Anno and Mediterranean islands, I just cant see it. Lack of type environments to grow, breed animals and mine to that age. Those islands not suitable anything but mining and can only sustain a small population, because you cant grow anything to the point to sustain them. They need to vastly change how the game plays and mostly forget about islands.

However, they already have a concept map of the game on the Ubisoft website and it doesn’t look like the classical archipelago maps in every other anno game. So this eased those environmental concerns. If they do a combination of islands and inland maps, it could work. The anno formula works for an Ancient Rome city building game but only if they get the map right. Plus every anno game (except 2205) has been a hit. I’m cautiously optimistic this one will be too.

Anno is a series that is focused on city building rather than combat. But we will see. I at least like to see a military economy.

@@dracosummoner Unlikely, the reason Anno 1800 had a brief window on steam was because EGS didn't exist untill shortly before release. Ubisoft/Epic would have probably preferred no coppies had been sold on steam at all, but they had to honour the pre-orders.
Even though the classic ANNO games still hold a special place in my heart, I hope that this title will also take a place among my favorites that I play very often. Almost the entire modern series: 1404, 2070, [nothing happened here.], 1800 are truly wonderful games.

My first Anno was 1503. I wouldn't mind if ya guys remade it. I miss playing it. I loved the Combat and that you had to build Walls. The same was with 1701. But the 1503 graphics were just the real deal for me. I still play it from time to time.

I have to play again The Anno serie. Anno 1602 was the beginning. My cousin gave me that game back when we was a kids. He didn't knew how to extract ships respources to the warehouse in order to start building a village

Bad enough that this uplay launcher starts every time without having any use at all for me, when I start one of the Anno games on Steam, stealing my PC's resources for nothing of value.
I think this anno will have in depth land warfare considering navy was underdeveloped in Roman era and land warfare was almosg everything by Romans conquered, maybe? I am not so sure

Anno 117 hell yeah. It's the year Hadrian became Emperor of Rome. One of the "good emperors" of Rome known for his journeys into the provinces of Rome to optimize and better the lifes of his subjects. 117 also fits in the overall scheme of Anno to let 99 years pass between games. If you ad 99 to 117 you end up at 1404 after thirteen times.

If you say this you aren't interested in Anno and aren't an Annoholic. All Ubi games need Uplay, so it doesn't matter if you use steam or not.
