Plus in the beginning of the movie were a trainee is scolded for leaving the door open, wich could "let in a child" said by mr.Waternoose himself. He says about them being toxic, but if not; then the missing child would alert the parents, causing searches for them, and the first place to look is the bedroom, then closet leading to the monster world. Next thing you know, the SCP foundation takes over and contains them and provents them from scaring, or more likely people killing them
@@nylajereb4523 I feel like that it’s unlikely that the monsters would go through that door after the kid shows up. In fact roz, knowing that humans might try to come through would probably shred the door long before any humans searched the closet. The monsters are told kids are toxic because the monsters are toxic to kids. If you believe in the Pixar Theory, then you know the monsters were made who they are because the radiation changed them into monsters, radiation that killed humans. The monsters became carriers of this radiation and so if they touched anything, the radiation would be carried and eventually destroy the human race, so the monsters would not exist. I would say the theory that the monsters don't want to change the timeline might be true, but for different reasons. I think the monsters shouldnt touch or change anything, because that would affect the past more than just some kid getting scared. It would also explain why sully was allowed to say goodbye, because at that point the damage was done.... she was going to remember sully anyway and no harm in both being happy about it. The reason for the "kids are toxic" myth would be the same background though, easier to understand that than timetravel stuff.
I don't think radiation works the way you think it does. (ref. Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride) Non-ionizing radiation is mostly harmless compared to ionizing radiation which can cause mutations. And then there's radioactive material which causes radiation poisoning, usually resulting in death if left untreated. I doubt the monsters are radioactive, maybe irradiated (exposed to radiation). i believe it's to keep people interested and alert because humans normally have short attention spans and being flooded with words can make it really easy to space out so the constant moving helps
Some bee species are aggro, like Africanized bees, but generally that is true. I figure that's probably because wasps don't wind up killing themselves if they sting, unlike bees.
I think that the children are said to be toxic because they don’t want the monsters to become attached to a human and keep it. It would create complete chaos in the monster world if a human was kept because the humans would become quite concerned if hundreds of children started going missing in the middle of the night so the humans would start searching for their kids and eventually discover the monster world. Just look at how much chaos it caused when one monster took a human, never mind hundreds of monsters taking children.
In this world, it's the kids that are the equivalent of these monsters' boogeyman. The monsters do not know what exactly humans are, they have little information to go on over humans, so what they don't know, they don't understand and are highly fearful of. I think the monsters' "CDC" health control was concerned about humans because like you said, they didn't want humans crossing over into their world on a permanent basis. They don't know how humans will take it if it becomes publicly known in the other world that monsters exist, or what kind of germs humans will come in with if they cross over too much. (Ain't that too poignant right now?) Waternoose kidnapped a child. So not only did he endanger the monsters by potentially exposing the world to foreign germs they wouldn't be able to reign in, but the "CDC" knew children have PARENTS. That the longer Boo stayed in the monster world, her parents will eventually start noticing something is wrong and start to come looking for her. They might discover something that shouldn't be discovered by accident. Sully begged to let Boo stay with him. But the "CDC" knew she couldn't stay in the monster world. Even though she was a kid, the longer she stayed, the more she would be able to finally talk about her experiences. Her parents would worry sick about her. The monster and human worlds needed to stay separated as much as possible.
Waternoose did believe human kids were toxic, hence the "What" when Mike told him they're not. And maybe monsters think humans were toxic because of the times of sickness, though I'm not sure if the time travel is really a thing, I just thought they were portals that connected the two worlds.
Wait, I thought the Monsters thought the humans and their stuff was toxic because of the Butterfly Effect, since they go back in time through the door, if they change anything in the past, the future they live in might not happen. They don't tell the scarers that because they don't want them knowing that they are time travelling at all, or else one might go back in time out of curiosity or to try and change the past/take over the world.
Except if that was true then they would only have to have one person scream then go back to that point in time again and again hence the time moves foward part
I say that the monsters may either be in an alternate universe, or a different planet, and they don't want humans destroying the world with their plagues or taking over the world.
Zozbie See, to me the butterfly effect never made any sense, because let's say I go back to stop 9/11, I would have already failed because in my timeline it already happened, meaning all the variations of me, past and future, are doomed to fail.
If you step back and look at time from a true point of view, the past has already happened so it can't be anything apart from was is already determined, this applies for the future as well.
Well the monsters are taught that humans are toxic, so they probably banish them to remote areas because they'll stay away from humans as much as possible on their own, therefore keeping the monster world as secure from discovery as they can.
Nuzgart He could take a piece of metal and maybe pick it up like how an elevator can lift it, so he could technically use it if he coated it in metal that he could manipulate.
No but in the comics he could but it's not magnetic and in the comics Loki just made a duplicate But Stormbreaker yes I would think but he would (Magneto) have to use a lot of power and concentration
This is just a random thought, but maybe the monsters can not touch children or anything that they have touched because it will make them like children, and if they like children they will become friends with them, and that would ruin their econemy.
It wouldn't necessarily have to be the bubonic plague - there were many, many horrible diseases around when electricity (which seems to be what the Monster world runs on) was discovered and harnessed. The Monsters just haven't worked out that Humans have cured a lot of those illnesses.
You don't even have to go that far back. I remember that when I grew up it was normal for grown-ups who didn't have kids themselves or worked with them to keep a bit of distance to us to not catch whatever went around that week.
Agreed. Also illnesses that may be mild or even symptomless in one species may be dangerous to another if it can be spread between species. As far as anyone can really tell, the Common Cold could be lethal to the monsters. Or more likely, some version of Flu. Children catch those sorts of illnesses alot and they are among the kinds of illnesses that can survive on non-living surfaces.

