How interesting.. Your opinion is completely valid, but what my perfectionist self loves about him is that he doesn't let any imperfections/complex problems discourage/paralyze/slow him down. It's inspiring to me, because it reminds me that the scissor cuts on the tile, sometimes visible glue gun marks, etc. are not actually part of the big picture, I just sometimes let it get in my head, when I'd be better off just doing it already. (my type of perfectionism is to my detriment when it comes to home makeovers, it usually paralyzes me and drives me cray)
Lili Sz Me too, he’s does things very well and pays attention to detail but he doesn’t get caught up in perfectionism. I would totally obsess about a slightly crooked cut and he just moves on to accomplish so much more and I would have either quit or started all over to achieve perfection... not a good thing and I hate that I am like that!
Same its what sets him apart from other DIYers, Drew never does a half-assed job and thats why we love him!
The real test is when you take the tiles off the wall...do you have videos of that to see if it rips the walls?
Wish you framed the mirror somehow and put gold knobs on the cabinets. Would have elevated it so much more. Great job overall though♥️

OMG Drew left his hair products here from Function of Beauty and I thought I’d try them and the smell is amazing. It really smells so tropical like papaya and mangos I’m not kidding. I’m going to buy some that is personalized just for me. I’ve never seen this done before but loved the idea and I can confirm that the smell is soooo good. No the brand did not pay me to write that lol.
Actually just used shampoo and conditioner and happy to say my hair does have a tropical smell to it but it’s not quite as much as when u smell it in the bottle. Didn’t make my hair frizzy and was easy to style.
You raised a good man. My son is 13 and discovering his sexuality and Drew is a role model. We are moving from Chicago to Nevada in the summer and my son is going to try to recreate Drews stuff. Its a distraction from not knowing how kids are in a new state and just the usual teen agst. Im grateful that my son has Drew to look up too.

Yiga Lord Banette Hi. It’s rough being a kid. Kids are harsh. I’m so happy u are an accepting loving parent because some are not. Always scary for everyone to move. We may move this year to Arizona and I’m nervous already. Do u or your son have any ideas that drew can create for your son to do? Drew told me to ask u. I’m sure if your son is as nice as you are he will do great with the move and making friends.

The flooring is not renter friendly. It takes work to remove and leaves a glue film after.

marikie marie Renter friendly means the ability to put it back as before. It doesn’t mean that it’s always easy to do. But stick-on vinyl will always come off of ceramic tile.
I'm also betting that you could line your original floor with contact paper since that's an easier removal and stick the tiles to that...
It's an extra step but it would give the best of both worlds with removal and the look 😊
That peel & stick floor tile is everything! It made an enormous difference, along with your Dad’s painting of the cabinet in that dark color, along with all the other black accents you chose, the sink fixtures, the shower curtain rod and the old man image on the pot. The shelves and subway tile really upgraded the look of the toilet corner! That feels like an odd thing to say but I feel it balanced this vertically there! Overall, I give it a Wow!
When we updated out bathroom , we took the sink faucet off and painted it a matte black. It’s a great way to save money, although I love the Koehler they’re not cheap. So if anyone wants the look for less, paint a couple of coats then make sure you get a waterproof top coat. I’ve had it for 4 years with no problems. Btw the bathroom turned out beautiful.
Pro tip when using the stick on tiles make sure you caulk all the edges makes it look more profess and seamless

Will the tiles still come up okay if my landlord asks me to pull them up when we leave?
It depends on the brand you buy, but yeah they all usually come off no problem just research yours to make sure lol

I personally installed this peel and stick wall tile and it WRECKED the wall entirely. So on the floor it was okay if it’s ceramic underneath but it leaves a nerverending sticky film. So beware ! Although must say this transformation is superb !

Likely not, I've used something similar before in my bathroom and it keeps peeling. It looks great at first but not very durable at all.
It never ceases to amaze me how the color black doesn't make a room look dark and morbid. Excellent makeover! Looks so beautiful.
This transformation is incredible. The pattern selection for the geometric floor and subway tiles are the best ways to use those wall sheets I've seen.. Love it. Thanks for sharing.

I liked the design, but it drive me a bit mad at the end when you left the toilet paper holder chrome. It would be so easy to spray paint that black like the light fixture. Details!

the top of your “tile wall” needs an ending...like a strip of painted wood...it’ll detract from the fact that it’s not really tile and it’ll keep the stickers from peeling as well...

One more thing that will help give the bathroom a more modern feel is framing that huge mirror. My neighbor went out and bought some medium width slightly fancy crown molding, angle cut it and framed the mirror being careful to not nail through the glass. She painted it black prior putting it up and it was just the right finishing touch.

This bathroom makeover is fabulous. My own bathroom make over also was completed and I also had those builder grade mirrors. They look like motel mirrors so I glued around entire mirror small tiles on one and had some wood cut at Home Depot and used rosettes in corners. What a transformation you should try it. It looked like a mirror you would find in a store like Home Goods for as little as 20 dollars and 15 min of your time.
Came out so good! I think some wood framing around the mirror, same as the shelves would have looked perfect with this look!

I never thought of spray painting those “1970’s Hollywood Dressing Room” light fixtures.... good idea! And I’m not positive, but that thing you called a plant stand, is actually a vintage bathroom vanity chair. It usually came with a pillow on top so women could sit in front of their vanity to put on makeup. I also have one that I might bring into my bathroom now too, since I saw yours. Good job. 👍

A single handle faucet is much better, if you change it. More sanitary for these days as well, as you can turn it on and off with your wrist and the temperature control is way easier. Having an existing two handle faucet would be reason enough for a change.

I found that you make it so easy to follow your work like an expert teacher.
I can’t imagine that flooring holding up well though, especially with constant water on it. It’s cute I just don’t see it lasting long
It will last if they add caulk to fill the seams. Otherwise, it'll hold up okay for a while, but it will trap mold in the seams and will be impossible to clean from the get go. I hope they sealed it before they used the shower.
I wish more RUclips interior designers got imput from actual architects before giving bad advice on how to install products they promote. Cuz trapping water in your grout under linoleum peel and stick could cause nightmare level damage to the flooring below over time, as does attaching a new faucet without properly seal the connections.
I also wish people would stop calling them interior designers when they’re actually interior decorators 😅 not the same thing. You need a degree for one of them...
