Girl! You and Graham should totally make and sell more of this plate rack. This baby is totally on brand and way cuter and sturdyer than what we can find in stores. It would make a lot more sense than a link to converse shoes
I love scallops so would totally purchase multiples for my plate collection- Agree with you
Sell the plans, for Pete's sake!
Sell the plans, for Pete's sake!
Didn't mean to hit twice; I have a tremor.
I'd buy the plate rack!!
What I like is that AG's team works with rental restrictions and small spaces. Designers for huge houses with unlimited clients' budgets come in and immediately demolish walls, perfectly usable cabinets, and even to the point of tearing up hardwood floors. (I'm looking at you, HGTV!) And then the end results are very similar designs - and always with a HUGE kitchen and HUGE island! I love the creativity and heart that goes into AG designs! I like the idea of working with what you have and making something unique and beautiful.
Yeah, what is up with that ( lookin’ at you too HGTV)?!? It’s like the kitchen takes up the entire first floor!!
Page Wassel did a great video about HGTV and how they started to make everything open concept and tear out floors and walls so they could increase male viewership by bringing in BIG MAN TOOLS 😂. Worth a watch! Great point you made. Love seeing things reused and worked with like this loveable tiles!
I completely agree! Who has a fifty to one hundred thousand dollar budget to re-do their home & how many people actually live in a 2,500 SF home? I live in a cracker box. I reuse & re-do what I have. And at the end of the shows they all look the same; white on white on white!
lol 🤣
It looks fantastic. The only think I'd do differently is lean into the backsplash more by painting the cabinets a peachy color instead. And a nice art print or poster between the hutch & the sliding door would be nice. It would have to be flat enough to fit behind the barn door but you'd still see it at all times because the door had glass panes.
I so agree. I find the whole look charming, but the large wall space next to the hutch is so glaringly empty. Since it must remain empty for the sliding door, an image on the wall is a great suggestion.
Yes I agree, the hutch could also have been centered and then add a cute stool or two next to it. Would have found a door that splits vertically in half instead of using rolling door hardware OR even simpler - use vintage cottage fabric and hang a split curtain.
I couldn't agree more about the cabinet color. It didn't need to match the backsplash exactly, but the greyish pink just feels a bit off next to the orange accents. It's not close enough in undertone to match, but it's not different enough from it to be contrasting. Either a peachy cabinet color or a pale blue would've coordinated much better.
100% the peach would've been a nice vintage touch and made more sense with the backsplash.
I also would have preferred a different cabinet color.
I loved the aesthetics on this one! What bugs me though is that the functional stuff is often left out. In one shot i saw the automatic kitty feeder, in the pantry, so i was expecting a cat flap in the door... and then aleksandra put down the 'cute bowls' but if this kitty has a feeder, there's a reason for that :') also the magnets are NOT stopping that cat :'D similar to not seeing the sodastream again.
Yeah, I agree. I loooove the space. But that they clearly had that Soda Stream out for daily use, but it won't fit into that hutch really bugged me too. I mean, we don't know, maybe Alexandra talked about it and clarified with the renter. It's possible that they don't really use the Soda Stream often (all the bottles were on the highest shelf) and therefore don't really need it out all the time. The automatic kitty feeder could only be for when they are away and in that case they can leave the pantry door open a bit. But I do wish that if that were the case, they would have mentioned it :). As for the magnets, there are some very strong magnets out there. It's entirely possible that's totally kitty proof now.
Totally agree. When your working with a space this small - EVERYTHING needs to be functional. I would have liked to see maybe a curtain instead of the sliding door that took up a HUGE amount of space. The hutch, though cute, also took up a huge amount of space. I also had a bit of a problem calling this renter friendly as many landlords would not be okay with the tenant painting the cabinets (purple at that) and drilling in the ceiling and walls. I would have liked to see them work with the hanging utensil rack because it was a great piece and stored way more than 4 utensils. Again space! Overall I think the design is really cute but the functionality/livability is overlooked.
