Wow, I noticed how LOOOOOONG your hair is (beautiful). I had noticed that the Philippina here in the states have longer hair than there in the PI (you being an exception). Asked about this and was told that they cut the hair short there because its HOT (like you, lol). Any truth to this? Input?
I also heard that Boy (BOI) is a common name in the Philippines due the WWII as well due to troops calling young ones Boy and it becoming a Name. I used to have an older friend (he was in 70's) called Boi and it was a fun thing to call him "Hey Boy". :)

Now I have a relationship with a new Filipina who by way of family member. Long story short can I ever marry her in the Philippines? I never thought of "Hey Joe" as anything bad... May be it's because I served in the US Navy and Coast Guard. That greeting is cool, and to me conveys friendship, respect, and kindness. People that get upset don't know their history, and/or need to lighten up! 😉❤️
Thanx for doing that for the Animals. I recently adopted a kitty who is only 7-8 months old and she was living inside an abandoned truck with her 5 babies…. She was just a baby herself. She now sleeps safely by my feet at night. God Bless you Pea ❤️🙏🏻

Whenever I was called Joe in the Philippines, tome it always felt like a compliment. Started many good conversations by saying hi back and stopping to talk a bit. I kind of like that!

I always tell my name and let them know that I am Canadian not American.
When Pea said that, I was thinking about what a complement that is. My uncle is buried there and I have to wonder if that's how he was greeted by the Filipinos he fought alongside.
Excellent, great job on this one Pea. People are gonna love it. I saved a kitten from a flash flood and Tornado. It was about 2 years ago while working in North Dakota. The house was shaking so I looked out the window. In the floodwater running though the yard I saw something moving. Iran outside in my underwear and jumped in the water. I puled her out just before she went into the abyss. She was so tiny and to show her gratitude, she gave me 5 kittens 12 weeks later. Best part of the story, after she weened the kits, she packed her bags, AND DUMPED ME, lol. Wow, am I that hard to live with? hummmm. On her behalf, I have to say. She left me with the most beautiful litter of kittens I have ever seen. I kept 2 and the other 3 went to great families.

Here is my culture shock. Roosters never sleep, Karaoke so loud my windows vibrate, dogs constant barking, dirty smoke from burning rubbish, scooters driving on the sidewalk, and when you ask where something is, filipinos answer THERE. LOL! and last but not least filipino time.
You’re so right about the feminine pads. My Filipina wife is almost 40 and she still won’t use tampons. She thinks only prostitutes use tampons, CRAZY!!! 😜
There are certain ‘institutions’ that are purposely putting out ridiculous rumors regarding these types of things. I wonder who that could be? 😂

You have such a good heart, always helping people and the animals. Watching so many animals in the street that are in poor health and starving is one of the hardest things for me to see when I visit there in the Philippines. I bought some snacks to toss to the hungry dogs when I saw them as I walked around, and was surprised to see that every time they ran away. I guess they are used to people throwing stones, not food, it breaks my heart.
To be honest, people are often not very kind to animals here 😔

Every culture has different ways of showing respect but I really enjoyed the way it’s done in the Philippines even though after all these years I still don’t have it all figured out. I remember walking down the street in Caviti City and people would say Hi Joe. Took me a little while to connect the dots and realize it was GI Joe. I actually liked being called that. The packaging requires a person to think small. Only buy what you need. Good luck with your cat. For a girl small in size you have a really big heart. Nice video as always.

The strangest custom is boyfriends expecting their Filipinas to dress to the nine yards, and themselves dressing like the homeless.Looking to their their Filipina to spend all their money on clothes and makeup, while they drink their cash away with their freinds.Makes it easy for us Foreigners to score their ladies from them.
That actually sound the norm... the homeless part. Every traveler usually tells us to not dress so flashes. Especially traveling out if the U.S. cus its dangerous....That's a fun fact to look up.
My experience on the Philippine side alot of women feel and think looking more white, make up and well dressed. Helps them find a mate and adds status. Most of Asia as well.
The pea did a view where they have a whiten machine. Also for arm pits.
Is that a custom? That is strange for sure. To me it makes more sense for a couple to dress to a similar standard.
@@wardcummins8736 Not according to FilipinaPea, and I am not sure I think it is the only reason either, though I do agree that it often plays a factor. Other factors I have heard would be scoring because they are "faithful", "white", with big nose, different or exotic to a Filipino, has more experience, spiritual and religious reasons can also play a factor, social status and the media.
But yes in most relationships I think it is about money or sex, but that is not just with Filipino's that is with relationships pretty much everywhere.
do not generalized Filipino men only the women who are financially desperate hook up with an old foreigners

The small packets in the larger packets helps keep food fresh when it is hot, and not able to be stored in a cool place. But it does contribute a lot to the litter problem. There is room for improvement in cutting down the amount of packaging, like you mentioned the takeaway food is one example.

