take more. Biggest thing is make sure it's in a good box. Mine was too small at first.
Those comp q subs sound really good. Too bad you don’t have a more in spec box, that one looks way too big for it, that port too. They can get pretty loud without a ton of power.
i'm pretty sure that could be built to specs, often they recommend/use small boxes at a high (40Hz) tuning frequency assuming that the cars' cabin will "amplify" the even deeper bass enough to where you don't need a huge box and still get decent output under 30Hz, but proper sub boxes are built differently, with a tuning of 20-25Hz and a large port to get rid of port noise at those deep frequencies, because more indepth builders don't wanna rely on cabin acoustics, and just use a dsp in the end to get peaks out that will also improve power handling and overall output at the deepest spectrum.
I've been a long time watcher never really comment but you have great video quality, keep doing what you're doing you're going to blow up soon just stay with it.

I bought the q class square 15" 3 years ago about. The corners of the surround broke after a year of playing. The box I built maybe was the issue. A 3.2 sqft sealed. I powered it with a JL 1000 amp. My electrical system could never let that JL scream so I know it wasn't over 1200 as the sub was rated. Maybe that's why they got rid of the square q class? Idk I will say though. Best quality sound and on point with the beats for the q class. Even when broken. I just left the seat up so I didn't hear the mush.
Great video Parker! Do you use the AMM-1 when you dial in the RMS power like you do for the musical tests? I’m just curious. It would be cool to see in one of your reviews how you dial in your gain having such a powerhouse running these lower powered subs.

That would be my guess but kickers are pretty underrated too. I put at least 1000 watts to a cvr 10. It was just for a day to try my amp at 1 ohm but that little sucker took it like a champ
hey man love your vids and always watch them! just a quick question... have you considered doing amp dynos/reviews? I would love to see that fron you, there are obviously people out there that do them like you do subs, but id rather watch you do them
Love the vids I've never liked kicker subwoofers cost to much for what they are kinda like JL W7's waist of money but there older kicker zx2500.1 amps were nice.
How do they cost to much for what they are🤔 There is only 1 sub like subs from Kicker, JL, Memphis, MTX, Orion, Rocksford Brands like this have to pay a lot more money because they have there own build houses and they do all there own Research and developing. They do all the Homework so that all these Pure SPL cookie cutter brands can feed off there Research. That cost a lot of money alone plus all the machines and equipment. There is a difference between overpriced and expensive. Like the JL W7 13-1/2 Is still the best subwoofer on the market and has been for years. There wouldn't be Sundown if not for what JL did. Yea its way to Exspensive but not for what it is because it is the only one. If you look at all the test done on Sub comparison It is still the sub that is on top. It is the most Spl+Sq efficient Sub on the market. Yea you can take a sundown and put 6,000 watts to it and spend way more money on upgrading electrical to try and get the same SPL but its going to sound like trash. They hit over a 175 with 4 JL 13 w7 on 2400 watts. No other subwoofer can do that period. These cookie cutter brands are not efficient at all and they go only for SPL and actually are overpriced (Not too expensive) The other brands you get way more quality. If you are going to a competition and putting 12 18" subs then sundown is looking great. But if you are wanting something high quality Efficient and sounds good while still having a lot of Spl then you should go with the big boys.
Soundquebed hdx3 for the money. If the comp qs were priced around the comp r range then comp q for sure. They are just to pricey with the other competitors
But wattage is not a direct representation of output or quality. The sensitivity along with wattage maybe. But saying a sub is better because it takes more watts to do the same thing is like saying a car goes faster because it takes more fuel. Sure race cars get poor mpg but you can't just say oh that car is slow because it has good better mpg

I’d be interested how the q class compares to an sa12. Similar prices and rms. Both from pretty reputable companies that go hard testing their products
Just from what I've seen the Sa would be louder because they are underated on their power handling and also because the Q is kickers SQ sub
That would be my guess but kickers are pretty underrated too. I put at least 1000 watts to a cvr 10. It was just for a day to try my amp at 1 ohm but that little sucker took it like a champ
Been waiting on this video like the looks of that sub
hey man love your vids and always watch them! just a quick question... have you considered doing amp dynos/reviews? I would love to see that fron you, there are obviously people out there that do them like you do subs, but id rather watch you do them
You should check out the Crossfire line of 12s. Id love to see a Crossfire in that beautiful box!
Kicker any day. SQ before noise always
But if you are wanting something high quality Efficient and sounds good while still having a lot of Spl then you should go with the big boys.
you’ll get 32k in no time, just got some kicker speakers would love to add of any of these beasts to complete the whole kicker setup 💪
Keep up the great work on these vids bro
Soundquebed hdx3 for the money. If the comp qs were priced around the comp r range then comp q for sure. They are just to pricey with the other competitors
Sounds good but too expensive for the rms rating
what does that even mean
@@phillipmiller1989 it cost too much and your not getting that much watts or not enough power.
Parker your the bomb man. To many more years and vids cheers 🍻
Good evening Parker. Could you send me the link to the box builder? Please and thank you in advance..
Thank you for all the videos bro, i think i need that sub in my life😂😂👀👀

@@thaboiimarcos9459 i really do you cant get anything good, car audio wise in new zealand 😂😂 kinda sucks
@@orlandotaavale8672 LMAO welll kicker sucks kicker is not good audio go with something like audiopipe or skar if you got no budget go sundown
@@thaboiimarcos9459 Thats your opinion not everyone is a brand fanboy like you
@@redman4076 your right im jus stading my opinion but im not trying to get your hopes down im jus saying kicker has a really bad reputation with a lot of people including me
Thx for the vid Parker! Keep up the good work man✊
