Been thinking about starting this for a while. But anxiety has held me back for a year or 2 now. I finally got myself a van and started looking into the right pressure washer to get and water tank etc for the van. Hopefully soon be on my way to starting up properly. You talking about your anxiety has helped my mindset abit since I found your videos while looking for a good van set up on RUclips. Have a son myself I'm trying to set it up to give him a better future. Been in and out of work for years. Including investing into my hgv licence, which I thought was my dream job for a long time... Thanks for the motivation 👌 would love to have a mentor like you.
Thankyou for this video! My husband has just started a steam weeding and surface cleaning business and we're in the phase of trying to advertise and get some jobs. It's a scary but exciting time. We spend our evenings watching your videos and getting tips. We love watching your progress. You have a great work ethic! We wish you all the best.
I’m on the flip side of the coin. Planning to start up driveway’s & patio’s part time while I work full time to pay the bills, then hopefully build up enough to go full time rather than go “all or nothing”... my bills heavily outweigh anything I could bring in by going self employed from the start. I have a small savings pot that would be my own personal investment that I’m willing to write off to get kitted up with a small van and build things up slowly.
Hi Sammy, no one knows what you're capable of better than you so trust your own judgement (: Me personally if im not all in on something I lack motivation really quickly and it'll just fizzle out. So if I only had half a foot in this business it would never of worked out for me. something would always get in the way.. too tired, works stressing me out etc. But that's just me, good luck mate i wish you all the best.
Thanks Sid , some great advice I was just about to give up on my business on pvc cleaning, and gutter cleaning, but i am going to take on board your advice, keep you posted. Rob N.Ireland.
Well done Sid, love your honesty and thanks so much for the advice. I regularly watch your videos for advice along with three or four others. I have just completed my first year pressure washing, gutter and window cleaning and have to say, if it was not for you and the other lads I would not have been able to do what I have done so far so thank you. So nice to see young people like yourself working so hard to build up a business

Cheers Justin, I always say im sick of the fake persona's and lies people tell others to seem inspirational, better to be real and speak from experience in my book
Great tips. As an oldie Social Media is difficult - everything I look at is just me, me, me. Getting images and promoting yourself as an experienced professional is tricky. It's something I need to learn as an addition to canvassing and website.
Yeah definitely mate, I always suggest for people who have no idea to get a family member to help out and show the ropes, once its together and done all you need to remind yourself to do is take a lot of pictures at work and just upload them onto your page. If you have a smart phone its a lot simpler. The instagram page i linked in the top comment is a veteran self employed gardener who has mastered the social media aspect, his pictures are wicked and I always thought he was about my age but hes over twice my age i think. @fgm_f20 If you need any help with anything though mate just give me a shout and i'll give you a hand. confusing at first but once youve got it its easy.
@@PartridgeExteriorCleaning Cheers mate, unfortunately I am the person the family go to for IT stuff!!! None of them are into Social Media - no kids. I will have a look at the Instagram link. A valid tip for anyone wanting to start with water fed pole.. 1, when you decide upon a budget, double it 2, you'll need to be able to problem solve, with basic plumbing and electronics 3, advertising and branding will make you stand out 4, if you are using your family car with your standard insurance it will be invalid for work use 5, window cleaning is bloody hard work and not everyone can do it 6, social media and algorithms are not the basis of a business. Great informative video sid. Will keep at it and hopefully I will generate more work. Only been running this business through the first lockdown so early days but got all the gear.