A Top Cat taking care of Kittens! You do have a kind heart. I remember giving out some bottles of shampoo when I returned on one of my visits. My friends look at it like gold. Oh, and Big bars of Dove soap were winners too. Who would know?
Nothing gives me a better indication of how good a person is than animals loving them. You have many good qualities Pea, but this might be the one I like best. You look like you have lost weigh, don't get too skinny.

Haha. The aspirin thing is so true. I'm used to buying ibuprofen in bottles of 500. I go to the pharmacy and they are individual, so I get 20. My filipina wife thinks I'm crazy because I got so many. She would have only gotten enough for this headache. She even buys oil in a little bag that just enough for one meal.

You may consider lunch as a way to achieve some of your goals. It's not unusual, here in the States, to raise money for charitable causes by auctioning your time at lunch. If you have 6 kittens to find homes for, shouldn't lunch with you be considered? I know there are families that would adopt a feline, if you had lunch or coffee with them. For larger donations to your chosen charities, maybe consider dinner. You choose the restaurant, they pay the tab and donate a set amount. You have the personality for it, just imagine if you could raise several hundred dollars for groceries for hungry kids. Coffee with Pea and friends, lunch with Pea and her chaperone for $100 USD, "if you think about it".
Fortunately my first name actually is Joe. Very few things do more to improve your attitude than having friendly strangers greet you by name every time you leave the house.

Some of those do seem like good ideas. In the west, we buy large bags of cookies and chips. Once the large bag is open keeping them fresh for days could be a challenge. Small bags in big bag keeps all them fresh until your ready to eat. I like Ate, Kuay Lalo, Po, etc.; at least I do not have to remember many names (hehe). Lot of good advice, like the buffet closing and removing food early being served. Iring looks happy

My fiance is Pinay,. She comes from the provinces. She is from a family of witches. They are actually natural healers who have practiced herbal medicines for centuries. Yes they are also traditional Catholics ! Maybe western healers could learn alot from them

In every third world country where real medicine does not exist there is always a “healer” in the village. When I was in the mountains of Afghanistan my interpreter spent a months salary to buy a potion from the imam made from deer sperm for his brother in the ICU. These secrets to healing have been handed down for thousands of years…but It also didn’t work.

Pea, I heard that they also play mahjong at wakes. I've got both Asian and American mahjong sets at home. I first became interested in the game when I saw the Hong Kong comedy film "Kung Fu Mahjong". It's on par with no-limit Texas Hold 'em Poker in the televised tournament industry.
Regarding your nurse outro skit, you should do a video about the worldwide demand for Filipino nurses. I was hit with bacterial meningitis and covid in a span of less than three years and both times in the the hospital, I was tended to by Filipina nurses. They really are the best!

Always great to get these helpful updates. I can't imagine why being called Joe would bother you I'd just think it was nice of someone to say hello. On the name topic my firm had a call centre in the Philippines and there were certainly a couple of people there called Princess but the one that made me laugh was one who was a second child and was called Secondly.
Ha!! Those are good ones. 😁👍 I remembered some of them from my time living there. I live in the country near a lot of farms. Feel bad for the stray cats trying to survive especially during the winter. I try to leave food and water out for them during the daytime. Life is hard.

Some Filipinas will not take a shower also when sick. Not being able to determine age is a plus for Asian ladies. However, here in the states I've heard several Filipinos comment that they have trouble telling some of the Latin Americans from Filipinos.

A "fun sized" cat lady...😆...One of my nurses at my dialysis center has two kitties at home.
"Fun sized ones" is my term for any lady who is 5 ft 5 or smaller...But maybe me being 6 ft 5 I might be a bit on the tall side.

The hardest thing to get used to is the Philippine woman's sense of time. A few minutes can be up to a half hour. A while can be 2 to 4 hours. Just be patient and learn to wait.
'A while' use to drive me crazy. I learned to ask more clarifying questions.
The flakey ones that made me wait for hours would get bent over upon arrival at the hotel room 😎