I agree, the space is very pretty and they obviously know what they are doing with the painting/woodwork but I feel some things are there just for the 'aesthetic' of it..while in such a small kitchen the FIRST thing should actually be functionality.
While the cat bowls were actually there before (see 01:30), things like the sodastream not fitting is just a no-no (if they jndeed use it daily), and where did the rubbish bin go? You can see it in the before shots near the window, but now there is no space between the hutch and the wall.
Also, for such a small kitchen, putting on such a large door, that however pretty and aesthetic, takes SO much space is not very smart at all imho...and all that unused wall space too! And the ivy plant put there? I'm confused. The door should have been a folding one, or just a tent (which would go well with the cottagecore vibes), and the hutch pushed closer to the pantry, since it is too big near the window, so as to save space for plants/a small pouf for the cat, and allowing more light, fundamental for such a small space. Just my two cents, but I'm not a home decor expert, so obviously I mean this just as suggestions and no harsh critique.
Edited to add: To make it more cottagecore-y, I'd paint the door tracks a less harsh colour than black, which is too much imho (does it bother only me that it is outside the moulding? The moulding is so pretty, I feel it doesn"t deserve that xD), and put a cute floral wallpaper, maybe in the same shade as the tiles, inside the hutch (same ad before, I feel that wood colour is too harsh within the context of this kitchen).
@@lilyflower0616 I imagine they talked with the landlord and he was probably thrilled it was going to be updated and he didn’t have to do it. Any bit of fixing up means more money for him when they leave.
Lovely colours, I'm not a fan of the distressed pantry door or mismatched knobs but that's a personal preference. Overall its very pretty
same about the mismatched knobs.
I would like the door more if it wasn't put on an industrial black barn door track... Very odd pairing
Same. Also, they distressed the door too much, so it looks faked and not natural as they said not to do, but then did themselves. :P Otherwise I think they did a great job to that small space. :)
It was way over distressed imo, liked the idea of it but if it was me I'd be going back in with the chalk paint to cover it up and gently distress with some sandpaper!
Yeah,I'm not feeling that either, just doesn't match well with cabinets.
Who’s already watched the beautiful hutch DIY video and is here to see it in place? Loved all the mixed knobs! 🌸🌼🐝
I was so excited for the bonus video!
🐝🐝❣️
SAME!
Yes!! I loved it. Gave me some ideas for my thrifted vintage hutch
Yep, saw it!! Really liked that it was a separate video.
Alexandra and Graham trying to match eachother’s sentences is so cute 😂 love their fun/light hearted dynamic
It's so obvious he's in love with her. She needs to marry him one day. They are such a great team. 😊
@@kathydangelo365 she's already married 💀
@@scarlettsky5302she’s not!
@@mariatrinidad1370Oh I thought Noah was her husband 😅 They seem pretty committed and live together
@@kathydangelo365 aww I see it as a great friendship/platonic relationship. Great chemistry!
The plate holder! Wow! Graham's skills are insane
Why does this channel not have more subscribers!! I think it's so much more down to earth and relatable in terms of interior design than many of the other things out there. It has a very specific style and vibe, but in terms of doability, reproducible ideas/hacks and inspo, team AG are really doing a great job!
I am so for helping them a million followers 🙌🏾!!!!
Im not sure I’d necessarily agree regarding the very specific style, I think there is a broad variety of styles covered on the channel, that said I do think that each of those styles do have a distinct Team AG stamp
I feel it's like we're part of an exclusive club :D
I totally agree!!
So so so cute! I would have hung the plant in the middle of the windows, so it doesn't mess with the Barn door. And that wall where the Barn door slides over I put a flat piece of art work ( poster of herbs?). So cute
Yes, I was thinking of chalkboard paint!
I really love how you name EVERY single piece that you use so that people can realistically do this stuff at home - thank you!!
Major improvement! Painting the wall above the cabinets made a big difference. Although I love pink tones that backsplash looks like it has a more orange tone so I would have gone with something in that color family. Also fewer cabinet knobs. How about just 3 styles? Do love the bees. Curtains are perfect. I wondered how it could work, but the barn door was a great idea (way overly distressed though).
