I am struggling with jumping into a career I am really passionate about, I don't think that I am stupid nor do people call me stupid, far from it most people think I am really smart but I fear if I take that risk it will shatter my image and I will look stupid because I understand I will fail a few times until I learn to work with clients independently. And I been stuck in this rut for while, unsure how to take that leap of faith and not care about other people.

@@v1d300Hey, maybe you could try sitting down somewhere and picture yourself not doing so great, like failing at something. Do it a bunch of times until you kind of get used to that feeling. After each round, imagine yourself actually succeeding, though, so you're not just stuck on the failing part. It's like you're facing your fear and getting more chill about it. If you can just sit there with the feeling without freaking out or calling it a failure, it might actually help you out. Good luck, bro!

I used to think this way as well but I realized it's not about being smart alone, these guys are making millions because they're entertaining. Humans naturally want to be entertained alongside learning, the problem is that a lot of smart people are boring as hell, so even though we know more than these guys who make millions, most of us are nowhere as entertaining as they are lol. Money follows emotions, being knowledgeable doesn't heavily trigger any human emotion, but being entertaining does.

Just speaking for myself? You nailed it on the head.
I’m a high school drop out with only a GED who also grew up poor. Now at 50 yrs of age I own 3 brick and mortar businesses that do ok. I’ve always told folks that ask how I did it that I’m not the smartest guy. I’m not even the hardest working guy. But what I’ve always had is tenacity. I don’t give up. It may take me longer to cross the finish line. But I will cross it. I was ignorant on so many things when I first took over my first business. But I learned and grew. I’m a slow learner also. But again, I keep going.
I really enjoyed your video. I just wanted to share my little story to add to your point by sharing a real example.
I’ll add this. What keeps us going? The fear of losing it all. There’s definite a little amount of imposter syndrome. I think it keeps me on my toes and motivated to keep learning and improving where I can.

I had been searching for someone to articulate this for a long time now and this perfectly gave words to that feeling. Particularly the too stupid to quit thing.

The truth is though, you don't need money, you need resources sure, but not money. Imagine exchanging something with someone and using a vehicle created by some 3rd party you've never met which mainly benefits the 3rd party (this is what ''money'' is in reality).
Did you know that ''money/currency'' was first created by kings of the past as a way to get their peasants to work the fields? Clay tablets with numbers would get distributed to the peasants as a ''promise'' that they can get X amount of grain at the end of the month as long as they worked the fields every day.
"We really need clay tablets, lets go out there and get after it" xDDD you see how ridiculous it is?

I can tell you, im WAY more stressed to work for corporations.
Its pretty easy to have success in business, its about working alot and taking risk and being creative at finding solutions. But it has a cost, you will see your family alot less.

An interesting saying I learned years ago about competence, learning, during Krueger: The more you know, the more you know there is to know. Some times that scares the knowledgeable from moving ahead. They get frozen because they see things are complex. Sometimes a person wins because no one told them they can’t. Like the ‘dumb’ person who doesn’t see the obstacles, they win because they don’t see any obstacles.

My biggest setback that I’ve come to realize is I don’t want to be egotistical or self-centered and believe I am too capable of something when I’m not. I just don’t want to be judged I guess I’m afraid of that. I also realized that every time I gain confidence in something and pursue it, something bad happens that stumps it. Almost like I’m cursed, like I’m not allowed to enjoy doing what I love or find interest in. It happens every time. So I just let it go and don’t bother. But after this advice, Ima keep trying. Depends on your definition of value. If rich people buy things, then other people have jobs. Rich people have to pay more taxes to support people who don’t want to add any value to society. And rich people generally don’t magically get rich without adding value. Even if it’s inheritance, that rich person’s family created enough value for whoever is inheriting the money to be able to spend it as they see fit. And by virtue of spending it they’re creating value by giving others an opportunity to create and sell what they have.

I don’t really like some of the things stated in the video about your thoughts and your fixed mindset “like this rich guy is so dumb to quit” and other things mentioned in the beginning, but I do like that you spoke the truth and told what needed to be told to help us with being successful. From a perspective where no one really knew this stuff I would say it would be quite helpful. Also I do quite like your quotes at the end about not giving up and just not caring about what other people think, and just being the true version of yourself. Basically the theme of the quotes “you can’t win if you don’t start” and “you can’t lose if you don’t quit”. Very good wise knowledgeable, good advice especially that last one there. The belief of just believing in yourself no matter what and not quitting, but learning from mistakes. The first one is also quite good in terms of changing you le mindset from a “fixed mindset” to a “growth mindset” about taking risks, being bold and not being afraid to challenge yourself in different areas in life. Overall, the message and theme definitely helped the mindset to “get rich” (but not really) but does help one become successful, thus being “rich”, perhaps not always in money, but other beneficial ways. The video would definitely help you become more successful! Good stuff ❤

I think the primary cause of becoming wealthy is to know how to sell. If you're a great salesman, or you know how to create a product that really sells, then you have a great opportunity to win the money game. Sales isn't really something that's only for smart people. It's a skillset. And much like playing basketball, where certain attributes can propel you to the big leagues, it takes people with special talents to do well in sales. And intelligence doesn't have anything to do with sales.
So much like from ratatoille, not anybody can become a great salesman, but a great salesman can come from anywhere. But therein lies the problem. If winning the money game means you have to have a skill that is not gained from effort, but rather through some kind of genetic background, then that means most people are going to be doomed to poverty, no matter what they do. This, I believe, is a strong argument for socialism over capitalism.

Selling is a very powerful skill (not just for making money).

I personally don’t like salespeople. If a product is good it would sell itself. When I go to a car dealership I hate having a salesman follow me around. If I find something I will get to the person. I also have people always knocking on my door trying to sell solar panels and tons of other things. Like I said before if I want the item I would call people to get estimates. Anyway that’s just me, some love being catered to.

@EMan-cu5zo Keep in mind that I intend to use the concept 'sales' in its totality. Meaning that it's not just about selling in a traditional sales office, but also as a parent, as a teacher, as a friend, as an interviewee, etc. I've read several sales books and they all say that these mindsets and techniques can be used in all of life. And as far as I can tell, this seems to be true. This why products from all walks of life can be extremely inferior compared to their rivals, and yet still become #1 in the marketplace.

The smart person looks for the safest way to move to prevent uneccessary wastes of Time. That makes the process much slower in the long-term because they are more hesitant about risks and passing boundaries.

This video can be summarised as analysis paralysis the bain of my existence. I'm only starting to get over it recently after watching how much others are making with practically the same product's I've been risk averse to sell 😂😂

Risk could change from the point of view. Having a stable job without anything else, could be a huge problem if suddenly a economic crisis happens and wipe out your savings. Massive layoffs, career turning outdated, more competition, an accident.
All these things could happen and your "safe path" will be compromised. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't what most people do, but remember that everything has risk and even the safest options can catastrophically safe.
Having multiple incomes, getting life insurance, health insurance, learn to sell, don't waste money, don't stagnate money, etc, those are some tools to at least minimize risk. But no matter what you do, there is always risk, just minimize it but don't be paranoid about it.
