Yeah, even if the new ones have some storage, with the round shape you can't store documents as well. But that's so much less important than how lovely the room is in general.
I agree. When I saw the tables I was like that’s not what she asked for. Am old wood vintage filing cabinet would’ve been better with drawers and somewhere for papers

I had to laugh when Graham said y'all needed lots of soaps! As a Grandma, I can concur. I actually have 2 large dresser drawers of soaps.....all beautifully scented! LOVE MY SOAP!!! 💖💖💖
Pelmets traditionally seal the gaps around the top of the curtain rail, saving on heating and cooling. I am always surprised by the flimsy curtains and rails in the cool climate you live in. Here in my semi tropics we have dispensed with pelmets by running a track on the ceiling and the fittings on the curtains face upwards with a disguising pleating. We have two tracks per window one curtain is a fine linen for light but heat protection and the next is more heavily lined to block the light and keep the cool inside. Glad to see a pelmet. Love a great fan !!
I love learning the history behind mundane objects like this! It's like how Victorian "egg" chairs helped keep a little of a person's heat around them.
This makeover is magical and I’m obsessed with how it turned out, but I would love to see y’all thrift more. Of all the rooms you’ve done, this one would have been PERFECT for thrifted things and I think the second hand piece would have added to the cozy nature, pieces that have history and stories. Home Sense has great pieces and I understand the need for it, when you’re looking for specific things, but the knick knacks and styling pieces especially I would love to see more thrifting. The adventure of the hunt and the treasures you can find, plus giving things a new life. Like, the thrifted mirror at the end was one of my favorite pieces of the whole room.
Looooooved the end result of this makeover! Everything just goes so well together. Y’all absolutely nailed the “beachy babushka bungalow” look in the room. Congrats on the new space, Niamh!
My girlfriend is a designer and loves William Morris so much that she got WM florals as full sleeves (tattoos). Gorgeous on her arms, gorgeous on those walls! 🩷
It looks like Graham wisely left the Barbie artwork at the store but it was sweet of him to think of getting something for James. I love that Team AG is such a little family. This is a beautiful bedroom and your thrifted finds - artwork, free-standing mirror and the green dresser fit this decor style perfectly. I’m not sure that using all new pieces would work for granny chic. I literally laughed out loud when Graham suggested getting “lots of soaps” for a granny-inspired room! He’s actually not wrong! My Nan’s bedroom always carried the scent of Jergen’s hand cream and lavender. I love that you included “Little Women” on the marble ledge. 🥰
This looks great. I have a suggestion- since you already have the traditional palmet (?) adding a knob/glass/iron tie back for the curtains would be nice too
The French Provincial mirror is absolutely gorgeous! My bedroom has my mother's 1960s French Provincial bed suite and I would definitely visit and take the mirror home with me. A little tip: the closet door pulls are upside down. The pull should be hanging down. This makeover isanother great. Happy 2024
Love this room. I am a recent widow and decided to go super girly in my bedroom for the new year. Hard to move forward but redoing my bedroom is giving me some joy! So this video came out at the right time for me. Love the overalls where did you get them?
I’m so sorry for your loss and hope time brings healing. My dad lived with us after my mom died. After his death, his empty room just added to our sense of loss. We repurposed it into a craft room and so every time I work in there I think about learning to do projects from my mom and learning how to laugh at life from my dad. I hope your renovation project also brings you comfort.
Sending you a big hug, little lady. Proud of you for taking steps to move forward in your life in the midst of your grieving. Keep looking for joy in small moments. It’s still there and will find you.
Alexandra you are so versatile. I see so many people stick to one design style, but you excel at each and every style you tackle. You are amazing! You deserve your own tv show
ily Alexandra, but if I had told you how important the storage in my 3-drawer bedside table is and you replaced it with essentially an empty box, I would be so unhappy lol
Maybe she put the old night table in the closet.... that's what I would have done....my only complaint if you want to call it that, is I would have trimmed the marble piece under the window...it made the curtains stick out too much....but the idea of the piece is FABULOUS!!
I'm sort of thinking if I had all my documents ready to run out, I'd have them in a container inside the nightstand ready to grab & go so that would fit inside that huge space along with other bits & pieces to keep out of sight.
Our pelmets have that same swooped detailing but are wood. They work as room darkeners. When you have darkening curtains without pelmets, the light from outside still shines up on the ceiling. I didn't know they had a name though, so cool!
😊Sounds sweet. FYI that shape is called "scalloped." Some small cabin/cottage style houses in LA built in 1950s had wood scalloped accents in the kitchen🤍. Thought it was charming, but later homeowners were quick to tear them out😂. Liked the pelmet in the woven basket material here. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
My favorite makeover ever. Raised on the coast in California, maximalist, grandmother here loving how you captured my heart. Love your work. Hated the non matching lights UNTIL you changed the shade. You nailed it.
I absolutely love her makeover. You did an amazing job AG Team. Ok - Home Sense shopping with Graham and Alana was the best. I love seeing friends faces when you take them to a home decor place like this. Graham did not disappoint. Love this makeover... like really love
LOL! The whole time I thought you were saying "helmet" until you put the word "pelmet" up on the screen. I had to look that up because I never heard that before. I kept saying it's a valance. When I looked up "pelmet" I found that it is the British word for "valance." Thanks for expanding my vocabulary! 🙂😊😉
I was thinking "valance", too. Years ago, people used to make them from 1/4" plywood cut with decorative bottom edges. Something a Grandma would remember :)
I’ve been watching you from the beginning. My favourite thing is that you haven’t changed. You’ve not let anything go to your head with all your success. Cheers and have an awsome day xx PS does Graham have a single brother who lives on Vancouver Island 😳 just asking 😂

