    I agree that both Mito PRO 300 and Platinum Biomax are probably the best value panels on the market today. I am not sure how did you come with those prices comparison. Current price for Biomax 300 is $629 add a table stand $109 equals $738. With your discount 5% would be $701. Mito PRO 300 already has stand included in the price so it will cost $349 and with discount $331. That is half price! I love both panels but for frugal people like me I would choose for face beauty therapy Mito as the power consumption is also less, so will your electricity bill be! Mito uses 90W Biomax 157W. If you use light for beauty therapy mostly on face and neck, smaller light perfectly covers that area. If you do light therapy wearing clothes, (shirt) most Biomax light will bounce from it or go above your head. Biomax will benefit people who do larger area therapy naked as it's larger panel. Whichever you buy I am sure you will be very happy. Thanks for your video.

      Shouldn't you use light therapy on bare skin? Your comment about clothes is confusing.

    • @LightTherapyatHome
      @LightTherapyatHome Год назад

      @@beatajesiak3280 you should do light therapy on bare skin but many people do face light therapy without taking 👕 off so in that case if you have larger light, the light shining on clothes will be wasting. If you do light therapy naked it's fine, but if you still keep some clothes on- placing light on desk and doing therapy for face, you don't benefit from larger light. Everything depends how you plan to use your light. I hope this clarify what I meant.

      Hey yeah the Platinum prices all went up after I filmed this. And I forgot to account for the stand in this video. So I slipped up on that part.
      The main emphasis in this video is finding a panel for beauty - I have a video for price conscious people here - ruclips.net/video/7MqNVgo3fm8/видео.html
      Because of the more diverse wavelength offerings (especially the blue LED) and the larger panel size AND the nicer control panel and stand (I have a few friends in the beauty space, and they want their tools to not only look nice, but be easy to use as well) the Platinum panel is the standout.
      Re power consumption - again beauty is the focus here - I think back to my beauty obsessed friends and I can tell you now they don't care how many watts their hair straightener or blower or nail dryer is drawing. They just want something that works.

      @@cinco10 no. Not from personal experience. But I have read that the standard 660 wavelength works for wound healing. And that is used on most red light therapy panels if you want to get a basic one for a little less money. If I were to choose a panel though, it would be one that also has 630 wavelength like the MitoAdapt or in the Infared Flex panels. Since both are said to work for wound healing. Thanks for this.. super helpful. I feel very informed as a buyer. I recently bought the Omnilux contour mask but I’m thinking about returning it to purchase one of these. Do you think I’m better off with a table top version rather than a mask? Also wondering if I should just go for a full body panel… my budget is $1000. I do like that the biomax has all the wavelengths, including blue. I didn’t realize there were more than just beauty benefits when I bought the omnilux mask.

    • @LightTherapyInsiders
      @LightTherapyInsiders  Год назад +3

      Hey, thanks for your comment.
      Personally - yes I think a panel is better than the mask. A panel will put out more power, and be better value, plus you can use it on other areas of the body.
      I am currently doing a long term review with the Omnilux Mens Mask (first review is live here - ruclips.net/video/mwjWotblYF8/видео.html but I will be publishing an indepth review soon). I'm not using my panels while I do this review, and I'm noticing some of my dental pain is returning. I put this down to the lower power output in the Mask compared to the more penetrating power in a panel.
      Body panel vs tabletop - check this video out - ruclips.net/video/XdxffTdHrjY/видео.html
      If you can afford it, then yes a larger panel is better value and more practical.

