i wore my first tamiya grasshopper out then hopped it up, and you know the black foor wheels, fit the grasshopper, this might be my new kit from them ;)
Well Sir. I am super excited to watch this new Tamiya. My first RC was a Tamiya Falcon and this looks kinda looks like one. However we are dying out here waiting on your class 2 and 3 Colorado Videos.
My first hobby grade kit was the Tamiya Frog back in ‘84, the spring after its release. I built 3 other Tamiya kits in the 80s: ClodBuster, SuperShot, and a Porsche 956 controlled with a Futaba stick radio. I then switched to Associated with the RC10 for racing and an HPI for touring car in the 90s. But, I’ve been crawlers for the past 10-15 years. The BBX is the first Tamiya, I’m seriously considering grabbing. It looks like a real off-road buggy unlike typical racing buggies today. It reminds me of the original Rough Rider of the late ‘70s.
I’ve built so many Tamiya kits I can line up all of my T-wrenches and make it to the Tamiya Factory. Love them. Looking forward to getting the BBX. Thanks Josh.
Tamiya hit bull's eye with this kit. It will sell like hotcakes. The buggy carries so much history into the design from their previous releases years back. Love it. And quite nice to see your entusiasme building this kit.
Just what i was looking for. I wanted to see what was new. Beautiful looking car. I recommend building it yourself, not a rtr. With a rtr you miss the knowledge, satisfaction after it's done. My first build was actually mauru if spelling is rite? Lol. The big bear. My first tamiya was the 84 grasshopper. As a 14 year old i absolutely loved the time of a son and his dad building a tamiya. Cherish time for ever.
love the video the enthusiasm shines through I built my first Tamiya kit 40 + years ago The Rough Rider I think im going to pick a bbx up for purely nostalgic reasons
My first rc was a tamiya blackfoot. I used to race it at a roller skating rink back in '86-'87 when I was 13 or 14 years old. Great memories. My second was a tamiya stryker,I wish I still had both of them but many years/moves and life happened and I lost both of them many years ago. I really need to get a new tamiya kit,but I like so many of them I just can't decide on one, lol,I need to convince my wife that I need more than one new kit lol
I started with the Brat. I then raced the Hot Shot. I had a Bruiser, Clod Buster, Wild Willys, Black Foot, and I'm sure some others that I can't remember. Always enjoyed building them. Sometimes more after they were done, than during.
I have only one tamiya kit. A TT-02 with the nsx body on it. I saved the build until I had all the upgrades I wanted and additional parts needed like a radio and receiver. It's a fun little ripper for a some hot laps around the neighborhood. Maybe it's time to double my tamiya collection with the bbx. I don't have a buggy in my collection yet either. Two good reasons. Love the channel!
Classic looks and some old tech but with a modern take on a platform that was, for many of us, our first RC experience! I like that this wasnt just another re-re but a fun platform that will make a great basher and is still a nod to the good ole days! And, hex screws, aluminum shocks and bearings, oh my! 😅
Yeah !!! I really like. My 1st real RC. Grasshopper !! 40 years later, well, I don't have the hopper anymore, or the lunchbox, Blackfoot, got some clos parts, lol I do have a couple of tmaxxes , mgt's , armas, redcat, and a hand ful of axial Traxxas crawlers, think I need to revisit my rc roots. I really like that buggy
Follow up, It took so long to get, I forgot about it and when it showed up I was happily surprised. It was an awesome build. Hopefully Tamiya makes more new RCs. They did a great job on this one.
Sounds very fun to put together. 1st Tamiya I ever put together was the Buggyra Fat Fox and since expanded into other Tamiya kits, which is very enjoyable.
Had a monster beetle back in the day, tried to convince my parents to get me an egress, got a Kyosho ford rs200 nitro instead. Was fun, but always had the egress in the back of my head. Didn’t do any RC for about 25 years, but got back into it 3 years ago. Now I have more than ten Tamiya kits done and dipped my toe into crawlers and big cars. My favorite Tamiya kit is the xv-01 ld, love the belt driven transversal motor. Would love to get a TRF kit, and yes, got an egress too now.
First hobby grade RC was a Grasshopper I had for years breaking and modifying over and over followed by a Terra Scorcher and a Kyosho Shadow. Currently have a Racing Fighter in my stable.
Wow, seeing that kit in Tamiya's classic packaging is a true throwback to the Golden years (my very first kit was a Grasshopper back in 1985?). Only thing missing in this kit is their famous blister packaging to highlight the key parts, hehe.
That' s a winner! I only built the Hotshot from Tamiya wich I enjoyed a LOT so I'm really looking forward to get this one as well. It will be a fun runner on the field I'm sure!
This is my favourite new RC in years there expensive in Australia at the moment hope they go down good they included bearings but no motor that sux a bit!
I'm looking forward to this one! I have 25+ different Tamiya chassis in my collection, they are just as fun to build I think. Good to see that a new chassis has finally arrived
My first hobby grade was the tamiya Bigwig when it first came out have built around 15 or 20 different tamiya models rc and stagnant looks like its time for another 😊
Definitely going to get the BBX. I have Tamiya Hot Shot and Grasshopper re-releases. I love the scale look of Tamiya’s old-style buggies so this would fit perfectly in the collection.