Yay, Niamh! 🙌 I’m up earlier than I intended to be but that means I get to dive into this makeover sooner than later. Hecking hyped to see this bedroom transformation for Niamh’s bedroom. Happy AG Saturday, folks!
I liked this makeover very much. The wallpaper and artwork go so well with the bed frame and tables. The only thing that I thought needed some change were the closet doors. Maybe a different color.
The wicker helmet (?) Over the window is new to me. Very good! But then I am a real fan if woven materials. The colors are so comfy & pretty. Anotger winner!
Your design senses really kicked in with the window treatment, marble shelf, lamps and shades. Very French without compromising function. She looked so happy with the results! A million years ago, with 0 budget I made pelmuts out of cardboard and Waverly wallpaper scraps for my windows. Cheap and lightweight and covered the mess of previous tenants nails and screws.
I love this style and the art deco doorknob is to die for. I love all the elements and textures and patterns. My dream is these elements in darker, rich tones for my dream cottage/cabinpunk style
i am obsessed with everything you do, my God! So beautiful! Some designers are only able to decorate in one style, but you are able to make everything work, in any style you are working with. This is amazing!
Great. Love your makeovers for every one you've completed. You have a great staff/crew. Y'all work so well together. Looking forward to seeing this makeover
I grew up with pelmet in my parents home. My mom live them so much that when they downsized she brought them with her! They were made of wood. It’s so grandma.
Fabulous! If anything, maybe attach the marble to the radiator or wall somehow? Marble can crack if it is bumped off. You could use l-brackets upside down to hold the marble in place without drilling in it. Or maybe use classy metal ties? They come in brass, silver and gold looks and literally are cut to the length you need at the hardware store. You can make cute bowes in the front of the marble or on top, or hide the twist/bows underneath - Heat won’t bother them.
Oh, I'm so envious of Niamh! I love the vibes and now I need to do my bedroom! I've got oil paintings that my paternal G'ma painted sitting on my floor because I thought I needed to hang everything a "certain" way. I've got some ideas for a gallery wall now in my livingroom and bedroom.
The ecclectic approach to this room I love. The vignette of gallery wall, bedhead, wallpaper is just gorgeous. Lost a bit of storage capacity but I think that compromise was worth it.
I think it would be so cool if team AG & Mr. Kate did a collaboration. Mr. Kate has so many amazing wallpapers in their collection & also awesome furniture. It would be fun to see what Alexandra would choose & how she’d decorate with it! This was a beautiful makeover! I absolutely love the wallpaper!

Something about this makeover is so satisfying, like getting a soothing sweet tea time! While the picture wall was appropriate I personally wound have picked lighter colors except for the tree painting, which I loved! The wallpaper was Devine!
Beautiful!I would've changed the light switch cap too just for added detail...you found so many thrifted vintage looking things, the side table lamps/lamp shades, the mirrors..the art...and you changed the door knobs on the dresser and revived the actuall door knob on the room door...a light switch cap in the same style would've 100% completed the look. But beautiful none the less. You guys started 2024 with a Bang.👏
I love this makeover! When I moved into my house there was a wooden pelmet with trim detail over a sliding door. The door was moved and altered to be hinged and used on a newly created powder room and I wanted to repurpose the pelmet. I realised it was just a little wider than the kitchen window and as I was going for a 50’s style kitchen with curtains I put up the pelmet to cover the curtain track and it looks great.
That wallpaper is gorgeous. Wish I could do my walls, but the government won't let me. It was fun to see Graham's first visit to Home Sense. You guys are fun to watch, makes an older lady feel so young and vibrant. Love your book.

