Excellent review on this, thanks for putting it together, and answers a lot of questions that are floating around about it. I wasn't to bothered about it on it's initial announcement but seeing it in a real world environment, definitely one to consider now. Having always been a fan of the classic SRB's from Tamiya this a great step forward to offer something more in line with what Kyosho have done with their legendary series by updating them to accept more modern electronics.

the front wheels are narrower than the rear wheels so it has a better cornering handling. Of course, the traction is sacrificed. but these factors have made this BBX-001 more fun aiming for entertainment instead of boring competition purpose. People who love an RC buggy that looks real will definitely love it. Clearly, Tamiya is an RC company that aims for purposes different than Traxxas's, Armma's, or Team Associated's.

Wow! I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully it will arrive soon. Love the color scheme. Which paint did you use?

I’m convinced this isn’t a Tamiya kit. This is very “off brand” for them. This looks like a very good kit. I don’t see these ever being allowed into any racing classes, but would be fun to have several on a back yard track.

They did a nice job. This is the perfect buggy for some old school backyard track racing.

No way, it's sooo 100% Tamiya. Fits perfectly alongside and within the lineage of Willy, Lunchbox, Sand Scorcher, Clod, TRF, Concept cars... Big happy quirky Tamiya family 🙂
Fantastic, without taking away from all the other great options out there. I agree with it being in a niche of its own.

      I'm sorry...but why wouldn't it be "allowed"?? It's just a 2wd buggy.
