I bought a foam roller a while ago and have been ignoring it (and this video) for too long. After my run today I decided to watch the video and try out Heather’s foam roller stretches. They are great! I felt better immediately. Wow! Thank you 👍🏻😁
I’m certainly not a triathlete but I’m an avid runner and weight lifter. I find myself coming to this channel more than any other channel for ways to stay healthy as an athlete. Thanks for such amazing content.
The first two weeks of using this are going to be tough, but after that for anyone who sticks with it the recovery it provides and relief is something you won't dream of finishing a workout without.
Thank you for sharing this! I've been wanting to get one and have been reluctant due to injuries. I've only tried the ones at my gym, which I found to be way to soft. Watching this has helped me decide on just getting one. Thanks again to you and everyone there. Love your channel!
Thanks, made my day. It was interesting to see how versatile it is. As a cyclist, I use it mostly on my legs and glutes. Thanks for sharing and for the work that went into it. Cheers!
Have a foam roller and have used it a lot before my wife bought me the Hyperice Hypervolt massager. I ride almost everyday and the Hyperice is awesome. Gets rid of the muscle ache. Works for me.
This F.R. thing helped me to resolve my calf strained issues ... the way it goes is to release the stuck fascias ...Now using before and after my 10 ks ...
I used to use a foam roller everyday, the last 6 months I've been using the recovapro instead, gets into and loosens the muscle much better with much less pain which is a bonus 😀
Got one to try and help with piriformis syndrome. Seems to be doing the trick slowly (alongside stretches). Learning how to use it in other ways, and now excited!
There is evidence that the term myofacial release is very wrong with these things (i still use them personally but they dont do what they say they do) but they are still probably help with rom and fatigue/soreness
1. I have a soft foam roller. After a minute of use, it looks like an hourglass. Its best to stick with either plastic (like in the video) or hard foam. 2. Is rolling on a tendon harmful? In my calf, my Soleus typically gets much more sore than my Gastrocnemius. It is partially under by the upper Gastro. head of the Achilles tendon, and that is where I typically roll it. Similarly with rolling the IT band. It gets the Vastus Lateralis muscle underneath, and not so much the IT tendon, which does not really respond to rolling.
Just bought one of these this morning from a charity shop lol, paid 2 quid. I have plantar fasciitis in my left heel, and thought this might be better than a bottle, I'll report back lol.
Great video! What size foam roller do you recommend? I bought one from Amazon, a 1-foot long roler, but I feel it is too short. I feel I should've bought a longer one. What size do you recommend?
I´ve read there are concerns because of the valves in your veins, they could get damaged if you roll on the foam roller away from your heart with high pressure. Do you agree with that?
I love foam rolling, but can hardly get enough pressure on the muscle. I have found having my 10 year old sit on my legs helps get that downward force required.
Would a foam roller help with leg cramping no medical issues my doctor said they’re just right I walk normal pace for 15 minutes I’m in agony and it can hurt for days. Also does anyone use one for sciatica something I developed during shielding in the uk we weren’t allowed out for exercise or anything other than to go to the hospital since April I’ve been in agony and medications make me physically sick. Has anyone found a benefit of foam rolling with sciatic pain
Try glute bridges, your own bodyweight will suffice. Squeeze and hold. I suggest this bc I have an issue with sciatica as well, and the GB has helped me. Fyi, I just bought a foam roller which lead me to this channel. Not sure how the foam roller helps with sciatica yet. Best of luck, I know how much of an impact sciatica has on one's life
Foam rollers are proven not to help with anything except making you temporarily feel a bit better. I use one because it feels good but it doesn't 'promote blood flow' and all that shite.
How often do you use your foam roller? Let us know!
I used yesterday and something crack on my lower part of back. And to day I feel really pain. It is okey?
I run 4 times a week and take two days off. On the off days, I use the foam roller.
When does foam rolling reap benefits, post-workout or pre-workout. Thanks.
After every run/gym session
@@krib1669 Consider foam rolling as a massage. Would you go for a massage for your training or after?
As warm-up, cooldown or stand-alone

I appreciate it
I changed the 69 to a 70…now I’m sad.
I've had my foam roller for nearly a year. Finally used it for the first time in a structured way thanks to your video. Thank you!

I agree. Interesting content, well presented, no useless fillers.

I suggest every 2nd day to the athletes that I'm coaching. Great piece of equipment to speed up recovery. 👍

It's not often that I'll react to a YT video. Really well put together. Great tutorial for me, a newbie. Thanks & greetings from the Netherlands.

A friend used something similar to the recovapro. According to his doctor, it was so powerful that it started tearing his muscles apart

This is great!! Thanks for this video
The devils creation

Can you guys do a real time Foam roller session?
Thank you, Heather. Just ordered one.

One should foam roll applying pressure towards the heart, so in the opposite order she’s explaining - first calves, thighs, hamstrings, glutes
How long do you suggest for each muscle group? Also, what Nitrogen bubbles? From where?
Nice video. Thanks.
Scientific proof or not this torture device has literally saved my hamstrings !
Is it advisable to use it before or after having a long run?
Awesome video
Lmfao i thought we were gonna paint and i kept wondering why the foam rollers weird looking

The trick is to be fat.
Or get a harder one, without the foam part; type Blackroll. Painful in the beginning, but well worth it in the end!
great video as always. :-)
3:30 starts
I've been "foam rolling" with my basketball.
That sounds... painful ! 😳
It lives in the garage, feeds on dead things and souls..... scary painful hurtful thing.
Have the exact same one lol
Omg what are the chances you also have the world's most popular foam roller?
@Savage Poet Fair enough poet!
How many inches is this foam roller?
It's not painful to me. I need more resistance instead, but i don't know how.

Always find rolling lower legs is harder than upper
What brand is this one ?
Trigger Point 👍
The popular one on amazon
How come mine isn't a foam? Mine is like hard plastic?
Time to buy a foam roller
Where do you not use a foam roller on your body??
Fit or what
Its not easy as it seems!!!
It hurts a lot!!!!🥴🤣🤣
Do not know if this works 3.00 mins into video and she's still talking , have to go 😆
@deanicuss less talk more showing