While the OP doesn’t specify the exact situation they are in that prevents wallpaper, a trick I’ve used in situations where I cannot paint or wallpaper is to use foam core. Foam core can be attached to the wall with Command Strips. You can paint, wallpaper, and glue fabric to the foam core. It’s great for dorm rooms which often come with rules preventing any alteration of the walls.

My girlfriend is a designer and loves William Morris so much that she got WM florals as full sleeves (tattoos). Gorgeous on her arms, gorgeous on those walls! 🩷
Wonderful makeover, also love the fact that she got some of her dads work up on the walls. Makes it super special for her.
This is the exact opposite of my style, but I absolutely love it for her. You totally nailed it. Great job!
Happy 2024
Nowadays it's trending to hang pulls anyway u want...I personally like it the way she did it.
I thought the same thing about the pulls!
Love the blue, adore the wallpaper, the pelmet is outstanding. Not sure how I feel about the pink trim. The room is very pretty.🩵
I'm so sorry for your loss!♡
Wonderful to hear that you keep yourself busy and find happy moments in decorating ♡
Sending you a big hug, little lady. Proud of you for taking steps to move forward in your life in the midst of your grieving. Keep looking for joy in small moments. It’s still there and will find you.
I understand the feeling, as I lost my husband of 60 years in December. God bless. 💖

I agree but that is a small blip in a beautiful, amazing makeover.
@@trixie1556not exactly a small blip when she made it extremely clear how important and non negotiable it was specifically
How much does she charge to do a make over
Our pelmets have that same swooped detailing but are wood.

Alexandra! Love how you can take a style different from your own and adopt it to what your client wanted 💗💗💗
I absolutely love her dads artworks. Everything else is beautiful too but loved it when she said "the sneak."
LOVE! Just a small wish .. that you painted the closet doors to match the wall color... 😊
Love William Morris patterns. So beautiful
love the strawberry thief from William Morris it inspired a piece I did in art class for high school ❤🍓🪶 Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
I adore William Morris patterns. Looks beautiful!
I love that Graham just started finding items to gift for everyone.
Such a sweet soul 😂🥹
the wallpaper is giving fallopian tube realness and I'm obsessed with it.
A valance is the fabric version, but it won't have upper material to keep in heat and keep out light.
I’ve been watching you from the beginning. My favourite thing is that you haven’t changed. You’ve not let anything go to your head with all your success. Cheers and have an awsome day xx PS does Graham have a single brother who lives on Vancouver Island 😳 just asking 😂
I love the expression on the room owner’s face every reveal. It makes me happy by just watching them being so happy!
Nailed that wallpaper wall. It makes the whole room sing.
Another great makeover. Cozy and eclectic. Love that there are paintings from Niamh's Dad. They are great. Graham's and Alana's shopping gave me smiles.
Yay, Niamh! 🙌 I’m up earlier than I intended to be but that means I get to dive into this makeover sooner than later. Hecking hyped to see this bedroom transformation for Niamh’s bedroom. Happy AG Saturday, folks!
Enjoy the vid, Michael!!!!