Diurty DanTV once I scared myself by inhaling too hard. So I fell. The sound of my back hitting my bed scared me again. I flinched away from it and faceplanted on the floor. It was pathetic.
What happens when time goes on so far in the monsters world that they can only travel back in time to when the humans were gone or later when monsters already existed?
In the words of Mr. Waternoose, "Without scream, we have no power!" Without access to children to harness screams or laughter from, they'd likely have to store up on what scream, or laughter, in the case of Monster's Inc., they had left and find an alternative power source.....And if these guys are mutated versions of us, who are anything like us.....such a process would likely be buried under carpets, trapped behind red tape or squashed out by the owners of the companies who harvested the screams or laughter until it was too little, too late.....
Assuming the monsters know this is happening, they might resort to kidnapping a bunch of kids and bringing them into their timeline. Picture a future MI film where there are human breading farms, and we are milked for screams like cows.
I think that the monsters thought humans were toxic because of real-life "time travel rules". I am not in any way certified to explain this, but I'll try. So basically if you somehow do go back in time, you are made of negative matter as long as you are in the past, because where the heck else would the matter you are made of come from? And if this negative matter comes in contact with its positive counterpart, then they both explode. because the monsters were once humans, i think a monster touched a human who's matter ended up being in that monster. And they exploded. Bam. Monsters didnt know why, so they think humans = toxic. Also i forget if its anti-matter or negative matter so don't quote me on that
yeah except the air, is also matter (or vice-versa), antimatter 'traveling' backwards in time is just a convention. Also, you don't become anti-matter when you have traveled back in time.
4:54 is so true. I am so scared of bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, etc. like why would you stay calm around a little flying this with a stinger like heck no I'm sprinting away from this monster. Like stupid bee I'm not a flower get away from me!
Live life to the Fullest don't bother the bee and the bee won't bother u whenever there's a bee my freinds starting going crazy and I'm just sitting there acting normal becuase it's not like the bee has any beef with u or dosnt wanna pick a fight and if u do get stung it's ur fault becuase either u pissed it off or u started to move so much u scared it and it thinks ur unsafe so it stings u and when it stings u the bees life is over u took it's life away that's just kinda sad so yeah just leave the bee alone it's not doing a drive by and stinging u but um hornets and wasps are a little more dangerous but just leave them alone too but if u see a bee on ur arm or something don't freak out just don't scare it or piss it off um but if a wasp or hornet landed on u ask for help but stay calm hornets will get really pissed wasps or a bit chiller but not as chill as bees um yeah that's just my thoughts
Live life to the Fullest to expand on Space Panda's point, bees are very unlikely to attack even if you scare them, also you shouting and screaming, to them, would be almost literally deafening, scaring them further. If you come across bees, wasps or anything, your best bet would be to move slowly and remain quiet. Following those steps, I've actually had a bee land on my hand without stinging me.
I assumed it was to protect the kid more. Keeps the monster from either bonding with the child, or for the more evil monsters, possibly hurting or killing a child.

