Yep! Soul Sacrifice, even more Remarkable is they're all under the influence of LSD, and Carlos tells the story of how that happened, needless to say the Grateful Dead were involved, SALTS
That's Carlos Santana, founder + guitarist from the band Santana. Vocalist is Rob Thomas, formerly of Matchbox 20. Santana made a big splash performing @ Woodstock in 1969. Many great songs from Santana
Another one of my very favorites. I can listen to this one several times in a row and still want more. I just love everything about it. The singer, Rob Thomas, wife was in this. She was the lady in the window and then dancing with the blue top on.
Carlos Santana also did a song with Michelle Branch called "Game Of Love" which is a good song. Santana is a band and also the lead guitarist's last name. I think you will really enjoy "Black Magic Woman", "Samba Pa Ti" and the studio version of "Incident at Neshabur". He's Mexican, so you are right about the Latin feel. He was born in 1947, so he's been around.
We were spoiled. We had such great music. Now they have plastic music done with auto tune and studio tricks and computerized instruments. Nothing is real. the writing is not real. the singing is not. I think that is why reaction videos are so popular. The younger generations are looking for reality and real music. Not fake.
Another of my favorites! You're on a streak, Rere from where I sit! As others have said, he started in the late 60s with Woodstock. He had lots of amazing music for many years. He had a resurgence of popularity in the 90s and 2000s. This song is from the 2nd time frame.
The Guitarist is Carlos Santana he made this album with guest vocals for every song the vocalist is Rob Thomas from Machbox 20. The girl in the window is Rob’s wife. Carlos had hits in the 60’s and still tours today.
That effect on his voice in the verses is generally referred to as 'Lo-Fi' by engineers and producers, verses Hi-Fi. They intentionally go for a low tech sound which has a nostalgic? quality to it. It sounds like older tech.
Carlos Santana is the guitar player. Listen to his song, "Soul Sacrifice" from Woodstock, 1969. He is Mexican and he fused Rock with Latin rhythms. He was about 20 years old in the Woodstock performance. BTW, I love your reactions. ☺✌, PJ
I have still his first album from 1969. He is one of the most remarkable artists born at Woodstock and saw him life in Germany many years later with his Latin sound ❤🎉
I can recognize Santana's guitar in any song, especially with that piano in the background. I became a fan of his in the 1970s, some people might thing hi looks older, I think in terms of the longevity of his career as most impressive.
Carlos Santana has been playing great music sinc ethe late 60s his guitar style is so distinct. He makes the guitart make love to your ears it just grabs your soul. Carlos is from San francisco bay area. he plays a latin version of rock
Carlos Santana's been around forever, master of Latin blues-rock guitar, mixes in some jazz and pop and whatever he wants. Abraxas was huge break thru album way back in 1970ish. Black Magic Woman and Oyo Como Va were both hits from it, and Samba Pa Ti is another classic from it that any Santana fan knows and loves. Try those out, you'll probably love them, then do the whole album (and Santana III next)
Carlos Santana is the main guitar player in the video, Rob Thomas is the one singing. It was a MASSIVE hit back in the day. Great collaboration from two great artists.
I absolutely love Rob Thomas. His voice is so unique. I love his group Matchbox Twenty. You should check out some of their songs. The Real World. Bent. Back To Good. Push. 3AM. Unwell. If You're Gone.
Saw Santana last year in the San Francisco area He can still shred ** on a random side note I have a friend who’s a sensational basis & she was in studio with Santana and did a gig with him a few months back. She said he’s very nice and quite talented.
Carlos (from Mexico) stole the show at Woodstock. That was 1969, and he was about 21 years old. This one is around 2000! And now we've gone another 25 years.
I am Hispanic and I will explain it to you: Santana was born in the U.S. but it has Mexican roots. The song uses instruments such as the Conga, Timbales, Cencerro and the Güiro, they are instruments that are used to make Salsa (Latin Genre) but specifically it is Cuban. It is a Salsa mixed with Latin Rock but sung in English. As for Santana's guitar playing, the core of his sound comes from Latin Blues, since while American Blues tends to be more aggressive and loud when played, Latin Blues is more fluid, more refreshing, more exciting, the climate in Latin America has a lot, Let's see since it is more Sun, Beach, Summer (Good weather) and that greatly influences the musical genres. You can play other of their songs like Black Magic Woman or Soul Sacrifice, as well as songs in Spanish like Oye Como Va, Samba Pa Ti or Corazón Espinado.
Carlos was born in Jalisco Mexico and came to Los Angeles when he was 19 years old. He always has that Latin percussion that is the foundation of all his music. Plus, he is a one-of-a-kind guitarist.
At this point, this is one of the most popular songs ever to be released. This whole album was a monster back in 1999, 2000 and onward. The whole thing rips. I saw Santana jam with Jerry Garcia & the Grateful Dead twice in 1991 😊 Thanks for the reaction
Mexican kind of Santana stuck over the border of 15 and he started playing with people like the Grateful Dead but yet behind the amplifiers he did not like to be seen. He’s only 15 that’s gotta start now he’s a legend.
Santana didn't have a hit song for so long that the record co. didn't think radio stations would play this. So they sent it out with a plain white jacket labeled mystery artist. Although some disc jockeys recognized Carlos' guitar sound they played it.
When this first aired on the radio, I knew it was Rob because of his vocals but I could definitely tell it was NOT Matchbox 20 doing the music. I didn't know that part until a little bit later. Santana was a musician from the late 60's, and he was at Woodstock back then. He was well known already when this came out
It was a huge hit when it came out( in the UK anyway)---1999 I think ?---- as was the album it was taken from: "Supernatural". I don't buy many records but I bought this one!
just another day in the Burroughs of NYC lol. things like this used to happen often back in the day, the neighborhood would close down the street and have a block party similar to this. shame we cant have nice things anymore.
Rere, YOU are a vibe! I enjoy your reactions SO much! Thank you for watching such a variety of music. I will again suggest Aretha Franklin "Natural Woman" performed live at the Kennedy Center Honors in honor of Carole King- who wrote the song. You need to watch the video to get the whole feel for the music and the performance. Looking forward to your reaction! 🎹🎶
Thanks, Girl! Carlos is classic.. first heard him in the 70's - but he's stayed "relevant" by working with younger artists over the decades... I like his songs with Michelle Branch, as well as this one.. nevertheless, his sound and talent are unique - enjoyed your reaction!

Yep, Howie.. like Stevie Wonder's harmonica... and just a very few other guitarists.. SRV, Brian May of Queen, and of course, Jimi Hendrix...
Santana played at Woodstock in '69, so yeah, he's not a youngster these days... but he still kicks butt.

Santana is from Autlán, Jalisco México, 100% mexican rock Star
I was always into "alternative" music and not into Santana, but when this song came out everyone was grooving with cocktails!
"Maria Maria" and "Into the Night" are a couple more excellent Santana collaborations.
"Supernatural": one of the finest albums ever recorded. We could listen to Carlos Santana every single day.

There a San Francisco based band that started out in the late 1960’s
They started out as a Latin blues fusion jam band
Carlos (from Mexico) stole the show at Woodstock. That was 1969, and he was about 21 years old. This one is around 2000! And now we've gone another 25 years.
