- Hermitcraft season 9 episode 15! We start out big with our Minecraft 1.19 let's play ep 15 on the Hermitcraft 9 server by returning to my Disneyland-inspired megabase for Hermitcraft. I'll build the first builds along Main Street. The building will contain my automated storage system. Also, we explore the DeepDark and get chased by a Warden named Allen. I hope you like the new buildings in the theme park and the adventures in the Ancient City in the Minecraft 1.19 update on Hermitcraft.

I thought so too, but then it stopped. Maybe Grian dared Scar to be obsessed with goat horns for part of an episode. What makes this more likely is the fact that Scar didn’t say anything about why he loves them so much.

Personally i didn't want them for lag reasons but if you promise something and then walk it back it won't go over well even with clear communication on the exact reasons.
I also think the mud feels more like stone than mud, especially since it doesn't slow you down or make you sink into it with suctiony footsteps. Just making it retextured soul sand minus bubbles would have been much more realistic, walking in deep mud is very hard and slow going.
While the Warden does hunt based on sound, when he stops to do that sniff motion, he is still sensing where you are, so that you can't just stand still to be 100% safe. This is why he found you. He didn't attack immediately because he was making sure you really were there. The roar was your final warning to run away, as he was entering his attack mode.

Scar makes everything look 10 times more easy. The day he got the update, he got goat horns without even realizing it , found the mangrove swamp, unintentionally found an exposed ancient city, got swift sneak II in his first chest. I mean come on!

It's really cool to see someone actually taking into account things like "Go-Away Green" and the HVAC systems that are hidden in theme parks in the real world. It shows a dedication to detail that you wouldn't get from most other builders. I can't wait to see where this project goes!

Scar, don’t forget you can also make the buildings “Bye-Bye Blue” so it blends in with the sky if it’s being seen from a distance without foliage around it!

I feel like a fitting name for the theme park would be "The Wonderful World of Hermits and Crafting", or TWWOHAC for short.
Scar has officially found a way to do builds that explicitly don't need a back. Truly revolutionary for the hermits, who as we all know have back-of-building allergies. It's a terrible disease, but now scar has found a cure!

Scar was just patiently waiting, allowing the Warden to sniff him out.
Thanks to Scar, I learned how lenient is the Warden with the player who does nothing. Scar had all the time in the world to quietly leave.

Hey Scar! You really should do a haunted house attraction! It would fit the theme park perfectly and with those new blocks from the deep dark like that screeching sound sensor block and with some mobs made from armour stands that cleo does like a creeper that could pop out of a red stone door. That would be amazing! And watching other hermits go into it and getting scared would be the ultimate prank of the season
Also it could be called SCARy ride or something along those lines

My guess is that the reason Scar said “goat horn” so many times in the intro is because of hermit dares, either that or he’s just really excited about them.
I figured it was Hermit Dares right up to the cut to a mountaintop surrounded by goats. It could _still_ have been a dare, but considering how enthusiastic he was about all things 1.19 in this episode it may have just been Scar being Scar.
@@Pooglian I mean his dare could have been, "Add goathorn to every sentence until you get a goathorn" He stops exactly when he gets one.
The only problem with that is he repeatedly states that no one was online when he started. So unless he was dared right before server shutdown for the 1.19 update, its hard to see who could have dared him.

My favorite building so far is the semi-circular granite one, I've got a soft spot for circular builds in Minecraft because they're a pain to do! Plus when they're done well they look super cool

“Good Times Resort” or “Jellie & Jelly Theme Park” are good titles for the mega base.
Edit: You totally need to build Yoda’s hut in the roots of a mangrove tree if you do building in Mangrove Forests or make your own swamp somewhere (maybe even build a sunken x-wing)
Just watched this episode and was thinking that little huts in the roots would be pretty cool. Yoda and an X-Wing would be even cooler!

Scar has genuinely done a lot of research about themeparks, and that makes this build even better than it alread is.
There's true effort spent into making it as close to something found in real life. He's actually done his homework and incorporating those things into the build.
Great job so far, and hope to see this when it's finished.
He should make a parody of It’s a Small World except have it showcase all the hermitcraft seasons with Cleo’s armor stands.
I think it was Mumbo that said that when he asked Scar for help with build stuff, Scar pulled out an entire stack of books on architecture and design.
I think it would be cool to see him use the new sculk sensors And blocks to create a horror themed amusement park ride
Ikr, it is so refreshing and fun to watch him nerd out about this stuff, he seems to really enjoy it.
I loved the contrast between knowing so much about themeparks and building and then not knowing anything about how the warden works
A chest monster amusement ride could be an excellent addition to the park.