Why does it look better than the initial photos? When I first saw it, I didn't much like it, but now it looks better. The wheels and tires don't look nearly as large to me in this video.
I have a couple TT-02 kits. One has been mostly assembled, while the other one still needs assembled. The bodies are what makes them stand out, my Nissan GTR body is awesome... but the HOURS it took to affix the decals was tedious.
So how do you like the hobbywing holmes motor combo? Have you run it yet? I’m looking for suggestions. We want to run these at the local track. Don’t need crazy speed maybe 25 to 30 mph tops with 2s and 3s capability. I see people putting crazy 6000+ kv brushless systems in these which seems overkill.
Heck yeah I can’t wait to drop hints on this one really want one of these, reminds me of a radio shack Rc my brother had back in the day that was accidentally fast by switching out the charger to a little bit hotter one that made that buggy boogie 😂
I had an RC car from the 80s that looked just like called the Bulldog. Not sure what brand name it was. It was very similar. Now I'm going to be on a mission trying to figure out who made it.
I think I will have to get this one, I enjoy building Tamiya rc cars, I have assembled about 25 of them, mostly the tt02, but my first was the Rough Rider when it first came out, the last one was a rereleased Sand Scorcher
I've really only built a M-03 Mini from tamiya, I got an XV-02 pro that is just lacking foams in the dust shield but it's really tight with electronics. Nice to build but I think will fun to run for about three minutes. I kinda want to build more tamiya kits but I don't think I'd ever drive them
I have been subscribed to your channel for at least two years and I was wondering why I haven’t seen anything from your channel like alerts and such. Your channel was somehow off all my devices . Is anyone else experiencing this ?
First! (I think) I'm excited for this review Edit: Just finished the video, I've built 11 Tamiya kits and have number 12 on hand but haven't built it yet
I loved all my Tamiya builds. I even tried learning Japanese because of the cool labels on the parts and box. That turned out to be a failure on my part though.
I'm glad they went with BBX instead of BBC. Could've been weird.
That’s something you’d see on the scale news video captions 😂
Nothing wrong with a big block chevy 😂
@@rubberdiculous9894 Nothing wrong with the British Broadcasting Corporation. Lol
Or a BBW
I hate the bbc and their left wing bias! They might as well work for the labour arm. A DISGRACE.
This will be my first RC car in 30yrs!
I have a BearHawk I built in 91. Can’t wait to build the BBX.
i wore my first tamiya grasshopper out then hopped it up, and you know the black foor wheels, fit the grasshopper, this might be my new kit from them ;)

My first RC was a Blackfoot in 1989. The first RC I built with my daughter was a Lunchbox.
Reminds me of the Grasshopper…….but better. I need one!
I have built 9 Tamiya kits of various types so far, currently own 8. Can't wait to get the BBX!
Just what i was looking for. I wanted to see what was new. Beautiful looking car. I recommend building it yourself, not a rtr. With a rtr you miss the knowledge, satisfaction after it's done. There is something nostalgic about building a Tamiya kit. Always enjoy it. I will have to pick this one up.
I'm going to build mine soon. It looks like a fun build.
This was on my "someday" list. Now after your video..."Time to go to the hobby store!" 😄
I started with the Brat. I then raced the Hot Shot. I had a Bruiser, Clod Buster, Wild Willys, Black Foot, and I'm sure some others that I can't remember. Always enjoyed building them. Sometimes more after they were done, than during.

Tamiya and Hex.... I'm in
I've got 7 tamiya vehicles currently, love building kits so tamiya with a large selection of kits was sure to take up a portion of my rc collection
Everyone should build at least one Tamiya kit in their life.
Yeah !!! I really like. My 1st real RC. Grasshopper !!
40 years later, well, I don't have the hopper anymore, or the lunchbox, Blackfoot, got some clos parts, lol
I do have a couple of tmaxxes , mgt's , armas, redcat, and a hand ful of axial Traxxas crawlers, think I need to revisit my rc roots. I really like that buggy
I do really like the buggy.
Very cool to see you built one. Not just Matt hahaha.
Very cool man.
Now i really want this
preordered mine months ago. Thought I would have it by now.
Nice to see Tamiya finally made it to the ‘90’s 😂
My first was a Blackfoot in 1986. Still have it, plus about 60 other vehicles.
Nice kit, good change in the actual offer
I think Schumacher sometimes asks to drill the bleeder hole in the shocks
this release looks awesome to build! To not have to go buy a bearing kit separately is a huge win.
I have VP 1.9s on my BBX, I was so excited to find out it used 1.9s! 😊
That truly is a good looking buggy. My first Tamiya was a Buggyra a few years ago.
Love building. Cant wait to pick this one up. I've build two Tamiya kits, the Rally Bug and the WRX Rally TT02
i assume shorty servo means low profile?
