I feel like with the new cabinet colours and the back splash, the counter tops themselves went from bläh to really beautiful because suddenly the dark contrast fit really well and wasn't too stark anymore. The space is so much warmer and immediately looks more homey! I really love what you did here!!
So last weekend I put up a “simple” peel and stick tile behind my stove. No problem I thought. It’s only two panels, I’m a rockstar, who needs two people? Not me! Ya well, cut to an hour and a half later, there’s wasted peel and stick wall paper everywhere-tossed aside in frustration because it kept sticking to itself and shifting as I tried to put it up alone-and I’m trying to ignore the creases and bubbles I just can’t get out.
The Dish Rack is freaking awesome! I’ve never seen a slinky-styled dish rack. Very cool. The half circle drawer fixtures were perfect. The rugs was lovely.
Another fabulous makeover. You are such a natural. The backsplash is an unexpected element that makes this makeover stand out above the cookie cutter kitchens I see online.
I gotta admit that when Alex said, "...it's gonna tie this whole room together..." I was totally expecting her to say, say it with me everybody, "a beautiful light fixture." Am I right??? Also, those Quadrostyle stickers are total , gorgeous, game changers!!!
Excellent work, Alexandra-and the AG Team. I did cry, your make-over transformations can have such an emotional effect. They make you realise that it's not just about a lick of paint. Well done, girly. 🤗🤗🤗
Stunning, Gater. This is one of your best ever. And yes, I’d like to see an appliance paint segment. I plan to replace my fridge at some point next year, but in the meantime she just needs a little cosmetic love.
That door in the top left corner that was "wonkey" it made me so happy seeing it fixed and straight. Then that gorgeous sage green. #IKEA work with her again!!!
Gorgeous! The only things I’d do if it were mine would be to change out the tap on the sink and add in LED light strip under the upper cabinets but otherwise this is perfect! Great job!
I love everything you do! I am very much trying to be a minimalist. My daughter taught me a trick. She found a cake pan where the base was similar size as my toaster. A toaster you really only use it maybe 10 minutes a day. If you use it every day. So when I’m not using it it’s slips in underneath in a cabinet. Real estate on the countertop has been rescued. Please stay safe everyone and God bless you and yours.🌹♥️🇺🇸
Another rental friendly kitchen hack that I have done is to find cabinet handles that have a bit of width to them, and then to use a Command strip that are made for hanging posters to adhere them to the cabinet. It makes SUCH a difference and is completely removable!
I loved the splashback even tho I first thought it would clash with the sage cupboards. I'd add a small table n chairs / stools on right b/n window and door so I could spend more time in there. I cover my fridge with photos n trashy holiiday magnets ☺ Stay safe and best wishes from Australia 🤗
Love the reno. Such a huge change for a small cost. I think the owner now needs to patch and paint the wooden wall boarding just to finish it off. Good job Alexandra!
I love it just as much as the home owner lol! The color is amazing and it just looks so good. The knobs on the cabinets give it a high end touch. You did your thing 👏
This is beautiful Alexandra! So timely because I am in the middle of deciding what to do on my kitchen reno. My landlord is okay with us doing whatever but this vibes and color ... everything is exactlyyyy what I want our kitchen to look like. Thank you!!!!! Good job
It looks older than before, very retro, I like the before and gives very good start for something modern ..but most important that you both re happy with
for when I had my unsightly rental appliances (I own now), I would put a contact paper type skin over it and paint it... that way I could just pull it off when I moved, no muss no fuss while allowing me to make it the perfect color I wanted. if the water control panel was black, I would go with darker colors and if it was white, then something more pastel or neutral
Nice job! If you ever want to the the dishwasher hack in the future, please note that you can get flat, cuttable magnet sheets that are strong and wouldn't be seen under the towel bar.
I LOVE IT!!! The sage color and that rug! I was just imagining a large rug that would look like that one the other day! The color and pattern of the backsplash looks great with the green. I´ve gotta look into that paper since soon I will be taking off the simple tile edging I have in my kitchen. I always wanted to be an interior designer and since owning my home I´ve been a no-nail-nancy because I don´t want a bunch of holes in the drywall-Only one of 4 paint colors I´ve used I actually like and the idea of trying to paint again wears me out. A few years have gone by where I gave up on my house and now I´m reclaiming it-decluttering and making sure this year to go ALL out decorating for the holidays and since I worked on my jungle themed living room I feel major desire to put everything I have into getting this house on point. You inspire me so much and have shown me to calm down-the best stuff to patch holes, to paint and paint again, and that its ok and achievable. Looking forward to many more episodes. Oh! I want to admit-I bought one of those shapely baskets to put a plant in and I call it my Alexandra Gater basket because I don´t think I had seen one until your show. Much appreciation from Texas.
