Watching this video as a 54 year old man who is just about to retire, I saw my young self. You sounded just like me 30 years ago.
Having now watched hundreds of pressure washing videos I am going to bite the bullet and open my own business to supplement my pension and other investments. Luckily, my entry will not be as big a gamble as yours, but I am still really excited.
Thanks for ALL of your videos. They are inspirational, informative and entertaining.
Good luck with your goals and aspirations.
Who needs the podcasts mate that was motivational enough 👌
My husband has been in engineering for over 30 years, since he was in his mid teens. He's so miserable with his day job and is desperate to do something for himself that makes him happy. He's an absolute wizard with metal but the treatment he's received from employers over the last decade or so has beaten the appeal out of him.
He recently pressure washed a friend's front yard to help out with their Airbnb and I was shocked how good it looked, so myself and our friend mentioned that he should start his own business.
He's definitely motivated and committed to doing a fantastic job and he's always been that way; the problem is getting him to take the first step because it's such a big deal, especially as he's always worked for someone else - as you said, making little money to feed someone else's dream.
I'm basically doing the research for him behind his back while he's working, hoping to find the perfect video/information that may inspire him to 'jump in' and give it a try.
Thanks, this video is gold! I wish you and your family the best of luck, health and happiness.
Very motivational and I took a lot from your video. Only recently started out pressure washing on the side and I'm doing just what you mentioned. I'm still in my current job but working towards the end goal. I have made sacrifices like you talked about and got rid of my beloved new car that I've literally had for a year on finance throwing money away and I'm investing my time into setting up my new venture for the new year. You have inspired me and I've only just started out on my journey. Thanks for your videos I follow you and a big fan of your work and what you do I literally can relate to you because what you have been through to start up is where I'm at and I've only just seen your video so it resonates with me.
Thank you for this. I came for pressure washing tips but got much more.
Mate the way you put these vids together with the information and knowledge is perfect for someone in a similar position to how you was with a similar mindset..so thank you sir..✌💙
This is super nice, thanks so much. The exact reason I'm doing these videos 🫶
@@SMOUT_ they are really well put together mate..very much appreciated
Honestly the beginning of this video is exactly me. It’s scary.
fantastic videos mate. Your talk about yourself at the start of this really rang home, we have a very similar mindset. I have been thinking about a jet-washing business to supplement my full-time work while I save up for a mortgage. thanks for the videos, really helpful. keep it up!
Thanks brother fr Oklahoma across the pond
Fair play mate takes a lot of courage to go on your own
Good luck. Hope you do well on your new adventure.
Well done and your family should be proud of you.
Thank you! Very inspirational 👏 🙌
Great video this mate. Very insightful 👌.
Stumbled upon this channel, great advice there 👍
Mate! I watch your videos all the time, but this one hit home on a few points. Mainly the point you made about having ideas and creative thoughts.
I'm confident that most people couldn't last 5 minutes inside my head. It's like a continuous explosion with unlimited fuel 24/7 about business/product/service ideas but ive never pulled the trigger.
Your knowledge and positive attitude are very inspiring to me. Keep it up!
Joe
Fantastic informative video thank you, I've just gone self employed window cleaning and like you I'm looking forward to the journey.
Just bought The Entrepreneur Rollercoaster 👍
Hi what cemical do I use for black spot, thanks for sharing your knowledge
You have inspired me, Thankyou for this video
Love this channel. I'm in a 'professional' job that many grow up wanting to do. On paper I earn 46k per year which sounds great but contribute a hefty pension. I work an hour from home so have a 2hr commute which regularly means 11-12hr days with all this taken into account and broken down to an hourly wage I'm on not much more than minimum wage. Really considering if its all worth it. Keep up the great content. 👍
Thanks Ryan, I think many could break it down similarly with most jobs and find they're actually earning a lot less. It really comes down to happiness and fulfillment
@@SMOUT_ seems we like the same books too, my all time favourite is Black Box Thinking by Matthew Syed. Give it a try 👍
Okay, you've been podcasting for 3 years and are very new to pressure washing!
Brilliant video mate! In same situation now. Plan to quit the day job this year 👍
Excellent video bro, I've invested in over 25 self help books and some ancient civilization ones lol. Currently recovering after working nearly 250hrs in 3 weeks mate before Christmas.. Will be looking for a van soon
Awesome good to hear. Where you from?
@@SMOUT_ South Wales mate, see so many unkept exteriors wherever I go.
When you said you didn't take any wages/profit for the first year? Do you mean you still worked your regular job and then pressure washed part time until the pressure washing made enough for you to go at it alone?
Yes mate that's it 👍
Got a GX390 21ltr/min, Hotbox steamer, 20" surface cleaner, 3 Lance's one with turbo nozzle. And 2016 Renault Traffic van mate, business account and still working my day job £800/wk min after tax) why am I so scared to take the plunge? Advice?
some great and valuable knowledge and information which has definitely helped me with me journey to become self employed and creating a good mindset. id pay you to have a days work with you honestly aha. if you ever need a helping hand on a weekend or even a week day id be honoured for the opportunity. would be great to just see how you go about things and have a chat!
Thanks mate that's really nice of you, glad you're finding value.
Where are you based?
@@SMOUT_ definitely mate, some good info. And I’m based in the East Midlands Derby 👍🏼
Awesome I'll keep that in mind if I ever need a hand 👍
@@SMOUT_ any time mate👍🏼
Hi Jake - your videos are great. I'm retired now but am currently helping my son to start his pressure washing journey. Plan is to invest in equipment, training, knowledge and 'practice' on friends and family with a view to starting March/April 2025. On a personal note have you started investing yet? One piece of advice I would give to every young person is to invest in a global equity tracker fund, every month over the long term. Just a small amount every month, year after year after year. You spoke about the power of compounding in the video and that's exactly what that does. If you're interested I can recommend some youtube content to watch. Good luck with your continuing journey.
Love this video. Mindset is everything and listening to people smarter than you is the smartest thing you can do. 😁
I'm in the process of starting up my pressure washing business now but have listened to podcasts for years. RUclips Ed Mylett, he's my go to guy for mind power. 😁 appreciate the videos 👌
Thanks Paul I appreciate the kind words, I'll have a look
