@roberthanford1388 honestly santan and van Halen are kinda untouchable just because of their riffs and solos are unmatched overall it's hard to say someone could be as good as them IMO
Hi Sarah Thanks for your reaction. Carlos Santana is a true legend, one of the best guitarists in the history of music. I wish you all the best. Best regards
About 50 years after this recording was released, Carlos Santana (the guitar player on this recording) is still performing and playing the guitar as well as he ever has even though he's decades past his peak in popularity.
@LonghopeBro-ju6jl Green's playing on the John Mayall album "A Hard Road" is fantastic, better to me than Clapton's playing on "Bluesbreakers" with Mayall.
@@albertsmith9315 I know, I have the album. The Supernatural is one of my favorites. John Mayall had a pretty good run of guitarists, with Mick Taylor replacing Green.
The first car I bought was a Ford Escort Mklll with great speakers in the doors, so good base sound, and Santana Abraxas was the first album on cassette that I played and it didn’t matter where I was going, just driving and listening to this was magic. Now at 75 that magic comes back every time I listen to it, brilliant!
Carlos Devadip Santana, or is it Devadip Carlos Santana? Either way, ol' Carlos is one of the best Guitarists to ever walk onto a stage. Had the good fortune to see him one time, on a double bill with another amazing Guitarist, the late, great Jeff Beck. They each played their own set and then they came back together for a few songs. A GREAT night of music, and the song "Black Magic Woman" was right in the middle of Carlos' set, where it belonged. "Put a spell on me baby!" Even though it was written before you were born Sarah, maybe... .
Thanks, Sarah - Carlos is one of those few musicians whose sound is instantly recognizable... appreciate your reaction! (p.s. also check our others' suggestions.. and also some of his collabs with younger artists, like Rob Thomas and Michelle Branch......)
Congratulations on your excitable new discovery and that rush of joy you must have felt waft over that part of your soul, never touched before. Like so many others, this voyeuristic, vicarious nostalgia those of us that lived through that musical anthology while watching a new generation relate brings a validation. So take rare advice from a veteran of the era; for your personal pleasure, not to be shared, your life will change listening to SANTANA’s Abraxas LP (from whence this song originated), from beginning to end, no distractions. The opening instrumentals of Sing Wind/Crying Beast gently lead into a meditative trance to erupt out the levitating rhythms you’ve now experienced. Just for yourself. Trust me.
Loved your reaction, Sarah. ❤️ Santana burst on the scene in the late '60s with back-to-back epic albums right out of the blocks. This song is a classic. 😁
In the Air Force we had a saying--"all thrust, no vector." It doesn't matter how much power you have or how fast you're going if you're going in the wrong direction. This song is the quintessential musical example of this principle.
...great to see you gettin' into some Santana, Sarah, dancing in your chair!! This song was all over the radio in the early 1970s... and its rhythm section is so similar to your outro drums... 🪘😎
Most folks thought that this song was about a black woman from the album cover. In reality it is about a woman that does black magic. For a super live version of this song listen to The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band LIVE. This version is great. I sold many stereo systems with this Santana version. You should have heard it in quad. Abraxas was one of the first released in true quad.
Your description is spot on, and yes, the percussion does evoke the feeling of some type of magic ritual taking place. You are very perceptive. Loved your reaction to this wonderful magical piece of music.
when Santana played Woodstock jerry Garcia from the Gratful Dead gave him a hit of acid this is from his own words when he was playing his guitar neck he said was moving like a snake Listen to Ocean Gypsy by Renaissance love your reactions
Carlos loved Jerry Garica and said that Jerry told him to spread the LSD love vibes around and I say he didn’t failed on that mission. That he is still alive and Jerry who I met at my first show in March of 71 at my first show let me sit behind the amps and he left me. also found BEAR dropping liquid LSD from a small bottle onto the back of people’s heads and they licked it off. I stuck my hand out and he put four big drops on it and I licked it off and bye the way it was bye the way it was exceptional. I wandered over to check out their gear and Jerry saw me and walked over and passed me a big fat joint and we passed it back and forth for until it had burned to about half of what we started with. also talked with Bear and asked if I could get some and he hooked me on with his local dealer and I thanked him and headed home. I was still tripping my noodles out but I managed to make it home. The first thing the next day I called my man and set up a time that he could take care of me.Jerry and the band and the crew were mostly kind people. Roll Away The Dew ⚡️🎸⚡️
the Dead were fun every night - you said you hadn't "seen" them before - here is a clip from 1988 - as they were tuning; they wandered into playing an impromptu version of a Miles Davis composition called "So What" and then they begin their set with a powerful segment of music; "Sugar Magnolia" > "Scarlet Begonias" > "Fire on the Mountain..." - sit back relax or kick off your shoes if you want to dance, the clip is about 30 minutes - but enjoy what we used to do even when professional cameras weren't recording the festivities - ruclips.net/video/G6viQUaeXFk/видео.htmlsi=Y2bb-8kY8OnvAls0
P.S. I also agree with others that Soul Sacrifice by Santana at Woodstock is phenomenal. If you review it, it must be the FULL VERSION…no editing on the video. It’s sacrilege and disrespectful otherwise.
One of the best guitarist there is.Calos Santana.
and this song is the best cover version of a song ever, imo. Gregg Rolie on vocals.
10.31.24. Seen Santana🎸September 1, 1978 @ the old Flint IMA©️…. As he played Europa the bats 🦇 were stirred up by his guitar work‼️LOL
@roberthanford1388 honestly santan and van Halen are kinda untouchable just because of their riffs and solos are unmatched overall it's hard to say someone could be as good as them IMO
🎼You are digging this song🥰!!! I dug this song back in 1970 when I was 17 years old and still dig it now at 71!!! Great reaction!❤
With you I'm 75 now and it was awesome when it came out and still is.
You have a year on me. What music. Were we ever blessed
" Yuppers " 🎉 😊 ❤
Hi Sarah
Thanks for your reaction. Carlos Santana is a true legend, one of the best guitarists in the history of music.

another great one is SAMBA PA TI by Santana
I like Europa also.
You can't help but ask for more.In the sixty's music was a revolutionary mission.Santana was one of the great visionary s of those times
Written by Peter Greene during the original line up of Fleetwood Mac.
My favorite band to see live at the old Filmore West.

