Ironically enough, I do agree with a lot of what you say in the video (about focusing on your strengths, not following your passions etc) but I disagree with the overall message, which is not to start a business to be rich. While I am not yet a millionaire, skipping college and starting a business in my early twenties allowed me to make hundreds of thousands of dollars by the time I was 25 (in the pandemic nonetheless), and starting it and making it profitable wasn't as extremely difficult as you made it out to be, as it was more about planning ahead and being at the right place at the right time (which I made sure would happen by diversifying a lot). What matters more is starting a business in an area you're good at, and being consistent in your overall approach, whichever that may be. I simply managed to get good at speculating what would would work and what wouldn't after 3 failed business attempts in the span of 5 years before I got to the one that worked, and got very good at being patient.
@@karlwithak. while I do agree that the video has information, 8 successful businesses in 5 years does sound like a bit of bs tbh. And I'm saying this as a young successful business owner myself, there is plenty that can go wrong in the first year, let alone the first 3. Idk where you've been doing business or if you're trying to sell some course, but capitalism is ruthless and a dog eat dog game more often than not, far from easy
Well, you can sometimes have upper hand when procrastinate on purpose and make sure that other party is aware it is on purpose. This is not effective when normal business is in question. This goes when you have dispute with other party. They won't leave early because they want to rub your nose for being late when actually YOU are deciding when talk begins.
6:28 "And the truth is, in the game of life and the game of money, social capital is worth more than actual capital." -- so true. That's one of the reasons we hear of these people that lose everything, go into bankruptcy, and then a few years later, they're back on top.
Another reason why we hear about those that lose everything and then back on top again is due to vivid-misweighing tendency; we simply remember better the stories of losing it and then rebounding. Great stories. The reality is they most likely learned how not to do it and so became more skilful the 2nd time. Another reality- if you lose it, chances are most of your 'social capital' will deem you too high risk to engage with, and correctly so.
There is one ethnicity that never lose, or they never allow one of their tribesman to lose, thanks to millenia old practice of tribalism and nepotism. Thats social capital and social privilidge they are born into and it never fails so if you cant achieve that merely by being born into one of these networks, then you have to have top notch catering to egosskills
I like the point of what you said about the true meaning of job, and I totally agree that it isn't about making money, is about acquiring skills, experience and slowly get better at it; and one day you may find some issues in the industry that you've been working on, that need to be tackled, and with the experience that you have, you will have a clear idea of where the business that you about to create, would go, and increase the chances of your business's sustainability. Plus, jobs also shows how you do your tasks even as small as sorting out some paperwork, from that you can learn more about yourself, and see how you can get better at it, and reduce the chances of making plenty of errors when you try to start your own business. Cuz, How you do little things, is how you do everything.
Well I feel good after watching this, I've owned my own business for over 5 years, and all i did was invest just over $1000 and have been able to support my lifestyle, through all the time ❤❤❤
Bravo - as someone who is career successful, it’s nice to see someone break down how to gain career success in a realistic fashion. And everything you said was solid. There are way too many RUclipsrs who’ve never done shit in a career sense trying to tell everyone to go out on their own.
I flipped houses for a business (3 houses) didn't pay attention to taxes and fees till the last house. First page 13 grand gone to taxes and fees so I gave up after that. It was a good learning experience because I always learn the hard way.
Yeah, the taxes and fees can really be a swift kick in the nuts. But I would say you've paid that tuition, so keep going. You're unlikely to make the same mistake again, which only increases your likelihood of success overall.
Great video, I am 17 and looking into different ways I can build wealth, I feel that I have decent capabilities in social media space(RUclips and TikTok) and teaching things to people. But will definitely take your advice to ask friends and family
He did say rich not wealthy. So do what you want with that but the only way the 99% can free themselves is opening a business and not slaving a job. The game monopoly came out the same time 1933 banking act was passed and forced Americans to turn their gold in for federal reserve notes. If you open a business you open yourself up to numerous tax loopholes that working a job won’t. The key is to pay as less taxes you can. 🔑
Well if 99% of people own a business, who'll be working? Similar to how a group of 30 people doesn't need 30 leaders, but instead 1 good leader, 100 people don't need 100 business owner, but 1 good one. The solution isn't that everyone owns a business and nobody works for other people anymore, everything is gonna be a 1 man show, which isn't very efficient. A better solution would be getting rid of the tax loopholes and holding the corrupt people as accountable as everyone else
Been looking into it and came to same conclusion ... depending on circumstances obviously. If you have a job you could try starting your own business on the side and grow it over a longer period of time. However if you do not have that luxury, starting a business takes too long to reach a point where it's profitable AND you can pay yourself a living wage - best buy an existing business. It's more expensive, but faster, and your living wage is already there. Up to you to then grow it, expand, or start something else on the side.