    Hey Alex, I love these thorough videos of yours! I bought the platinum biomax 450 about 2 years ago using your discount. It doesn't have the blue light, and the red and infrared can't be used one at a time, only together. I'm wary of blue light therapy since it is the same as the blue light emitted from phone and computer screens, and the consensus is that blue light is actually damaging to skin. So is the biomax 450 that I have as good as the biomax 350 of today? Minus the blue light, of course. Thanks a bunch~

      Yeah the BioMax panels have changed a lot over the years! The new ones are quite neat with their remotes, apps and touch screen control panels.
      The new Biomax panels do have 2% of their LEDS emitting blue light - but they also have a switch that disables the blue for those that dont' want it.
      The other changes mean the new panels put out a lot more power and as I said earlier they also have the nicer control panel.
      I wouldn't upgrade for these extra features UNLESS you were planning on getting another panel to add to your setup :)

    I came into this as a skeptic. I did order (through your link) & just received the Hooga HG300, (660nm & 850nm) a minimal entry level unit to experiment with. After seeing your video here, I was slightly disappointed 😕that studies say using around 630nm is suppose to be more ideal. I did read that 660nm goes slightly deeper (than 630nm), to help stimulate collagen. Oh well, this is confusing. I do like the tremendous soothing, relaxation & meditative effect of red light panel. Perhaps, I will upgrade at later time to an RLT unit that has more than 2 wavelength selections. Thanks for informative channel & your website 👍

    Hi, Alex. Wonderful video, as always. I know that you were hyper-focused on 630 and 850 wavelengths. I've purchased a larger panel (LightpathLED Pro Series Large) to help with both skin rejuvenation and tendon, joint, and bone repair. I noticed that while it has 5 wavelengths its lowest level is 620. What is the difference between 620 vs 630 (please don't say 10) ;)

    • @LightTherapyInsiders
      @LightTherapyInsiders  Год назад +2

      Lol.
      TBH there ins't really a big difference in terms of benefits and mitochorondrrial absorption. Some even argue there isn't really much of a difference between say 620nm and 650nm for instance - as long as it's in that red range.

    • @LightTherapyInsiders
      @LightTherapyInsiders  Год назад +2

      The issue is some studies are done just looking at sat 620 and others at say 650, so that makes things a little messy - i.e. there may be a study showing massive skin improvements with 620nm. But that study didn't look at 650nm. Does that mean 650nm doesn't help the skin? No of course not. Is 620nm then better than 650nm - we don't know.

I bought it primarily due to the pulsing feature, but compared to an equivalent number of LEDs on my 900, there’s absolutely no comparison in power. I don’t have the tools to measure power output, but it generally seems like quite a weak device.
    As a secondary use, I thought that with it being so small and light, that I could easily take it on travel to treat multiple areas of my body for a longer period of time, than I do at home with the 900. But now, I don’t know that it’s a worthwhile option for travel use. I would really love it if you could do a review of the Maysama. I’m very interested in the power output, as it applies to both face treatment, or for use on travel.
    I think for many of us, once we experience the benefits of red light therapy, we want to be able to bring it along while away from home. I thought about buying a smaller Biomax for travel, but they’re still fairly heavy and much bulkier than the Maysama device. Plus, the built-in stand on the Pulse40 really is fantastic to easily set up in any space while traveling.

    Thanks for the info, Alex, so interesting and useful for many of us who want led therapy for skin condition. I’m confused about wavelengths. I have Hoogapro300 for face anti-aging issues like wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, tightening, uneven tone, etc, but now think that I’m missing 630nm 😢. Doesn’t 660nm, target either 630, cause is less wavelengths and be cover in the 660 spectrum? Could you explain how wavelengths work? I’m confused in this basic theory. Do you have a video where you explain how wevelenghts works? Thanks, Alex.

      Hey. I don't have a video on the topic (yet).
      I have written some blogs about it though - this may help:
      www.alexfergus.com/blog/everything-you-need-to-know-about-red-light-therapy
      that may help.
      Pretty much though each wavelength is a different colour - or a shade of color. And science is showing that different wavelengths have different effects on the body/health etc.
      The Hooga is still going to be good for skin. But yes there are better options with more wavelengths in it. But again the Hooga will still offer some benefit :)

    Your two top picks vary a lot in their proportion of lights. I can't discern if one proportion of lights is better than another...is there some way to evaluate that, like for example is it better to have a proportion that is closest to natural sunlight? The different wavelengths seem to do a lot of similar things. I'd love to see a video on this if you don't have one already that I missed.

      Hey, yes good points. Unfortunately though it's too tricky to say - especially as there is so much evidence showing that the light has systemic benefits -so treating one area will provide benefits elsewhere. If acne isn't a problem I wouldn't worry about the blue LEDs however.

