  • With Thrustmaster having released their product roadmap only a few weeks ago, we've already got our hands on their T248 Hybrid Drive wheel and T3PM pedals. With comparisons to the T150 rife in its marketing and being priced up against the likes of the Logitech G923, how well does it stack up against the competition? Does the inclusion of a customisable display grant it a spot in your sim racing setup? Watch now to find out...

    At first I was a little skeptical with the $399 pricing and my first ever wheel but I just picked it up for $350 and so far I'm liking it. If I continue to use it for several years to come, I might have to upgrade to one of those high end ones 😅

    As someone who mostly drives road cars in BeamNG Drive, I would LIKE the paddles. They seem like they would feel like cheap plastic paddles like Acura or BMW uses. Having the large metal paddles of my G920 is a bit too "race-car" when you're driving an Integra or a TLX.

    I just brought two of these one for each console. I have not used them yet, but I ended up getting the PS5 version free of charge so I only spent £110 on each wheel. I went for this one despite loving the look of the G923 but as a techie or former techie the LCD was a gorgeous thing to have. However, the videos that I have watched are pretty much the same it is 51% for this wheel and 49% for the G923 so this is slightly better in reviews. I am not a sim racer, but this was just on my bucket list for things to have before I kick the bucket.

    So I bought this wheel because I had a TS-PC and ClubSport V3 pedals and needed a solid wheel and pedal set for GranTurismo. Went with the T248 because it was new and had loadcell brakes, and honestly I do like the wheel for what I need it for. If I would have thought about it more, I would have bought T300 base and the T3PM pedals separately so I could use my wheel addons, but other than that I say its a good wheel. Shifters dont bother me when Im actually racing

    so yeah conveniently forgetting to tell people that this platform is NOT in the Thrustmaster Eco system .. wheel can NOT BE replaced or UPGRADED.. so if you want to have some future add on/update or just more wheels.. you lose.. far better option = T300 GT with t3pa pedals.. same price.. better options for upgrades and wheel rims.!

  • @runardebrouwer5217
    @runardebrouwer5217 2 года назад +1

    I'm guessing the t300rs gt is a better deal?
    I'm kind of hesitating, this seemed good to me at first, because it has the screen and that seems handy to have but now that I've read the comments I think I might go for the t300
    On a related note: do you think the external screen thrustmaster makes is worth it if I would go for the t300, because it's rather expensive but then again, a screen does seem handy. And with the detachable wheel of the t300 you can mount it behind the wheel with a bracket they make so it's in a good position.

    Hell no Thrustmaster! This new wheel looks like crap to me. I would honestly rather have the T150 Pro even at the same price of $250 any day. Good news for me I have the T300RS GT that blows this pile of crap out of the 💦. Also good news for me I found the T300RS GT Edition on eBay in excellent condition last week for just $300 and I got the TH8A 7 speed shifter also used in like new condition for only $170 for a $470 total. So for only $70 more you do the math. I would also choose the Logitech G29 over this any day as well for nearly half the price. You asked the question is Thrustmaster back in form and the easy answer is absolutely not! It’s a plastic pile of overpriced crap and I feel sorry for anyone who buys it. I would put it between the T80 and the T150 so it should be priced $199 half the price. Shame on you Thrustmaster for creating this abomination of a wheel. For $400 you should have a successor to the T300 RS that’s only $350 right now and a much much better wheel!

      I've never seen a "Product Provided" feature on RUclips. That sounds a bit weird and overly specific
      There's an "Includes Paid/Sponsored Promotion feature" but in terms for reviews supplying just a product is generally not considered payment.
      It's a necessity as most channels can't afford to buy every single product that comes out.
      So companies provide products for review or just to be used in videos. They get exposure and the content creator gets something to create content about.

    The initial $400 launch price was a little high, with the faster, more powerful (≈4.5nm vs ≈3.5nm) and fully belt driven T300RS being just +$50 more back then (aka $450) if you were ok with its hugely inferior pedals. (Well that, or the T300RS GT at +$100 more/$500 if you wanted a better, 3x pedal box w/ its T3PA's; although even THOSE were still not as good as the then brand new T3PM pedals the T248 has!)
    But now that it's only around $300??? (And occasionally even goes on sale to ≈$260-$270!!! 😳🤯). It's literally one of, if not THE absolute BEST sim-racing wheel + pedal option under $400!!!
    That said, if you ARE willing to spend >≈$400 though, then you should really just go entry level direct drive, ala Fanatec's currently just $400 (so like $435 w/ tax) CSL DD bundle. 🤷