That' s a winner! I only built the Hotshot from Tamiya wich I enjoyed a LOT so I'm really looking forward to get this one as well. It will be a fun runner on the field I'm sure!
I’ve only built 2 or 3 new Tamiya kits. But I own numerous Tamiya RCs.
I can't wait till my local hobby shop gets mine in.
I haven’t been this excited for a new Tamiya in some time. So happy to see videos releasing especially from you and Matt.
This is my favourite new RC in years there expensive in Australia at the moment hope they go down good they included bearings but no motor that sux a bit!
I hope they have enough to go around, that Blockhead Wild One was a pain to get and never got the prordered 45 anniversary Porsche.
It looks like the super champ from the 80's
I'm looking forward to this one!
I have 25+ different Tamiya chassis in my collection, they are just as fun to build I think. Good to see that a new chassis has finally arrived
I was just looking at these again this morning! I will definitely have to pick one up soon.
Very cool and totally classic! Would love to do another Tamiya build! Thanks Josh!
Pretty cool Baja buggy. My first RC was a Tamiya Fox. I raced it back in the day against Associated RC10’s and did pretty well.
Already have the hop up part and I'm waiting for my pre-order. Tamiya kits are really cool to build. My first one was the frog.
Have one on pre-order. Looking forward to my first tamiya build
👍my 1st hobby grade was tamiya sand rover. When I get mine I'll do rough rider livery.
Digging into that back log Hard and heavy!
Great looking kit. Definitely needs the spare wheel on the back to complete the look.
I’m glad the front tires from the Japan show made the production vs the grove tires on the demo units. Looks very scale
Any word on when it's going to actually be available, and also any idea about the losi pro Moto , when will be restocked ??
So how do you like the hobbywing holmes motor combo? Have you run it yet? I’m looking for suggestions. We want to run these at the local track. Awesome. I’ll be adding that to the fleet soon.
Love it! I was hoping a sand scorcher body would fit over it but I bet there is a lexan bug body that would fit it nicely.
I had an RC car from the 80s that looked just like called the Bulldog. Not sure what brand name it was. It was very similar. Now I'm going to be on a mission trying to figure out who made it.
I had the Subaru Brat that cost a whopping $69 from Hobby City in Westminster, Ca
I think I will have to get this one, I enjoy building Tamiya rc cars, I have assembled about 25 of them, mostly the tt02, but my first was the Rough Rider when it first came out, the last one was a rereleased Sand Scorcher
Looks like it was based on the Superchamp .
LOVE IT ....... HE SAID ALL NEW TAMIYA !!
Nice looking buggy! Awesome video 👍
The link took us to the tamiya bronco haha
Looks awesome!! I ordered one I can't wait for it to come in.
So does the body come clear ? (needing paint)
Yes thats correct.
Nice, good to see some new content.
I've really only built a M-03 Mini from tamiya, I got an XV-02 pro that is just lacking foams in the dust shield but it's really tight with electronics. Nice to build but I think will fun to run for about three minutes. I kinda want to build more tamiya kits but I don't think I'd ever drive them
Be interesting to get that, & some how, some way, turn it into a crawler. 🤔
if you put the MON 14 body on it will it be called the BBC ?
Now you know how Matt has felt over the last couple months! LoL
tc-01 was all new, and many others
Just looks another tamiya kit when they finally get round to releasing it
Very cool!
I have been subscribed to your channel for at least two years and I was wondering why I haven’t seen anything from your channel like alerts and such. Your channel was somehow off all my devices . Is anyone else experiencing this ?
Think someone will make a metal frame??
Excited
So stoked on this release! Pre-ordered several months back and can’t wait for it to show up. Will be my first Tamiya ever! Great vid Josh🤘🏻
BBX what scale is it
Cool beans.
why it is so hard to use one screwtype for everything?
First! (I think) I'm excited for this review
Edit: Just finished the video, I've built 11 Tamiya kits and have number 12 on hand but haven't built it yet
I loved all my Tamiya builds. I even tried learning Japanese because of the cool labels on the parts and box. That turned out to be a failure on my part though.
ITS ABOUT TIME TAMIYA STEPPED UP WITH HEX SCREWS 🙄🙄. LETS HOPE THEY STICK WITH IT 😉🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
...And full ball bearings too !!!!
"😲" 👌👍
@@reneecorsaro7335 OH YA I FORGOT TO WRITE THAT TOO 😉🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Odd about the Velcro body parts...
Sounds like you’re getting sentimental in your old age!
Steal you some plywood and go jump that sucker... really sweet little buggy and the paint is on point
The links in the description down below…yeah they don’t work!
I’m waiting on them both to update their sites. Nobody was ready this morning I guess 😂
Started watching but then you pronounced Tamiya and I shut it off. Just saying.
More Super Champ refresh than a Grasshopper, you need to brush up on your Tamiya history.
It was just a visual comparison to a car many people know, being that it’s one of their most popular kits ever.
@@HarleyDesignsInc It's literally a Super Champ remake bud.
If u dont have patience and skill this is a heartbreaker
Questionable quality on these cars