Quaint little dish drainer, nice. Take note if the new shelves are up too high. Individually the colors and items in the kitchen don't seem like much but all together, they rock!
Wasn't sure if the paint and the back splash would work together, but it TOTALLY does! Good call to paint top and bottom that GORGEOUS green! Amazing makeover as always Alexandra!
I had a black and white checked floor I I painted the walls pink and a little darker pink on the fridge. Totally made it look vintage 50’s. I’m planning on painting my other kitchen fridge gold dots with gold accents all around.
I used peel and stick chalkboard paper on my fridge. Buy a bunch of chalkbaord markers and you have a seasonal 'menu', ongoing grocery list, fun sayings (nice buns is a our-kitchen classic).
Loved you taking us with you to shop for paint color. Also really enjoyed the extra clips of you not in “camera mode”. Your personality was on display and so FUN! You are aborbs :-)
Absolutely love the colours and the idea of choosing pretty things that are out on display, like the dishdrainer. But the klutz that I am, I would be running into the towel rail on the dishwasher, and would choose peel and stick vinyl to cover it.
You are genius! Love rental friendly and small spaces AND that you do so much on a budget AND DIY. I also really appreciate the great editing of your videos; no rambling but include fun behind the scenes.
You can get this roll of silver paper that makes your appliance look like stainless steel. You just stick it on and smooth it out like stick on wallpaper. Very easy!
Bravo Team AG! I love, love, love this kitchen. It's so cute without being twee. The only thing I would change for my personal taste would be the framed picture above the sink, but the rest it just gorgeous.
I do love this make over, it’s gorgeous! - I wish that the editing kept to real life color instead of adding that pink hue to it. Look at the white balance for the white kitchen that made it whiter, and then the red tone that make the new kitchen warmer.
❤❤❤ this kitchen! You’ve used my favorite colors here. When I finally give my kitchen it’s very much needed makeover, I will definitely be using some of your ideas.😉
I think you could move the cereals to the down shelf so that she can access it easily moving it to the upper shelf makes it more difficult.... overall the makeover is awesome... you nailed it
My apartment the washer and dryer are in the kitchen next to the fridge and stove which are BOTH black so I painted my washer and dryer black and it's so sleek and matches I love it 🖤
For the dishwasher, could you paint a white peel-and-stick wallpaper the same colour as the cabinets and place it over the stainless steel to hide it? Wouldn't solve the white plastic on the appliance but would make the visual bulk of it meld in with the newly-painted cabinets!
Alexandra, you did so good!! I love the vibe of your recent videos! I feel like you are really connecting, and your genuine personality is shining through! Thanks for the great content and home decor inspo :)
I think this might be one of my favorite makeovers you’ve ever done, and I might just copy 90% of it 😂
Juliet Laney honestly, I wish I could do this in my rental...I’m literally going to do my daughter’s play kitchen area exactly like this! 🤣
What’s the 10% you’re not going to do? Or didn’t do
The combo of pastel colors is giving me a true, vintage, 1950s vibe 😍
I was thinking the same thing!
I was thinking something similar, it comes off as late 60s, very art deco to me.
The reveal REALLY showed the impact the paint and backslash made. Amazing!
Where can I get the dish mat?
I'm 70 years old and I love your videos. I will continue to watch you. So many great ideas.
I feel like with the new cabinet colours and the back splash, the counter tops themselves went from bläh to really beautiful because suddenly the dark contrast fit really well and wasn't too stark anymore. The space is so much warmer and immediately looks more homey! I really love what you did here!!
Every time I hear, “You definitely need two people,” I think, “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.” 🤣
PS that dishwasher hack is really clever!
maroxa101 Yep, I live alone and am usually too impatient to wait for help!
Loved her reaction, she physically had to back up 🤣 also love how you mix patterns and styles. Somehow it always works 🤷🏽♀️
The Dish Rack is freaking awesome! I’ve never seen a slinky-styled dish rack. Very cool.
The half circle drawer fixtures were perfect.
The rugs was lovely.
I just signed my first ever rental contract, it's a small farm. Let me tell you i'm about to binge watch this channel.
