I agree totally. My home is eclectic…..it’s a reflection of me, things I love. My daughter is very critical of my taste, her beautiful home is 100% coastal beach. It’s lovely, it’s her taste. I like lots of different beautiful things in the traditional style. The apartment in the video is fabulous.

Make sure you put L brackets on that tall bookshelf….my son pulled mine over on him when he was 2…..I thought he was dead….he also took all of the pictures off the wall near and over his crib and destroyed them….so make sure there is no glass in the frames….boys are terrible as toddlers….but are so loving as they grow up….hugs carolyn from Columbus GA

I love every inch of this apartment. I’ve watched so many episodes of Homeworthy, showing huge, multimillion dollar estate homes. They don’t even come close to the character of what many millennials can do in a small space.
I am a homeowner but still enjoy looking at these wonderful and cozy apartments. U can just feel the love. I have no interest at all in viewing the expensive homes with their fancy paintings. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

The space had great bones , with the step down living room.. the arches into the spaces and rooms ... but you had the vision! I feel your home is unique because of your use of color, like the dining wall, dark beautiful cabinets and all the trimwork. The fireplace was icing on the cake. I could see some white birch logs just tied and set on the hearth in front for texture. YOu have truley made a one of a kind nest for your family in the middle of NYC! And you with Pearl was so precious. Your eyes just lit up when you were hugging him.

When I tell you I lived in an apartment growing up in Brooklyn with a similar mantle and now I wish I would have appreciated it more as a kid. This was when Williamsburg was not a popular area, in fact it was considered a bad area to live in. Lived right on Bedford Ave.
Do not destroy the shoe cabinet with a curtain…you can fix the door. No matter how many pieces. This apartment is so classic! When you added those subtle touches such as moldings, paint color, ceiling wallpaper, the fireplace mantel, so many parts to bring this together. Excellent!
