I like that Francesco talks about the real job, it's not like those FA blogs that are about hair, makeup, and lattes.

I just found you channel. I don't watch RUclips often. I was a Flight Attendant at American for thirty-seven, yes 37, years. I retired in 2013. During those years I worked both domestic and of course international. I was an assistant to the Flight Service VP and Managing Director, only for a few months at a time, I was a recruiter and instructor and was terminated once. (A trip to Federal Court for the twenty of us terminated on the same day got us back to work. No details due to have to sign a NDA, Non Disclosure Agreement.) Just remember these are the good old days for you. I have just wiped out the not so good parts and seldom think of the job at all. I have four very close friends I keep in touch with. We all met within the same week in 1978. We lived in the same building 254 Park Ave. South in NYC. We remain very close. None of us live in the same state. Do we visit? Not often. None us can stand the thought of getting on an airplane. I have taken one round trip to SAN to see one of the other three. Listen, you have a great time, take advantage of every opportunity that comes your was and you would like to do. Be well new friend. I wish you the very best.
I'm actually curious, I'm planning on getting into the flight industry, and I'm still trying to figure out more about it, how do you get into international flights? That's one of the things I really wanna do but don't know the qualifications for.

It’s not fair how the airline pays the flight attendants. Seems like you are required to do a lot of work for basically free.
They literally work on a flying trash 🗑 can. Lol 😂
Yes but they get paid at a very high rate so it all evens out. In addition they receive all sorts of perks including free flights on their own airline and usually discounted flights on other airlines. I say flight attendants that complain about their pay.... be a gate agent or ground crew or reservations 🤷♀️ problem solved!
Every airline pays you a basic salary and on top of that, you get paid hourly when flying so they don't work for free
@@rut_cat when they are waiting at the airport up until they secure the door for pushback, they don’t get paid. In my book that is free.
@@RebeccaBang The perks are cute but we work so much especially these days we barely ever get to use them. We don’t get paid until the main aircraft door is closed and are required to show up at least an hour before the flight time, and yes that too is unpaid. So please my love- if you don’t know what you’re talking about then just say that.
Went through training in 1983 40 years pushing galleys up and down isles and it never gets old.

Francesco … that’s hard going. At my airline we are paid from report time until 30 minutes after arrival time at the gate. I’ll never complain about that. Hope you and John enjoy your cruise 😊😊
Delta is the only one who pays while boarding and they did that so that they can ward off the crew from demanding for a crew union.

Crazy that not all flight attendants have to have their baggage screening. It’s much more stringent here in Europe.

Hahaha!! That was nice you had a longer break in your day three while sitting here in Chicago. There are some nice restaurants over there in Terminal 3. I use to pass by the famous Rick Bayless restaurants for nice food. A little expensive but nice..

It was nice when I use to bid Fort Lauderdale trips layovers. I used to stay at the Sheridan Yankee Clipper Beach Front Hotel. That was a very nice hotel with the over the street walk way.

I am very weary about serving hot coffee on planes. Hot coffee may spill going through turbulence.
Also, if the person in front of you abruptly reclines his seat, your hot coffee will spill on you.
(I’m a nurse and I think of these things).

Hi Francesco, you must've been in SoCal right before the heavy rain 🌧️ and snow ❄️ really socked us. The sun did come out for a bit a couple hours ago. Believe it or not, there was even sleet in some parts of L.A. The last time it snowed in the LA area was in 1947, that was what my dad told me in 1994. Have fun on the cruise
I flew for a major airline 40 years ago and I'm assuming things have changed because when I worked we were paid for every hour we were gone on a trip. For example, on a 3 day trip you were paid for the entire trip, not just the hours you were working. Since our hotels were provided this really was just for food you purchased while you were gone. Our benefits were great. I had no complaints.

I’ve stayed at that Orange County Hotel… To me it smells like a church or library. Smells like old books.
I want to give you a heads-up about visiting disneyland... a new procedure is in place for admission: advance reservations are required. Make ressies on their website. I would hate for you to go all the way to the park and be turned away. God bless

This is definitely the hardest job in the world. Even sitting on the plane I don't feel comfortable due to turbulence and pressure.

Has airline though of including food for regular passengers like it was before? I understand that there might be a possibility of raising prices if food is included. I've traveled since 18 years, it was really fun and enjoyed the food they served backing the days.

Yes, you are right. We got paid from wheels up, to wheels down. It always bothered me that was how we got paid.

That's a walk in the park! We use to carve Chateaubriand table side, the best Sevurga caviar. Dom Periignon, chilled vodka of couse set the dinner table not a tray along with all the other amenities......no offense but You guys have it easy!

This was a fantastic video! I noticed that you received chocolate from a customer. When I fly in Business Class, I like to get the flight attendant a little something. I am always torn between chocolates or Starbucks gift cards. I don't know. 🤷♂️

That's a lovely hotel room in Seattle. No idea what a haunted smell is but that doesn't sound good 🙂. While I love WDW more, Disneyland is definitely a great place and well worth a visit.
I flew for 28 years Qantas..hated LAX MEL