Totally agree with your suggested changes…had those thoughts also. 3 knob choices feels deliberate, more feels like clutter! The pantry door was over stressed, the hutch was fine! Yes, for peachy grey cupboards instead of lavender grey…I believe it was called.👍
Or, make all the knobs on the cabinets mis matched. So it looks more like a collection that was slowly grown & scavenged
Looks great! I would have liked to see more organization and shelves in the walk in pantry though. I feel like it was a space that could have been made over to look great!
Not sure what the budget was but missed opportunity in upgrading & maximizing storage in the pantry.
Definitely could use a new configuration.
Absolutely! I think putting on a pretty door to hide the mess in the pantry was disappointing. I waited to see more shelves being built in the pantry and more countertop space added on the opposite wall from the sink to increase functionality. I don’t know how they meal prep in this kitchen at all with the existing amount of counterspace.
The kitchen is so cozy and cute. However, an opportunity was missed in not redesigning shelves in pantry. Loads of storage area could be added. I do recognize time constraints place big restrictions on what can be done and multiple shelves are not "interesting:.
Oooff. Those mismatched knobs would make me crazy. The thrifted plates are awesome. And Graham making custom pieces like the plate rack feels like when Ben Napier makes a custom item on Home Town.
Omg my face when I learned Graham made the plate holder 😮😮😮! What can’t he do???
I truly feel this is one of the best home make over shows I've ever seen - on tv, on netflix, on youtube, where ever! Your chats with the clients, what you take into consideration... and how gorgeous is this! I was so skeptical of the cupboard colours and it worked perfectly!
I agree, I'm excited for each new episode.
I was a little iffy on the black hardware for the sliding door. Normally, cottage core should be copper or gold. Farmhouse or modern would be black. But it looks okay there. It does stand out in contrast with the light colors. But everything else in light colors follows the whimsical suit. Very cute details.
The word cottage core usually makes me run for the hills but I love Kelly’s inspo pics
Oh & I’m sorry I forgot to say I love Alexander’s little kitchen masterpiece here
I love how it doesn't look brand new but till looks so fresh. Beautiful job!
Dave: removes cabinet doors
The cat: this is the single greatest day of my life
Really wish the pantry had been organized instead of a door being added to hide the mess. The door will probably be left open like 95% of the time anyways. Super love the rest tho, and would love to have a similar hutch moment in the future for myself :)
Another fantastic makeover! Love the cabinet color! Graham showing his amazing craftsmanship as always. Love!
I love that she said 'We share space with a 3 year old cat' 😆
This is my favorite video you’ve ever done. Like I cannot even express how lovely this kitchen is 🥹
I just love Amanda so much. The way she said “I buffered time” “because I know you all” was a total boss babe thing to say ❤
Number 1. Graham is nothing short of a treasure. Besides all of his other creations, that plate rack? 💕2. I want to move into that kitchen and never leave. 🏵️
Kelly was so sweet! You can tell shes a big fan and well deserving/appreciative of the makeover. I love the sheer joy your team gives others ❤
This kitchen speaks to my cottagecore loving soul so much! Just imagine walking in and the floor and counters are sprinkled with golden morning light. The colours and accent decor are absolutely beautiful. 🩷🌿🫖🌷
Really cute kitchen. Love the colours. Pls note that toaster oven is not safe to use on wood, let alone surrounded by it and steam from kettle will damage the beautiful hutch.
I put my toaster oven on one of those tempered glass cutting boards to protect the countertop.
My mini toaster oven is inside my pantry, which has outlets. It's sitting on a woven placemat, and it works great.
I thought the same thing!! They can pull it out a bit while it's in use though. The heat on that wood top though, put some kind of heat shield on that top stat!
@@trishac9516 I’d be afraid it wd catch fire 🔥! Those toaster ovens get blazing hot!
