    Your past many videos have been dead on. DEAD ON. A perfect series of all the tips from amateurs through to scratch golfers. And in a perfect order of videos... An exceptional channel.

    Excellent video Russell on starting the downswing correctly! I definitely like your use of the alignment stick to help in "covering the ball" in the swing. This move will definitely help in avoiding "hanging back" in the swing. Good job Russell! Keep up the good work!

    Yes good learning tips for the relationship of hip angles...which led me to the feelings through impact of right side bend, shoulder tilt following the correct hip rotation

    For me I have since learned that the key to my keeping the pelvis (belt buckle) downward facing in the downswing is the weight shift onto the lead foot as you start the downswing. This weight shift onto the lead foot is done by lifting the rear foot at the same time as you start the downswing from the top so that at impact 100% of the weight is onto the lead foot and the rear foot is barely touching the ground with zero per cent weight on it. Scottie Scheffler exemplifies this move perfectly by drawing back (sliding) his rear foot back and target wards to ensure all the weight is on the front foot at impact that allows the pelvis to continue pointing downwards in the downswing. This move really promotes consistency of solid contact.

    Great video - exactly what I need. In my endeavour to get to my lead side I have thrusted my left hip targetwards and as such stood up thereby creating a steep downswing and not much power. Thank you!

    The secret to my better downswing beyond a shadow of doubt is how my pelvis moves throughout the swing. This video has helped my more than any video on how the pelvis should move throughout the swing in a downward facing symmetrical manner. . The video is a classic and well worth watching over and over. If you can master this move, it will a cure a host of common problems for any learner.

    How do I get extension on the follow through with my hips down?

  • @JeffreySaxophoneTallNewton

    Excellent video as usual! I thought that the hips had to "fire first" in the downswing, with the upper body (and arms) lagging behind... No?

    Is this for iron’s only? Don’t you need extension with the driver?

    Basically, don't move your hips and hands towards the ball on the transition.

    • @pohoresky
      @pohoresky Год назад

      Not sure I understand your comment. The purpose of the transition is to move from the top of the backswing to the delivery position. In so doing, if correctly performed, the hands will have moved down (not out) and the hips will have rotated to parallel to target line from the top.

      @@pohoresky People tend to move their hands and hips closer to the ball when they start the downswing. My point is, keep the hands close to the thighs and let the club head momentum do the work.