StarchieBread The harry potter wizards can only transformate existing items/objects/etc into other items/objects/etc. Also there is a spell called accio that attracts a desired object to the caster (i think it needs to be near).
Pac Panic if it exists it exists I mean if it (it being the thing that you want) is somewhere in the world tecnecaly the spell would just be you copying it and teleporting it to you. and if you think this logic is wrong here's a different way of looking at it. say you want a wooden table or something. like you said you can't just make it out of thing air right. what do you need? wood. you get wood from trees. and trees come from seeds. so say you've gone and you already have a little wood but not enough. use a spell to make more of it. u then use a spell to make the table out of the wood. u already have nails cuz you melted metal. bam you have a table there REALLY is no need for currency.
Maybe they are taught that kids are dangerous because if the kids come into contact with a monster then later they won't be scared of them or it's probably one of those time travel things if they touch something from the kids it could mess up the future if something crosses that's why they tell them those things but that's my theroy
There's another theory (I think The Theorizer suggested it) that the reason all monsters are told that children are toxic is because it helped the CDA figure out who was part of Waternoose's scheme. Those who were involved knew that kids aren't toxic.
Or maybe, it was so the kids parents dont try to take the monsters and try to experiment on them, so to make sure that monsters dont intrude any further within the house they only stay in the childs room because if the child is toxic, Imagine the adults being more toxic, so they handle it different with kids.
Or maybe it was fear mongering to make sure that the monsters don't go completely nuts and harm or kill the child, because if they did such a thing, the toxicity would kill them.
Conspiracy theory: the monsters inc. monsters remembered Covid-19, and the covid somehow evolves into a bigger disease in their future. And what if perhaps that isn't too far off from _our_ reality.
Yash Shah Not all bees are nice. Africanized bees will follow you over 1/4 mile trying to sting you to death. They have even been known to kill horses. Killer bees are a very real threat.
4:29 also the adult scream power may be too strong, powerful, and have bad effects. Or even the adult might try to find a way to the monster world Causing the monsters to go extinct, attacking them if there injured!
The 100 year time travel idea doesn't make sense because in the movie Boo escapes and enters the monster world and doesn't return back to the human world until a day later. This idea wouldn't make sense because her parents would have definitely have noticed her missing, thus arousing suspicion of the monster world.
philbobish who says they didn't go crazy searching for her and such? I mean, if your kid went missing and showed up the next day, in her bed, why would you ever think "Oh maybe there's a big monster world that magically connects to ours from the closet." Maybe Boo would have told her parents about it, but she is very little and can only say a few words. And if she is the witch in Brave, that means she would remember a short day or two long adventure. So when she's older she could tell her parents about it. But the problem with that is that adults are very stuck in their beliefs and are very unimaginative. So it could have all just been a dream
It actually makes a LOT of sense if you think about it... If children are _toxic_ and dangerous creatures, then fewer people will question the ethics of using screams as an energy source.
I feel like if a kid touches and befriends a monster they become imaginary friends and will die when the kid grows up, so to prevent the extinction of the monsters they call kids toxic.
I've legit been near so many bees in my lifetime and I just watch them buzz around with their chubby little bodies going from flower to flower. And when I move, they legit give no fucks. They just continue happily flying from flower to flower. Usually with most living creatures, as long as you don't fuck with them, they won't fuck with you.
I always thought that the monsters believed since the kids are the source of their energy, touching a child would electrocute them but in a different way since they don't use electricity.

(Ain't that too poignant right now?)
Waternoose kidnapped a child.

What would happen if you were in your closet when they activated the door?
I think it wouldn't activate. So it would have like a system error.

Zozbie YES THIS IS WHAT I THOUGHT
Zozbie interesting idea.... I just wonder how the exiled monsters fit into all of this
Except if that was true then they would only have to have one person scream then go back to that point in time again and again hence the time moves foward part
I think the bubonic plague theory holds a lot of weight. However, I think there's another dimension (
Out * gasps* of *gasps again* breath *gasps for air 6 times*
only problem is that the future is set in stone and nothing anyone can do with time travel changes it
banished monsters to remote areas you say *cough* area 51 *cough*
If you step back and look at time from a true point of view, the past has already happened so it can't be anything apart from was is already determined, this applies for the future as well.
Well the monsters are taught that humans are toxic, so they probably banish them to remote areas because they'll stay away from humans as much as possible on their own, therefore keeping the monster world as secure from discovery as they can.

Could Magneto lift Thor's hammer?
Help, please.
no Thors hammer is not magnetic
Its not metal so no he can't
He could lift the metal infrastructure of the building it's on, though...
Nuzgart He could take a piece of metal and maybe pick it up like how an elevator can lift it, so he could technically use it if he coated it in metal that he could manipulate.
No but in the comics he could but it's not magnetic and in the comics Loki just made a duplicate
But Stormbreaker yes I would think but he would (Magneto) have to use a lot of power and concentration

“Kids are not toxic.”

Monsters scare children for the same reason PennyWise does. Their fears are more simplistic, thus they are easier.
Humans know they have a secret weapon for the monster

Oof
You're now dead.
They do not want to mess up the timeline
I sleep on the floor.

Ahhhhh (Not to be rude or anything...) ....How poor are you?
I think that the monsters thought humans were toxic because of real-life "time travel rules". I am not in any way certified to explain this, but I'll try. So basically if you somehow do go back in time, you are made of negative matter as long as you are in the past, because where the heck else would the matter you are made of come from? And if this negative matter comes in contact with its positive counterpart, then they both explode. because the monsters were once humans, i think a monster touched a human who's matter ended up being in that monster. And they exploded. Bam. Monsters didnt know why, so they think humans = toxic.
Also i forget if its anti-matter or negative matter so don't quote me on that
It's anti-matter, but this is still a cool theory.
Yeah but if exotic matter touches both at the same time they IMPLODE
yeah except the air, is also matter (or vice-versa), antimatter 'traveling' backwards in time is just a convention. Also, you don't become anti-matter when you have traveled back in time.