Closing on my first business acquisition this month. Been searching for nearly two years with equity partners. Despite your feedback about going into an industry you’re familiar with, I’m not doing that. I’ve worked as a consultant in the tech industry and to help with the transition, I have a mentor who came from a similar background and operates a successful company in the industry I’ve bought into. Time to grind!
Great video. I appreciate that it’s a mix of tips as well as a roadmap. I’m a software engineer but can’t see myself ever being one of the best, so I’m currently brainstorming other opportunities for the future. This was helpful.
I appreciate that you not only gave the theoretical pointers but the specific examples to go with that. This is where I have the most trouble appreciating and relating to similar content I've seen/heard before. So thank you 😊
Judging by the way you convey your thoughts in this video, I can tell you are a kick-ass writer. Great advice here. First time seeing a video of yours and it's an instant sub.
I’ve only seen 3 videos, but I love your advice. I realized I implemented a few of the things you describe. My issue is I listen to the wrong people who don’t know what my journey is and so those people - being on a different journey - feel that my journey wasn’t as important. I had to get rid of those people and continue on my journey. I’m so glad I found you. And you help fill in those cracks I don’t know how to fill. 🙏🏼✌🏼😇 My super power is artist (graphics, fine artist, illustrator)
Hey Anthony, Just wanted to drop you a note of gratitude after watching your video. It was a real eye-opener for me. Listening to you, I realized how much aesthetics, imagery, creativity, and imagination were my natural talents. I've always had a knack for appreciating beauty and the aesthetic, but I never fully realized it until recently, after buying an e-commerce course wich contained modules on graphic design. I was at a major crossroads, torn about whether to continue towards ecommerce or to follow the path of graphic design. I did research on that topic specifically 3 days ago, wondering if I could make it as a freelancer without any background nor formal education in this field. Your insights made me realize how much this path resonates deeply with my innate qualities, something I've overlooked for too long. It also showed me that it is possible without necessarily getting a degree. Thanks to you, I've made my choice in this significant dilemma. It couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, pinpointing the very issues that was on my mind. Best, Emmanuel
This was the push I need to break the cycle in my generation of living paycheck to paycheck. I was thinking of starting my own llc but buying a business sounds smarter than dealing with past and present liabilities. Thank you for the tips and tricks of getting me out of my comfort zone and realizing that I could take that quantum leap advantage. Keep up the good work for I am going to subscribe to your channel.
As a software developer, becoming a freelancer isn't that difficult. Freelancing is a business. And it encourages you to promote yourself and develop your social capital. You have the choice to scale and hire employees and freelancers or remain solo. I'd argue starting freelancing business as a software developer is easier than many other forms of businesses (including real estate) because lower capital requirements, you have more control, and you can focus mostly on things you already know. Save up your money and then put it into some ETFs, and then let the capital gains ans and dividends help your money grow. Once you've got too much money and looking for the next challenge, then consider buying real estate or some other private business.
Hundred percent. Freelancing to gain an additional income stream is a great idea. Then take that money and pour it into cash generating assets (like real estate) to really get the flywheel going.
@@jakejake7289 you could scale by trading other people's time for money when you hire others. As your freelance business matures, you shift more and more towards business development and growing relationships with existing and new clients. It's always an option And like many businesses, things evolve. You can start having multiple revenue streams. Any profit you make can be reinvested or used to buy real estate, other private businesses, or put into securities that generate passive income.
Good to come across this comment. I spotted this opportunity in my mid 20s (now mid 40s) and have worked in freelance avionics Systems / SW for almost 20 years. Now finally starting off-ramp into another business in private equity support.
@@jakejake7289That probably checks for a lot of careers, because you don't have that leverage of experience, you have to out in the time Once you have experience, you get to make more in less time And then you can hire people to outsource some of your task The process is the same for a lof of businesses, the details and the timing might differ
I almost forgot this is even an option. It sounds so damn good and it's way easier than going through the hustle of starting a business. Great insight. Thanks Anthony!
Starting a business / being an entrepreneur is a good idea, you get a bird's eye view right from the start since you're the founder! It's tough work, so is working for the man..but at least you own everything, all the intellectual assets belong to you, rather than the company - instead of building up someone's else's business! Like I always say "Just mind/run your own business!"
Wow, I was just thinking about this right before I watched this vid. In fact, I chose the vid because I trusted Anthony to shed some light, he's got a good head on his shoulders. Thank you so much once again big bro.
Finished college two years ago. And I’m going to do a full ride Masters Degree while’s I’m being paid. Imma make sure I learn all that I can from this.
Solid advice Anthony.. thank you. Really appreciate this video. I hardly comment on youtube but I figured out this is my only way to give back to you. Keep up the good work. 🎉
I appreciate the algorithm for pointing me in this direction. subbed after the first minute cuz i know a good stuff when i see one, Anthony, Lets do this!!!