Her reaction is everything
Her reaction made me smile from ear to ear! Literally looks like a Pinterest inspo kitchen. Alexandra, you nailed it like always! ♥️
i don't think i have ever seen a more calming kitchen before? this rocks, love it, all the amazing patterns just work well together. so awesome! ( ;
Another fabulous makeover. You are such a natural. The backsplash is an unexpected element that makes this makeover stand out above the cookie cutter kitchens I see online.
You outdid yourself with this one Alexandra. Loooove this transformation!!!!
I gotta admit that when Alex said, "...it's gonna tie this whole room together..." I was totally expecting her to say, say it with me everybody, "a beautiful light fixture." Am I right??? Also, those Quadrostyle stickers are total , gorgeous, game changers!!!
Yeah I expected the IKEA light. 😆
I knew it's a rug😂
Yep, the rattan ikea light ... and then if you said anything negative about it, you would have been vilified- ha. The rug is great.
No, I was getting strong Big Lebowski vibes! 🤣
I was a little nervous when I saw that sort of pink colored Art Deco-ish backsplash with the green cabinets, but it worked.
Her reaction was THE BEST! ☺️🥰
I've been binge-watching these videos and this is absolutely my favorite.
This is truly awesome - transformed into a cozy, warm, yet very stylish room. The renter's reaction is great!
Liked this kitchen makeover as well. Highlights IMO: Cutting Board, Paper Towel Holder,
Drawer Pulls, Dish Scrubber, Utensils, Orange Bowls, Pink Bowls, Pitcher/Utensil Holder, Jars, Toaster, Dish Drainer, Dish Tray, Amber Bottle, Towel Bar.
What a transformation! I love everything from all the clever hacks down to the color scheme! Great job once again Alexandra!
Excellent work, Alexandra-and the AG Team. I did cry, your make-over transformations can have such an emotional effect. They make you realise that it's not just about a lick of paint. Well done, girly. 🤗🤗🤗
Love that 50's vibe!!
That will always be the best rental kitchen upgrade ever
Deserty Arizona Vibe is a thing! I live in the desert part time and I def used some of your design inspiration and the desert vibes to decorate!
This is one of my favorite makeovers so far! I love those colors! Everything is too cute!
Total agree with u 🤩
Would never have thought of combining those two colours, yet they look great together.
Gorgeous! The only things I’d do if it were mine would be to change out the tap on the sink and add in LED light strip under the upper cabinets but otherwise this is perfect! Great job!
I love everything you do!

I love kitchen makeovers they're my favorite!!!!!
Mine too!
One of my fave makeover. Vintage but modern, warm, fancy. Absolute fan of the combo pink+green
I wish you would do a TRUE renter friendly kitchen makeover. I don’t know any landlord as nice as the ones you’ve experienced!
Another rental friendly kitchen hack that I have done is to find cabinet handles that have a bit of width to them, and then to use a Command strip that are made for hanging posters to adhere them to the cabinet. It makes SUCH a difference and is completely removable!

Love the reno. Such a huge change for a small cost. I think the owner now needs to patch and paint the wooden wall boarding just to finish it off. Good job Alexandra!
Oh and it also gives me the confidence that my choice of green for my kitchen reno was a good idea. So thanks for that 😁😁😁
I love it just as much as the home owner lol! The color is amazing and it just looks so good. The knobs on the cabinets give it a high end touch. You did your thing 👏
I don’t fix them my unsightly appliances. I just love with it 😂
Would love a video on touching up/painting them
This is beautiful Alexandra! So timely because I am in the middle of deciding what to do on my kitchen reno. My landlord is okay with us doing whatever but this vibes and color ... everything is exactlyyyy what I want our kitchen to look like. Thank you!!!!! Good job
Hysterical..."I don't know if that's a thing. I just made it up." Nice makeover.
It looks older than before, very retro, I like the before and gives very good start for something modern ..but most important that you both re happy with

Take a shot every time she says "team A.G." 🥂😂
Loved how it turned out! 🌺
Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed how hard she was plugging "Team A G".... Came off a little unnatural.
This is super cute. Super duper cute!
I love how you left in the shots of your helpers--great leaders give plentiful credit to those they lead! Lovely makeover too!
This one and the "Patty Smith" studio are my favourite so far, really great job!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I LOVE IT!!! The sage color and that rug! I was just imagining a large rug that would look like that one the other day! The color and pattern of the backsplash looks great with the green. “Arizona desserty vibe” is a thing. I love that you said that.😂😂😂
I had a black and white checked floor I I painted the walls pink and a little darker pink on the fridge. Totally made it look vintage 50’s. I’m planning on painting my other kitchen fridge gold dots with gold accents all around.
