    I have about 15 golf teachers saved on my RUclips. Most are good and I pick up a little here and there. I found yours last Sunday. I can't get enough, obsessed with your material. I do a lot of mirror, video etc of my swing. My ball stricking in less than a week has improved! Your information for whatever reason just clicks and makes more sense of a difficult game. I've been playing since 1986, 64 now and I think I've learned more on RUclips in a year than all the other years waiting for a new lesson in golf digest or golf magazine that fit my issue. Lol I would devour books, golf my way, Greg Norman series with Butch Har

    I watched you break this down in another video, it genuinely was a lightbulb moment. I took it to the change and was hitting pure consistent shots. Hit draws properly for the first time since I started! Sometimes it just takes someone to explain it in a way you can personally understand. Many had tried, but it was only you that made it through this thick noggin. Cheers lad.

    Chris, this one really is mind blowing. I'd say useful knowledge for all, but particularly for good players to catch a light bulb moment. I found this searching hand path videos. I'm in the camp of trying to get my hands as close to my body and exit left on the downswing with mixed results. The forearm rotation moving the hands out is what I needed to see for that extra room. You can really see it in DJ's swing. Now every swing I see I'm seeing the arms move exactly like you showed in the drill. Really good video dude..

    Wow I watch a lot of instruction and this is the first time I have seen this lesson. I have always struggled to get a bow in my wrist and get compression without pulling the ball off the planet but now it is much easier. My right arm is unstuck and I now have so much room to deliver the club. I know this is going greatly improve my consistency. I just subscribed. Thanks!!!

    Love the recent videos you’ve been doing about forearm rotation. I basically tried to fight this for years until recently and struggled because of it. Swing feels much more on plane when I let them rotate more freely. Keep up the great content, thanks!

    I had been working on this after the video you did with Tom because while I wasn't steep wit the club shaft my hand path was a bit steep and got the club a bit too far outside. This really did the trick. The one big thing is having to now adjust my release pattern or it is hosel city, but when I get the grip moving up and left in the middle of the club every time.

    From down the line, I just watched a slow motion video of Tiger Woods hitting an iron shot.
    From his set up to just before contact when his golf club is parallel to the ground, his hands did in fact move quite a distance away from his body.
    GREAT video, Chris!!!

    This really resonates. I recently clicked that I naturally try to get to ball impact with an early release, but your coaching here also shows how my aim tends to be that I want to swing straight ahead instead of releasing and "coming around". (I assume we tend to think that will create a pull?)

    Nice lesson. Part of the problem in doing this full speed with amateurs is we move the hands too deep before moving handle to left thigh. What your brain thinks you are doing and what the body is doing are two different things. The only way I was able to fix this was to video tape myself until I got it right. I told my brain make the move earlier. The video showed I was doing the handle movement correctly with this thought change even though in my mind it didn't seem like it. It's all about timing.

    • @apaulmcdonough2170
      @apaulmcdonough2170 2 месяца назад

      The best way to ingrain a "new motion" is very slow repetition.
      Start by trying to hit 25 Yard - 6 Iron shots. Once you find repeated success, then add 10 more yards for a few Swings.
      Gradually add Speed with each 10 Yard Increase.
      Don't Increase to the next 10 Yards until you have hit 3 or 4 "good shots".
      Keep working up in 10 Yard Increments until you get to your own "Full Speed".

    I understand this conceptually, but believe I have brought my hands “in” so that I prevent throwing the club over the top and casting. Would what I’m doing then be an over correction to get shallow?

      The early part of the downswing will be fairly unique for everyone, but the hands don’t have to move out initially, they can move almost vertically down and you can still hit this ideal position

  • @lendzubow
    @lendzubow 24 дня назад

    Many prior videos from a variety of online instructors stress how the hands go in on the takeaway, almost brushing the right hip- "hands in, club out". This is a different model- was the prior approach incorrect?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  24 дня назад

      Hey, no not incorrect at all, this is referencing more of the delivery position coming into impact, if the other instruction you reference was the takeaway then these will be very different

    Seems a very complicated analysis. Surely this will happen naturally during the downswing since it would be impossible to maintain the angle between arms and golf golf club at adress, when you swing it at 80mph. Your arms will automatically raise due to centrifugal force.??