Your analogy is brilliant: "A job is someone paying you to learn" This reframing is a powerful way to find value in working for others (even when you are entrepreneurial)
Thanks for your video, Anthony. It really explain the concept in simple way. Personally, I'm a super anlytical person which make me feel terrible when I first get into a phone sales job, so I totally agreed with you about finding your super power first. It will make your path to building wealth much easier and quicker.
I've been so busy listening to your other channel I've neglected your main :) I love the idea of leaning into your strengths. I've always been good at almost everything. But there are only two things I've ever gone all in on and that's sales and meditation and those two, especially the latter are where I'm more knowledgeable than most.
Ha, good to have you back on the main channel, Martin! The other channel is off the cuff and free flowing, whereas a bit more time and energy goes into each of these videos. Hopefully both are bringing ya some value. From what I've heard about your meditation history, I'd say you're definitely in the upper echelon there!
I started a clothing line as a freshman and got discouraged after inviting friend to help hence “don’t do business with friends” became a photographer years later why did I give up ? My friends wanted free photo shoots …🤔💯
If your environment, family and friends aren't entrepreneurs or at least supportive, it's best to find strangers to be your customer/client as they could just be like what you said, always expecting things to be free. Separate business and your personal life. I went through the same thing as you, started a clothing line during high school with my friends and it went on pretty well but since we all have different vision and can't be on the same page, we part ways.
@@khalilmzyiene-px7yftrue but if you look at the comics he got a bunch of degrees in various different things and he kept the business empire going and very much thriving so that he could use the money he earned to get all his expensive stuff
From experience (training to become an Occupational Therapist), passion is needed for motivation when things go wrong. You cannot succeed unless you have either passion or desire (which is helped by passion). The lessons from 'Think and Grow Rich' are the real deal - I experienced this myself BEFORE I ever read that book.
This is good. I never forget when my teacher put me down for a levels in double maths and physics. Hardest combination and I wanted to do humanities as I enjoyed them. The harder subjects got me into engineering and business. Far more in demand.
Thank you for this video. I needed to hear this refreshing perspective on the value of doing work for other people. We get so many stories on needing to jump in blind and get rich by being an entrepreneur, that it started to affect me as well. Not having any business idea, but at the same time hearing all the time that you need to start one, causes me great anxiety often. This video has somewhat aleviated these concerns, and made me realise that I'm in no rush. No need to compare myself with others, and better focus on improving myself and my skillset. And I definitely need to step out of my comfort zone to build social capital as an introvert.
I pushed and pushed for 15yrs working on two businesses that I started. 2021 came around and I just gave up and sold them off. They were making money but honestly it didn't justify the hours I was working, the taxes I was paying and the regulations that kept getting added each year. In hindsight I would have bought investment rental property outside of the US using a foreign created entity.
@@AnthonyVicino I actually sold my home in a suburb of Austin and used the profits to buy multiple rental homes outside the US. I took my own advice. Any profit gets rolled back into the company in the form of buying up more rentals. Lather, rinse and repeat. I went back to working in Data Engineering and soon I will be leaving the US to work abroad.
Just found your video on books this morning, was really impressed by it, saw another one and I was immediately sold - love your straight talk - keep up the good work Anthony!
Omg, I'm right now at the point in the video where you mention to not start but buy a business and that's exactly what I was thinking and the intuitive hunch I got that's the right thing to do about a few minutes before watching the video!!
At first I thought my superpower was handy stuff or I’m a follower of someone. After so many years of trail and error on handy job and mandate following commanding from someone, I realise that I don’t really enjoy the process of under someone control. Turn out I much likely having my own autonomy in life and job, this is where I find I am a good listener and leader for someone under me. I guest my superpower are positivity mindset and power of influence someone who’re down and negative. I’m a Leader!
thanks some things i needed to hear. i need to refine my skillsets first, overtake and then i can sell. as an architect student, some things need to be done. time to straight things out
Thank you for your video, I don't think I will get (yet) to the part of buying a business but the part of knowing your superpower, it's interesting and worth trying. Most of the time people don't know what they are good at and you are right, passion is fueled by results.
Nice video, really well explained. Unlike you, I have more experience in technical areas, electrical and mechanical maintenance, civil construction, carpentry and also finance as a trader and investor. I spent the last year learning a new art at an air conditioning company where thanks to my maintenance knowledge I meet and interact with people who are outstanding and well off financially on a weekly basis. I feel like this puts me on the right path to achieving my goals.
First of all, thumbnail, and title super catchy so good job at that. Second of all, i thought ull be all cocky like other creators who talk about finance, but you sound educated! My question to you, if i major in business, perhaps anything that can get me involved in a job, will the skillsets from that job pay off? Perhaps, ill be surrounded by like-minded people, maybe that will elevate me!? They all say college is useless, but i believe im able to get multiple streams of income, that will eventually lead me to starting my first business...sounds good? The reason i say college is because how can i get a job if i dont have a portfolio!!? Isnt thats what degrees are for?
