@@Damian-jp5fp yeah I've known about that since it came out. The TGT was labeled the official wheel of GT sport, so it had the boost turbo pack that would work a little better on GT sport. You can still use the TGT, or any of the thrustmaster wheel on any other game.
So it's a hybrid gear/belt driven wheelbase. So it's safe to assume that the ffb won't be as good as a t300. no swappable wheel rim, on top of that, the wheel rim feels and looks cheap, same with the pedals. And this costs 400€? Sounds like thrustmaster is absolutely lost. Free tip for anyone: get the t300 gt edition for 330€. Or if you're on pc, and can spare a few notes, get the ts-pc and the t-lcm pedals.
I have a Fanatec CSL Elite but need a wheel for my little brother. Love the CSL and want something comparable but the CSL DD is just way too expensive without some kind of bundle discount like I got my CSL in. I hate that they discontinued the CSL Elite. Hoping this won’t be a huge downgrade to the CSL Elite because I can’t go down to G29 levels after feeling the quality of a Fanatec.
To your original question, the T248 ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ANNIHILATES THE Logitech G29 FROM FUCKING ORBIT!!! It's SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful (≈3.5nm vs ≈2.5nm), with a DRAMATIC increase in feedback "fidelity/resolution" thanks to the hybrid gear + belt motor system vs Logis strictly gear only one. AND Logi's pedals are dramatically, DRAMATICALLY WORSE!!! Literally the only thing better about the G29 is the raw build/materials quality because Thrustmaster decided to instead spend all their build cost where it ACTUALLY MATTERED! (Aka, the motor and pedal box). Sorry, not sorry. 🤷
And I know your comment was like ≈1-2 years ago, but the Fanatec CSL DD bundle is actually down to $400 (so ≈$430 w/ tax) nowadays thanks to the MASSIVELY increased Direct Drive competition as of recently courtesy of Moza and their fantastic R5 & now R3! And also as a result, this guy (Thrustmaster T248) has actually dropped down to just $300, where it's still a totally solid option thanks to its massively impressive for the price pedal box. But if strictly buying new at retail, Fanatec's CSL DD bundle for $400 is most DEFINITELY the absolute best "bang/$" sim-racing setup on the market atm if one can afford it though. 🤷
I don't know why people complain about the plastic paddle shifters. Metal isn't premium. It's just expensive lol. These plastic shifters are 100% better than the t150 shifters. They feel better, and are magnetic so they won't ever wear out.
This being a T150 replacement, I think the T300 is still the better option. T248 has some nice features, like more buttons, an LCD screen and magnetic shifters and those pedals do seem like an upgrade over the T3PA, but it's still a gear+belt system (vs T300's dual belt) and has less torque. Btw T300 and T300RS is the same thing
I believe the t248 has a combo of belt and helical gears while the t300 is fully belt which means the t300 should be quieter and a lot better and smooth. Id recommend you go for the t300.
This thing didn't make much sense at the original $400 price point (where the at the time just +$50 more & belt only T300RS was MILES AHEAD if you didn't care about its inferior pedals), but now that it's $300? It fills an important gap in the current market between the ≈$150-$250 proper entry level stuff ala the T150/TMX or most of Logi's lineup and the ≈$400-$500 it costs to get a proper Direct Drive bundle from Fanatec or Moza. 🤷 The T3PM pedal box in particular punches way, WAAAAAAY above its weight class despite having plastic stems!
I honestly hate how the Wheel looks with all these plastic bits (and the super "clicky" paddle-shifter). The G923 might be stuck in time, but at least the build quality is much nicer.
I play mainly on GT Sport. The dream set for me would be T300 Servo base + Ferrerai EVO wheel + TLCM pedals (900$ CAD)… but that would cost a lot in one shut. What could be a good « second choice » for around 600$ (CAD) ? T248 set or T150 + T-LCM pedals (get a better wheel later) or T300 GT Edition set (get better pedals later)?
I am a little bit surprised how they got a price of 350€ in Germany because i see really a lot of plastic... anyways i bought it and if i won't like Imma buy g29
I’m not too crazy about it , the price for one and the buttons , it’s got more buttons than a Japanese toilet , and if you’ve ever been to Japan and used the public restroom you know what I’m talking about. It might be a nice wheel but man that price is just too much. The buttons I could live with. 👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️
Stay well clear of g29 steering wheel is brilliant, but the potentiometers in the pedals are a nightmare, pedal flicker is very common with them,I have just sold mine because the problem persisted to the point I couldn't look at it any more🤣
I think this wheel kinda takes inspiration from an Opel Insignia wheel. It's got the same silver line in the middle and even those toggle switches on the sides
For Fanatec CSL DD you would also need to buy a rim and pedals (and possibly the upgraded power suply) and that would be almost double the price of this
@@118Shadow118 OK, but only for someone who is just starting out in Sim racing and needs to get equipped. Nice vid, but i wish the price was a bit closer to the g29
100%
Wish price was more budget friendly. That's my only barrier to entry to switching from controller to a wheel and pedal setup
I agree. At $400 is at an awkward place in the market
I’m a broke teenager and 400$ is definitely a lot of money hard for me to convince myself to buy a entry level wheel at that cost