I wonder if monsters ever got sad when the children they went to scare died...
Well tbh you can get a heart attack from getting frightened too hard so. They could've accidently killed them themselves :/
4:54 is so true. I am so scared of bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, etc. like why would you stay calm around a little flying this with a stinger like heck no I'm sprinting away from this monster. Like stupid bee I'm not a flower get away from me!
Live life to the Fullest i never got stung i dont run from bees im not afraid they only sting if u move eradically
Live life to the Fullest a
>Live life to the Fullest
>Scared of bees
Live life to the Fullest to expand on Space Panda's point, bees are very unlikely to attack even if you scare them, also you shouting and screaming, to them, would be almost literally deafening, scaring them further. If you come across bees, wasps or anything, your best bet would be to move slowly and remain quiet. Following those steps, I've actually had a bee land on my hand without stinging me.
I assumed it was to protect the kid more. Keeps the monster from either bonding with the child, or for the more evil monsters, possibly hurting or killing a child.

Here's a theory: why do the wizards in Harry Potter even bother with currency if they can summon almost anything by magic?
StarchieBread They can't create things out of thin air. It has to exist.
StarchieBread The harry potter wizards can only transformate existing items/objects/etc into other items/objects/etc. Also there is a spell called accio that attracts a desired object to the caster (i think it needs to be near).
+Francisco Morais near is a relative word. For example in the goblet of fire harry says accio Firebolt. It seems that was pretty far away.
Paul Duncan ok, so let's say wizards can "accio" something in the caster's field of view. ;)
Pac Panic if it exists it exists I mean if it (it being the thing that you want) is somewhere in the world tecnecaly the spell would just be you copying it and teleporting it to you.
and if you think this logic is wrong here's a different way of looking at it.
say you want a wooden table or something. like you said you can't just make it out of thing air right. what do you need? wood. you get wood from trees. and trees come from seeds. so say you've gone and you already have a little wood but not enough. use a spell to make more of it. u then use a spell to make the table out of the wood. u already have nails cuz you melted metal. bam you have a table
there REALLY is no need for currency.
Maybe they are taught that kids are dangerous because if the kids come into contact with a monster then later they won't be scared of them or it's probably one of those time travel things if they touch something from the kids it could mess up the future if something crosses that's why they tell them those things but that's my theroy
Who is Carl from Ups monster?

There's another theory (I think The Theorizer suggested it) that the reason all monsters are told that children are toxic is because it helped the CDA figure out who was part of Waternoose's scheme. Those who were involved knew that kids aren't toxic.
I was sitting on my bed when you said "floor is lava".
Easiest game ever.
*bed
is no one going to mention the "slotherin" pillow? 😂
Or maybe, it was so the kids parents dont try to take the monsters and try to experiment on them, so to make sure that monsters dont intrude any further within the house they only stay in the childs room because if the child is toxic, Imagine the adults being more toxic, so they handle it different with kids.
Or maybe it was fear mongering to make sure that the monsters don't go completely nuts and harm or kill the child, because if they did such a thing, the toxicity would kill them.
leE7 G4M3r ok that can be true aswell.
But that's just a theory, a FILM THEORY... Wait, wrong channel :P
Lol, I noticed that instantly.
Conspiracy theory: the monsters inc. monsters remembered Covid-19, and the covid somehow evolves into a bigger disease in their future. And what if perhaps that isn't too far off from _our_ reality.
Not bees, bees are nice. Wasps, however, are a different story.
Yash Shah yep

Yuumiskii that was awesome. You are awesome

Yuumiskii Ok random person no one knows. thanks for telling us this random bit of information that no one wanted to know.
Did anybody notice the slotherin pillow in the background
I feel like if a kid touches and befriends a monster they become imaginary friends and will die when the kid grows up, so to prevent the extinction of the monsters they call kids toxic.
Bees are innocent and they die if they sting you so they dont want to do that and now their endangered
amber abdelfattah
wasps however, they're evil
Makayla Serniotti that's what I was thinking
bees aren't endangered
I've legit been near so many bees in my lifetime and I just watch them buzz around with their chubby little bodies going from flower to flower. And when I move, they legit give no fucks. They just continue happily flying from flower to flower. Usually with most living creatures, as long as you don't fuck with them, they won't fuck with you.
Ender Craft - Minecraft, Mods & More! Actually in America the honey bee is officially endangered
I always thought that the monsters believed since the kids are the source of their energy, touching a child would electrocute them but in a different way since they don't use electricity.