College can be a fine routeif you're learning specific skills. I don't think going to school to learn "business" is a good route, only because "business" isn't a singular skill. It's actually a whole lot of sub skills (marketing, leadership, product design, customer service, accounting, etc...). And in my experience, no business school teaches you the things you actually need to know t successfully run a business. Going to school is a great place to meet other people though. Love that idea.
Just came across your channel. Phenomenal knowledge on success, instantly subscribed! 🙏 What if your superpower is music? I'm currently dedicating a lot of time learning another instrument and feel I'm great at writing music. Does this advice apply to creative industries like music and the arts? I'm also quite good at counselling and have a strong interest in human behaviour. Thanks for the content! Hope to hear back 🙏
Well im really good at analyzing stats and protocol in every aspect of a business or situation of life, when I work, I often see thing that need to be change and could bring a lot of money because the solution would save a lot of time/effort etc etc.. My father is an Industrial Engineer and did pretty much that for a dozen of years, he was engaged by company and bring 8-12% more money at the end of his contract (about half a year in general) and I realize that I was really good at that too and really love doing it!! only problem is, I don't see where I could find a company that could bring me knowledge of that skill.. well every company can bring me that skill the only problem is a entrepreneur that is willing to not firing me because i open my mouth on something that i shouldn't, or i could grind the echelon of the Job and being promoted and after start doing greater change!! I will definitely try that. Its been since 2016 i work as a cook, I'm studying for being a fire fighter in 5 years i will end up being one if everything go well!! might be able to up that skill in the 5 years!! Thanx for the video, its been a great time learning great thing!!
Le sigh... I've started 4 businesses from scratch. Two of those I exited after getting to 7-figures. The other two are both in the 8-figures (one is about to crack 9) and I continue to own and operate them. Try again.
Opening a business is not what you do when you want to get rich. Its what you do after you get rich. Before that, you probably can't afford it, no matter what you think.
@@AnthonyVicino Cheers!, I am speaking about the average person with no business experience and not a lot of capital. Lack of capital kills most small businesses before they can get enough customers to sustain themselves. Former corporate exec and consultant here.
I’m really good at flying planes and also a really good mid to long distance runner, and I can also learn things extremely quickly and perform them efficiently and I’ve also been very successful in a lot of leadership roles. What can I do with that? Edit: Also I’m still in high school and right now am hoping to become an airline pilot
You can tell Anthony is super wise by the number of books behind him. Ive been an English teacher for decades, I guess my superpower is presentation and speaking skills. How do I go from here?
Ha, thank you so much for the kind words. I've certainly read a lot, but don't know if that makes me wise. Communication skills are so damn important. You havea knowledge base which could bring a ton of value to the world.
I can say this is the best video I have seen as an entrepreneur... I have failed some businesses and by now I am an employee, but after hearing this amazing information I am sure I can try again in the next years. Thanks, and congratulations on your business. Regards from Mexico
My experience with the SBA in my small town 19 years ago. I had 10k in savings from working since 16. Had a large binder of plans for a family entertainment center that took growth, employees and security in mind. Basically the most research and work I had ever done for myself not someone else was in this binder. I needed a loan of 20k and this would have covered a year and a half of rent and employee salary with some miscellaneous expenses. The lady looked at me like a cow looks at an oncoming train. "We generally help start hair salons and tint shops here." Being 18 the bank was no help either. I'd like to say that I persevered and was able to get my business going. Instead I went to film school and I've never had that amount of money in my bank account ever since.😂
Saw the video and reading the comments i remembered i have a list with more than 30 ideas for business that i know i can do. Just now i added 2 more ideas that could work. I just hope that my dreams dont die and in the future i will see my list again and have the money and resources to start something, maybe buy a working business that i could use.
My Superpower is my creativity. But that is just too general! I can play drums but that pays no money, unless you are Ringo Starr. However, I also do know how to write. A handicap for me is that I am not a native-English speaker. So I have to work on it a little harder. But since it worked very well for you and for many others - writing, that is - maybe it will work for me also. Great video! Got me inspired! 😊👍 Thank you Anthony!
Great video! Unfortunately, I live 60km away from the nearest big city, so I don't have the opportunity to find a career with growth potential here. I can only look for remote work online and self-educate, which is less than ideal. But they say you have to make the best of what you have, right?
Loving this video man. I know this might sound selfish, but i want to see a video with your deeper perspective about college. I am currently going for Computer Science, but currently working as an IT technician for the school as a part time. My mother who is a professor at a university enjoys the video that you create, but she disagree with you on the college part. Then again she loves teaching so that is why she doesn't see anything wrong with college or university, but it would be interesting to see a deeper dive perspective about colleges / universities / education system video. But whatever you post, I will keep watching because I get something out of every video. Keep up the awesome work !!!