@@susanmei9980 I've had mine (Breville brand) for 2 years and it's been fine. Before, that same area had a 4 slice toaster in it. When I purchased the mini toaster oven, the sale associate told me I would not have any problem as long as there was something underneath (my placemat) and I left some space (a few inches) all around it. I bake/toast in it all the time and there is never a problem. I have never broiled anything in it, though, so that might be an issue, but she did say it would be fine, even at the highest bake temperature.
Such a cute kitchen I love the barn door and hutch. I'm not crazy about the mix match hardware though. I think it looks messy and out of place. But overall a great makeover. 😊
I’m not a fan of mismatched hardware either. It looks like you didn’t have enough of one style of hardware, so you just used what you had available. No shade to team AG though. As long as the client loves it, then that’s all that matters.😊
@@LindaKayHolevasI think this is exactly what they were going for - the attitude of using what you have because some pieces might have worn down so you just replaced the ones that needed it - pretending there's a long backstory to make this vintage vibe more believable
Graham just GETS IT. Whatever the vibe he nails it! I want one of those plate racks, seriously you need to have a shop for these amazing pieces!
LOVE!!! I don't know quite what it is about redoing smaller spaces, but I adore your designs. The lavender basket on the door was everything. I also really liked seeing the video yesterday of the hutch makeover, I vote to keep doing those videos as well. The mismatched knobs on the hutch make so much more sense now with the ones on the kitchen cupboards.
Loving the Kitchen but still don't really like that type of wooden knob but do love the Bees and the white knobs 😮 The Final Outcomes Appeal is Marvelously Curated = However, Am Wondering 🤔 if You're Helping Her to Actually reorganize that pantry to create more shelving & Better aesthetically pleasing storage for all the cleaning supplies & the extra needed storage opportunities that can be created on a Budget Pantry's can be so Beautiful 😍
video Make Over concerning Making Attractive enough for a magazine covers it have better glow and utilize the space better but 😮However that could've been episode 3 of this updated space...noted carpet Rug safety pads to keep it from slipping under the clients feet
I always like before I play the videos cuz Im sure they're divine😍

While I was waiting for today's makeover, I went back and re-watched my favorite AG episodes' reveals. Just a tiny suggestion - could you spend a little more time on the reveals? I've noticed that other designers use more video time on the reveals - from every possible vantage point. Just a thought.
So glad you all are back, BTW!
Well, using a cup from starbuks to as a mold for the plate rack is the best. They should sponser the channel ASAP. Graham is so so talent...you all are!!
Love the hutch make over! Though I would be weary about plugging the kettle and toaster into a power bar, especially in an old home. They should really have their own circuit.
Good point, Fiona. But they can use the power bar exclusively for the toaster oven and move the kettle to another spot in the kitchen when they need to plug it in. The thing with the power bar is that you can turn it off when oven not in use and it saves electricity. I have my toaster oven on a power bar and it's the only thing on it. 😊
I have this issue in my old apartment. Early 1930s, one outlet for the fridge and stove (gas stove) and one outlet next to the counter. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I made sure the power bar was heavy duty. I strictly use one appliance at a time.
I used to have a toaster oven, kettle, and coffee maker plugged into a single power strip in an old apartment like this one, and so long as I didn’t use more than one at a time it was all good
I'm just waiting for Graham to publish his own version of a diy book now - he really deserves it, and it's bound to be an instant bestseller!!
"This is not a twig" ... "Branch" ... "LOG" OMG I couldn't stop laughing!!
Graham is sooooooo talented and respectfully adorably good looking!!
I’ve said it before - but now I mean it-this is my favourite transformation so far. Simply because you matched her personality so well. Beautiful and practical!!!
I would love to watch a spin off of Graham just making all the stuff he makes. It is amazing!!
Such an amazingly beautiful kitchen!! Great deaign. I love the knobs!!
Graham needs to sell those plate holders!!!
