Does anybody know what happend to the Azov, the Kara class "cruiser" that was the test bed for the SA-N-6 "Grumble" AAW system and the "Top Dome" radar? Is it still operational? Seems like it would be a huge waste to get rid of the already modern warship Also, why the HELL arent all of the BCGN's operational? Anything come of Ochakov? Why is it not fitted with one aft and one for SA-N-6 system, and patrolling the seas? Russia needs to employ phased array radar's on everything
That sucks, waste of a good ship in my opinion. The ship could fire SA-N-6, SA-N-3B, and SA-N-4 missiles. If it would of got a Kashtan or two, it would have had 5 defensive weapon rings with the addition of electronic warfare. The "Kalinin" battlecruiser is another example of a ship with an overwhelming defence suite that i think would be the hardest ship to sink 96 SA-N-6, 40 SA-N-4, 144 SA-N-9, 6 Kashtans each of which consists of 4 point defence missiles and 2 30mm rotary barrel guns each
I got a question, supposedly there is only one Kara class cruiser in service today and that is Kerch, however russian sources also say that Ochakov is also in service after an overhaul in 2004/2005, western sources also have it in service but they refer to it as a large ASW destroyers when in fact ochakov is a Kara class cruiser. That means there are 2 of this cruisers in service in the black sea.
Ну зачем тратить средство на восстановления лудше уже новый а его в музей или на метал он 70года ну очень старый,хотя как за ним ухаживать вроде есть и 70х но ещё ходят по волнам по морям

Очаков 20 лет в заводе стоит, там наверно его и распилят. Корабельный состав кораблей 1 го ранга пополнять не скоро будут с этим правительством