I appreciate you, brother. I did a deep dive into the college question on this episode of the Amplified Impact podcast. Go check it out and let me know if it's helpful: ruclips.net/video/QBt9nVk1oAc/видео.html
I definitely agree with the most things you said about social capital and going to college with a purpose instead of not having an idea on what's going on now that make sense. I will show this other video to my mother. I will ask her and see what she thinks of it. Thank for showing me a perspective on your side !!!! Keep more quality videos coming !!!
My super powers are marketing, graphic & web design. I had two printshop owners offer to sell me their business because they liked my work and I brought them business, and I turned them down because I thought there was no way I could afford it. I would have definitely improved on them because they were older and didn’t know all the ways their business could be incorporated into a larger marketing business. I didn’t even think of owner financing.
I like the way you reframe the way one should think about a job but unfortunately that doesn’t always shake out in reality. Your example for marketing sounds nice if you intend on creating your own agency a few years down the road, but a lack of formal education is going to be a huge barrier to growth for most companies in that sector, as unjustified or illogical as that may be.
It all depends on where you want to work. There are fantastic small marketing shops these days that only care about your work (not your school credentials). Find those and prove your merit. Doors will open.
Just rehashing to make sure I understand right. Find your talents, build them, get a job doing that thing you want to build. Next, you're explaining the value in learning all the levels in that business firsthand, with no risk (since you're earning a paycheck). Not only that, you get contacts on every floor in that industry (and maybe even potential investors.) By the time you buy someone else's business, you'll know exactly how it works and how to run it. You even know what makes a good employee and can hire better, too. And you're making money from day once since the business already exists. In buying instead of starting from scratch, you skip the hardest part, the startup. The only real hurdle is coming up with the money to buy it, but after that, you're set. This is my first time hearing this strategy and I'm an amateur in every sense, but I know gold when I see it. I hate working for people with great passion, But I never realized it could be more than just a paycheck. Thanks for the lightbulb moment!!! Subscribed.
I don't want to be rich. What I want is to not be destitute. What I want is to not fall off the horse. And you know what, I think that is fine. Maybe it's even a good thing, because if you can learn to be content with less in one domain, that leaves you with more energy to focus on other ones. Or so I'd like to believe, I don't know anything about anything, really. All of life is a compromise, and we all have different roles to play, after all. Good video! It didn't quite resonate with me, but there's a lot of stuff in it I liked. I do like and want _gardens_ in my life - things to tend, nurture, grow. That's where I'm coming from, and it'd be great to hear more in that vein.
Just for your information, if you are a good donkey for your boss, he will usually not replace you but try to keep you in the exact same position. Do never try to be the best employee for your boss. Look for yourself, get the best out of the job and move on. I have 2 decades of workexperiences in international corporations. I find your tipp on that a bit controversial.
Adriana is right. I suggested a work colleague for a promotion. Boss replied no, because the guy was so good at his current position. Essentially the guy was penalised for been too good at his job.
Highly disagree. When you increase your skill set and perfect your craft. Your employer is not going to want to waste your skills on meaningless task. They will want to utilize your skills to make the business more money. You’re either overvaluing your skill set or had externally shitty luck with employers. I quickly climbed the ranks for every company I’ve worked for. I’m the only common denominator. In 2015 I went from a warehouse worker making $11 an hour to becoming the director of operations making 6 futures. It took me 2 years to accomplish that. Perfect your craft and you will climb
I started a buisness and it made me rich. I started making 150 a day then i went up to 600 a day. I became a millionare in 3 years saving and investing.
Heard about seller financing for business for the first time not too long ago. You painted a much more complete picture of exactly what that would look like and what it takes to get there. Thanks. By the way...building a business right now that I sunk $60k into so far. Wish I had watched this a year ago 😂 The good news is that I'm using and perfecting ALL of my superpowers to do it 💪wish me luck
Awesome. Glad you found the seller financing part a bit more illuminating. It can be a bit of a black box when you're first stepping into it. I've always believed the real value isn't in building the business, it's in building the entrepreneur. That's the true value of the $60k you've invested so far, and it's going to eventually pay massive dividends. Keep going.
i find all of the videos of people starting a business and becoming a decamillionaire in a year or two a bit demoralizing. they make me feel like i'm wasting my time. but i don't think i'd be a good entrepreneur, and i've managed to grow my income a lot as a software engineer, and if i keep doing what i'm doing i could retire pretty well-off within ten years, or "rich" within 20. but that feels like a long time when i listen to a youtuber talk about making a million dollars per year.
@@AnthonyVicino hey thanks for your response Anthony! I watched (and liked) that video too. Something else I think is important to realize, and which I think you touched on there but didn't call out explicitly, is Survivorship Bias. Only the people who get lucky and have great success upload videos about their experiences and get a lot of views. The people who don't do so well are quiet about it!
