I've got one of these babies and want to install a cold air intake. However, how does it increase performance or HPs by sucking in warm air from under the hood as opposed to one that draws in cooler air from under the engine? What performance increase did you notice?
Man I’m loving this content. As someone who’s saving for a 3000GT SL right now, your videos have been a huge help. Definitely earned a sub. Btw what trim is your 3000gt?
Aww amazing mate, glad to hear it and very much appreciate the support. Plenty more content to come on the 3000gt. Mine is the standard trim of 95 SL fwd auto. Have you driven one?
@@_ajdoyle_ aw man that’s so cool. And no I haven’t driven one. Right now I have celica GT 5spd. It’s my first car, but the 3000gt has always been my dream car.
I’ve been trying to do research on this for my car. The cone filter comes with a box to “block” off the rest of the hot air in the engine bay, but from what I’ve seen online of that specific kit, the box doesn’t appear to block off the hot air entirely, nor does it appear to properly direct the cooler air from where the stock air box gets it.
Although, there are cone filter kits that come with excellent boxes that do the job better. However, I think they’re all way pricier than just getting the k&n filter for the stock box.
Cheers mate, yea it's great for a daily. Just make it look good and run on point and move onto the next project. Ain't going to get much out of an SL engine so not going to drop a whole heap of cash into it. Loving your 94 Sl..👌
@@_ajdoyle_ yea let me see how much dropping a ton of money into an SL will net you lol. Already did a full engine build..Trying to get it dropped in tommorow.
@@az_3kgt714 nice... you going to stick a video up about it... look forward to seeing it if you do 😁... did you do anything crazy upgrade with the engine?
@@_ajdoyle_ yea..you could say that. lol lets see. 272 cams, BC springs, retainers, bronze valve guides, 3sx adjustable cam gears, Ported and polished heads, Ported polished upper and lower intake manifold, IMR intake manifold with a 90mm TB, +1mm ferrea intake and exhaust valves, Ross 12.5:1 pistons @ 92mm bore, BC H-bea,s rods, Fidanza aluminum flywheel, Italo grasso oil pump gears, Deatchewerks 550cc injectors, e85 fuel system components and -6an lines for fuel delivery. Thats just the engine. (edit: left shit out. Rvenge performance solid tensioner with all the timing system upgrades, GSC DSM big bore lifters , Spec stage 2 clutch from rvenge as well) Prolly other things i left out to..lol

@@omarawilson2853 nice... i was always a fan of the Celica GTS with Tsunami kit. You'll defo enjoy driving the 3000gt after the Celica.
So I actually have the same HPS for my stealth Rt. I'm curious what made you opt for using the stock box and not the cone filter
