I loved the video !! Wow my landlord is cool as hell. I’ve painted twice, drilled holes and took off closet doors. Everytime he has to come to the complex he always compliments my husband and I on how nice we’ve made the space.
I was watching a home makeover show with my grandma once and she was just going off about the overuse of subway tiles. i though it was hilarious, especially when I realized how right she was oh my God
I actually like the glass tile. I do love the farmhouse look but it seems that everyone is doing the same thing. There is no originality. Same tile, same hardware and same colors.
I have a bare kitchen that I'm struggling to decorate, i don't know which tiles i should choose because the affordable peel and stick tiles only comes in subway or the glass one he had. I just got overwhelmed because everyone is doing the same thing, but on the other hand, that's the affordable easy way to have a ready kitchen
@@psychosadistic1 The peel and stick tiles will probably end up peeling off and looking nasty really quickly with the heat and steam you end up having in the apartment.
Might be a good idea to get some velcro strips, and attach that hanging shelf to the peel and stick tile, especially with so many pretty fragile items on it!
I actually did get them and tried attaching them but the stain wasn't 100% dry so they didn't stick. But I did apply them yesterday and fixed them to the wall just to make sure! I should have mentioned that in the video but thanks so much for the comment reminder because it's def necessary!
I love those peel and stick tiles... They look so real! I also like those black handles and the colour of that wood stain. It’s not too light, not too dark and not overly orange!
Love it! 😘 I would have used the wood stain on the jar lids and kitchen roll holder, to help tie all the wood tones together. This would make everything look more expensive too!
Great Job! Wrapping the tile around the corner was a good move. I like your choice of handles. Putting a draping plant on the shelves helps to soften the space.

I am extremely fortunate I think after reading some of these comments! My hubby and I are renting and its a very outdated 2 story home that need some work! Our landlord said we could do any upgrades we wanted as it will only increase the value! But, we aren't planning anything crazy looking or anything and he likes how I set it all up and said he liked my style so he trusts we will make it better!

Yeah, I definitely thought the same considering the doors had the built in handles on the bottom. I guess he could always putty the holes in when he moves out. Or hope his landlord loves it and leave the hardware. I know must people usually take the old off then put it back up. Regardless it looks great. I don't think most home owners mind as long as it's improving the space.

Ny Rosa Totally agree but you have to sometimes ask yourself if it’s worth your deposit to customize the apartment to look more unique to yourself? Especially if you’re going to be staying there for a while, I would forgo the deposit in favor of customizing things within reason to make my apartment more unique.

Tip or suggestion: add double sided tape to the back of the shelves so they don't wobble too much as you put or take things off of them. I diy some shelves like that for my previous bedroom and I always had that issue

It's very nice! Love the drawer handles, the rug, the overall look :) If you ever use the peel and stick again, I would make sure any fixes you did would be hidden underneath the bottom edge of the cabinet, and not above the counter where it's obvious though!

Agreed. It is very close to XO M’s restyle. Though I’m not a fan of glass tile patterns like that (reminds me of mid 00’s condo design), the subway tile is very basic/mainstream. It’s popular for a reason because it can be worked into almost any design style. But it would’ve been nice to see a little more stretch of his design muscle.

If you don’t want to drill holes or your landlord tells you no. You can always attach them by with command stirps...well, maybe not these knobs exact ones with a more significant base.
Is it really that serious? I wasn't allowed to for mine either but my landlord eventually let me since I agreed that I would patch up the holes if I ever moved out and do some repairs on anything that did change provided that it was nothing too extreme like tiles. Stick on ones were fine since I would be paying for everything including the repairs when I moved out. Could be something you can negotiate if you're renting
@ChaosAngel1331 Yes, you can negotiate if you're not renting from a slumlord and don't have corrupt management. Some would use a tiny hole as an excuse to not return an entire security deposit.

They're usually waterproof so the sink area isn't a big deal. But if you cook a lot, not really a good idea as it could burn/melt off the plastic

If you don’t want to drill holes or your landlord tells you no. You can always attach them by with command stirps...well, maybe not these knobs exact ones with a more significant base.

Is it really that serious? I wasn't allowed to for mine either but my landlord eventually let me since I agreed that I would patch up the holes if I ever moved out and do some repairs on anything that did change provided that it was nothing too extreme like tiles. Stick on ones were fine since I would be paying for everything including the repairs when I moved out. Could be something you can negotiate if you're renting
@ChaosAngel1331 Yes, you can negotiate if you're not renting from a slumlord and don't have corrupt management. Some would use a tiny hole as an excuse to not return an entire security deposit.