You need to be in the influencer type in the DISC personality to be rich in youtube. If you are an engineer, you most probably fall in the data driven type of people. Continue your work, then develop passive income and you’ll be financially free in no time😊
As a person who has no knowledge on selling products, it seems obvious to me there are only 3 invention options. 1. Create something no one could've concieved (electricity) 2. Solve a problem (medicine) 3. Create a convenience. (Doordash) I heard a million dollar idea off of reddit once. A guy from the military suggested camo paint that was also bugspray and sunblock. Money is in conveniences.
I recently heard something from Ryan serhant that made a lot of sense Don't just focus on success, it's too vague and unknown, focus on being great at what you chose to do. Success us the by product. I just added a bit of my own spice haha

WHERE IS MY ELECTRIC CAR BRUCE!?
I can plan for the future, OR I can have procrastination immediately.
Precisely. Skills + Network = All you could ever want
Teaching is my superpower. Speaking, coaching and facilitating conversation in groups.
That is a very powerful superpower. Very powerful.
Yes! You're speaking my love language. I dig it.
Thanks, brother. Psyched you found the message valuable.
Well being a RUclipsr is a career on it's own and it needs work.
Being a millennial, I’ve heard all of these tropes innumerable times. This video does a great job reforming well intentioned advice into good advice.
Thank you!
Im a business starter and you can do it but Ill say its NOT for the faint of heart. Its for someone that loves both creativity and a grind.
This is truth
It’s definitely not for me
I flipped houses for a business (3 houses) didn't pay attention to taxes and fees till the last house.
You know there's a special form to defer taxes on flipping houses, right?
@@spicychad55 nope, but I stopped flipping ten years ago
Same thing happened to me, all the hard work seemed to be for nothing but at least it was a learning experience!
“It’s very hard to see the picture when you’re inside the frame” - love this quote! Love the video. ❤❤❤ Thank you!
Psyched you liked that line!
Great video, I am 17 and looking into different ways I can build wealth, I feel that I have decent capabilities in social media space(RUclips and TikTok) and teaching things to people. But will definitely take your advice to ask friends and family
It looks like you've had good success with your channel, so it seems you definitely understand something about the social media landscape.
Go for it it's not as hard as you think
He did say rich not wealthy. So do what you want with that but the only way the 99% can free themselves is opening a business and not slaving a job. The game monopoly came out the same time 1933 banking act was passed and forced Americans to turn their gold in for federal reserve notes. If you open a business you open yourself up to numerous tax loopholes that working a job won’t. The key is to pay as less taxes you can. 🔑
The tax benefits of owning a business are immense. Like playing the wealth building game on easy mode.
You're a breath of fresh air (and realism) in the age of 15 yr old youtube millionaires. Keep it up!
Thanks, Oscar! Glad you're enjoying, brother.
Love it!
Congrats! That's so awesome to hear.
Great video. I appreciate that it’s a mix of tips as well as a roadmap. I’m a software engineer but can’t see myself ever being one of the best, so I’m currently brainstorming other opportunities for the future. This was helpful.
I'm really psyched to hear you found it helpful. Thank you!
The analogy of 'eating the frog' for your boss is genius! Never thought of it that way, but it makes so much sense.
It's a powerful mental shift.
I appreciate that you not only gave the theoretical pointers but the specific examples to go with that. This is where I have the most trouble appreciating and relating to similar content I've seen/heard before. So thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Judging by the way you convey your thoughts in this video, I can tell you are a kick-ass writer. Great advice here. First time seeing a video of yours and it's an instant sub.
Wow, thank you! Psyched to have you here!
My super power is artist (graphics, fine artist, illustrator)
Psyched to hear you're finding value in the videos! That warms my heart!
Hey Anthony,
Just wanted to drop you a note of gratitude after watching your video.
Best,
Emmanuel
I really appreciate you sharing all that, Emmanuel. Thank you!
Love hearing that
Oh puhleeze.
I've done freelance software development. While it can generate income, it is not scalable. You are trading your time for money.
@@jakejake7289 you could scale by trading other people's time for money when you hire others. As your freelance business matures, you shift more and more towards business development and growing relationships with existing and new clients. It's always an option
And like many businesses, things evolve.
@@jakejake7289That probably checks for a lot of careers, because you don't have that leverage of experience, you have to out in the time
Once you have experience, you get to make more in less time
And then you can hire people to outsource some of your task
The process is the same for a lof of businesses, the details and the timing might differ
Just did #3. Closing this month with equity partners🎉
I almost forgot this is even an option. It sounds so damn good and it's way easier than going through the hustle of starting a business. Great insight. Thanks Anthony!
It's an easy one to overlook!
I am connector. I establish deep meaniful connections with ease. and I am a master at knowing the right people to introduce to each other.
Very cool
Hpw do you charge your fees, for what and how much
One of the few videos that actually makes sense. Super.