Aways love when Greg Rolle comes in tickling the keys. The way Rolle sings it is so cool to.
Santana "Oye Como Va",, "Evil Ways",, "Everything Is Coming Our Way",, "No One To Depend On",, "Samba Pa Ti",, "Everybody's Everything",, Etc..Etc.
Not the first chair dance I've seen to this song, but certainly The Best! :)
😅
you gotta see Santana live at Woodstock in 1969.....Performing....Soul Sacrifice.
🇨🇦 Absolutely ! Best experience ever ! 🇨🇦
The first car I bought was a Ford Escort Mklll with great speakers in the doors, so good base sound, and Santana Abraxas was the first album on cassette that I played and it didn’t matter where I was going, just driving and listening to this was magic. That last sustained note is because it drops immediately into "Oye Como Va" on the album. And it's best to listen to them together.
Dewr Sarah, to me you are the only reactor who doesn't have to verbalize what you are experiencing. Your body language is very sufficient!
I was hoping someone would suggest Santana, he's the GOAT.
Carlos Santana was possibly the best guitarists of the 20th century. The band was brilliant, but really just a vehicle for his guitar playing.🎉❤
My young teenage years, Led Zeppelin, Santana, the Doors, Black Sabbath .... glad you enjoyed xx
There is so much energy in this song.
Gregg Rollie sang the vocals on this song
Nothing but great music from Santana!! 😅
Written by Peter Green and recorded by the original Fleetwood Mac, Santana takes the song to a whole new level.
Guitars that sing like that are my favorite, but that particular song is the whole band coming together in a great composition.
You're so adorable. You make me smile. God bless you darlin. From Texas with love.
Since I have all my dad's vinyl I get to listen to them all to remind me of him, love your reactions you're really feeling it❤
I believe my girl found her new theme song

This is one of the great songs from the 70's, there was just so much diverse music it was incredible!
73 years old now & still love this. Best cover of Fleetwood Mac's tune. 73rd comment too.
Originally written and played by Peter Greene, Fleetwood Mac in 1969.

Santana!! Legend! Check out the longer version of this song on the Moonflower album!
😁 More Carlos Santana and band please!!! 😁 Perhaps “Winning” or “Everything’s Coming Our Way” ?!?! 😁👍
In the late 60's we were rockin' out & then I heard this band for the first time & was blown away by the rockin' Latin sound.
I heard that his style of playing was a mix of Rock, Blues and Mexican Salsa music. 🎶 🎵
The way this tune segues into 'Oye Como Va' on the Abraxas album is special. The entire album is very special. You will LOVE it.

I wasn’t alive when Santana performed at Woodstock in 1969,but I did see Santana’s return to Woodstock in 1994.Just absolutely magical!

Happy to have been able to see him first in ‘69.
The best.
This is a cover of a Fleetwood Mac song. I strongly recommend the original one. It is bluesier.
This is what we called music!
Gregg Rolie on vocals Carlos Santana on guitar.
I had a friend that used to sing "Got a black nekkid woman..." :o
Excelent!
If there was a Mount Rushmore of great guitarists, Carlos would definitively be one of my choices. I grew up during this great music❤
I changed devices and lost your channel…..so delighted to find you again !!!!!
Fleetwood Mac were the originals with this song

Music for the soul.
Santana had a whole niche to himself...no body better...
Thanks!
Very much appreciated Daniel 🤗
Wow!! Love watching you enjoying this wonderful song! Well done!
You should play the full album start to finish. For a 54 year old album recorded on old analog equipment , the sound throughout is amazing.
Great fun, the whole album Abraxas is fantastic!
Your description is spot on, and yes, the percussion does evoke the feeling of some type of magic ritual taking place. You are very perceptive. Loved your reaction to this wonderful magical piece of music.
Love the moves .. great reaction
Great pick. I keep wondering if "Santana" ever came up with a census as to how many folks were in their band.
Lovely your reaccion Sarah!
next u should listen to his version of 'she's not there'

Magic Black Woman is a more appropriate title for this video. ❤
As good as Santana is you really need to listen to the origional Fleetwood Mac version with Peter Greene
Try the original next from Fleetwood Mac.
No body holds and bends notes like carlos!
Classic!
Most people aren't aware that this is a cover of Fleetwood Mac
Good ol' San Francisco music
Welcome to the 70's! 😅
I like Samba Pati😂👍👍
Peter Green Fleetwood Mac wrote and recorded this in 1968

It may surprise you to know that this is a cover of an old Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green) song.
Good girl
The Fleetwood Mac original set the stage. Different, but very good
💯
Guess the year......I'll say 1971????
Fleetwood Mac, I think was 68/69.Carlos took it to another level, whilst not denying the brilliance of Peter Green.👍👍
Listen to the original version of this song by Fleetwood Mac.
check out The Band
Santana Gitarrengott
Originally a Fleetwood Mac song
Latin soul
A “Black Magic “ woman or A “ Black” Magic woman? I’m 79 and haven’t been able to figure this out….
This song is a masterclass in instrumentation and production. Typical Santana!
Santana is the best guitarist besides Stevie Ray Vaughn
Sorry but I still prefer Peter Green’s version.
I'm pretty sure that you'd make a great black magic woman.
No offence intended lady.