I liked this makeover very much. The wallpaper and artwork go so well with the bed frame and tables. The only thing that I thought needed some change were the closet doors. Maybe a different color.
I love that you can design in different styles. This room is so cute. It's like something out of a dollhouse.
Shopping with Graham! 😂
I love this space ❤ It is so fun and cozy.
I honestly did not expect all those colours and patterns to complement each other so well ❤ so gorgeous as usual Alexandra !
Also, Carla demonstrates her genius again with closing shots. You too, James 🎉
So EXTREMELY homey, cozy, warm and BEAUTIFUL!!!❤
I absolutely love love love this makeover Alexandra. I so agree with this is your best work.
Lovely grandma chic bedroom. Love the result !! A little sugestion maybe you can wider the curtain rod. So the curtain will looks beautiful.
Great. Love your makeovers for every one you've completed. You have a great staff/crew. Y'all work so well together. Looking forward to seeing this makeover
I grew up with pelmet in my parents home. My mom live them so much that when they downsized she brought them with her! They were made of wood. It’s so grandma.
Love how all the different elements worked together in this room - I'm a sucker for eclectic styles.
I love how sweet and minimal her requests are ❤
Omg, everything about this is so cosy and whimsical 😻🤌🏾❤
🐼 Big Panda Bear Hugs from a 70 yr old grandma in Texas, USA and by the way l'm subscribed and l hit Like. 🐼 ❤ 🎀 👍
Graham finding pieces to gift everyone in HomeSense is so me 😂
P.S. Love how Niamh can now grab ✨AeSTheTiC✨bedside tables in an emergency
Edit: It's only been 42 minutes guys. 10 likes is more than I've ever had 🥳
this was definitely one of the 'trust the process' makeovers for me. i think the strong white video lights were throwing me off the entire time, which made the reveal so much better. lighting is truly the key
Always love a cozy makeover!
Tears! Every. Single. Time!!
Very nice! Love the mirror - gorgeous!! Her dad's art - sweet! Still getting used to the 2 different lamps; it doesn't work with OCD!!!
Graham - needs more trips to HomeSense! Probably a good distraction from all the detailing work he does - need a break once-in-a-while.
Have a blessed day!!
xxoo
Not my style, but you did it so well I'm converted. I love William Morris, so the wallpaper was a total win. And Graham is so talented and quirky, I just love him to bits ❣
Alexandra you guys are the DREAM TEAM of DECOR & STYLE! Everything you did in this room is gorgeous.
Love William Morris! Great job team AG. I am getting small country manor vibes from this. Love it.
This is my FAVORITE bedroom makeover to date. Love love love it!!!!!!!
The government wont let you?
@@annie-pierlagueux7479government offers senior citizens and low income families apartments at a VERY reduced price, but cannot change/paint, hang pictures or change flooring, other than a throw rug. Very sterile. Suppose to help on cost when people move out.
Even the peel and stick? You have to test a little spot for damage first.
Alexandra used painter's tape all over the wall, then used peel 'n stick wallpaper. There are ways. Google to get ideas - good luck!
THIS IS THE BEST MAKE OVER!!! what a year ender!!!! ❤❤ And Graham being a kid who finds stuff to gift people is such a vibe! More of Dave too! Alana is sooo pretty!! ENTIRE AG TEAM IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Great video! More studio fix videos, please!!
Coming soon!
'Coastal Grandma Style' a/k/a 'Modern Victorian'................love the wallpaper - the thrifted standing mirror pulls it all together for me. The extra touches like refinishing the doorknob backplate and marble on top of the radiator are like frosting on a cake. P.S. I love your socks with those loafters - that's definitely a trend!
Anne of Green Gables would loooove this room
Love Grahams homesense sidequests lol. Absolutely me when I go literally anywhere
I am so in love with the contrast between the common space and the bedroom. At some point in my lifetime, I want to re-create Lady Mary Crawley's red bedroom with a more modern eclectic, (read minimalist being a maximalist) and colorful living room.
Love this makeover!💃🏻
Those side tables from Article stole my heart. Too bad I live in Greece and the can't ship. One of your best makeovers. I spend my free time on your videos Alexandra. They bring me joy. Great team!!!
I love everything about this makeover. Her inspiration photos is exactly what she her room looks like. Its beautiful unique and cozy. Great job guys thanks Alexandra
YES! Total fan of William Morris!
Great makeover!!!❤️❤️ I want to do this style also and I'm searching for inspo and you uploaded this, thanks 😍😍 the only thing I would do is to wallpaper all the walls and wallpaper the closet door to look like wood or something because they seem too modern compared to the rest of the space 😊 all in all great makeover, cant wait to see more!!❤❤❤
Graham is such a gem. ❤
I am going to take so many notes from this video to decorate my new apartment!! This bedroom is so lovely it is everything I've been wanting for myself, thank you team ag for a great makeover as always
Farrow and Ball’s Nancy’s Blushes always makes me smile! 💖
Looks great! Another team AG success. Graham's first trip to Homesense 🤣 loved it! I know you thrifted but I'm wondering why you didn't paint and reuse her original dresser?
One of my favorites. And it is not even my style. It really came out great together, and the pink trim made it totally Niamh, with a link to her livingroom make-over. Loved the HomeSense visit by Alana and Graham. Special compliment for Alexandra's intro's. Allways entertaining and to the point, never useless and ongoing chatting. Just what you need to get in the mood. Great start of 2024!!
This might be my absolute favorite makeover you've ever done. The gallery wall with the headboard, wallpaper, art, and lamps is just - *chef's kiss*