    The best beauty masks (like OmniLux) use 633nm and 830nm. You mention 660 and 850 as the ones to use for beauty. Can you explain why those instead of 633/830?

    • @LightTherapyInsiders
      @LightTherapyInsiders  Год назад

      Hey yes I'm working on a resource that will help with this. There is a lot of overlap between the 830 and 850nm wavelengths (if you look at the LED output of a 850nm LED you will see there is 830nm light as well - this works the other way also).
      As for the 630 vs 660 - the research benefits seem to be quite similar with these two. I think a lot of panels use the 660nm LED's as it is cheaper to produce. Fortunately though there are panels like the BioMax and the MitoADAPT that do utilise a combination of wavelengths to ensure you can getting exposure to an assortment of wavelengths.

    Thanks so much for doing this video. I have a question about hyperpigmentation. My dermatologist told me these lights will cause hyper pigmentation and they do not treat it or improve it and she definitely recommended against it. But I don’t think she knows what she’s talking about. I have no idea where she got her info from but she was pretty adamant about it. I read somewhere that the infrared light setting can make the existing hyper pigmentation worse. I have melasma, sunspots and freckles so my complexion is a mottled hyper pigmented mess and no existing dermatological treatments have helped. I am hoping red light therapy is the answer but the last thing I wanna do is make this worse. You sound like you really know what you’re talking about so I’m hoping you will be able to reply to this comment. I’m considering the bio max panel you recommend in this video unless you suggest something else to better target my concern. I heard pulsed light is better but don’t know if that’s true or not. I’m looking to treat face neck and décolleté areas. Thank you very much

    Thanks for sharing your opinion BUT should we all jump on the band wagon and the MASSIVE TREND/PUSH lately for LED red light Therapy?
    I am concerned because of these kinds of studies :
    "The Secret Risks Of LED Lights
    One of the main concerns with LED lights relates to red LED lights, one of the oldest varieties still on the market. Those red LEDs were made with a substance called AGA (aluminum gallium arsenide), which is toxic in concentrated amounts. If you are directly exposed to this material on work sights or through contact with broken bulbs, it can be hazardous to your health. Side effects of toxicity from AGA include respiratory, kidney, and reproductive issues in laboratory studies. The lead content in red LEDs is also toxic when directly exposed, and should be avoided."
    Again, there is such a huge push right now for Red light 'Therapy " and many companies selling devices and making lots of money.
    But are these REALLY and effective? Is this ALL B.S and just another cash grab trend?
    Why when one goes to a hardware store to purchase lights bulbs there is a WARNING on the box for all LED light bulbs ) but NOT on the boxes for incandescent bulbs ) ?

      Hey.
      Like many things in our life today - the manufacturing does require a lot of chemicals and risk - I would like to think the companies involved in this are using all the safety gear.
      But once the LED's are made - as long as one isn't smashing them to bits, I don't see how they can be dangerous? But i'm no expert on LED manufacturing.

    Are there panels that only use 630 and 830nm?

      Yeah some companies just have 2 wavelengths. You can look in my shopping tool for specific wavelengths. products.lighttherapyinsiders.com/

    So I’m saving for a Biomax 450 or 900 but while I’m doing that I am using the total body enhancement/ergoline beauty angel 7200. How do the specs compare to the average body panel? I’m I wasting my time?

      Hey, I just had a quick look - these are big units! I'm guessing you use one at at clinic? I couldn't find the exact wavelengths they emit, but i'm sure they are beneficial so I'd keep using it :) Unless the price is extreme - then you may decide to put that towards your savings instead!

    Your reason for discounting certain models doesnt seem logical. 650 and 660 etc should provide the same benefit as 630

      There is research on these other wavelengths that do show different benefits.

    It’s still way too expensive.. If it wasn’t for the hyped popularity these devices wouldn’t be anywhere near the prices companies are charging.. Not saying they don’t have benefits.. just saying why should so many consumers have to be locked out of reaping the benefits because of their inflated prices⁉️😖