Painting above the wall above the cabinets the same color was straight up genius. Well done to it all! And youtube thanks you for leaving those special apple tiles that are absolutely adorable 🍎
I need alex and Graham’s help they’re too good! This was a really nice makeover! Graham makes the woodwork look so easy 😅
Also, I can’t stress enough how much we want to see more #DIYDeepDive vlogs. So much YES PLEASE. 🙏
I felt it in my soul when she said 'it had white walls' then opened her eyes to see all the even whiter walls T^T make it more cosy come on! wood tones and warmth! ixnay on the white already
This is your forte Alexandra, so charming. I love the colors and you always build in so much storage and functionality where there was none before.
This is absolutely GORGEOUS, I wanna move in, like NOW! But I also feel like the pantry has sooo much potential for optimised storage?! One more video, maybe? 🤍
I love it, love it. The only thing I question is the barn door. In such a small space, it takes up three feet of valuable real estate on that wall.
This kitchen is charming to the max - so sweet. My favorite part is mixing the doorknobs for a whimsical look. One of my favorite team AG videos. Have a lovely day. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
I used your videos to DIY my apartment about 4 years ago. Now it's time for a refresh and this vid is gonna be major inspo for my kitchen!! Thank you for your affordable and renter-friendly DIYs!
I'm probably repeating myself, BUT I've been an avid fan since 2018 and am so impressed with the progress over the years. I never miss a video and, of course, I watch them more than once! And this one went from bland white to sunny summer day ❣️👍🌞
I loved it! One thing though, you guys did an awesome door but what about the inside of it? I was expecting some shelves and a better using of the space.
Omg, so happy to see your skills grow! You finally acheived cottagecore! It's like a pastel minimalist cottagecore vibe, definitely--as you said--with a farmhouse lean.
I love this makeover so much. What a lovely change from bland to charming. The simple roll up curtains, the chest and hutch, the pantry door! I agree with others regarding the plant, which would be so much better on the other side of the hutch by the window, with a poster or decorative tea towel on that wall where the door slides, and the door does look rather overworked, but those aren't glaring annoyances, they can be easily changed if that was wanted by the client. It's fascinating to see how a tiny rather boring space can be made so sweet and homely. 😊👍
This is absolutely adorable! And I love that you did a sliding door for the pantry! I was already thinking wow, that’s a small kitchen… Which way are they going to make the door open and is it going to hit the fridge. Nope, you already thought of that! And the hutch is amazing. And the runner. And the lamp. And the vintage tchotchkes that you picked up. And those curtains! I love everything!
Graham needs his own channel!
I love Graham, and now I love Dave. Good team AG
I feel like this makeover, more than any other, shows how far you've come. I love how every team member is appreciated, too. Thanks for being so awesome :)
Really really cute!!! It just goes to show that no matter how small your space, it can look so cute and be functional. Nice work Team AG
I LOVED this light pink of the cabinets. The golden dragon-fly handles are gorgeous and the dish holder hand made is a piece of art.
I remember you did kitchen before without Graham and you were so stressed. Graham elevated your vision and really helped to relieve all those painting and handyman work
I absolutely MUST have one of those plate holders! Please please have Graham name a price plus shipping to NY, I’ll purchase immediately! Holy moly the whole space has my ❤️. 🙌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I came to a coffee shop to get some work done. Realized it was 10:58 and decided to just wait 2 minutes for the video.
Yay!!!!
Graham is amazing!
I love the distressed door! I love a heavy distressing. It acts almost like an Art piece. Great makeover.
Beautiful and quirky! Alexandra and Graham could totally start a hutch restoration business!
Graham is a genius
Graham, that plate rack is everything!
Having more then one video was nice this week! Love the finished look!
PLEAAAASEEE more cottagecore makeovers!!! This was one of my favourites! You guys smashed it
I just love this makeover. I can smell the apple pie baking. Great job team AG!
Love the makeover, but also, I've watched the FIRST 9 SECONDS THREE TIMES!😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤
I love the makeover. However, I’m not totally sold on the barn door. I feel that the door slides takes up a lot of wall space that could be better used. Wondering if a regular door or cute curtains would’ve been a more functional choice.