Hey scar! Advice on transporting the frogs, if you breed two of them, you can put the tadpoles in a bucket and transport them back home through your inventory!

i know that the colour the frogs are is based on the biome they spawn in, is this determined when they are tadpoles or when they grow up from tadpoles?

I love hearing scar talk about the thoughts and ideas behind his builds, and I love how much he knows about the behind-the-scenes and logistics of theme parks! One of my favorite things about any piece of art is seeing the process behind it, like the appendices of Lord of the Rings, with all the set building, actor training, and prop-making! Video game concept art, deleted scenes from movies, interviews with authors....it's just so interesting!!
You’re so right. It adds so much always hearing all the thought and attention to detail Scar puts into everything he builds. This man is beautiful.

someone didn't warn Scar that the Warden can smell for you, so holding still doesn't help you
it also has a range attack that goes through blocks and I think also goes through shields
Yep. It's ranged attack is magic damage like the evoker's spikes, so it ignores the shield.

I think that as long as they fit with the color pallette it will be fine. You don't want eyesores for garbage cans, not that garbage cans are good to look at in any capacity, but yeah.
The second I saw the Warden sniffing out Scar, I was mentally yelling for him to run. I loved this endeavour into the Deep Dark!

This build really feels like Disney.
As for the deep dark blocks, a futuristic section could have them behind windows to look like outer space. If you want to farm them, grab one of those skulk catalysts that are down there and attach it to a mob farm. Whenever one dies, the skulk spreads.

Oh they make great star field/night sky illusions because they twinkle! I'm actually using an array of sculk farms and wool to build rainbow road from mario kart

Scar, to get frogs you should get tadpoles in a bucket and use different biomes to get the different frogs and then maybe some froglights to add to your building palette of your theme park!
Scar! Major props on the added detail of the retractable parade lighting on the rooftops (@21:00). I'm an entertainment lighting tech at Disney World and that detail made my day! Can't wait to see your project theme park continue to progress! BTW I propose Jellieland as the name.

Wardens have a strike system where the won’t spawn until you’ve had 3 strikes, but they can also smell which is why it could find you even when you stood still, also the Warden can shoot things out, it’s called it’s sonic shriek, it can go through blocks and it does it when it can’t reach you, it also ignores enchantments on your armour
Doesn't it ignore armor, like magic damage, drowning damage, etc?

@@Verd3nt it’s 3 warnings and then any more from there will cause a warden to spawn, and once you’ve gone through your warnings, unless you die, every time you set of a shrieker it will spawn a warden if another warden isn’t within 45 blocks (depending on what version of 1.19 you play as the range can vary (if you’re really curious about your specific range, you’ll have to search it up))
Thinking about it, Scar’s main street alone is basically the entirety of Grian’s base from last season. This is gonna be one heck of a build once it’s complete!

There’s also something that I’m pretty sure is called “bye bye blue” it works the same as your light gray. I never heard of light gray being used but I’ve heard of the Go Away Green and when I learned it I was taught a light sky blue to blend into the sky.
The warden not only senses sound but when it's quiet he starts to use his nose to track you down

Scar, there were a lot of mobs as mobs don’t spawn in the deep dark and since there was a deep dark biome right under all of the mobs spawned on top
To be honest, I kind of like the really mob populated fields! It felt far more alive than regular minecraft

15:45 OOH, that's the reason there are so many mobs! there's an Ancient City below, since no mobs can spawn there, all the mobs that could spawn in the depths spawn in the surface and since is daytime and no monsters can spawn, it translates to a lot of animals
There is a seperat mobcap for hostile and passive mobs, so no thats not why.
The've had an issue with hostile mobs being generated twice in the chunks that they previously regenerated (like 6 elder guardians per ocean monument), so it might have affected the neutral mobs here too and the herds are doubled?

Hey Scar... uhh... just so you know, as a brand new feature with the proximity chat mod, Sculk Sensors can detect your voice when you aren't crouching. That's how Alan was able to hear you. You weren't crouching and he could detect you by using the Skulk Sensors. Thought you should know that, loved the vid by the way, can't wait for the next one!
I think a good name for the theme park would be, "Jolly Jelly World."

You could call it Jellieville and have jellies (heads and cats when you find them) hidden through the park and some of the cats could hide secret messages like a mystery to solve in the park and whichever hermits solves it gets like a loot box or something. That would get more hermits to your shops too to make more diamonds :)
Now in 1.19 you can waterlog leaves, so you can put coral among the greenery with out it drying.