Thank you!
Agreed
I may have finally (after a lengthy search) a good mentor on business & finance. Thanks alot Anthony. God bless you
Psyched to have you here!
Wow, I was just thinking about this right before I watched this vid. In fact, I chose the vid because I trusted Anthony to shed some light, he's got a good head on his shoulders.
Thank you so much once again big bro.
I'm here for ya, brother.
Finished college two years ago. And I’m going to do a full ride Masters Degree while’s I’m being paid. Imma make sure I learn all that I can from this.
Hells. yeah. Psyched to hear that.
Solid advice Anthony.. thank you. Really appreciate this video. I hardly comment on youtube but I figured out this is my only way to give back to you. Keep up the good work. 🎉
Glad it helped!
I appreciate the algorithm for pointing me in this direction. subbed after the first minute cuz i know a good stuff when i see one, Anthony, Lets do this!!!
Awesome! Thanks to the Algo-Gods for bringing you here.
Superpower I believe... is that I can write good Copywriting! Now... I gotta go out there & prove it!!
Such a powerful skill.
Your analogy is brilliant:
"A job is someone paying you to learn"
This reframing is a powerful way to find value in working for others (even when you are entrepreneurial)
Psyched you found that reframe helpful. It was definitely a gamechanger for me./
Thanks for your video, Anthony. It really explain the concept in simple way. Personally, I'm a super anlytical person which make me feel terrible when I first get into a phone sales job, so I totally agreed with you about finding your super power first. It will make your path to building wealth much easier and quicker.
My superpower is to think outside the box to improve as a human being.
I dig it!
I've been so busy listening to your other channel I've neglected your main :)
I love the idea of leaning into your strengths.
It can be VERY hard going into business with a friend.

Doesn't hurt to have rich parents, I suppose. ;)

That's a great classic book.
This is good. I never forget when my teacher put me down for a levels in double maths and physics. Hardest combination and I wanted to do humanities as I enjoyed them. The harder subjects got me into engineering and business. Far more in demand.
So glad you enjoyed!
Psyched you found the video helpful. Now go get it!
Yep. Totally agree after seeing other videos about this. You can buy a business to keep or sell later. Excellent advice 👍👍👍
Absolutely!thank you!
Business can definitely be a grind (especially ifyou're not in juuuust the right vehicle). Real estate is pretty awesome, though. What's next for ya?
@@AnthonyVicino I actually sold my home in a suburb of Austin and used the profits to buy multiple rental homes outside the US. I took my own advice. Any profit gets rolled back into the company in the form of buying up more rentals. Lather, rinse and repeat. I went back to working in Data Engineering and soon I will be leaving the US to work abroad.
@@JohnDo-ntchaknow that's awesome. Congrats!
Please explain more. And how does one make money in the first place
Just found your video on books this morning, was really impressed by it, saw another one and I was immediately sold - love your straight talk - keep up the good work Anthony!
Hey that's awesome! Thanks for checking out the videos!
Start a non-profit and get people to feel good when they give you money.
That's certainly one path.
There are tons of non-profits out there collecting peanuts..
Omg, I'm right now at the point in the video where you mention to not start but buy a business and that's exactly what I was thinking and the intuitive hunch I got that's the right thing to do about a few minutes before watching the video!!
Great minds think alike!
Leaders are in short supply!
@@AnthonyVicinoGood leaders!
Outstanding video! Gives a great big picture of the path. Excellent wisdom.
Glad it was helpful!
thanks some things i needed to hear. i need to refine my skillsets first, overtake and then i can sell. as an architect student, some things need to be done. time to straight things out
You got this!
Thank you for your video, I don't think I will get (yet) to the part of buying a business but the part of knowing your superpower, it's interesting and worth trying.
Most of the time people don't know what they are good at and you are right, passion is fueled by results.
Psyched you were still able to find some value in the video!
Sounds like you're definitely on the right path. Keep at it!
You sir are an amazing human being ! God bless you a million.
Thank you!
Awesome to see someone approach this topic from a low risk perspective.
Glad you enjoyed it!

What if your superpower is music? I'm currently dedicating a lot of time learning another instrument and feel I'm great at writing music. Does this advice apply to creative industries like music and the arts? I'm also quite good at counselling and have a strong interest in human behaviour.
Thanks for the content! Hope to hear back 🙏
It applies in all domains (even the arts!)

Really psyched to hear that!
Great video Anthony. I like the contrarian video title, and loads of value.
Awesome, thank you!
Nice! Thanks for sharing a bit of your story. I've got some buddies that went into firefighting. They loved it!
Don't start your own business - teach others how to do this!
Proven recipe!
Le sigh...
I've started 4 businesses from scratch.
Two of those I exited after getting to 7-figures. The other two are both in the 8-figures (one is about to crack 9) and I continue to own and operate them.
Try again.