I thought the same thing!! I am not a fan of curtains as doors, but it seems like it would work in a space for someone who likes this decor. In a kitchen that small, every inch should be used. (Maybe a regular door that opens into the pantry?)
I love this makeover but the “unexpected yet timeless” color being a pink made me laugh
Wow one of the best make overs I ever saw. Who would have thought the hutch would make such a difference. I love this kitchen. ❤
I had a big smile on my face when you added the finishing touches. Its such a cute space and really everything she asked for and more. LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️ great job!!
The finishing touches are the cutest part, but also the first to be removed once you stop taking photos and start using the space. Anyway, it looks nice.
Hutch is great. Kudos on finding the right door. It’s a good counter balance to the hutch
Just the right visual weight, right?
This was an amazing makeover! Love all the cute details. That plate rack that Graham made is 10/10! Would buy! ❤
Graham is a masterful woodworker. Alexandra envisions wonderful ideas and Graham brings them to life. You make a great team. Your whole group is very talented.
The plate holder!!!!! Graham are you kidding me????? I'm obsessed
I absolutely adore this kitchen makeover! It's like a cottage dream, everything is just so darned cute, but useful too. And yes, the mid-week video of the makeover of the hutch is a fantastic idea and I'd love to see more of them!
This is so cute! The one extra thing I wish y'all had done is put in a new faucet. You could have pretty inexpensively added function and beauty there.
Im a sucker for English French cottage and scallops just wow That Graham is such a talent addition to your talent and the team.
I desperately wanted those cabinets to be sage green, but still a beautiful makeover!
Loveee the extra DIY video!! Would love more of them :)
Over the Top Cottage style kitchen!!!🐝🌼🌻
Great team work!🫶🏻🫶🏻
You delivered her dream!
So much more room it looks bigger now and I don’t think you really took anything out of the kitchen that you didn’t put back in so very well designed and yes, just adorable! So glad you didn’t cover up the tile because it goes really good with your design!❤❤
Graham is just the cutest and most clever young man.
Really cute but not sure why they didn't improve the pantry shelving, nothing fancy just basic improvement. I guess I'm just thinking practicality. 🐝
love the cabinet paint colour, it's like a dusty lavender! those gingham curtains and the ceiling light are also so perfect for the space!! 🥰😍I also love that scalloped plate holder and the thrifted pieces! amazing job team AG!
I would have painted the indents on the cabinets the green so it pulls the color to the other side.
Re: light fixture - love the woven design... maybe Graham could have made a ceiling medallion out of left over thin plywood (scalloped? Star-shaped?) and caulked to ceiling. Or, painted out the electrical plate so it blends into ceiling.
L❤ve it!! Graham's face 18:48 😂
Beautiful makeover! One thing that could be done is change the swing of the refrigerator doors. Very easy to do. 🩵🦋
Alexandra and Graham , I love the work you are doing together you are really changing space and happy lives you both are good in what you do . I agree that Graham sale the dish rack and all his ideas in the side for him sell . Love you guys , I’m 66 yr and I wash you every they know 🫶🏼florida
Oh gosh this makeover is so incredible and I also really love the color you chose. That cabinet looking so vintage is wonderful and fits that space perfectly. I also love the door you found and painted to cover that pantry and make it look so much better. This whole kitchen makeover is wonderful, and once again both you and Graham are so amazing in all you do, this video was so so much fun to watch, have a beautiful weekend and bless you for being so incredible, sending love and hugs, bye! 😍🤗🌸🌺🌹🌼💜💜💜
Oh I adore this makeover!!😍 I’m so glad you kept the backsplash tiles, those are darling!
My heart skipped a beat I thought graham wasn’t there ❤❤❤❤
Looooove this kitchen style and I didn't think I did! Bravo Alexandra and team!!!!!
This kitchen turned out so cute!
Looks beautiful and functional. Have y’all ever used an old screen door as a door to a pantry? One of my favorite things.