Like she said this is the best one I have seen yet.
Love the sage green cabinets, the backsplash, rug, shelves, everything! Amazing job! :)
Don't get me wrong, the kitchen is absolutely gorgeous, but her reaction is the best part for me 🥰
The best thing I have seen from you to date! No pompoms and no wicker ikea pendant light.
Are used chalkboard paint for our laundry room fridge… Super easy and super fun
We also used it for a backsplash briefly in the kids playroom
Very vintage Arizona vibe colors!!! I love this!!
The paint color on the cabinets was my favorite. Great Job Alexandra!
Yes please to the appliance paint video!😊Beautiful makeover!
The kitchen turned out adorable. I had my doubts that you could turn that kitchen into anything good.
This is probably my favorite makeover as of late! Turned out so good! It was cold and bland but now it's so warm and cozy!
That looks like my mom’s kitchen in 1981! Same ‘tile’ & cabinet color ~ wow
Her reaction is the cutest thing ever! The transformation is amazing 😍
My name is Orlagh too! Hi :)
Absolutely love the colours and the idea of choosing pretty things that are out on display, like the dishdrainer. But the klutz that I am, I would be running into the towel rail on the dishwasher, and would choose peel and stick vinyl to cover it.
One of your best transformations! Love it!!
I love the dishwasher coverup. That is really clever!
You are genius! Love rental friendly and small spaces AND that you do so much on a budget AND DIY. I also really appreciate the great editing of your videos; no rambling but include fun behind the scenes.
Amazing... but kinda curious as no shots of fridge and just a glimpse of stove.
Alexandra, this is my favourite kitchen !!! Geez wheez it's purdy !!! ♥️♥️♥️
Alexandra, you are such a sweet breath of fresh air, and your designs are terrific! 😊
45 years ago my Mother wallpapered her vintage pink GE refrigerator (it was square, not rounded)!!
I think the landlord will be happy, too 😎🥰👍🏻
So full of hope. Thank you. Great kitchen to be in
You can get this roll of silver paper that makes your appliance look like stainless steel. You just stick it on and smooth it out like stick on wallpaper. Very easy!
So pretty. Very, very nice makeover. Keep seeing that hole in the wall though. Filling that is such an ez fix.
Bravo Team AG! I love, love, love this kitchen. It's so cute without being twee. The only thing I would change for my personal taste would be the framed picture above the sink, but the rest it just gorgeous.
Arizonaian here! I can confirm that backsplash is our vibe 😂
What a great apartment! For a rental it has a nice kitchen. Very nice upgrade.
LOVE!!! Beautiful and in keeping with her home. Sarah's reaction was lovely. I bet this is her new favourite room in her home! Stunning work Team AG.
As an Arizonan, I love how much Canadians love Arizona.
I do love this make over, it’s gorgeous! - I wish that the editing kept to real life color instead of adding that pink hue to it. Look at the white balance for the white kitchen that made it whiter, and then the red tone that make the new kitchen warmer.
Wow. I think it's the best transformation that you ever made 😍😍😍
❤❤❤ this kitchen! You’ve used my favorite colors here. When I finally give my kitchen it’s very much needed makeover, I will definitely be using some of your ideas.😉
Definitely do an appliance video. That would awwwwesome and I've been curious for months.
Fixing the left upper cabinet door alone made massive difference :D
You can also use the backsplash on the metallic part of the dishwasher.
It's an Alexandria Gater kitchen!!!! love !
At first I wasn't a fan of the "tile" but when you panned out and you can see the whole kitchen it looks AMAZING! Very well done as usual!
I think you could move the cereals to the down shelf so that she can access it easily moving it to the upper shelf makes it more difficult.... overall the makeover is awesome... you nailed it
Wow, the RETOR VIBES of this are too much!!! Love love love it!!!
Hi Alexandra I love what you doing make us very happy...watching you from Germany....BLESS you
My apartment the washer and dryer are in the kitchen next to the fridge and stove which are BOTH black so I painted my washer and dryer black and it's so sleek and matches I love it 🖤

Oh wow I really love this one! Btw I would really want to know more on covering up unsightly appliances 🤣
Your channel continues to be my favorite channel, ever!!! We renters need you.
Her reaction is everything. Such a wonderful transformation!
Alexandra, you did so good!! I love the vibe of your recent videos! I feel like you are really connecting, and your genuine personality is shining through! Thanks for the great content and home decor inspo :)
