      Hey Keith...you really should have one, even if it's part of your "New in box collection"... It's very different than we are used to from Tamiya. Thanks for watching!

    I think it came out great. The body color goes really well with the decals as you said. It really is too bad we couldn’t dye the chassis frame like we discussed. I agree, it would look so much better in black. That was a bummer for sure. Can’t say we didn’t try. I also think your ratings coincide with my ratings of the buggy too. All in all, a fun build. Thanks for the shout out as well. Lol

      Thanks Rob! This was definitely fun...it didn't feel like a Tamiya, more like the legendary series from Kyosho. I hope they design more like this. By the way, you should really make a video of some of your models... definitely your tanks!

      Thanks Rex! I can't wait to get it back out running again. I don't usually run any RCs in the winter, other than maybe a few test drives on the road. I do hope Tamiya comes out with more kits of this quality, slightly more money, but so worth it. Thanks for watching!

    Looks great, and nice review. I have done some cutting on my front tires, but wish that we had some options that would fit. I love that they're not 2.2" wheels, but options for 'old school' rim sizes are pretty slim.

    • @eekrc
      @eekrc  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks! Yeah, that is the only thing I'm not happy about, there aren't many choices for tires. I tried throwing some other wheels and tires on it and it runs great, but just doesn't look right. And the rear tires just grab on corners a bit too much. Maybe in the future they will release other BB01 kits with other options. Thanks for watching!

    I got my first Tamiya buggy in the 1980's and for many years owned just Tamiya products. However, it has been a long time since they released a product that I was interested enough to consider buying. This BBX though is pure Tamiya. Unlike the TD models, this new buggy looks great in so many different colours. Loving the brown style paint scheme but brown polycarbonate paint is super hard to get hold of in Europe.

    • @eekrc
      @eekrc  9 месяцев назад +1

      I agree, the TD kits are not interesting for me. The BBX is a great kit to build, if you haven't built one in a while this is the perfect way to get back into the hobby. Same here, my kits in the 80s were all Tamiya. Let me know if you get one and what color you go with! Thanks for watching!

    It looks good, I am digging the color! Like all of them it does have it's quirks and I do like the buggy. I got the gear diff in the other day for mine, still not a fan of the ball diffs! other than that I think it will be a really fun one once I have the confidence I won't have to worry about the diff! I need to get it installed soon as I am sure the cold and the rains are coming our way!

      I'm starting to get used to the ball diffs...I don't like how they need adjusting, and you need to rebuild them after a good amount of use...but I do like how smooth they are. Time will tell Addam. If I destroy it I'll let you know...and I'll be asking you about the gear diff 😂

    Love your BBX looks great. Great vid. What have you painted wheels with? They look smoked and go so well with the body colour. I’m not a fan of the stock high chrome wheels because I dont think they fit the “old skool” look of this Baja buggy which I just love. I have chosen same motor as you and going old retro stickers on mine. Thx.

      Thanks! I should have talked about the wheels in this video. I used the Tamiya TS Smoke to give it a black chrome finish. Only 2 light coats. I'm not a fan of the chrome either. I did talk about it in the unboxing video. This motor is perfect for the BBX...I'm a little worried about the diff, but so far so good. Thanks for watching!

      @@tomcook5813 well...they both look great, but the BBX is just better overall. The quality of the parts, the gearbox is super smooth. But you have to spend a lot more for the electronics. The Wild One is great in it's own way, and is a Tamiya classic ...but it is a really old design. Tough choice. If you are looking for a more durable one I would go with the BBX. If not, then both would work.

      It does not come with the spare wheel and tire unfortunately. It does come with many light bucket options. I don't know the exact amount, but some for the front, the 2 near the driver, and even a rear light. I never put them on, I would probably just break them off while driving.
