I am AJ Doyle from Ireland but currently living in Toronto. Follow me and join me on my journey as I build and modify my dream cars and bikes.
I love all things motoring but have a passion for JDM cars and vintage motorcycles :)
I am by no means professionally trained when it comes to modifying but I'm happy to get stuck in and give anything a try and anything I can't do I'll be linking up with local shops to complete the work.
Just going to enjoy the process and hopefully bring my visions to life.
Hope you enjoy my channel.
Cheers

I could really use your help and advice. I have a 2000 1100 Aero, and cannot find a touring seat that fits it anywhere. Just wondering if any other model Shadow, Harley, VTX, Gold Wing seat can be modified to fit the Aero 1100? My wife wants to start riding with me and the stock seat just isn't good enough for two-up riding. Even If I had to modify the mounting brackets or something similar. I would really like a get Mustang to fit up on her. Much appreciated, thanks !!
I got the gen1 klr. The reason why i bought a gen1 klr is the fact that it can run without a battery. I wish it were points and not cdi. Points can be repaired on the bike any were any time and are cheap when you need to replace the points and condenser while a cdi or a ecu can not be repaired any were.
Does give the backend a much more modern look
I've got one of these babies and want to install a cold air intake. However, how does it increase performance or HPs by sucking in warm air from under the hood as opposed to one that draws in cooler air from under the engine? What performance increase did you notice?
Thanks for the shout out in you're video. I see your in Toronto. I'm in the Hamilton are. Let's get our 2 shadows together one day
What's with all the hand waving?
As a lot of guys comment there are better bikes out there, and they are right. My son had a 2007 Klr already and he wanted me to go with him to ride part of the Trans American Trail. So, I found one that a soldier based at Ft Sill in Oklahoma had for sale for $1,600 and decided to buy it from him. I didn’t want to spend a lot in the beginning because I never really wanted to road ride and thought I could probably get my money back easily enough if I sold it when we got back. Needless to say I still have it, and have put another 34,000 miles on it on dual sport trips over the last 6 years. Doing mods to it became a hobby of sorts, and by now I have pretty much done everything I have ever heard of that you can do to a Klr. All total I spent probably $2,500 or so on the mods, add that to the price of the bike, it comes to $4,100. If you divide that up its a little over 12 cents per mile, plus gas, food, etc. That’s pretty cheap entertainment if you ask me!
@@michaelladymon5143 amazing, thank you for sharing. I love my KLR and couldn't agree more with you 👌
Couldn’t have both?
This thing looks dope.
@swifaz cheers mate 👌
Super clean ✨

Nice bike own 2 of this model dont like the light you put on shame the factory not even in angle but you done a good job 😊😊😊
@c-31100 cheers, really appreciate the view.
5:54 Geez, this video is from 2 years ago, you say you got the brakes for $2950. I’m looking at the YSR website and the cheapest front kit is $2000 and rear is $1800, total of $3800. Bidenomics
Loving this car! The Kansei wheels match perfect. What are your tire specs? Those look awesome!

If you're gonna just talk - pan around the bike a bit....
@yomommaahotoo264 ok will do, cheers for the advice. I'll try do that next time 👌

Bike looks better than ever mate Consider a clip on windshield for such a long trip!
@ivanambroz368 yea came together nicely man. I'm considering doing a rally front fairing so that'll raise the windshield up as well.
ultra tasteful here matte black lookin' sharp

is that robo mod headlights?
@ethandrives no I didn't do the robo mod, I just used LED bulbs and changed for the glass headlights
I have 4 KLRs. One I raced it is the worlds fastest KLR. 128.89 MPH FIM world record for single cylinder under 750cc. I did the record in 2019 on the salt flats. The other KLR are just fun I have done 3000 mile trips and will run all day in the twisteys in the hill country of Texas. I own many other bikes but if I could only have one it would be my KLR
The KLR is an antiquated piece of S#!*. A glorified grocery getter at best, that is over hyped and NOT worth the status.. There are much better bikes for the money out there. My 05 is the worst motorcycle I have owned in my 50 years of motorcycling..
@spencervidal3168 yea I totally get what you mean... I think I'm just loving the nostalgia and the fact I've wanted one for years and allowing that to drive my love for the bike. Definitely better bikes out there alright
So many others owners claim it’s an amazing value and ultra reliable.
@TB7-X they are like tanks, pretty much go forever and can throw them on the ground and they'll still go forever... but it depends on what you want to use the bike for.... you'll never win a race with it but you'll climb a mountain easy 😆
@@_ajdoyle_ Wrong, they are total pieces of crap. Once you have reached the point of built in obsolescence you will spend a fortune trying to keep the turd on the road. There are MUCH BETTER bikes out there at a similar or better price point. THERE IS NO REASON TO EVEN CONSIDER THE KLR IN THIS DAY AND AGE!!!!
@@X-7-JAMES I'm betting they have limited experience in the segment. In this day and age with better and similar or even better priced bikes there is no reason to even consider the KLR.. It is a total turd..
I'd like to see Kawasaki add an adventure bike along the lines of a T7 or even a TransAlp. Then maybe go back to making the KLR a real dual sport again. The 2024 KLR is almost 70 lbs heavier and has 1.5 inches less suspension travel than my 2005 - and seems like neither a good dual sport or ADV bike.
Ok, the look is nice, but does it actually do anything?
Well i bought one and i regret it... it's too (top) heavy and is not a bike for single track or any trail. I should have bought a KLX300 and a naked bike for street.
What pipes did you have in the shadow, she sounded great
@@glendoole4847 cheers, they were the vance and hines straight pipes

@kayneottley4669 cheers for watching BTW, amazing to hear I've reached the other side of the world 😄
Very nice, I’m putting mine back together at the moment. Great video
Where did you get the seat?!!
@dionmoore879 that's the original seat mate, I found the chrome seat halo on fb marketplace but it was for a yamaha.
2024 Gen 3 owner here. People have to remember that the Gen 1 is more of a true dual sport bike. Whereas the Gen 2 and Gen 3 was "converted" to be more of an adventure bike with off road features.
looks great, how about de-badging it...
The tape you peeled off the mudguard is actually a factory fitting. My very original, Shadow ACE, here in Australia has the same tape . Cheers 😎
Oh damn, cheers for the info mate, good to know. Appreciate you watching.
Where’s the 3000gt content🥲
I promise I'll do an update on the 3kgt soon 👍
Sounds like you made a good decision getting this bike.