Im thinking of going in sales and making it my superpower
That is a helluva superpower. Go get it.
@@AnthonyVicino yup i will, cheers
Opening a business is not what you do when you want to get rich. Its what you do after you get rich. Before that, you probably can't afford it, no matter what you think.
Well, it worked for me... but a lot of luck involved.
@@AnthonyVicino Cheers!, I am speaking about the average person with no business experience and not a lot of capital. Lack of capital kills most small businesses before they can get enough customers to sustain themselves. Former corporate exec and consultant here.
That’s why real estate and stocks are safer options for us beginners😊
I’m really good at flying planes and also a really good mid to long distance runner, and I can also learn things extremely quickly and perform them efficiently and I’ve also been very successful in a lot of leadership roles. What can I do with that?
Edit: Also I’m still in high school and right now am hoping to become an airline pilot
That's awesome! Being an airline pilot sounds rad. (I was a mid-long distance runner in high school and college, too!)
Sorry to hear about the first business, but that's totally normal. Regroup and go for it again. I love the determination!
"We generally help start hair salons and tint shops here."
Being 18 the bank was no help either.
I'd like to say that I persevered and was able to get my business going. Instead I went to film school and I've never had that amount of money in my bank account ever since.😂
It can be pretty damn hard getting qualified for a loan when you're so young. I totally feel the frustration on that ne.
Saw the video and reading the comments i remembered i have a list with more than 30 ideas for business that i know i can do. Just now i added 2 more ideas that could work. I just hope that my dreams dont die and in the future i will see my list again and have the money and resources to start something, maybe buy a working business that i could use.
NIce! Keep that list handy. But most important, pick something and start working towards it.
I really don't know what my superpower is i've always loved reselling stuff and I started dropshipping a year a go and i've had my ups and downs
Dropshipping can be tough. Don't get discouragted. Reselling stuff is a great superpower, actually.
Thank you Anthony!
Creativity (in my book) is one of the most powerful superpowers of all.
Great video! Unfortunately, I live 60km away from the nearest big city, so I don't have the opportunity to find a career with growth potential here. I can only look for remote work online and self-educate, which is less than ideal. But they say you have to make the best of what you have, right?
Thanks to the internet, you have access to way more jobs than our parents did. You got this!
Go check it out and let me know if it's helpful:

Nice!
Always relate to your stories and videos. Some of the best on this platform

Not only that, you get contacts on every floor in that industry (and maybe even potential investors.)
By the time you buy someone else's business, you'll know exactly how it works and how to run it.
Subscribed.
This is the perfect summary. You absolutely nailed it.
My superpower is I love to draw and create visual illustrations

That's a totally fair goal. :)
Another banger of a vid. Great job on this, Anthony!
Psyched you enjoyed!
Super Great video and teachings. Sounds great.
Glad you liked it!
100%
I take jobs in consideration of what I'll learn during my time there
Smart. Very smart.
Depends on the boss,I suppose.
@@israelmorales2592 Couldn't agree more.
I started a buisness and it made me rich.
I started making 150 a day then i went up to 600 a day. I became a millionare in 3 years saving and investing.
Well done
Keep going.
💯 thanks I definitely will!!!
Thanks for the great video it actually helped me a lot!
Psyched to hear that!
I could have sworn the video was going to say "buy ETFs." That's still my way of owning a business.
Ha, that's not a bad idea, but probably not going to build meaningful wealth off ETFs alone.
i find all of the videos of people starting a business and becoming a decamillionaire in a year or two a bit demoralizing. they make me feel like i'm wasting my time. but i don't think i'd be a good entrepreneur, and i've managed to grow my income a lot as a software engineer, and if i keep doing what i'm doing i could retire pretty well-off within ten years, or "rich" within 20. but that feels like a long time when i listen to a youtuber talk about making a million dollars per year.
I did a video on thus awhile back:

1. Create something no one could've concieved (electricity)
2. Solve a problem (medicine)
3. Create a convenience. (Doordash)
I heard a million dollar idea off of reddit once. A guy from the military suggested camo paint that was also bugspray and sunblock. Money is in conveniences.
People pay for Speed, Quality, Convenience. It really all boils down to that, in the end.
I recently heard something from Ryan serhant that made a lot of sense
Don't just focus on success, it's too vague and unknown, focus on being great at what you chose to do.
Success us the by product.
I just added a bit of my own spice haha
That's exactly right. I spoke on stage with Ryan last year. Very sharp dude. Lots of great wisdom.
Awesome Thank You!
My pleasure!
I figure out problems. So I must be very careful about what I try to figure out. I will try and fail way longer than anyone around me.
I dig it
great advices. thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video!! Full of information and well explained🤝
Glad you liked it!
Appreciate your great thoughts
Thanks for watching!
Paid media is my super power. Hope to apply it to a future businese.
Love that. So powerful.
